Best pub garden in Salcombe but if the weathers not good then inside itâs cosy and traditional. Have never found the staff anything but friendly and polite and especially Steve the manager who never seems to stop and yet still has time for a chat. There can be a wait for food when itâs busy but youâre in Salcombe so just chill and who cares when the view is this good!

Had lunch here today with a friend, used to visit a few years ago but then moved out of the area⊠firstly the welcome and service were both excellent⊠the scallop dish with toasted sourdough was the star of my lunch⊠the herby, garlicky sauce was beautiful⊠I wish Iâd ordered another portion for my main course.. please ask the chef to never change this dish đ

Itâs been quite a while since Iâve eaten here as a customer, and it was as delightful as I remember. Excellent service from Luke & team, an excellent menu and a great vibe in the dining area made up for it. All four of our meals were first class and it was a joy to return. Great to see that while things may have changed quite a bit in Salcombe, the Kingâs Arms is as good as ever!

Had a Sunday lunch here yesterday with some friends. First of all I was struck by how friendly the landlord was. The food was delicious, lovely roast pork, lamb, nut roast and a nice selection of veg. The staff were very polite, pleasant and patient. The deserts were excellent, I had the stick toffee pudding with clotted cream and others had between them bread and butter pudding, apple and blackberry tart, profiteroles and all thoroughly enjoyed it. We all agreed that we wouldnât hesitate to come back. One of the best Sunday lunches Iâve had in a lovely atmosphere.

Wow what a pub! A proper pub! Rare find these days! Fab atmosphere, brilliant music, nice friendly locals! This is definitely the place to be! Best pub in town! Lovely young friendly guy behind the bar! Thank you! I work in the Blue Peter Polperro, very similar vibes đ

I booked 2 nights for friends online, i had some simple questions about parking and accessibility but couldn't get hold of anyone to answer my questions so i cancelled. I cancelled nearly 1 month before the cut off for a full 100% refund ( clearly stated in their contract when booking) . I then spent nearly 2 months calling, emailing, leaving voicemails to get my money back - they ignored every one. In the end I had to claim the money back via my bank. If my bank hadnt stepped in and help, this establishment would have stolen over ÂŁ400 from me. I am writing to hopefully sway others and stop them doing the same to others

We booked 2 tables for 8 adults and 7 children ( one 2 years and another 4 with real dietary issues) . The mother of the two children brought some food for the 4 year old and a small snack for the two year old . She was informed that no food could be given that was not purchased in the restaurant meaning she had to leave to feed the 4 year old in the car and cancel her order . Totally ruined the special day . Will make sure we never visit again and also the food was not great .

Car park bad ,food was not cooked ,then microwave (to be fair we were not charged, for that meal ). But my husband who likes strong tea asked for an extra tea bag in his pot of tea ,they charge 5.00 making it a pot for two !!!!!! We will not be returning.

Had a excellent Sunday lunch at the White Hart. I had chicken and my partner had the rack of pork. She said it was excellent and the best she had tasted. My chicken was perfect and tasty. Must admit the cauliflower cheese is the best I've tasted. The staff are excellent. Very friendly and efficient.

Oh dear. What should be a lovely old characterful pub is clearly struggling under the current management. We arrived for a drink at 12.20 pm on a Sunday after a wet coastal walk, to find the door bolted but the lights on. The member of staff inside signalled that the pub wasnât opened until the manager returned. This he did a few minutes later with a bag of logs and proceeded to light the fire and then left 5 minutes later, leaving his assistant in charge. The lad left behind sat on a bar stool yawning and was too young to serve a second pint. He was unsure whether or not food was being served for Sunday lunch. We were the only people inside, the bar area was dirty, the windows were dirty, the loos were filthy with overflowing bins; the whole place was sad and depressing. Letâs hope that new management with energy and enthusiasm can take over the pub and save this beautiful old pub from being closed permanently as it has so much potential, even in todayâs tricky market.

Dreadful. Risotto was a bowl of stock with a few spoons of cooked long grain rice and some chopped veg. Not a risotto. Beetroot salad was a basic green salad with a load of sliced beetroot from a jar on the top. Worst meal out in ages.
