Lovely friendly local pub. Excellent service, really enjoyed the meal. My only comment is that the vegetarian menu is very limited

Sad to say that Pinky Murphy’s is no more….it was a super quirky cafe come coffee shop come artistic venue. Guessing Covid, Brexit and rent all had something to do with its demise.

Really lovely pub. The staff were all friendly and welcoming with the drinks being cold and refreshing and served quickly. The Food was really tasty and a great portion size. I had the Kings Crown and it left me feeling full while my partner had the loaded fries and had to take them home in a box! Would really recommend for anyone staying in any of the nearby camping sites like we were.

New year's meal, for a party of 8. Could not fault this fabulous pub. Great welcome and atmosphere. Food was superb (esp the arancini), good range of wine behind the bar and excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble. Cannot recommend these lovely people enough.

Excellent food and service. We were warmly welcomed into the restaurant and took a table next to windows overlooking the estuary. Initial drinks and food order taken with starters arriving in good time, chicken parfait was truly wonderful and well presented. The main course of flat steak with pepper sauce was outstanding with the green veg medley being tender and tasty. Well attended to at the table and politely wished well as we departed. Had lunch a fortnight before this in Padstow and to be honest The Seafood Restaurant came nowhere near the standards set here. Well done to the staff for making lunch very enjoyable.

Amazing food. Beautifully cooked and presented. We had crab with runners beans to start and one pork and one sea bass as main. Chocolate mousse as dessert. Open kitchen and they cook on a barbecue. We may try to sit at the bar next time to see how it's done.

We went to the Crown five times to eat during a 12 day trip to Cornwall. It was walking distance from where we were staying. We also just went for a drink on a couple of further occassions. I can't recommend it highly enough. Our hosts and their staff were delightful. The environment and atmosphere are great. We had lunch three times, which was beer and sandwiches. Gorgeous sandwiches (Prawn and Crab, Beef and Horsradish and Cheese) washed down with delicious Doom Bar ale! We had our evening meal once, which was excellent (their scallop starter blew away Rick Stein's cafe!!) and also one Sunday Dinner. The food was great all round and they also catered very well for my vegetarian wife. Lovely comfortable restaurant area, and great, measured service. Also very grateful that they confined the families with out of control kids to a particular area away from us during the Sunday Dinner. The weather was pretty dreadful for most of this holiday so The Crown was a welcome hostelry to adjourn to. Thanks to everyone there. Hopefully be back before too long.

The last time we visited The King of Prussia in Fowey it was a pub. On this visit we looked in and discovered it was now a restaurant. I hadn’t researched it in advance but booked a table for four of us for that evening. What a great find. The food is extra special; quality ingredients cooked to perfection and presented with style. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the front of house staff excellent. We had a great evening. I can highly recommend.

Walked along the beach on a clear and chilly night. Came into The Ship to warm up and ended up having dinner. Best Steak and Ale pie I’ve had in a long time. Full short crust pastry(none of this puff on top of a bowl nonsense), steak was soft and tender and the gravy was beautifully flavoured with ale- Hopefully the Proper job they have on pull. Have been here before and will be coming back again. Service was warm, welcoming and helpful. Thank you and see you soon.

Went down for dinner on the evening we arrived. As we were the only people dining at the time we were given a choice of tables. Drinks order was taken promptly while we chose from a fairly extensive menu. Drinks promptly arrived and food order was taken, but there was then a twenty minute wait before the food arrived. The food was only just about average, given the price of the courses I truly expected better. The fish and chips was not freshly prepared with the batter being hard not crispy, the fish itself was over cooked, it had obviously been kept in an oven after being cooked. the sausage in the toad in the hole was not of any high quality with a lot of rusk in the filling. Breakfast the next morning was acceptable, again the sausages were not the best. I feel that this could and should be addressed as the quality of ingredients is a lot lower than the prices applied to meals The restaurant staff were helpful and polite in general but I do not enjoy being referred to as “ my darling” by the person waiting on at breakfast, in an hotel of this stature I would expect sir and madam to be a better choice of address.
