Very disappointed with this place. No atmosphere. Very bland interior. Trying to be upmarket which isn’t working. The prices are way too dear. The waitress was very friendly which made up for the other faults.

What an absolutely amazing bunch of people, such friendly staff. This business is very well organised by Nicky and her team. They work tirelessly hard ! And are always welcoming when we come in for our weekly 3 teas 😃. Always smiling, organised and immaculately clean. Well done guys it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Paid for a giant pasty and got a burnt large pasty that was so hard it nearly broke my teeth on first bite. Must have been re-heated many times and went straight in the bin. Had a giant Dewdneys from Stoke recently and it was the real deal. Avoid this place as ripping you off on size and pasties fit for the bin.

Some craic In here. Good pints. Music was dreadful as some woman spent her wage on the jukebox.

The food was dry, the fries were old. 2x 4 pieces of chicken were ordered and only 2x 3 were brought. Drinks were forgotten. The kebab meat is a disaster and the sauces make everything worse

Avoid this place! Absolutely appalling service… we arrived and after being seated, I found that my chair was soaking wet after some spillage on it. My trousers were now soaking so I requested a towel from the smirking waitress to try to dry myself. Not put off, we ordered and after waiting 20 minutes (the place wasn’t busy…only a few day trippers) My scallops arrived and the waitress enquired “anything else?” And I replied; the rest of our meals please… you can guess… after reluctantly starting and eating slowly… nothing arrived. After finishing my meal, I asked the waitress again where were the other items we’d ordered… Sure enough, the remainder of the order was just sitting waiting to be collected. I gently expressed my disappointment to the waitress for the poor service and she quickly suggested a complimentary drink, which we accepted… Of course these complimentary drinks never arrived. During our wait I was able to witness other people being ignored, getting up and leaving without ordering, piles of plates filled with half eaten meals being noisily consumed by seagulls swooping down on the terrace tables, smashing glasses and crockery in the process. I enquired with my friends who live locally about the Boathouse and no surprise; they confivthat locals never frequent this establishment; the service and quality of food is so bad. My scallop meal was very small and totally unrecognisably from the description; no lime, no chilli in sight; just a few scallops in what tasted like a barbecue sauce; yuk!

Have always enjoyed the quality of the food from here and have been visiting in person and ordering online for many years without concern. Used to be all home made with fresh ingredients. Judging by the falling Trip Advisor score I now understand why my lunch today was so terrible. Low quality ingredients, prepacked, processed. My baguette today was of a lower quality than what you'd expect to find in a service station and they charged me around £7 (this isn't even an exaggeration). Bread was stale. Online menu halved in size. Was completely shocked today by how far this business has fallen. Have most likely spent thousands with them over the years but today will be the last time they get any of my hard earned cash! Disappointed.

Popped by here for a quick bite for lunch, met by friendly staff, got a good table, and considering the huge size of the place, food was served quick and was tasty too. Good selection for vegetarians too!

Have stayed here a few times in the past few years. It is no doubt a hugely under rated place to stay. It is a matter of what you prefer, a hotel with modern facilities or one with a history . My wife and I chose the latter and enjoyed the experience of staying in this finest example of beautiful Victories Gothic accommodation, full of historical connects including the first ashored survivors being rescued from the sunk Titanic, the Shackleton adventure of Antarctic...

Genuinely one of the best meals out I've had in Plymouth. Food? Delicious. Cocktails? Delicious. Service? Fantastic. 100% recommend and will be coming back.

Best breakfast bab after a cold swim down at Tinside beach. Beautiful panoramic views across the sound. One of my favourites.

Came to Plymouth for a day out today with my husband brother -in-law and sister we decided to have lunch at the Navy pub on the Barbican, as we have been there previously a few years ago and it was very good food.Unfortunately we could definitely say that was not the case today. It was a very disappointing lunch,we had ordered 4 steaks which was as tough as old boots!!!!!! and full of grizzle !!!! was very tough to cut came out slightly warm, mushrooms deep fried, and grease dripping out of them a complete waste of hard earned money will never go there again.
