Malcolm Barnecutt in Plymouth

Ordered a bacon and egg bap. Eaten better ones at truck stops!! Over cooked bacon, overcooked egg and served some time after my wife's food was served which was also poor. (see photo) Expected better for the cost

First of all everybody was lovely and the food was great. I had a bacon bap wich was absolutely lovely the bacon was nice and crispy just how I like it. Definitely a 5 star rating

I visit the Plymouth Malcom’s regularly on a Sunday and at other times in the week. All the staff are amazing. The Sunday team are lovely. A big shout out to Sue. She is always so helpful and is always happy to have a natter to me. The food is amazing too. The only place now I can get a Congress tart and it is lovely. There pasties are the best I’ve tasted.

Sue greeted us at the front of the restaurant with the most beautiful energy. Both my children ate steak pasty which was the most freshest and delicious I have ever tasted. The luxury hot chocolates are out of this world and wow to my breakfast bap. This is going to be our new regular hang out. Thank you

As a regular customer We will not go anywhere else the service is first class the Staff are wonderful they can't do enough for you very polite and helpful and the greeting you get from front of house is superb we have no hesitation recommending MALCOLM BARNECUTT to family and friends

Possibly the best pasty I’ve ever had. Beautiful pastry, lovely filling. Not cheap but it is a really high-quality pasty.. They ruined me for other pasty shops!

We always pop into Malcolm Barnecutt for the best pasties in town. There is a wide variety of options available to suit all tastes. The team are really friendly and there's plenty of seating if you want to eat in. A great spot for breakfast or lunch - oh and lots of tasty cakes too!

Have been regular customers since they opened and always visit when we are in town, At least once a week we have always been treated with nothing but a friendly welcome and a great level of service. can not speak highly enough of nicki and all her staff without exception. would highly recommend a visit. Just went in for a coffee while shopping and decided to have a ham roll, the roll was delicious and well worth the money, the coffee was the best I have tasted for a long time and also hot, the staff were very polite and although very busy still had time for pleasantries, there was no dishes left on the tables after customers had left, very clean and the ladies was large, very clean and big enough to take a large wheelchair, well worth a visit I shall be going again many more times, thank you Malcolm Barnecutt and staff.

Best pasties 💚💚 full stop 👍I have been having these for over 25 years originally from Bodmin, I have never ever had a bad one ever 😂😊 the staff in Launceston are fantastic but there are a couple in the Plymouth store who are a bit dour in their manners but it won’t stop me buying my coffee and pasty there and sitting people watching 😂😂💚💚

THE TABLE SEATING AND HAVING TO WAIT TO BE SEATED NEEDS IN MY OPINION TO BE BETTER ORGANISED,PEOPLE WERE TURNING AWAY YESTERDAY ON SEEING THE QUE AND LOADS OF EMPTY TABLES BUT STILL HAVING TO WAIT TO BE SEATED ,BUT HAVE TO SAY THE FOOD DRINK AND PRICES ARE GREAT

Where do I start?! It transpired that we arrived half an hour after closing time. That said, we were still given the warmest of welcomes. During our visit we spoke with Sue and Charlotte and the Manager Nicky who are lovely ladies. It's got an amazing friendly community feel. The drinks we had were lovely but Malcolm Barnecutt Plymouth offers so much more . . . With the way of the world; cost of living and lonliness pandemic, for anyone who could find a little money for a hot drink, they'd be guaranteed to leave feeling warm in so many ways. Well done ladies, your customer service and charm is impeccable. If I lived closer I'd be visiting every week! Keep up the good work in serving your community 👏

Sue is fabulous made my visit from start to finish memorable for all the right reasons I keep coming back just to see her she’s incredible she’s one of a kind once met never forgotten

Very friendly staff and a great Pasty! Sue kept the restaurant very organised and showed us to our table. Nicky’s pasty’s were perfect. A great place to stop with friendly and welcoming staff. We will return.

the woman on the door is so rude .we asked for seating for 6 ,she said well 4 of you can sit there & the other 2 can sit in the window ,i replied that we would like to be together please . she took us to the back of the restaurant & said very rudely "is that alright" admittedly i was not looking impressed ,when she turned around & said rather loudly "you look annoyed"! Everytime we go to the plymouth branch & she's on the door ,there is always a problem ,that she seems to make up herself! this is not the 1st time we've encountered her rudeness either . We spend a considerable amount each time & would love to be at least made welcome .

Visited today and ordered two large steak pasties to take away, we often have a Barnecutts pasty when we are in Bodmin or Launceston and have never had any complaints but the two we had today had probably less than 1 gram of meat between them, I was about 2/3 through mine before I discovered the first morsel of meat, I had been wondering if they'd served me a vegan pasty instead, luckily I found another pea sized morsel just before the knob end but my partner wasn't so lucky and didn't encounter any at all. No complaints about the pastry or the overall taste of the pasty which was right on the money but when you're charging £5 which is a premium price for a pasty then you should at least give the customer what they paid for.

Upon being greeted, my mum and I were asked where we’d like to sit and pointed to a table of four (there were very few tables taken up). The woman questioned why we wanted a table of four when there’s only two of us, and did this twice. She said “you have the whole cafe but you can’t sit there”. With the rudeness, we decided to eat elsewhere but the woman blocked my mum in and said she didn’t want us to leave! I am appalled by this customer service and will not be going back.

Very cold . Had to ask were are order was . Asked at the till for our order asked for runny eggs . Came out ocer cooked . Burt arond the outside . Not been there dor a year . Will not enter again

You get there about 3:30 there clearing away closing down when there cues of people coming in there taking all hot food off when could all be sold and make you feel you have to rush as they brush round your feet

Found today what a relief, on the outside looked too trendy for us but gave it a go, from being shown to a inside table by friendly waitress to having our order taken we were met with warmth and friendliness. The price's are reasonable and the quality of the food was excellent, just found our new eating place in Plymouth.
