Stoke Bar and Grill in Plymouth

Is not called Stoke bar and grill anymore, is now just the Stoke bar, not changed any over the years, clean and tidy, great entertainment, friendly and welcoming host and staff, friendly locals and a great range of drinks to chose from.

Ordered online, nothing arrived, denied receiving my order & hung up on me….very disappointing

Stumbled upon this pub, after travelling down from Yorkshire for the Plymouth v Leeds football game. Warm welcome from the staff and locals. Good beer at reasonable prices. We paid £5 each for the beer, burger and lift to ground deal, what a great offer. An hour before kick off, landlord informed our party of four, the bus had broken down. We didn’t mind tbh, a burger and pint for a fiver was still a great deal. He only went and organised lifts to ground in cars for us. What a great guy, highly recommend this place to away fans

Over priced, toilets dirty and not checked, urine soaked toilet and toilet roll, still not cleaned a while later and had the added bonus of vomit in the hand sink, dirty bad over packed with people and not enough staff to be safe

Amazing Atmosphere. Went as away fans was a mixed crowd of fans, all getting along. They did burgers for everyone and was a pleasure being involved seeing the landlady getting engaged! Congratulations and will return on our next visit!

Excellent, Takeaway, great staff. If you are visiting Plymouth and looking for Halal food, then this is the place. Great donner and Pizza as well as burgers. Thank you guys for an excellent service

Think there is a transitional period where it has recently been taken over. Not great at all. Toilet doors that you cannot even close. Very limited drink selection. First time there... will not return!

I held my Retirement party here yesterday afternoon / evening we had a great time lots of room over 2 floors the food was great everyone enjoyed it the planning of the party was very easy with lots of advice on food options a great venue with lovely helpful staff could not ask for more many thanks to everyone for making the start of my retirement a happy memorable one

Nice little place for a Sunday dinner and a pint. Very friendly staff.

Had a carvery here two weekends back and it was very nice. The meat was lovely and was given thick cuts. Not fatty or chewy at all. The staff were very pleasant and giving - overall really nice and will go back.

6 of us booked for a meal here last weekend and had a really great Sunday lunch - very friendly staff and a delicious roast meal with all the trimmings - huge portions! I would definitely go again and highly recommend it.

Went before Argyle, pint, burger n chips, and coach down to the game. Great staff and atmosphere, the ideal place to visit pre match. We will be back for more 🙂

Fantastic place to be on NYE 2023 🥂🍾🎊 band was amazing on stage & the atmosphere was electric when the bell hit midnight so much tasty food & the bar staff were friendly definitely coming back & would highly recommend 5*

Had food delivered, not even warm, chips were rubbery and freezing, never again. If it was my pub, whoever sent that food out would be sacked on the spot.

My first visIt to see The Dualers (Tyber & Pete). Great venue and very friendly. Good bar staff and prices. Had some Dpicey Chicken & Chips in a basket which was yummy. In sum: me and the Mrs had a FAB evening and will go again.

Enjoy the carvery here can be a bit hit and miss .the majority of the time it has been a hit.always has a standard meal which has been plenty goodness knows what a large would be. Limited deserts when I visited .

The view that this place has from its terrace is impressive, one of the best in the area.

We had a roast delivered today and can honestly say it was the best roast we've ever had everything was beautifully presented the delivery was bang on time the meal was delicious we will 100% be back congratulations to the chef and delivery guy well worth the money thankyou

Came here as part of a Birthday treat to see a Queen Tribute band. The front seems really quite small but once inside it’s really quite big, pleasant decor and welcoming staff. The menu is very impressive, lots of choice and I have to say really good value and well cooked. The bar staff and management team were friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was pretty upbeat. I have to say the tribute band wasn’t the best but that wasn’t the fault of the venue and if I see another tribute band I would definitely look to come back.

I moved into a flat close by and regularly visit on a Sunday for a lovely roast dinner carvery or a cold drink or a beer and she watch the TV and enjoy the people that have treated me with so much friendship

Had a very nice Steak lunch and a couple beers. Background music was a bit more than back ground and was too loud (nightclub loud)to be able to chat across the table. It was a public holiday so maybe not like this all the time. Extremely busy at the bar but you get served in a timely manner, From what I saw all the staff in this establishment work extremely hard and are very efficient at what they do and in my opinion you're made to feel welcome. Reduce the music decibels a little bit and the dining experience would be great. Would definitely eat here again and hopefully the music will be at a level where you can converse across the table while enjoying your meal.

