Arrived with friends and were greeted at the entrance by a friendly member of staff We were invited to choose our table. Our orders took about 10 minutes to come. The food was excellent quality and nice and hot, good value too. We weren't hurried to leave and our experience was overwhelmingly positive. I would highly recommend a visit. If it is busy , good idea to book ahead.

Seat available straight away, ordered via the QR code, food arrived promptly. No one checked in with us about the food afterwards. I ordered the smash burger which was supposed to be two smashed patties with chorizo etc. The two burgers was actually one cut in half, so I had two halves in a bun, it did not fill the bun so half the bun had no meat 😂 the chorizo chunks were too big, thinner slices would have been lovely. My sweet potato fries that I paid extra for, were undercooked. My partner didnt mind soggy chips so she ate some of them but eww. The coleslaw is never good, I always try it and always wish I could spit it out. My partner ordered 3 tapas, the braised chilli was lovely but needed something with it, like some bread or a wrap. The whipped honey feta is normally our go to, but this one wasnt whipped. It hard large lumps in it, not good. The calamari was delicious as normal. Wont be returning to this restaurant for a while 🥹

I had a good first experience last year.. but came back recently and it wasn't good. Waiting time was very long, and I do understand it was a Sunday afternoon and/or shortage of workers, but we'd appreciate being told that the waiting time was over 40min long and the waiter told us that just when we were about to leave. We ended up asking for a refund.

I love this place. The food is normally very good and the staff friendly in spite of it often being quite busy. There was a hiccup on this visit though... my burger was well under-cooked. The staff agreed, immediately apologised and quickly replaced it. No fuss. Then they refunded us the cost of that dish. To be honest... this is exactly how it should be done and it has not put me off in any way with such a great response. There will always be problems in any restaurant but it is how it is handled that sorts the good out from the not so good and they did it right. Thank you. Looking forward to going back!

Attended with work. Group of 10 and were able to all sit at the same table in the back room. Wide choice of food with good vegetarian options. The restaurant was busy and the food took a while to come as the place was busy with a quiz going on in the other room. The food was really good and worth the wait. The beef brisket chilli is recommended. Definitely worth a visit plus dog friendly.

I’ve seen the mixed reviews but for me I’ve never had problems at Seco Lounge and always enjoy any visits. We arrived as a party of 4 early on a Saturday evening with no booking. We were seated quickly, ordered via the app & the drinks were bought quite quickly. It got really busy but I wouldn’t say the wait for food was excessive. We were all pleased with our meals which included the Persian lamb flatbread (delicious), tapas and chicken burgers.

Had eggy benny which for some reason is called "lounge eggs", should have been put off by the fact they think they are above calling a dish by it's name, but tried it. The eggs were overcooked, which is a first for me, and the hollandaise was tepid. The bacon was delicious but the rest let it down. Nice to have Clifton coffee and fresh squeezed OJ though.

We've used Seco Lounge for many years and it's always been a lovely friendly atmosphere, but the last couple of visits has been unpleasant, the music is so loud you can't hear each other and have a conversation. It's more of a disco atmosphere than a lounge atmosphere. Such a shame. It could also do with a deep clean, there's copious amounts of cobwebs in the windows and the mirrors behind the bar are dirty. Won't be returning to this lounge in the future.

Went twice within the same week and two different experiences..... my score is on the average. 1. Quick service in ordering drinks. Ordered food shortly afterwards but took a long time to come out and was cold, either delays in preparing food or short.staffed. 2. Stood in the queue for 10-15 mins to get served before deciding to leave. Good place to go when quiet but when it's busy expect a bit of a wait. Did have the option of an app orders, not an option I wanted yo go down as a visitor. Rec: Dedicated tills, tills for both food and drink others purely drink (where the gp is made) Do a product sales and reduce the number of menu items by 30%. Less choices and speeding up orders and turn around on food. Quality over quantity. But hey, just my opinion.

When we arrived, the lovely waitress who seemed to be taking it in her stride was literally running around to get work done in time. Credit to her, she had a smile on her face doing it. Very basic to cook food took 45 minutes to arrive, my moving mountains burger tasted great but it, along with the fries were stone cold. The waitress did a check back and I informed her so that the kitchen was aware and that I appreciate that they seemed understaffed. She offered other food but I didn't have time to wait due to an appointment and I was incredibly hungry having already waited 45 minutes. It would have been nice if money off my meal would have been offered or a voucher for % off my next visit. This place seems like it could be amazing but as with a lot of restaurants, they need to employ extra staff so that if one person calls in sick, they still have adequate staff and that extra person rather than extra profit would ensure a reasonable workload. The restaurant was not even half full so I feel for the staff when it's full. Having worked as a waitress during my teenage years, I really do feel for underpaid, overworked and undervalued service staff.

