We went for dinner when we were staying nearby. Very friendly, funny staff. We booked a table the day before, great service and lovely food. There is a small amout of parking outside.

We went in a large group fairly last minute for dinner outdoors so understandably it probably wasn't ideal for staff on the whole, but from the get go there were issues and there was a gentleman working who I assume may have been a manager who made it clear that the issues would not be resolved even if we asked for them to be (running out of pizzas on a pizza-only outdoors night, for example, with no offer of a resolution even though we asked). His tone with us was a 'like it or lump it' vibe and he probably didn't realise that I overheard him loudly and publicly berating a young female member of his staff for something that, in my opinion, was down to general poor management of the situation rather than down to her work, as she had been polite and helpful throughout. The way he spoke to her was unacceptable, especially in earshot of customers. I recommend this gentleman looks into some customer care and communication training to ensure he is offering the best service possible, even when things are stressful, as well as improving staff management skills. We sadly would not return to this pub because the evening was stressful rather than relaxing and enjoyable.

This was such an amazing pub, with a wonderful atmosphere. We were served by two lovely young ladies, both oozing personality. They are a credit to the pub. The food was delicious, particularly the pizza. If you're brave (which we weren't), go for the FB, it looks humongous. I wish we had a pub like this in Worcestershire. I would advise you to book if you are having a meal, as every table was occupied or reserved. Thanks team, we will be back on our next visit!

Love this pub - great food, great staff, in a lovely setting. Had a wonderful roast dinner sunday evening, a seed & vegetable roast REALLY NICE, then went back later in the week for pizza! Nothing else to say!

Thought it would be just classic pub grub until we seen the attached specials board. With venison and duck options. Unfortunately then my expectations went a little too high and I expected better, but was definitely very nice and would visit again if I came back to the area.

We book a table for 9 in the afternoon ready for 17:30, arrived at 17:00 and told we could sit down but they could not take orders until 17:30 not a problem. We had been given 1 menu amongst us all as they did not have others available, went to order to be told they have nothing on the menu only pitza and pies. We found very strange as this had not been mentioned when we called as we all fancied steak, anyway we ordered and sat eating when another large party of 9 older people sat and ordered steak and everything on the menu which we wanted to order, I felt the staff had no idea in what they were doing and then to be charged £15 of a £200 bill to be tip and not even mentioned when paying absolutely appalling make charges with out telling you this is not America and these staff receive a wage. Never again don't go there.

This is a friendly, busy place. Food was good and the service was good and quick. We went with a family group, there were a lot of us, but the staff were helpful and seemed experienced.

Could have been treated a little nicer by the manager?! of The Green Dragon Pub when we arrived in Stoke Fleming and stopped for a drink on Thursday 18th July looking for our accommodation in the village. Lovely village and we enjoyed our stay but needless to say we did not use the pub. Their loss!

Been coming here when we visit fir the last two years. Usually at least once a month. The staff are brilliant nothing is too much for them. We like the restaurant area to eat as bit quieter although the bar area is not a problem. Choice of menu is excellent pizza, main menu and specials . Landlady always on hand to help out which is always good to see. Have just booked another table. Spoke to a very helpful member of staff. Thank you for some lovely meals.

Excellent pub. Great range beers, really friendly staff and a great beer garden on which we watch the footie. Pizza and chips available all through the match which we're really tasty, as well as a nice and super convenient bar in the beer garden. Staff were excellent, really kind and helpful. All in all great experience and made for a great atmosphere to watch the game.

Lovely dog friendly pub, really helpful staff, plenty of shade in the garden. Walked here from Dartmouth Castle and caught the bus back.

One of the best pizza's I've had

Went here for a meal. The food was ok but not much choice as it was their pie night, so the normal menu was dropped. As the evening went on, lots of the pies ran out and were taken off of the chalkboard. Luckily, we were there early enough to get what we wanted. Service was not great as we had to order from the bar, and it was tricky getting there. The biggest problem was that it was too full and very noisy, feeling more like a simple pub than a restaurant so we did not enjoy our visit very much.

