We have just got home from spending 4 nights in Littlehempston. We ate at the Tally Ho every night. Absolute superb local pub. From the welcome of the Landlord and Landlady, Mike and Kelly to the delightful food choices on their menu. The chef supplies you with pure gastronomic delights. Cooked to perfection. The Chowder was the best we have ever eaten. Just one of the many delicious dishes served to us. We would definitely recommend a visit here. The warmth and ambience of your welcome is amazing and we can’t wait to visit again.

SUPERB…. We had the haddock, chips, minted peas etc personally delivered to our accommodation , a beautiful holiday cottage behind the restaurant, which is dog friendly and has stunning views. The whole experience is excellent and we cannot fault any of it. Everything wonderfully cooked to perfection. Thankyou.

Bed accommodation ( breakfast is available for extra cost), lovely comfortable room on first floor close to sea wall, if you like to sleep hearing the waves it’s a must. Very clean accommodation and shower / en-suite Parking is free behind on the street but limited, there is plenty paid parking no too far away

We wanted a quick brunch and ordered the Baked Eggs. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait to allow it to bake. Fair enough! However when the dish arrived the sauce was watery and thin with no depth of flavour. The haricot beans were like bullets and the eggs were underdone. It tasted like a rush job as if a tin of tomatoes had just had the beans and eggs added. Not a sauce on which any time had been spent. Very disappointing!

Limited opening times, No food so asked out of curtesy if grandson could eat a snack. Was told no but to eat outside in the garden which had a closed sign on the gate, so had eat in the smoking area. Didn't feel particularly welcome. No alternative snack was offered. Wasn't very accommodating, we were staying local and would have returned for a meal but they said closed Monday and Tuesday and we would need to book if wanted to return. I would advise anyone to give this pub a a miss as there are much better pubs in the area

Gastrobus has definitely gone downhill . Prices gone up - £11 for a mediochre hotdog . Pitta pocket with brisket not much better and more expensive . For two lunches with hot drinks it was over £30 . The breakfast menu looked better but the lunch menu options weren’t great . Shame as was good . Won’t be using again even though we’re regulars at bantham

The gastrobus has been changed! Used to be one of the highlights of the summer holidays. The Gastrodogs were perfection. The menu has the “totnessed” and it’s not good. The portions are smaller. It’s not as good, but the prices are high. Even my 8 year old was full of sadness at the changes.

We were staying in Dartmouth and looking for a good, dog friendly place to eat and Brown's fit the bill perfectly. As it was a Monday evening the place was very quiet and we were offered a choice of two tables with plenty of space for our 2 Irish Setters. The very friendly waitress (sorry I didn't ask your name!) quickly took our orders for wine and food. Starters of roast chorizo and a field mushroom topped with goat's cheese were delicious and the mains of venison and wild boar ragu were every bit as good. Sadly, we had no room for desserts, but there looked to be a good choice. They don't have a car park but there is plenty of free on street parking on Victoria Road; I guess the place gets very busy in main seaon though so you may have to use one of the nearby pay car parks and walk along. Worth the walk though as it's certainly a place to recommend.
