Pasty Presto in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Looking forward to my pasty but when I ate it thought it was a vegetarian one as there was virtually no meat content just potatoes and onions. The seasoning was good. For the price I paid it was seriously disappointing. Won't be purchasing again.

Cafe over two floors (not obvious). Great hot drinks, cappuccino in particular was creamy, the right strength and hot.Reasonable choice of savoury and sweet pastries. Staff were a bit grumpy and monosyllabic.

A very friendly warm welcome from two lovely ladies both called Lucy. I had an oat milk flat white which was perfect!!! 😀

Very, very rude young lady with dark hair served us. When we entered the shop, it wasn’t clear where to queue - it appeared there could be 2 queues. So I asked where to queue for coffee and was told ‘you can get back in this queue and wait your turn’. I was astounded at this response. I was not trying to jump a queue, but simply ask where to order. Then she proceeded to tell us it was ‘take away only’ even though there was an empty table. When I asked if we could sit at the empty table her reply was ‘well you’d better be quick then’. Her overall demeanour was shocking. To add, our friend used the toilet which was on the first floor, she saw several tables free in that area. The pasties were mediocre, coffee mediocre and a place not run very well operationally. We visit Fowey occasionally but will not be returning here. There is no place in hospitality for rude communication.

Highly disappointing as ordered a lot of stuff and they don't take cash 😥 Sorry no busy from me then , not everyone wants to pay by card so you should offer both

I had a wonderful flat white coffee served by the amazing Cory. I’m very fussy about my coffee and there is nothing worse than paying for a bad one!. Cory took the time to ask me how my coffee was and was so chatty and friendly to everyone who came in even though it was nearing the end of a busy Saturday. I also had a lovely chat with Ellie who was again a real credit to the business.

Exceptional service every time. Visited this bakery twice in a week one where becki served and she did not disappoint coffee exceptional food amazing and the service second to none found out later she's the new manager .. so expect fantastic service went in again on 22nd no manager but cafe was spotless service exceptional and coffee fantastic unfortunately didn't catch the servers name. But just shows how incredible the staff are in this bakery that it's just as exceptional whether their manager is there or when she's having a day off standards do not slip a sure sign of a great team and a great manager that is respected by her team. Well done to you all have a fantastic Christmas and we'll see you in the new year for more amazing coffee

The Cornish bakery in Fowey is a great place to go for lunch or coffee and cake -coffee is always perfect and the pastries and cakes are the best —-Becky and Katie and all the team are amazing -your always sure of a warm welcome and amazing service -it was Fowey Xmas market this week end -and them girls worked there little socks off -they deserve a medal -and still found time to make everyone welcome -they are great ambassadors for the Cornish bakery -hope they are appreciated by them !!!! Becky is an outstanding manager !!!!!

Fantastic cafe with great staff and lovely atmosphere. Coffee and croissant are the best. Becki the manager keeps things running smoothly and efficiently.

It’s as though you’re putting them out! My wife said “clinical as opposed to warm and friendly” and as usual jaded, older women or very young girls who have no experience serving you… as locals, we won’t be coming back!

Nice little cafe with a decent latte and good selection of pastries. Plenty of seating and staff were pleasant and professional even though they were quite busy. Will definitely return to try a pasty next time!

Nice looking bakery very welcoming from the outside of the shop, brought sausage rolls and Cornish pastries. There were very hot however very greasy. I probably wouldn’t return.

Went to Fowey yesterday and our usual pasty shop had sold out ,so we purchased ours from here for the first and last time.First of all they were boiling hot ,but very small ,such a tiny amount of beef but dry as a bone way over cooked ,other than ginsters past us this has to be the worst pasty I,'ve ever had ,,gonna stick to philps

Wow! We stopped off here for a pasty and a custard tart and were blown away! Such fresh, tasty food. Would highly recommend. Absolutely delicious! Went back for more!!

The staff at The Cornish Bakery are amazing - so professional and friendly! The pastries and veggie pasties are perfect, and they certainly know how to make a proper flat white. Sad to hear it was Tasha's last day as she was so upbeat and welcoming.

We went in the morning, looking for something to eat for breakfast. Everything in the display windows looked great and we had a hard time deciding what to choose. So we need up ordering quite a few items.The ladies at the counter were really lovely and attentive, and everything moved quickly.Definitely the place to go for a delicious breakfast.Oh, and the coffee is amazing!!

The centre of Fowey has seemed a bit bleak during lockdown , but the Cornish Bakery has kept open serving coffees , cakes and crib for the locals and workers while visitors have been away.Always happy to serve and cheerful despite the despair

if you love a pasty .. this is the place to be!! almost worth the trip to fowey just for the experience of sitting on the beautiful quay to eat one ... and my offspring are fans of the fresh croissants. the staff are always so happy too!!

Visited twice during our stay in Fowey - both times the young staff were absolutely lovely and the coffee was great! The bakery is dog friendly and our pups were treated to a biscuit too. Highly recommend this bakery cafe!

We come to Fowey every few months to stay in our holiday home, and The Cornish Bakery is often the place we go to for coffee and snacks, as it has the space and decent coffee. I can’t help but feel disappointed by today’s visit: I was almost made to feel guilty for wanting to eat in and felt like I was being reprimanded by the pinky/orange-haired girl for the fact that my family had gone upstairs whilst I ordered (surely better to clear the downstairs of people?! And there was nobody else waiting for a table so we weren’t skipping a queue!) There were no smiles, no welcoming faces, no kind words. It feels like COVID is taking away some people’s (businesses’) personalities, when surely they are needed now more than ever...

Nice pastry and well seasoned, but I had one piece of meat about an inch squared. And it was even at the end of the pasty.

