It was very enjoyable and highly recommend the staff were all lovely

We sat in the conservatory which was very pleasant, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced , I would certainly go back again .

Booked a table got the one I asked for food was great would definitely do this again very friendly staff and good service.

Nice place to meet up for a lunch. Very busy at times, so service can be a bit slow but if you are with friends and not in a hurry it doesn't matter. Excellent fish and chips at a very low price

Brought burger and gammon off the 2 for menu, burger was lovely, chips excellent, onion ring superb gammon and egg really well cooked

The whole experience was lovely staff so helpful and friendly food was lovely would definitely recommend The Bank.

Today. The Grandchildren had Burgers with smiley Faces followed by their usual Ice Cream and Chocolate Sauce.. My son had the Fillet Steak Baguette. After the meal there were smiley Faces all round. Scott, Tanya, Casey, Sarah, Summer and the Staff we didn't see worked their magic making everyone feel welcome. Ray should be proud of his staff.

A great pub couldn't fault the food nor the aesthetic... great for an afternoon or evening...food was gorgeous 10/10

Went for a day out in Plymouth and called into the bank for something to eat and 9 drink. I have been here before a few years ago and really enjoyed it, I am glad to say it's as good as it was then. Good selection of food and drinks, good atmosphere both inside and outside in the beer garden. We'll worth popping in if you want a nice friendly meal and drink in a city centre pub.

* I feel like my original review needs updating as we have had some pretty sub par experiences since. The staff and service is still the same friendly familiar faces but the menu has gone down hill. It may have changed again but last time we were there it seemed like the menu was written by someone who had no clue. Cheese burger spring rolls? They were as gross as they sound. My friend ordered them as part of the tapas/light bites menu. The other bad sign of decline which I felt was a shocker, the beer and burger deal was removed. I rarely had an alcoholic drink but I did have a coke. Knowing you could get a coke and a burger for cheap was a part of going there. Instead, their burger prices seemed to go up and you had to pay 3 quid odd for a coke on top. Given that a spray of syrup out the tap is basically pennies, this feels unnecessarily tight. I may have been inclined to go back and check the menu refresh after a while as I know they do it every season or so. I could have stayed off the cynicism and thought the odd menu choices weren't driven by price. But the removal of this basic deal just seems like taking the p. *Original review - The below was the case. Good reasonably priced grub in a usually quiet setting. You know what your getting. We have been often having a drink and a bite after work one Fridays. The bank is central enough and cheap enough for everyone's needs and so it has become a bit of a favourite. Mostly thanks to me I think. I think of it a quieter weatherspoonsy type place. You know what your getting every time. Having said that. The food I would say is a better standard. The pic is of some sort of burger, calamari and onion rings. I often order too much but still power through. *Not so anymore. I'd also recommend the tapas menu as the dishes I've tried on it have all been great.

Visited for the first time yesterday evening for dinner and was extremely impressed. Ordered the mega mixed grill and everything on my plate was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! Really friendly staff who were very thorough regarding allergens. Would highly recommend and will most definitely be visiting again! 🙂

Good value food. Ideal for pre or post theatre food if attending Theatre Royal. Furnishings and decor a bit tired.

Came in to have lunch with family , David served us , such a polite ,cheerful and generally lovely person .

The pub was quiet but David behind the bar was a breath of fresh air. We actually stayed for another drink because of this young man. Look after him, he's a gem.

Lovely little local pub. Food is actually alot nicer than the menu does justice. Decent booze and sound service from the barman. Can't fault the place.

Interesting re purposing of an Old Bank Building, hence its name. Reasonable menu and fair drinks prices. Service good and staff friendly. A cut above the two Weatherspoons in the town .

As always, the staff went above and beyond to make my visit an enjoyable one. They are a great staff and nothing is to much trouble for them. The food was of an exceptionally high standard, would go so far as to say it was higher then restaurant standard. There were some challenging customers, that day, but the staff remained professional and calm when dealing with them. I frequent The Bank at least once a week, sometimes more, and I can honestly say that the service, staff, and management are a real credit to the company.

Sadly the updated menu is not nearly as good as it has been in the past. Still, the staff are friendly and it's a lovely place to have a few easy drinks with friends at any time for any reason.

A busy thriving traditional pub playing on its incredible historical architecture of previously being a victorian bank. Standard fare and reasonably priced, with the Tribute ale meeting requirements. It's worth a visit

Nice English pub vibe. Large open space with different atmosphere if you're upstairs, downstairs or outside. Clean venue and nice staff. Male toilets could do with being a little bit brighter, struggled a little to see where I was going. Would definitely go again.

