Delicious food and great service.

We regularly eat at m&b locations, The Bank always stands out. Despite been busy at meal times, the food is always hot, fresh, service always is excellent with a few words and a smile

The staff are extremely friendly, the food is very good. Great value, 5 stars all around.

Popped in yesterday before theatre. Food was great and hot and the service was quick and efficient. Will be back very soon

Friendly welcoming staff very accommodating.. good selection of beers. Food very good don't have to wait long for meal to come out and it's always hot and tasty especially the Macci cheese and garlic bread! The venue itself is clean and comfortable and near public transport and several car parks. Good to go before going to nearby theatre perfect

Today I had lunch with my friend at The Bank it was so very busy the only table we could have was by the door, a drinking table really, ( one of those high ones,) we sat there with a drink looking at the menu's . Shannon one of the waitresses there noticed us sat at the awkward for eating table , came and told us a nicer table had become vacant upstairs, as we are elderly , not moving too quickly she took our belongings put it the chair of the vacant table to secure it for us. We were so grateful to Shannon for being so thoughtful and helpful to two dottery oldies. Thank you Shannon for your consideration and kindness, we enjoyed our lunchtime meal and consider it and the value extremely good...... see you next time I venture into Plymouth 💁‍♀️

I have went to the bank many times before and went there again today. We were served by Becky. She always gives great service and is always happy to go the extra mile for her customers. The food served here is always fantastic and they are great when it comes to anything allergen related. Thank you.

Barmaid extremely rude, ordered two drinks, she served them 2 metres away and looked at me to come and collect them!!! When I got there, my change was a Scottish note (totally acceptable in a Scottish pub) seriously? I will not return!!

Had lovely meal in here recently. Great deals on aswell for food & drinks. Staff very friendly apart from one that slammed our cutlery on the table!! She was obviously having a bad day! Great atmosphere, will definitely be returning.

Food has definitely gone downhill, curly chips obviously been reheated, overcooked outside and cold in the middle. Ham was covered in what appeared to be some kind of garlic, which completely ruined it, and not sure why or what they were trying to hide.

We have been here a few times now, always good food with friendly staff. Good value and good portions.

There was people seating at the table when it was booked. The food was nice.

I used to love this pub, it was always good value for money with decent food. Today I was ripped off! £10 for a coke and vienetta dessert that was 1/8 of a full one with a dolop of cheap whippy cream. £5.25, it must've cost them 50p! Disgusting. This is a clear rip off and I don't like bring treated like a mug!

Top marks for service and the quality of food being served at this establishment. Highly recommend the fish and chips, along with the gammon with pineapple, if you are in the city centre and fancy something to eat,you can't and won't go wrong with visiting the bank, a special mention to Shannon, who goes above and beyond for her customers , and always with a smile.

* Dec 2024 I have updated my review to reflect some better menu options and good value thanks to accepting discount schemes. The usual friendly and helpful staff of course, as before. Never had any issue with that here. This seasons menu, too, has some really nice offerings. I had the Irish sausage and mash and it was lovely. If I could nit pick it would be the whisky sauce / gravy , there could have been twice as much. It was soo delicious. Plus, being in the Education sector , I now carry my blue light card/app at all times which they accept. This brought my meal and drink down to 7 quid something!? Brilliant. *Original review - The below was the case. Good reasonably priced grub in a usually quiet setting. You know what your getting. We have been often having a drink and a bite after work one Fridays. The bank is central enough and cheap enough for everyone's needs and so it has become a bit of a favourite. I think of it a quieter weatherspoonsy type place. You know what you're getting every time. Having said that. The food I would say is a better standard. The pic is of some sort of burger, calamari, and onion rings. I often order too much but still power through.

Great pub and they sell 19 crimes wine, what's not to like.

Went for meal before show . Not busy worse fish chips I have ever had. The batter was soft ntot crispy like it should be. Seems like it was put in the microwave to warm up. Shocking won't be eating here again

Is difficult go to eat alone in a busy place,like this, you have to go to asking for good. They never pick up the phone to do a booking. The food is right, typical food for a British pub!! Just a bit better that Witherspoon...

Tried the Vegan pulled pork taco's, found a chicken drumstick, waiter insisted it was "fake meat" making me feel quite the fool whilst she went to the kitchen "to check" Cross contamination is possible, and although I didn't mind too much what was worse was not being listened too properly after the fact. Ask the customer to identify the problem, rather then insisting there isn't one My mum had the steak which although was cooked well was tough. The food overall quite dissapointing and very overpriced Had to ask twice for dessert to come out Do not recommend

Today. We are experiencencing the end of the month. where we are skint. However, my Grandson enjoyed the BBQ Chicken Wings and Chips. My son and I enjoyed the Beer. Tanya, Christina and Casey went out of their way to make sure everyone had a great time I am sure that all the staff I didn't see, did the same. The weather was horrible, but the staff brought sunshine to everyone.

Ray and the Team went above and beyond to cater to my unusual dietary requirements. The bar staff were kind, courteous and well trained. Christina went the extra mile to take my food order at the table since I have limited mobility. Thank you so much for making lunch with my Granddaughter such a lovely occasion.

We go quite a lot before theatre etc, but this was the first time we'd booked a table and this is definitely the way forward, no complaints at all, quickly got served and our visit was pleasant.

Went to the bank for food, had the chicken, ham cheese pie absolutely lovely. Really nice atmosphere and staff were very friendly.

The Bank...It holds a very special place in my heart, it has fed and watered me, well mainly watered me, with alcohol, but not like the watered down stuff you get in Spain and the like, for decades. It has also played host to some of the finest talent Plymouth, and dare I say it, the South West has ever seen....Birdman's 'Footloose' and Carol's 'Simply The Best' from the fabled Wednesday Karaoke nights are quite simply the stuff of legends. I have ended up with the bestest of friends anyone could ever ask for in no small part because of this place, so many fun memories, and so many hazy memories, and far too many forgotten memories... actually maybe you should water the alcohol down like Spain and the like, then I might have actually remembered some of the nights out, although Relflex, Flares, Two Trees, Goodbodys and many others may have also had something to do with it...but you made me go to these places...but only until two obviously, because nothing good happens...

Couldn’t ask for more from a ‘city centre’ pub. Whilst this pub might be a ‘chain,’ the atmosphere created by the staff makes it feel like a friendly and welcoming local. There is a good selection of beer and ale, that are quite clearly well kept as the taste is always a crisp one. Good selection of food, too. Thank you for the consistent friendly welcome.

Had dinner at The Bank before seeing a show at the Plymouth Royal Theatre. The staff were friendly and welcoming, our order was taken and our food was served in good time. The food was lovely and well presented. The toilets/washroom were very clean. Overall we had a really enjoyable meal and would definitely go back if we are in Plymouth again.