We always get pasties from the Cornish Bakery when we are in Fowey, they are always very tasty. The set up for COVID-19 was really good, very clear and felt safe. The staff are all really friendly. Will be visiting again!

Very friendly staff as soon as we arrived. Great measures in place to ensure those who are seated complete track and trace information which was very welcomed. We ordered a sausage roll, a bacon/leek/cheese pasty and two coffees which were all hot and tasty.This company also offered emergency service discount which was excellent and a real credit to the company. Would definitely recommend!

Well I ordered a traditional Cornish pasty. What I received was an onion pasty with 2 of the smallest bits of beef you have ever seen inside. Would not recommend

We visited the Fowey branch of this bakery and enjoyed a lovely lunch of pasties, tortilla and Welsh rarebit. Everything was very COVID care aware which is super important in feeling comfortable to eat out at the moment. On top of all of this when I left I forgot my bag containing gifts and clothing. When I returned several hours later the staff had kept my bag behind the counter for me - what a relief! They wouldn’t accept a tip ( against company policy) so I just want to say a very big thank you for a lovely lunch and great customer service!

“In early to beat the rush. Me and my brother both took the bacon roll and hot drink deal. The quality of the bacon is superb and you know the coffee beans that are used is also top end (Union Coffee). Awesome cappuccino which was done to perfection. The staff are helpful and friendly as always! Awesome display and great smells when you walk in to this bright beautiful coffee shop! Well done to management and staff.”

Of course, a Cornish pasty when visiting Cornwall is a must. We had the traditional, but the many other options looked yummy too, glad we are here for the week to try a few more.

I visited The Cornish Bakery in Fowey today with my parents and sister, who had recommended it for my Mum’s birthday treat. I reached the cafe only seconds after my Mum and sister, who were choosing a pastry. I immediately noticed how the man serving seemed restless and impatient. He seemed to be trying to chivvy them on with phrases such as “what do you want… are you ready yet?” His manner was shockingly rude as was his body language, and he became irritated when I told him I was still deciding. I gave him my drink order whilst I was choosing my pastry and received no response from him at all - or any attempt to start making the drinks whilst we chose our pastries. He had no manners whatsoever. No ‘hello’, ‘thank you’ or ‘please take your time, would you like some advice?’ I felt under pressure to choose quickly and chose something I wouldn’t normally eat! When my mum was paying, a second person (female) appeared aloof and also slightly irritated. When I asked her what the problem was and voiced how unhappy we were with the man’s service, her reply was, “the staff are very busy trying to set up the screens in the cafe, and he did ask you several times what you wanted to eat”. I was flabbergasted, and reminded her that my parents were elderly. Her reply was a very scripted “I’m sorry you feel that way”. There was no explanation in regards to any maintenance or the placing of screens. My advice would be that you shut the café whilst doing this sort of work or maintenance, or politely explain the situation to your customer. Such a disappointing experience, I will not be returning.

Best coffee I've had in Cornwall. Had a flat white and a rarebit to eat. It was absolutely delicious. Family all enjoyed their pastries and drinks too. Highly recommend. Many thanks!

We dropped for some coffees but i got a Cornish pudding as recommended by Becky and it was amazing. She was very friendly and sorted us out very quick so it was worth the wait in line for a bit before we got on our way back home. This was our first time in cornwall and the only place we visited for coffee so we at least know where to go for a solid flat white when we’re back!

Very tasty pasties, sausage rolls and scones. Visited in August on a very wet day, long queue out the door in pouring rain. Unfortunately no tables available upstairs, so couldn’t eat in and make use of gov scheme EOTHO, so paid full price for take away. Shame they couldn’t offer this for take away. Seating limited due and precautions of how many allowed in the shop only 1 family at a time. Not sure why really, as with a distance could serve 2 families at a time like supermarkets. Staff friendly enough.

A wet and windy trip to Fowey was saved by our trip to the place! A family group of seventeen and there were no complaints whatsoever from anyone about the array of baked goods we bought. The staff were very helpful too.

They do an awesome vegan pasty - a curry type with onion bhaji and cauliflower. You can find this pasty at other venues like lands end and saltram house but it is great value here. Also they do a lovely croissant that is vegan which you can find in Coffee #1. I'm glad that there are vegan options as they never used to do them so I would definitely reccomend a visit!

Great choice of pasties, cakes and lovely Bacon rolls, friendly service , you even get tubs of clotted cream , jam with your scones to take out, along with knife and napkin , so you can picnic on the harbour enjoying the view. we had take out food, 2 breakfasts , 2 lunches , and 1 brunch.

Love coming here when we’re in Fowey. The Cornish pasties are delicious, the coffee is great and the Cornish pudding is an absolute must (it is to die for!).

A wonderful experience thanks to the delicious range of food and Becky making me feel right at home. Definitely coming back.

In the last few days I have purchased a pasty or coffee here and have been pleased with the service and Covid 19 safety precautions in place.

I was so happy to hear that the Cornish bakery was open so I popped down for a pasty and cake and I have to say I was no disappointed the staff have all safety procedures in place and made you feel so comfortable especially in these times.My food was amazing. Bonus key workers get 50% off so make sure you take your ID with you. What a lovely thing for them to Do will definitely be back soon well done guys

Went in yesterday after it had been closed for nearly three months due to the coronavirus. It was lovely to see the friendly staff. Good coffee and cherry and almond croissants.

It was great to see The Cornish Bakery reopen after lockdown, having seen all the preparations that they did to make us safe when we went in, it was lovely to go and get our coffee's once again, all the staff have been well trained so thankyou Lou, Becki, Laura and Kerian.

We visited The Cornish Bakery in both Fowey and Falmouth.Although it's a chain, it has a wide range of pastries. The coffee is really nice and you really have to try the Cornish pudding, which is a recipe from The Cornish Bakery.It's a dog friendly place.