Came for Sunday roast was absolutely delicious 😋 nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were so friendly and attentive. We decided to sit in the beautiful beer garden as weather glorious. Had to leave behind a card in a safe secure box as we was wanting to set up a tab which was fine by us . Wonderful service warm welcome would definitely recommend can't wait to come back .

Lovely village country pub! Staff were wonderful very friendly and smilie, food was fantastic could not complain… locals, staff & landlord and landlady made the atmosphere spectacular would highly recommend this pub for food and drinks and great place for a social gathering. Back garden is beautiful, patio had sun the whole time we were sat out there which was a bonus! the bar staff asked for a card when we wanted to set up a tab which we didn’t mind doing as we knew after they explain that we were the only ones who had access to the card because of the key they gave us! Visited here with a large group. Those of us who ordered roast beef were extremely disappointed as the beef was flavourless and difficult to cut and chew which resulted in us being unable to eat it. As the vegetables came out a long time before the main meals they were cold by the time we ate. When we informed staff we were ignored with no acknowledgment or apology. During the rest of our stay we were made to feel extremely uncomfortable and monitored closely by staff. We were unable to stay for drinks as we had pre planned due to the hostile environment. Would not recommend!!

Went here for a Sunday dinner with a group of friends after a lovely weekend away, this ruined our weekend. The beef was was inedible, it was really chewy and difficult to cut. When we told the staff they were really rude! We then felt really uncomfortable to stay for a drink afterwards. It’s was like we were being watched! Do not recommend.

Went here with a group of friends , beef was inedible , when we asked for some more sauces the woman was passive aggressive telling us our sauce was on our plate . We were asked how was it and we explained the beef wasn’t great and they walked off without saying anything. At the end it felt the staff were watching us thinking we were going to do a runner and there were many passive aggressive comments made to us .

Came for lunch with friends and the beef was difficult to cut and incredibly chewy. When asked how the food was there was no offer of an apology from the first member of staff seeing as everyone who had the beef couldn't eat it. Are all customers asked to leave their cards behind the bar or was it just us?

Visited this Pub today for Sunday lunch .... I had the Roast Beef & the trimmings which was thoroughly enjoy. Staff were more than accommodating. Couldnt ask for more

brilliant pub in a small village .staff are very good nothing is to much trouble . i eat here very often food is always spot on never had to complain yet ,and believe me i am fussy i would recommend this pub to anyone .

We were in Stoke Fleming for the week in November and dropped by the pub 3 times for dinner (including a Sunday roast). Each time the food was hearty and delicious, the fire roaring, and the staff friendly and welcoming. This is clearly a thriving local hub - plenty of energy about the place. Love to see it! Hope to come back again soon.

Picturesque Devon pub in a wonderful setting with friendly staff. The real ale here is first class, and the pizzas are delicious. Wondeful place to while away an hour or two.

We are so lucky to be camping near this lovely little pub! The staff are so welcoming and friendly, the beer good and the pizzas are delicious. There is a lovely atmosphere and our dog was made very welcome, too, with treats and fuss. Hoping to fit in another visit before we leave…

Nice food but insufficient service. Staff under the legal age to serve drinks, so some drinks could not be served due to staffing levels. Time constraints claimed by the manager prevented certain things. It's a shame really, it was a nice pub. Except for some inconsiderate Merc driver who was too lazy to park his car properly. He parked outside on a narrow footpath, on an already narrow lane. Forcing people, including the disabled into a narrow road to get past.

The atmosphere was lovely. Friendly staff, outside area great for the sports events on TV. Book if you want to eat as very busy.

Our last night of our holiday so thought we would go to the green Dragon pub. We were seated for food but didn’t know if we had to order at the bar or not. I ordered a slim line tonic which came with lime cordial in it. The bar man was pretty gormless and missed stuff from my meal. The food is very average and my vegan burger came with a dry salad that I nearly chocked on. You can tell the chef has no love for the food. Come here if you want boring average food. Will not be coming again.

Great pub. No idea about the food as I didn't eat.

