Good pub, shame they don't do the Dartmouth burger anymore.

Roast dinner was awful,nut roast tasted vile,not enough gravy,potatoes hard as a brick,pork like chewing leather but the Yorkshire's and parsnips were nice but way too dry

Beautiful little pub,very friendly staff,we had the full English and it was worth every penny.highly recommend this it was the best breakfast I have had in years ,they do hogs pudding it was lovely

My partner and myself just had dinner here. The lady at the bar was ever so friendly and ever so helpful. The food we had very quick to arrive at the table, food we had was great and so was the dessert.

Just popped in with the dog for a quick drink and packet of crisps. Much nicer inside than the seating outside at the front. Inside main bar area is lovely and clean, staff great. Unfortunately let down by the toilets in desperate need of tlc. The floor area outside the toilets is made of some slick, greasy tile that is made worse by the fact it's very uneven due to the age (part of the charm) of the place. It was like an ice rink, a chap stepped out of the gents, slipped on it and hit the deck cracking his head on the toilets door, nearly knocked me over, too. Desperately needs attention.

Have always enjoyed dining out here, so we heard it was under new management so we thought we’d give it a second chance. What a change, it’s clean and welcoming bar staff. Two of us had the roast beef, very tasty from the local Halls butcher in town with a free meal for our two kids… value for money excellent, will definitely be returning Well done for restoring this beauty of a pub to towards its former glory of a real pub

This pub has reopened recently under new management and things are looking up.

Ordered a pint of beer that simply tasted awful and not right. After explaining I’d had it multiple times in last couple of weeks I asked to swap it and was refused, even with paying the difference! No refund offered when I asked either. It cost me £5.30 so would have assumed the least they could have done was swap it. Very odd indeed.

Locals pub, split into two. Has a pool table and a darts board. Spit and sawdust atmosphere it’s not a pub to take a date but more hard core drinking and getting rat assed.

Was alright for a few Guinness and a game of pool but nearly £7 for the pint (6.80), I've actually had cheaper in London this is extortionate, best going round to the other pubs on the high street.

One of the best carverys in town. Back to it's old owners and straight back to being one of not the best pub for food and drinks in town... Can't wait for the summer..

Old pub with friendly staff. They were having problems with the beer when I went in, ales were all off unfortunately. Function room and kitchen upstairs.

The pub itself is fine, but you definitely want to avoid the so called reggae/dub night. PURE BABYLON & we are all so disappointed. The organisers of this event should ask themselves this simple question, 'why do all the local people who love reggae, steppas, dub, dnb only come once & leave early?' Absolutely shocking

I went with a group of friends to the so called reggae/dub night, which we had been looking forward to for ages. But we were so disappointed, we left not long after we got there. The energy & vibe is Pure Babylon. As a lover of reggae/steppas/dub/dnb, I was left feeling so let down by the organisers, who clearly don't know what they're doing. Hail to Jah & Rastafari

This was once a beautiful public house, good beer, food and very welcoming. Now you can expect warm unconditioned ales cold interior and with no management it’s no surprise that it’s now run down and probably talk of the town for all the wrong reasons.

Was having a great time, had a few drinks, listening to a band, but some 'regulars' decided my dog was worried, I was told to leave by barstaff. My dog was a little worried that he will be taken away by these strangers, not about music. Will not be returning.

Taste of excellent food left satisfied room in side and full of character.

I have attended this place before and loved the Carvery and other meals but very disappointed yesterday lunchtime when I ordered food at the bar to be told the kitchen was closed despite the website saying it serving.

Visited this place on 14th September, for a family lunch. We had an excellent meal, with a good choice on the menu. The chef presented quality food. The staff were friendly and efficient too.

Lovely food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. Will definitely eat here again when I'm back in the area. There were so many food options!

Have gone several times before on Christmas Eve, but went the other day with my girlfriend on her birthday and family and was just as lovely!

We are further into the village at a campsite and were looking for a pub nearby for our last evening. We have Delicious food and not expensive at all. Pub is spacious and cozy with a large beer garden.

We thought the pub was quirky, friendly and inviting. There are many benches outside. Inside there are a number of areas to sit and there is also a pool table in the bar area. We had never been before and only had a drink. The menu looked good and value for money so next time we will eat and probably fish and chips as it did look good.