The worst meal we have ever seen let alone tasted! Potato's black on the outside, hard on the inside, cabbage unrecogniseable white mush, Parsnips so charred there was nothing inside, Gammon dry & gravy very peppery Will not be repeating the experience. £30 into the bin. Shame on you for serving it r

My friends & I decided to go for some breakfast today & chose The Stoke Bar & Grill. What can I say except delicious & very good value for money. I opted for the traditional breakfast & it was fantastic. Good quality bacon(thick slices) & the sausages were fantastic...full on meaty proper sausages. Nice runny egg, doorstop toast, beans, tomato, crispy hash browns & a big flat field mushroom £7.95! Still feel full now. Excellent service, & quick to get the order out. P.S. where did you get your plates please cos I love them haha. Will definitely be returning

Had our first breakfast here today and most definitely won’t be the last, the food was great and staff were friendly , definitely recommend a visit.

Reasonable price beer and great atmosphere

Learned from social media that they have just started opening for breakfast Wednesday to Saturday & as we had enjoyed previous visits decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed! We both had farmhouse breakfasts (see pic) it arrived piping hot, well cooked & not at all greasy. The ingredients were all good quality & very tasty. Will definitely be back again, would highly recommend if you like a hot tasty breakfast.

Had lovely carvery here yesterday which we all thoroughly enjoyed. There was such a variety of meat and vegetables and all served with a smile. The price was very good also! The staff were very welcoming and attentive. I would recommend this as a lovely midweek roast, or maybe any day!

Last night my partner a friend and I visited Stoke Bar and Grill for the first time to experience their newly started midweek carvery. All staff were friendly and welcoming and the carvery was amazing. Choices of a standard for £8.99 and a large for £10.99. Two meats, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, roast potatoes, carrots, cabbage, parsnip, swede, broccoli and cauliflower cheese and thick gravy. Food was hot and full of flavour. Left earlier than I wanted as was so full..booking again for Sunday

Did the breakfast with santa on Xmas eve. Went with friends and we all had a great time . Breakfast was great too.

Ordered hunters chicken with chips. It came covered is salt, well to much for the average person let alone someone that doesn't like salt like me. When I took it back and spoke to the manager I got told "well don't eat the chips then, what do you want me to do" I asked for a refund for the £12 as i was unable to eat. I got given £3 "just because i am busy and need to get on" appalling customer service. Never eating there again!!!!

Had a 3 course Christmas meal with Sean and The Terrace regulars and friends, delicious meal, great service and wonderful atmosphere, brilliant entertainment from Andy Marshall. Outdoor totally recommend to all,

Went for a spiritual group Christmas meal. The food was fantastic and great value for money. Extremely tasty. Waiting staff were extremely friendly and professional. Can rate this place enough.

Great place for a night out. Went to hear the band Complete Madness who were excellent. It was disabled friendly and the meal we had beforehand was excellent. All in all it was a fantastic night.

Beef was raw and very tough the turkey had been cut up and recorded in gravy it was awful I always have roast turkey with a carvery and was disgusting.

I go to plymouth as my husband works there he always takes me to here for meals . I can't fault them and you get loads really worth it and staff friendly

Awful. No atmosphere, all chrome and plastic, no food available after 8:30 in the evening, incompetent bar staff who couldn't pour a decent pint, and £4.30 for a (mostly froth) pint of bitter and a bag of crisps. Avoid.

We visited for the long awaited Riviera Dogs gig and you did not disappoint!! It’s an amazing venue and the staff are all so friendly and welcoming. Riviera Dogs were obviously brilliant but the whole night was well worth the wait!! A great first night back out!! THANK YOU

delivery driver was lovely, normally love their kebabs. Looked banging was loving it until I noticed my chicken was literally pink/purple. Phoned to dispute this and they said they can send me out another one at 21:30 which I obviously didn’t fancy eating this late. They said sorry for the inconvenience bye ….
