This used to be a really nice place and really good breakfast Today I know they was busy but we waited over an hour for a cold undercooked and burnt breakfast We paid in full as we felt sorry for her but will never return

Turned up to have a burger with someone from my bubble but refused to allow us to sit at the same table unless we lived in the same household! When I challenged this they said they were right and We couldn’t sit together so we left! Also used to serve amazing burgers but they are now serving almost half sized burgers and charging the same price blaming their suppliers for not being able to get them! Change the price then! Don’t care what you say they didn’t taste the same, you didn’t warn us they had changed until we questioned it.

Bit late for breakfast and bit early for lunch? Yankee Breakfast best of both worlds. Great filling brunch, cooked perfectly and served quick.

The secret little gem hidden in the Wrangaton business park. been coming here for many years in both its old and new buildings and never gone away dissapointed. Good for takeaway food and drink, breakfast, lunch with everything from burgers and lasagnes to jackets and (Delicious) ploughman never skimping on the portions with anything and and great prices. Newer premise just inside the main gate much cleaner and inviting that the old place which is just a sign of how this little business has grown up over the years. staff always very friendly and welcoming. Only downfall is that they still don't take card payments so make sure got cash out before go and nearest cash points are couple miles either direction.

Arrived and had to wait ten minutes to be seen. Ordered food to then be told they don’t accept card. Sent us down the a38 to get cash. Came back and they then asked us if we had anything smaller as they had no change. They took the change from their own tip jar! We got our coffees finally and weren’t given a spoon, went back to ask for one and asked for some mustard, got given a jar of mustard so we sat back down and opened the jar to find it was empty lol. Went back and asked for a jar with mustard in to be told they’d ran out. So again we sit and wait. An hour goes by and still no breakfast. The men behind us who were there before we arrived were also still waiting. The slogan at the desk was “service with a smile”.. well couldn’t be much further from the truth. The only smile we saw was from the piggy tip jar, which once raided for change was no longer smiling. Happy Father’s Day indeed.

Superb food, freshly cooked, and always with a smile. Reasonably priced, too. My husband had the Trucker's Breakfast, and thoroughly enjoyed every morsel. The premises are kept very neat, clean and tidy, and there are tables to sit and eat outside if the weather's up to it. Free parking, too!

This has recently moved to The Gatehouse Cafe, but ownership and staff are the same. The new location is much more homely and the value for money is as good as ever. If you want a great breakfast for a sensible price, there is no better in the area.

A one off cafe serving breakfast and grease food is not exactly a great investment. Although the food cannot be faultered. It's quick cheap and a great stop after something like a bike ride or a walk on Dartmoor. From previous experience the cleanliness hasn't even en been average and I'm not sure a out the food hygiene rating. Haven't visited in a while and don't intend to go back

Decided to stop at the cafe at Anna mill and noticed a new one had opened in the old guard house (used to be MOD stores). "Lets look at the menu" said My Lovely Wife. It seemed to be very much like the array of bacon that you get in the other cafe, went in and the lady behind the counter seemed to be very much like the lady behind the counter that you get in the other cafe. Surprise! the other cafe has moved and is now nice and warm. As this was the only moan by MLW about the old cafe thought I would rereview ( is it a word?). Breakfast still excellent with added bonus of MLW not having to keep her hat and scarf on. Superb bacon by the way.

Wide choice of brekkie/brunch and main meals too. Refills of tea and coffee and friendly staff. Place is nice and clean with sufficient parking and a outside bit for desperate gaspers. Only downsides are a lack of heating for sad car drivers, (I just keep my bike gear on) and the chips and waffles are oh my god so hot! You must be patient and allow things to cool a bit and then it's all good.

Note that this is now called 'Route A38 Café'. Note easy to find as it's in the Wrangaton business park. Industrial unit interior cheered up with pictures of old US cars! Friendly staff. Great price. I had a vegetarian breakfast with cup of tea +refill for under £5. Could see Café was used by regulars.

I came here for Sunday brunch with my family because we had been here before and it was very nice. The ownership had changed and it is now called route A38 cafe. The menu was still very similar brunch and all day breakfast but they did have Sunday carvery. The food is good and the staff are friendly overall it is a great place to come in and have some brunch.

This a very nice place to eat but is also a very nice place to meet up and have a drink. The cooks are always very nice when they take your order and do it at a very speedy pace. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to cook ham, egg and chips. I am a definite favourite of the route 38 café.

The mushrooms are cut so small you can hardly see them (why oh why would yo do this) unless they were out a tin. The sausages used to be so much better. Otherwise a good visit.

First time I'd visited again in nearly a year, but I still think this is a decent place for breakfast. Not the cheapest, but cooked fresh and reliably tasty and hot. The staff are polite although sometimes I feel the place could do with a little bit of a clean up.

I think the place has improved since the changeover of ownership. The place is no longer operating as a bakery + cafe, just the cafe only. It is cheaper, with more options and I felt the meal offered better value. The breakfast was cooked well, the staff were friendly, although the Trucker's Feast was a little too large for me! There was no fried bread option though, and it did take a while to arrive. However, overall I felt an improvement. Drinks came as part of the breakfast and included 1 refill.

Visited here for the first time on a recent weekend morning. First impressions were good; the place is clean, light , airy, and the staff were friendly. I was also surprised at how busy it was. Anyway, we looked at the menu on the wall and opted for the 'bumper' breakfast; as follows: 1 fried egg, 2 sausages, 2 bacon, beans, mushrooms, 2 hash browns and toast or fried bread. It came with a free tea or coffee plus refill. This cost £5.70, and at that price, we were expecting a large meal. We ordered and paid, noting that we weren't offered the toast/fried bread choice (presuming we'd get a slice of each or something like that) and waited for our food to arrive. Service was fairly prompt and we received our food. For the price paid, we were slightly underwhelmed. The sausages did look like a decent quality, although we both had one half the size of the other. The bacon was fine but the mushrooms were quite finely chopped and must have been no larger than a tablespoonful. We were both surprised to receive just toast also - we'd have preferred fried bread. Overall the meal was not really any bigger/better than in a Wetherspoons at almost half the price. Probably won't head back again.

We stayed 3 nights, Fri Sat & Sun, very comfortable well furnished room, ensuite, with breakfast (diy) available in little kitchen down the hall. Wonderful old world inn, great bar, and bar food til 8.30 (lunchtime til 5 on Sunday, no evening meal). Very friendly and helpful staff, and wonderful location in the wilds of Dartmoor.

I loved this pub. We walked from Salcombe and it was well worth it (don't worry, you can drive there too). It had the feel of a genuine pub with some good beers that happened to do great food also. I had possibly the best burger I have had in a long time and my wife had a fantastic steak sandwich. Both were freshly prepared scratch. They have vegan options too. I notice some negative reviews, mostly due to poor service. We arrived at 12 noon on a weekday in October. Even so, the place was full by the time we left, so it is clearly a popular place. The service we experienced was without fault. I hope our experience is the norm.

Great late lunch with family, biggest haddock I have ever seen. Had that locally caught ling, calamri and my wife just cheesy chips. All with crispy fresh batter, chips golden but soft inside. Even cheesy chips were top, 1/2 chips, then cheese, more chips and topping of more cheese. All top quality, even the ice cream and with nice pints of Otter, bitter & ale on tap. Great way to end off long walk on the beach. You won’t be disappointed..