We went for a family meal, waited over an hour for our pizza, eventually our garlic breads came with no cheese, we explained they were meant to have cheese, they came back a minute later with white cheese that hadn’t even yet melted on it yet burnt bread edges. We asked for them to be remade because it was obvious they’d just stuck some cheese on and popped it back in for 30 seconds. They then brought them back 1 min later Bunsen burned in the middle still raw cheese at the edges and no chips ever arrived. We ended up getting a refund for the food they never bothered to give us and leaving. We came last year and loved it but it’s gone down hill rapidly. We came a couple of days ago too £8.95 for sundaes that didn’t even half fill the mugs (they used to) ended up in sainsburys for desert as still hungry… save the money and fuel and don’t bother going…

A seriously wonderful find. A proper pub with atmosphere and a thoroughly positive attitude. If you like pubs, their grub and their warmth you MUST visit The Green Dragon in Stoke Fleming.

Rude Landlord. We only arrived today and our first time in South Devon (been going to North Devon for 25 years) decided to try this pub as it looked great. The bar staff were superb but unfortunately a dog came into the pub and ours being only 16 months old got excited and barked. At the same time as a local girl who is scared of dogs (sadly) who was also coming in got upset. The landlord decided at this point to be rude to me. I apologised to the landlord for the upset who then said the girl was fine, so I advised him he had no right to talk to me the way he did. He didn’t have an answer. By the way it says “Dog friendly” over the bar, apparently it is as long as your dog keeps its mouth shut.

A really lovely pub. It was really busy when we went but the staff were so accommodating. I have special dietary needs and they couldn't have been more helpful. It has a great atmosphere and great food and beer. What's not to like?! There was a menu in the pub and they were also cooking pizza in the garden. I'll definitely go again. Probably a good idea to book, especially at weekends.

This is a real pub not a place that claims to be one but is much more of a restaurant. Very good food is available and the beer is in excellent condition. We were in Stoke Fleming for a short stay and went to the pub several times. Our main recollection is of the very friendly atmosphere which the staff managed to convey so clearly.

A lovely pub on the coast after a long cycle ride a welcome stop for a good ale and a hearty meal, well used by locals and visitors alike, parking at the back. Of pub.niw returned after 4 years the game pie followed by blackberry crumble and custard, the ales are kept well. With an access ramp at the front door makes everyone with a smile from the staff.

Had a lovely meal here with my wife, a really pleasant atmosphere and nicely laid out. My wife had Scampi and l had the Burger with pulled pork and it was probably the best burger I've ever eaten. The only disappointing thing was the Sunday roast had all gone but will come again

From the moment we walked into this pub on the first day of our holiday we were made most welcome, The staff are friendly and professional and cheeky (Poppy) you never have to wait long to be served with a great range of local beers ,ciders, lagers and spirits on offer. We ate in the Green Dragon quite a few times in our two weeks holiday and never had a bad meal in fact it was probably some of the best pub food we have had. Large portions, well cooked and a good selection of home made meals from stone baked pizzas to steaks it is so popular with the locals and holiday makers alike so it’s best to phone up and book a table to avoid disappointment as it’s quiet a small pub on the inside but lots of outside seating. Remember this is a pub first which happens to do food ,you order at the bar and the food is brought to your table.....there maybe a wait as all the food is prepared to order. If you expect silver service you won’t get it here, but, you will get a friendly, polite and helpful service. All of the staff are amazing. The Sunday roast is amazing with unlimited vegetables you just ask and more will be brought out, the gravy is homemade with an amazing flavour and not the thick packet stuff other pubs use. Very friendly staff, not a lot of choice on the menu

Visited Saturday night for a birthday bash. Hadn’t visited for quite a while and we were really impressed with the efficient friendly service, food, and ambiance. Sat in the large secluded beer garden first then moved inside to eat. Nothing was too much trouble and the live music was great. Alan and his team certainly know how to run a great pub. Great staff - tick. Fantastic food - tick. Good beer and great value - tick it’s a Ding Dong from all four of us.

We were staying just around the corner so popping in here was an obvious choice for dinner and it was definitely the right decision. We decided to sit in the lovely patio area and ordered a couple of pizzas. They were delicious and cooked perfectly. After the sun went in we decided to sit inside, although it was busy we found some seats at the bar (our preferred location in any pub) The locals were very friendly as were the staff and landlord who we chatted to until closing. We’ll definitely be coming back!

