Wow what a pub! A proper pub! Rare find these days! Fab atmosphere, brilliant music, nice friendly locals! This is definitely the place to be! Best pub in town! Lovely young friendly guy behind the bar! Thank you! I work in the Blue Peter Polperro, very similar vibes 💙

Awful, certainly not a family pub. No tables inside, were outside and then it poured down. The choice of music was weird to say the least, to listen to some weird song about a woman who had been cheated on, but words were vile, certainly not what we wanted to hear. Im sorry but who would play that. Such graphic words, cxxt was one. It was awful.

Popped in here, primarily to get out of the persistent rain, but also due to my wife claiming she’d visited this pub years ago! I’m glad she did, Such a nice surprise! A true old fashioned traditional pub, the like of which is rare these days! Landlord friendly personable and happy to answer our questions re the numerous flags which were everywhere and colourful. Beer was good, wine good and prices reasonable. Atmosphere terrific, helped by a quite amazing French Radio channel, Bordeaux I was told, blurting out some great nostalgic tunes. If ever you’re in Dartmouth, try this out, you’ll love it!

Visiting Dartmouth 16th & 17th December we had more than a few scoops in this great pub Friday night, someone played some (excuse my age) electronic music which got louder and louder, we`ve never heard it before and it was brilliant! Came to visit Dartmouth and found this hidden jem! If you want to get to know the locals this is the place to go. Have been here several times and a really good local pub with good beer and normal food (but not currently). But social distancing - really didn't make any effort at all. They had a screen by the till but no enforcement of anything else. Very large groups close together in the bar all mixed up. Staff didn't do anything to control things .It is a pain for us all but for the good of everyone to take it a little more seriously. The only place we visited in Devon who really didn't try

Nice looking pub and in normal times I'm sure it will have a great atmosphere however we were not happy with the social distancing set up and left after one quick drink. The clientele seemed to be mainly locals who were changing seats and milling around as if covid 19 did not exist. No one seemed to be ensuring that the systems explained on the signage were being followed so we didn't feel safe. This was in contrast to most of the other pubs in Dartmouth who had some rigorous and effective systems to maximise the safety of their customers.

From the outside this looked like a real ale pub. Flowers were lovely and a welcoming awaited...or so we thought!Customer: 'What coffees do you do please?'Bar Lady: Black or whiteCustomer:'Could you do something like an Americano?'Bar Lady: I do black or white so what will it be?Oh dear, this is not good service. Then my elderly father, who I had taken out for the day, asked:Customer: 'What real ale do you have please'Bar Lady: Dark or lightCustomer: 'What is the dark ale please'Bar Lady: Erm, it's dark! Now this is feeling very rude. The staff were rather patronisingly and I felt like I was putting the bar lady out just by being a customer. This is poor service at its worst. The toilets are not clean (mens), the spiral staircase carpet is not all that safe for the elderly and the toilets have pornography all over the walls and ceiling (should be interesting taking a child to the toilet and having to explain that away). All-in-all not an inspiring visit. As a customer I can be forgiving with investment in property as times are hard but poor service is non-negotiable. Having no empathy for elderly people trying to enjoy their day out is very bad. It took the edge off my old Dad's day out. Shame on you the person who served us.

I don't much like wandering around somewhere I don't know or am not too familiar with trying to decide where to have a drink - let a lone a meal! Hence the value of the Internet, Google and TripAdvisor - Brave New World! Saved up for a couple of weeks to treat myself too the UK,'s most expensive fish & chip's . Talking to the people beside me they told me it over an hour since they had ordered , and when it did arrive it didn't look very tempting , the place is scruffy and dirty, asked to speak to the owner and was told he was he was in London living it up , not surprising with prices he charges, I was told by a local that the owner didn't take criticism well and was a right arrogant so & so , so had a nice warm flat pint of beer and went to the chippy for half the price, give it a miss , there's plenty of better pubs about.

Visited on a recommendation for a drink, and it was really pleasant for a bunch of friends passing the evening over a drink or three. But conversation then turned to the images in the men's toilets. Seriously? Pictures of scantily dressed women in provocative poses? In 2018? This isn't cool. Best case? It's just distasteful. Worst case, it perpetuates a horrid perspective that women are little more than objects for male pleasure. And that's actually dangerous, especially when combined with boozy nights out to the pub.

Still an excellent little pub tucked away in the backstreets of Dartmouth. On arrival the bar area was busy, most of the downstairs restaurant area was reserved, and one small table remained. Unfortunately in the time it took to place my order another customer took over the table (not his fault - i didnt have anything to leave on the table to claim ownership) but I was able to move to one of the tables in the upstairs restaurant without fuss. The food (mussels) was, as always, excellent and served very promptly. The beer was also top notch. The only downside was the difficulty of ordering at the bar. Trying to get through the throng of locals stood in front of the bar is somewhat challenging - perhaps a slight redesign might allow for an area to be kept clear for service.I'll be back again soon!

Four of us shared the Regatta Platter and a Mister Fritto platter. Crab, prawns, mackerel pate, squid, scampi, coleslaw, bread, chips and dips. Great value for money. Great pub and a friendly service.

Stopped by for an impromptu drink-this bar was heaving with people and incredibly loud, with dogs wandering about everywhere! If you like this sort of think, you'll love if here, if not, you won't!

A lively bar that seems to be popular with the seaman and the locals. The menu looks limited but the portions looks of good standard as does the meals. We were looking for something a bit different that evening. But the whole place has a good feel about it.

Popped in on a sunny winters day for a pint and spot of lunch. Lovely tranquil atmosphere, best pint of real ale in town and a hearty lunch. One of the best pubs, don't miss out!

I used to frequent this pub when I was at the Naval College. 30 years on it is still a great atmospheric place for a swift half. Really busy on a Tuesday night in January - need I say more.

I booked 2 nights for friends online, i had some simple questions about parking and accessibility but couldn't get hold of anyone to answer my questions so i cancelled. I cancelled nearly 1 month before the cut off for a full 100% refund ( clearly stated in their contract when booking) . I then spent nearly 2 months calling, emailing, leaving voicemails to get my money back - they ignored every one. In the end I had to claim the money back via my bank. If my bank hadnt stepped in and help, this establishment would have stolen over £400 from me. I am writing to hopefully sway others and stop them doing the same to others

Excellent food and service, and beautiful ice cream. I had the chicken quesadilla and it was excellent. We also had beef chilli nachos, also delicious 😋

Awesome. Don’t judge a book by its cover. I arrived late evening for work over a couple of days. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful from getting me a taxi late evening at the train station to helping me get to my work venue in the morning. I had arrived past restaurant hours but the staff were more than happy to prepare food if I had wanted. I was also given a local delicacy from a local. I’m normally a poor sleeper but slept so well. Whilst the rooms at first appearance look a little dated the bed is so so comfy. The room also spotlessly clean. The question is - what’s more important to you - a great nights sleep or a sterile environment with mod cons? Sadly the first morning I didn’t have chance to sample the breakfast- I didn’t have time to wait. They have a sign saying ‘We don’t serve fast food. We serve fresh food as fast as we can”. Suffice to say I ordered my breakfast for the following morning before I went to bed so it was ready for me when I needed it. Now for the highlight DINNER. I eat a lot and this is definitely one of the best meals I had in a long time. Not the usual processed pub food. The main(stuffed chicken with root veg and dauphinois potatoes was delicious. I never order dessert but felt I had to - the main was so good. The sticky toffee pudding did not disappoint. Overall a really great stay. Thanks so much