Today I visited your Armado lounge in plum as I frequently do and is usually always amazing. I wanted to make a book for my upcoming birthday. Megan the new manager was very rude and dismissive and she didn’t even make eye contact with me, sharp and very abrupt as if I was an inconvenience to her I could tell she was judging me and I very much hope it was not racially motivated that’s strongly how it felt which is unacceptable. I’ve never been treated this way there or in the seco lounge. But Megan was purely vile to me I’m so upset, disappointed . I simply popped in to ask to book a table for my birthday she ignored me for ages up to 30 minutes. This really needs to be investigated it’s unacceptable and could happen to more people and damage the brands reputation and the good genuine staff that do work there. Megan the manager was disgraceful

We came today for my birthday lunch, I was our second visit but this time I left a little more disappointed then my first visit. Price is great and the waiting/bar staff also, nice environment. Today I was served Luke warm fries which isn't rare in any food establishment, however when they were replaced they were also just as luke warm/verging on cold. It's quite disappointing as if someone brings up a lack of quality you would think it was a priority to return with an up to standard replacement. Again, this was not the wait staff, in fact I could see they were not happy about this on my behalf. A lovely gent brought over my hot ones and did offer us a drink on the house but we had to shoot off. Would still recommend as both times the mains and sides have been gorge, and the RWY setting is beautiful.

Went as a table of 6 (4 adults and 2 children). Staff were friendly and helpful. the tablet ordering was a bonus on previous visit (when you had to stand a queue to order). Menu is varied enough and the quality of food a prep was good. My grip is the acoustics of the place, all I could hear was the clattering of plates and the barista which was tiring and annoying as I couldn't hear the others on my table. Maybe sitting elsewhere like the end room would improve this. For two adults and two children to have a brunch was nearly £50. Overall a busy and bustling RWY staple, but probably not for me again.

The Seco Lounge in Royal William Yard used to be one of our favourite places to visit whilst in Plymouth, unfortunately there have been some decisions made around this business that are a step backwards, the removal of ordering from the table has made visiting here far less pleasant as you are now forced to queue at the bar and run to and fro to let who you are ordering for know what is and isn’t available from the menu, which is another issue as we had to change about 5 items on our order as they had run out.

Visited early on a busy Saturday evening. Was nice weather and all outside tables were full so we sat inside. Menus were laid out on the free tables and we could choose where we sat. Ordering was via a QR code which I know works for some people but personally I really don’t like them and would much rather place my order with a real person. You then pay for your food and drink but are asked to pay a tip. How do I know how much I want to tip before I have received any service at all. Not a good practice imo. Drinks were served quickly but our meals took around half an hour - they were very busy so understood why the wait. My food came out and the chips were piping hot but my steak was lukewarm - the plate was cold which didn’t help - and my husband’s appeared 5 minutes later so mine was then cold. Asked for mine to be reheated which they did but it came back with a large cold blob of garlic margarine on top of it - definitely didn’t taste like butter, more like Flora (other margarines are available). Staff were friendly and pleasant but kept very busy. Toilets weren’t as clean as they could be and only 2 cubicles which seems crazy for the number of people wanting to use them. Large water dispensers and glasses for you to help yourself from which was a nice touch.

It was clean and the staff was fun, helpful and smiley thr whole time we was there. I've worked as a waiter so I understand asking customers "was everything ok with your meal?" etc and to be friendly, but to then start discussing the cost of living and her financial woes in detail and to visibly see that we the customers were not taken to this and then to carry on was a bad reflection on her (or whoever coached Phaedra). Really poor. Came for a quick bar snack and a couple treats for drinks. Ordered a strawberry milkshake for my son, that was great. Worth the £5. Credit where credit’s due. However the £4 pink lemonade was undrinkably strong and sweet - so had to get 2 extra soda waters to make it drinkable (despite having an insanely sweet tooth) And the Halloumi Fries we paid £6.15 for (was just a side from the side menu, so wasn’t expecting anything more than a side - however priced at £6 you expect a handful of fries) yet it came out on a bowl smaller than my young sons hand. 3, I repeat 3 tiny single halloumi Fries on the plate. To which I questioned the waitress if that was really the £6.15 side I’d ordered - she said yes sorry love and hurried off. Staff were run off their feet so didn’t want to bother repeatedly - could sense how stressed they all were and how it’s clearly an overpriced generic place, where pride and personable attention isn’t prioritised, atall. One of those places where a pretty location and interior decor means things can be priced insanely apparently.