This place rocks up good food, not startlingly world best, but really up there. it is also good value.

Book sunday lunch on 4th June, ordered topside of beef ahead so not to be disappointed, sadly we we're, catering beef which resembled something out of a pack, no yorkshire pudding, one small dish of veg between 3 adults and the gravy was tasteless and watery more like stock cube with boiling water. Asked if all was OK I said it's average expecting a response but nothing just a blank look. Won't be recommending this pub.

Certainly has been spruced up by the new owners. Much brighter now, with a large section of Gin and ales. Lovely beer garden front and back.

We turned up by chance after a 6hour drive and we were very hungry. They said there was a 40min wait for food and table, but they did us a take away pizza each in 20mins. So we celebrated with a couple of drinks whilst waiting, kids were very happy playing oversized Jenga in the garden whilst waiting. Highly recommend the pizza it is epic especially the mighty meaty x

We just so happened to stumble across this pub after being at a local beach. All I can say is wow. The garden out the back was particularly beautiful. The food was amazing, the staff were friendly and most important to us friendly to our dogs. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back when we’re back in Devon. Thanks The Green Draggon!

Visited with my wife over the weekend. Really friendly staff, extensive choice of Ales and Lagers. Knowledgeable staff and a great atmosphere provided by the locals who were chatty friendly and welcoming. Did not eat there but the food looked great. A fantastic place to while away a few hours On a Bank Holiday Sunday afternoon. Thanks for the memories. Well worth a visit if you like a good Old Fashioned pub with some character and characters!

Good service and great food, very clean village pub

Had a roast pork dinner and it was lovely, tasty and served by friendly accommodating staff. Our dog was welcomed and he lapped up the attention. We were there at 14:00 on a Sunday and I’m gladded we booked as it was very busy. They also had live music which was unexpected but good, would definitely go back

Enjoyed the hospitality of the bar staff and locals. We ate here twice. Meals were a bit hit and miss dependent on the dish. Enjoyed the scampi but the pizza was a bit over done and dry. Pork tikka was very runny. Worth it for simple pub grub and there’s not much competition in Stoke Fleming anyway.

Fantastic family welcome in this cosy, quaint, proper English pub! Lived up to all the good reviews and we enjoyed our pub lunch in such a great atmosphere. Lovely decorative touches throughout, including the dried hops hanging over the bar and the old photos and signs from the area. Only downside is there is very limited parking nearby!

We love The Green Dragon. We have a holiday home nearby and we consider this pub to be our favourite place to eat whether it be the most amazing Sunday roast or an evening meal. Staff are friendly and give brilliant service . The best place to be!

Nice local pub with a good atmosphere. We visited on a Saturday night - pub was fairly busy as rugby had just finished - but they seated us in the small restaurant section, which was nice - not too noisy - food was excellent - pizzas - would recommend. A few issues that stopped me giving it 5 stars: 1. Lack of food choices - this might have been down to the rugby, but they had very few mains on the menu and didn't seem to have any starters at all - food choices were hung on a board - as we arrived, they removed about 4 of them, so we were forced into buying the pizzas - which were great by the way. 2. They seated us in a small restaurant area - told us they would take our food order - but if we wanted drinks we would need to order from the bar - which was a pain - cause I stood there for 10 minutes getting ignored, while locals just walked to a different part of the bar & were immediately served - would have been better if the waitress had taken our drinks orders at the table. 3. Not sure if there was some confusion, but we sat down and then were ignored for 20 minutes - a waitress came to the table after about 10 minutes - great we thought - ready to take our order - nope - she just took the reserved sign away! 4. Wine - the wine list had a range of wines on there - we ordered one from the list - 187ml Rose - but when we got the bill, we got charged more cause we were told we were given a 250ml bottle - couldn't argue as didn't have the original bottle - I think it should have been pointed out to me that what I ordered wasn't what I was getting. But saying all this, I thought what we ate was excellent and would definitely go back if the area. Mark
