The best restaurants serving British food in South West

Last year we discovered the unattended converted horse box near Devonport Park but in January we found the established shop/cafe in Albert Road. Very friendly and good selection of food all home baked. We think round the back of this cafe.

Wonderful little deli in Trull. Not a great fan of pizza generally but the “special” that we enjoyed yesterday was up there with the best. Well done all at Sara’s Kitchen. We will certainly be returning.

Tiny cafe, friendly staff. Jacket potato was good, although the grated cheese was still chilled. However, this cafe gets the thumbs down from me for charging an additional pound because I asked for extra butter for the potato. It wasn't even real butter, just a smear of marg in a plastic pot. As a result I wouldn't bother with a return visit.

Brilliant food, must try the chicken wings and the Mac n cheese. Staff are really friendly and attentive 😁

I can only assume there is alot of snobbery regarding these places, foods great,staff are very helpful and friendly, don't know what the problem is?? Cheap too,,often visit..

Abi was great, so friendly. It was such a busy afternoon but she still had a smile on her face and kept going.

Had drinks good choice ,not expensive,relatively busy ,but staff cope easily

Great lively pub with friendly bar staff, tasty bar snacks and the drinks prices are very good. Juke box is fantastic, always hear some great tunes in there. Good night out all round, and in the day.

Thank you for another fantastic stay with friendly staff providing great service. It has been a pleasure staying and food is always excellent. Well done to Greene King for preserving this wonderful building with historical significance, it is a privilege to visit with so much history. I would recommend a stay at the Bell to anyone. I was a little anxious with the low score on the reviews. I must say it isn’t warranted. Just had Sunday lunch (23/02/25) and the food was great, hot and fresh.

Lovely place for food for the family

Great breakfast in immaculate restaurant.

Great place but only been for breakfast they do the best and cheapest eggs benedict.

This is a lovely cafe, stairs a bit steep, lovely selection of cakes and charming staff. sadly the coffee is not very good