Great little pub!! Proper pub atmosphere and the food was fantastic. Toilets are upstairs, and plenty of seating outside too.

Slow service despite being fairly a empty lunchtime. Food was ok but nothing special.

Recommended by my partners family, we booked for a Sunday dinner. The staff were ever so friendly. We all had the lamb, which was delicious and resonably priced, and the blackcurrant cheesecake was also very nice. We will definitely return next time we are down here!

We booked for a Sunday roast ..but when we arrived they had sold out which was a shame ..but never the less what a place !!!! Such a great atmosphere and the staff !!! So so accommodating the lady and the gent was absolutely fantastic ..amazing manners and service was second to none ..and the food we had was absolutely incredible true pub food in a true traditional pub with a true traditional pub service !! Credit to the landlords/lady's for boasting an amazing staff team and credit to the chef's / cooks We will see you again .. Kathys booking !!

Down a small alley off the main street, this hidden little gem of a pub served fantastic food and a very good price. Emily was great and funny. The pub was so cosy and relaxing and our teenagers loved it. Worth a visit

Really hungry, the guy behind the bar was attentive and managed to have our food quickly. The burger was delicious, the chips tasted fresh - cannot fault this meal!

Today I was out with my family in Totnes, spending time together and going shopping. Before heading out, we already decided to dine out at this pub, well my mom suggested going here. I have been to the pub before, only once, I say around about 2019 or 2020, can't remember exact date. And we already been to another pub for the last two times so wanted to try somewhere new and different. When I first enter Dartmouth Inn with my family, we were immediately hit with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It made be a bit different from the last time we were here, but it still has a cosy feel to it. The two staff members who were working at the time were friendly and helpful. For example I ask where the toilets are in the pub and one of the staff member pointed me in the right direction. I went to the one on the ground floor and on the way there, you have to be careful of not to trip on any of the steps around the building. My grandad nearly trip and fell down on the floor from one of the steps along with me as well. Pus the toilet in the ladies has a weird sink which is attach to the toilet. Bizarre, never seen anything like it, any other eating place I have been to the two were separated from each other. Once sat down, we were handed a menu each and inform us about the special board, which shows what today specials are. From looking at the menu, I notice instantly that it looks different from the one on their website. Like for example some of the dishes were very different. For example, there was a dish which is simple to Hunter Chicken on the website, but not on the menu. I don't know if they know about this or I look at the wrong website, I just wanted to bring this up in my review just in case. But the menu does have a nice layout to it and plenty of options to choose from. So first we order our drinks, I ordered orange and passion fruit J2O. The staff member brings it over on a black tray and serve us the correct drinks that we have order. Next we order some food, I ordered an beef lasagne, one of the options from the the special board. The food was spot on, the lasagne cook perfectly and warm. Good portion of salad on the side and served with some lovely crispy garlic bread. Clean cutlery to use to eat my food with and an napkin to wipe my mouth afterwards. I definitely would be coming back here again and would recommend anyone to try this pub out.

Possibly the Best Pub in London.....not many others come close ....The Harp Charing Cross. Bus stops right outside The door!!!! 3 steps and you are in!!!! The Only Pub you can do that. Always a Magnificent array of REAL BEER!!!!

Did not even get a Drink the manager said she was not gonna serve me so I want to take a photo of her so I could advertise who this was one of the customers grabbed my phone and left her outside on the table in the rain very disrespectful what a rubbish pub I definitely won't be going there again

Really nice little pub tucked away in the centre of Totnes. Separated into 2 parts, with a bar on 1 side and the restaurant on the other. Loads of seating inside and out. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Nice and warm inside and has good lighting. Unfortunately no parking, but lots locally. Great 80’s music in the background. Nice fresh flowers on all the tables. Really close to the River Dart.

Always good food at this pub but last night was exceptional. Steak and mushroom pie and fresh homestyle chips! With peas. Followed by Saturday special free desert of your choice which was delicious. Under recent new management and so far very impressed with bar staff and food. A real lovely pub and all of their menu is reasonably priced. Good value. Can't wait to return.

Fresh and Filling Veggie Breakfast - loads of hot, pan-fried chestnut mushrooms, veggie sausages, baked beans, eggs, hash browns and optional toast - no microwaved mush here - all fresh and fried in a proper pan! Service with a smile. Lovely frothy, flat white coffee, too.

