The reason im giving this review a 3 is: staff were so busy serving in the pub they hadn't time to check us in and we had to wait around in pub. The room was clean but the toilet made random noises which were really loud. Shower leaked. Stool at dressing table had a wonky leg. The room was quiet despite football semi final on but the room you couldn't open the window. Great location though.

Small old pub . During Summer tables and benches put out across road near Mayflower Steps. These are order at bar , delivery by staff. Crab sandwiches are delicious. Friendly staff. No car park but up the road metered parking. Pub is on Barbican hence lack of parking.

Nice little pub with amazing atmosphere

An 'interesting' odour is present that seems to originate from the toilets. Staff were constantly spraying air freshener to mask the smell, but they need to fix the underlying issue.

Without question, the best position in Plymouth. I have had many a stay in the Admiral and plan to have many more. Always spotless. My go-to place to enjoy life.

Ace little pub to stay at. The room was great with a lovely view across the harbour on the Barbican. The car parks are close by, did a couple of laps and we got a space. Would defo stay again

Never stay at this establishment. We thought a night in a pub in the centre of the Barbican would be fun. Payed far to much to sleep on a piece of foam with a rock for a pillow and a computer screen for TV and paper cups to make a coffee in

I stayed here in the single room, revisiting after my husband had died. We had had 2 stays here and loved it. The staff are lovely and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Great value.

Always a good place for a drink, especially at Christmas. Great atmosphere with the sound of people having a good time. Looking forward to the summer where you can sit outside on picnic benches in the sunshine.

Good budget rooms very clean. Comfortable bed and good shower. No breakfast but short walk to cafes

We had a nice stay in a room for 2 days, wonderful wiew, wondeful staff, wonderful beer….hope to come back with some friends next summer!!

Quiet for a Thursday night be the Admiral McBride is a stalwart ofvthe barbican pub scene. Good service and a great view across the water. Well worth a visit

Popped in for a quick drink on a nice sunny Thursday evening. Man behind bar was genuinely welcoming. Good beer. Enjoyed a good traditional pub. While a clean and decent interior, you can’t help but think back to the history of the place and the great sailors that will have drank her over the centuries.

Good amount of outdoor seating across the road from the pub. Very quick service. Nice place to stop for a cocktail or two.

Nice little bar on the edge of the popular Barbican.... It's location means it's less busy than the other bars in the centre area. Ideal bar to drop in for a quick drink whilst you are on the move

Very lovely and accommodating. Check in wasn't next to be untill 15.00 but due to going to a wedding I needed the room sooner they made sure my room was ready for me and my daughter at 11.30. Also I was pleased to say it wasn't to nooseither being above the pub! The only small thing I'd say is the room was a lite chilly

This little gem has (what tourists don't know) is where the real Mayflower steps is hidden, only fortunately men can't go in as its the ladies loos. The drink menu is classic, local and extensive and its right next to the waters edge. Their Tuesday pub quiz is excellent! Had a great time the other week attending.. And... Winning.. Tehe.. Classic and lively pub for locals, younglings and oldies alike

It's all about the location and it can't be better. Pay for the rooms with a harbour view - it's worth it! Parking is an easy walk and cheap considering the location. Photo is a morning view across the harbour.

Friendly pub, good choice of drinks

We sat across the road in the last of the summer sunshine. Pint of Inch’s cider and a G&T carried over by the bar staff. Very nice

Great live music on a Friday night

Saubere und schön eingerichtete Zimmer. Wir hatten eines mit Blick auf den schönen Hafen. Die Straße ist nachts teilweise störend.

A great place to be based in Plymouth surrounded by plenty of bar, restaurants and cafes. The room we had, had a great view of the harbour and concidering it was above the bar it was not noisy at all apart from the early morning seagulls. The room Was cosy with small but functional ensuite bathroom. The only downside we has was there was no air conditioning in the room or a fan as we went down during the recent hot weather we have had and even with leaving the windows open it was still very hot in the room. Apart from that we can't fault it, but they don't do bed and breakfast it's just room only but there is plenty or places to go eat nearby

Proper quality authentic pub on the Barbican, well worth a visit.

Not great. Only ale available was tribute, despite Jail and Shingle Bay pumps on display. Can't say I'll be in a hurry to return.

Sauber, tolle Lage in der Ausgehzone. Der Pub scheint nicht so angesagt. Abends leer. Zimmer mit Meerblick unter der Woche zu empfehlen. Hintere Zimmer nur anscheinend ruhiger, leider gibt es dort eine Klima/Kühlanlage, die gefühlt durchgehend läuft.

Pleasant friendly staff although When I popped in tonight Thursday at 21.50, last orders had already been called, a quick pint and I left. Had I had known I would have stayed in the previous pub.

RIDICULOUS waited 2 minutes to order a drink food wasn’t great didn’t have carbonara or nuffin barmaids hothouse

Very nice place with a lovely outdoor seating area. I am gluten free so decided to go with a GF barbecue Chicken pizza. Beat GF pizza I’ve ever had. Staff were really nice and friendly. Definitely will be coming back!

Stayed in the area for work, good selection ales, proper pub atmosphere just off the busy marina, outside area you can sit if you like to enjoy the weather. Amazing selection of music while I was there.

Old fashioned wood panelled place. Was very quite when visited but that was what we were looking for

My daughter treated me to an overnight stay and the location is amazing. It suited us well for a night out at the Plymouth Pavillions. The room was clean and comfortable with nice bed linen. It's probably not the place to go if you need a quiet night as the Admiral MacBride pub and Barbican are lively and buzzing but we were out late so found it ideal.

Nice inside, but 1st choice of ale was off, don't do coffees and no food before 12:30.

It's a brillant place to eat your lunch outside on there benches. They allow you to bring your own food as long as you buy drinks from them. They are very accommodating and worth stopping by to have a drink or 3 🙂

Room was very clean, lovely views of the harbour. It's an old building so don't expect the Premier Inn. For the money it is very good value right in the heart of the harbour. Tv in one of the two rooms we had was very small. Would stay again.🙂