Georgia never stopped in all the time we were here. Food pipping hot! Friendly and helpful staff! The owner even stopped to have a conversation with us all whilst being with a very busy pub before a theatre show! Always has and always will be a go to place for me and my husband! Especially with the added advantage of being able to pre-book!

We were up in Plymouth for the weekend for a friend's wedding.we had a couple of meals here.and the food was fantastic.we will definitely pop in again nxt time we are in Plymouth.

In Plymouth for the weekend. Recommended by the Imperial Hotel staff. Decided to go with the tapas (small plates) section of the menu. Really surprised to see a dessert in this section, but what a great addition. Had king prawns, burger spring rolls, mushrooms, tortillas, croquettes, chicken bites, and two profiterole desserts. Drinks were very reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly and so accommodating. The food arrived quickly, hot, and was served with a smile and was delicious. The other food which we saw come out looked great too.

Good location and atmosphere. Well worth a visit. Very clean and service is good. Also has a good selection of drinks . 😊😊

Hidden gem. It doesn’t look like a pub from the outside, then you go through the doors and it’s like a Tardis. The service was good and waitresses were lovely. Food was also very good. A very local and friendly atmosphere. Also, upgrade to curly fries if you can, you will not regret!

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The menu was varied and reasonably price. Our meals arrived in good time, there was plenty, it was hot, tasty and well presented. Draught beer was good, coffees delicious and our puddings were to die for. Highly recommend the Guinness brownie…wow!

Tanya was very helpful and friendly, such a shame the food was not great fish was nice and the curly fries but that was about it.

Easy booking and helpful advisories prior to arriival. Barmaid who we met with on arrival and that served us was reslly rude and arrogant, just paid to serve not to listen to customer feedback is what we were told, also expected my dad with disabilities to go downstairs and choose an ale rather than recommending one, undoes the helpful service from lady who put us upstairs for ease of access due to disability in the first place. helpful young lad called over to table during food, refunded mums meal without quibble, agreed food was not cooked, undercooked prawns with an overcooked exterior, also, looked like the chef had sat on them before they come out, but prawns come flat now apparently, menu changed 6 weeks ago we were told, burgers on menus are now boring and dry, beef patty is under half the size as it used to be, felt like I had a salad sandwich for £12, notorious pig removed and replaced with cheap alternatives, onion rings could taste the flour used, been coming here for over 10 years but no more, very disappointing, assuming kitchen staff replaced (like bar staff!!) always top notch food and excellent service but experienced something at the opposite end of the scale on this day. Thank you to the x2 members of staff that were helpful, lady that booked but was not met and young man that had flat, dry, undercooked prawns refunded.

Fantastic place, stopped by on Wednesday and Ollie behind the bar was very friendly and knew just what drinks to recommend.

We went to the bank on Sunday for a meal, the service was outstanding, Ive genuinely not felt so welcome in a venue like this for years! I’m not normally big on leaving reviews, however I felt this was needed. The food was outstanding! There was a young lad working there with red hair (I didn’t catch his name) he is a credit to you, so friendly and helpful, he always had a smile on his face , this day in age service staff are overworked and underpaid so they often don’t appear happy in their work, but this young man was exceptional. Thank you for a lovely dinning experience

Felt I would write to say how disappointed we were today as the lunch deal which included a drink had stopped and a new deal of 2 mains for £12.50 has started but you pay for a drink. Similar menu but such a shame as we were regular visitors and now we will go elsewhere. I think they will lose quite alot of customers with this new deal

On arrival we were given a very warm welcome and shown to our table, the ordering process was explained clearly.

An excellent managed and friendly pub nice and cosy serving a delicious 😋 breakfast menu using good produce which leaves us full for the majority of the day. Staff are friendly and very efficient with a well organised hands-on manager.

New menu alert!! It was slightly disappointing as they have removed the firey fries and dirty fries on the tapas which were both amazing, but still plenty to choose from.

Popped in for a drink and thought that the staff who were so busy were great. They never stopped hustling to get everyone served, remain polite and professional at all times and created a nice atmosphere for all the theatre goers. Must pop in and have something to eat next time I am in Plymouth!

Having lived in Plymouth in the 70s, I return often to see shows. I chose the bank again and wasnt disappointed. I had a delicious Irish breakfast/brunch. Staff were really welcoming and freindly and the atmosphere was lovely and relaxing.

Becky, kelly and the whole bar staff were amazing bartenders. They gave us amazing recommendations from flavoured gins to tasty cocktails. Would 100% come back here again. The staff and drinks are worth the trip.