It was very nice. My step mum took me for lunch. We had baguettes. They were filling, reasonably priced and we can take the dog in. Service was a little bit slow, the lad couldn't seem to move away from what he was doing to serve us, but he was nice enough, probably still learning. Nice little pub, atmosphere was okay . warm n cosy, typical local pub feel.

Had a Sunday lunch here and when we walked in within a few seconds we had two members of staff tell us they’d be with us in a minute. First impression carried on for the entire visit. The roast beef was so tender and the veg cooked to perfection. My partner had steak, mushroom and ale pie and was so impressed by the heat and the taste was amazing. Followed by spotted dick and custard… can’t go wrong with a comfort pudding. Can’t thank Lisa enough for the welcome and will be going back while we are here.

Two apologies in 45 seconds for ‘keeping you waiting’ set the tone. Lovely staff, a decent pint of ale and a fantastic (and HOT!) meal - I had the pie my better half roast beef. We’re only in Totnes for 5 days but will be going back. Thanks especially to Lisa who served us, but everyone was friendly.

Amazing hearty big breakfast - black pudding, sausages and hash browns were a highlight. So good, great friendly service and we'll be back again to try more!

We booked for a family Christmas Lunch. Due to bus break down I was an hour late with my family already there. Lisa was excellent holding our meals til I arrived. Wonderful meal and atmosphere Highly recommended

Nice place, central location, empty when we went in. Annoying their menu online is NOT what is on offer but the food was nice and a rare thing for me is the fact that the chef actually knows how to cook a steak properly! Would go again if I was in the area.

we visited for breakfast after reading menu pub website. but when you look at the menu in the pub, it is smaller and no hot drink with it. it is not worth what they are charging and will not return

Used to visit this place regularly when living in totnes, visited yesterday when coming back to totnes to meet up with family, the smell in the building is terrible, if this is what the public areas smell like what does it say for the rest of the premises. It put us off ordering food so we drank our drinks and left, even the atmosphere of this once great pub has left the building

Another great meal on Sunday . Took friends with us who were also impressed . Will be back again soon . Brilliant for anyone who needs a gluten free option like me. Everything is still included ,even the Yorkshire pudding!!! Lovely friendly staff and great atmosphere .

No atmosphere limited menu pie chips peas chips hard peas hard no ale in steak pie steak far from tender a fellow guest same with there mash potato which appeared to be packet top crust of pie only covered half the bowl we truly believe this was bought pie crust due to the taste or lack there of no part of the meal me and my fellow guests thought was seasoned 2 members of staff who appeared to find there work laborious the reason for this comment is there is no plesenterious at the bar or the serving of meal we was absolutely appalled as one our guests had a small breakfast with toast and this establishment offered nothing but butter to summarise to pay 13 pounds for a half cooked meal with no seasoning and a small breakfast for nearly 8 pounds that was bland to say the least I find in today's economical climate absolutely appalling further more I expressed my displeasure to the barman on departure and confirmed my review of my experience would be extremely honest I also detailed numerous issues of the meal that I would be pointing out in my review

Booked out for my Nephew’s wedding it was lovely, lovely staff and really fresh homemade food and plenty of it.

A standalone pub, proudly occupying a space between two roads, with an entrance at each end. A couple of ales to choose from, plenty out outside seating for Alfresco dining.

My favourite pub in Totnes.Whiled away the time with a cappuccino in the sunshine at a table outside this charming pub.Nice that they have retained what looks like the original bar,whilst behind this the remaining areas have been tastefully redecorated

For me, there are two essential ingredients that make a pub worth returning to: a warm welcome; and well kept good beer. The Jail Ale was lush and the lady who served us was wonderful. And the fish and chips wasn’t bad either.

On a rainy day this is a great place to visit for a cracking Sunday roast. Typical British weather so eating outside was not on. Using TA recommendation we travelled from Brixham to Totnes for a classic British roast and was not disappointed at all. Loads local ales on tap as well which really helps any pub with visiting tourists. Lots of people eating and not a bad word heard from any. Plenty of locals which gives you confidence that they serve good food

My friend had taken me for a birthday meal, which was a total disaster from the second we walk in the door. Will not be going again.

Great place to eat and drink will be going back soon 👍we had the roast pork and beef dinner only can not say about the other dishes, but goi on our you will not be disappointed.