Visited as a couple on a Thursday morning. The initial greeting was delivered in an unfriendly loud manner, which clearly didn’t allow for effective communication as the apparent message about no table service wasn’t delivered. I went to the bar to ask for service to be spoken to in such a rude, pretentious manner, I appreciate that this didn’t bring out the best response from me, started an order, asked for water to be told there was a water station behind me, and there’s no table service “I was told this earlier” I wasn’t- or at least it was terrible poor communication, no customer service, the people ‘working’ use the term loosely clearly think the Secco Lounge is a stage, not a place to serve and look after customers. We left, opting to go to Monty’s on the Barbican where customers are treated brilliantly. Avid the stage that is The Secco Lounge!

The only downside to this lounge is a lack of decent desserts and cakes, but maybe that's just our opinion.

My partner and I visited seco lounge for dinner and drinks. Whilst the food and drinks were amazing as always our waiter completely ruined our experience we believe his name is Mike (the bald manager). It started when he was criticising our IDs telling my partner that he wouldn’t be surprised if he was denied entry with it (my partner is 25). Once we had eaten all we could, we stacked our plates and the waiter come over and said “I don’t believe you are finished because there’s still food left on your plates”. We have both been regular customers at seco for years now and this one experience has ruined it for us.

Recently went to seco lounge for a food and drinks, our waiter was incredibly rude and questioning my ID just because I had long hair in my ID picture. Then once we finished our food and our waiter who we believe his name is Mike (the bold manager) said to us “ I don’t believe you are finished because there’s food still left on your plates” I have been a regular customer for many years and this has completely ruined my experience.

A good place to visit in Royal William Yard here in Plymouth. The food is loverly and well cooked. The staff are friendly, polite, helpful and respectful. Plus the Seco Lounge is dog friendly. So your pooch is ALWAYS welcome. As well as that, there are FREE doggy treats readily available in a glass jar on the counter. There is metered parking clise to the Seco Lounge.

Had a delicious brunch here with my parents. I had the vegan breakfast, which is one of the best I’ve tried anywhere, and my parents both had the lounge eggs with salmon and they were very happy with their choice! The portion sizes are good, the food was freshly made to order, delicious, and brought out promptly. We also enjoyed the coffees we ordered - all in all, we had a wonderful time. Thank you very much to Pete and Emily!

We have eaten here quite often and enjoyed our meals. But this afternoon was quite different. I went with my wife and 2 daughters and was very disappointed, I had the Breakfast and although the contents were fine, it was served to me on a cold plate and therefore the food did not retain the heat while being eaten. My wife had the buttered chicken. Which was one piece of chicken a handful of fries and a spoonful of coleslaw. The chicken was dried out and stringy and what was on the plate was not worth the price. Such a disappointment.

Rude staff and the food is over priced and tight portions. Really rude staff that need to drop the attitude. We stood at the bar when 3 of them ignored us and what was the point of having a wait to be seated when there was no staff there. Food is bland and really small portions.

Sadly there wasn't much to rave about, we come here quite often but the quality of food seems to be going downhill...Average Sunday busy-ness expected at midday, we came for a late breakfast and waited about 45 mins. Breakfast was very poor. My partner and I both had the lounge breakfast, it was all overcooked. The black pudding was terrible, likely cooked in a rush in the fryer than grilled, how it should be. And the eggs were stone cold, it wasn't an enjoyable meal and I had to leave about half of my food.

This place is such a vibe. Great atmosphere and good food. Absolutely loved the tapas. Always a treat after a good walk in the Yard. Staff were friendly although our orders took quite sometime to arrive. Good value for money. Outside seating is perfect in the summer with a lovely view of the ocean.

This is a quirky little local pub with a really friendly local crowd. The staff here are all wonderful and so willing to accommodate. The bar offers a really good selection of drinks, and I’ve been told that the food here can be quite good. made a visit on a Friday, and it was a sling with energy, but not uncomfortable at all.

We ordered haddock and chips early evening. Very busy that night. The food arrived in a large stout paper carrier which was OK but the fish and chips were in a shallow brown cardboard box which had been wrapped tightly in kitchen foil. As soon as we opened the box it was obvious that both the fish batter and all the chips were soggy and damp. The box was 2/3 covered in oily maybe vinegary stains. This had the inevitable effect of reducing most of the attractions of fish and chips. The paper bag and the cardboard box are both sensible ways of keeping the chips and the batter crispy. The foil destroyed it all, even if there were good intentions of keeping it all warm. Whenever I use a chip shop, I turn away plastic carriers and decline advance salt and vinegar. Perillas or their delivery teams need to scrap the foil. About half the haddock survived in a palatable condition.
