Queens Hotel in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Went to watch rugby, plenty of space and good atmosphere. They did forget our food order but rectified it really quickly and we're super apologetic! Nachos for the win.

The food was simple pub grub, cooked well, at a reasonable price. The pub was a traditional drinking house with live bands, sports TVs and a pool table, but what stood out was the excellent service, particularly from Yas, who went out of her way to make us feel at home. Thank you.

A nice little pub in the middle of St Ives, with reasonably priced bar meals. The pub has a pool table and a few screens for watching sports. The barman was really friendly and helpful too.

This is a very impressive building from the outside although once inside looked quite run down. We only stopped for drinks as there was no atmosphere however everywhere looked very clean and the service was friendly.

Nice looking pub from the outside but absolutely zero character inside. American grunge music dominated and the food offering was largely burgers. It deserves a four star rating only for the beer which was excellently kept. The Barman/landlord was one of the friendliest and most helpful I’ve met on my Pommy land travels. Cheers

Standard SA brewery pub, large screens showing sport. Clean and tidy but a tad expensive as are most SA pubs.

Came here to watch the Champions league, nice atmosphere, but the only thing I would say is the whole place had a strange smell, quite similar to a gents urinals, like the old fashioned cubes they put in the toilets. Apart from that great pub.

It's getting better in the queens every week. Friendly staff and good music , brilliant 😃 After posting this I went in to watch Joe Dukes gig on the next Saturday.. The gig was busy and very well attended. The bar staff rang time at the bar and closed the pub at 10pm... Why on earth would you close a busy bar an hour early after paying for entertainment and the place was buzzing, 3 staff on so can't be short staffed as an excuse.. Picture of sign outside says we close at 11pm .

Lovely pub. Dog friendly. Not too big. Friendly staff, well stocked bar, great food and good (muted) sports selection if that's what you like. Snooker & Tour De France on separate screens when we visited. Cool music selection; right up our street! Highly recommend.

Great little pub. Cheap and good food. Lots of sports on TV and music is not too loud at lunch so you can have a nice relaxing time

We went there for dinner today. We discovered a fat green live caterpillar in the side salad of the ham and tomato baguette... unfortunately that doesn't speak for the hygiene in the kitchen. No mineral water on offer. Service was friendly and there wasn't a long wait.

Popped in for lunch, decided on pepperoni pizza, the pub was quiet, deadly quiet. TV on with sports. No atmosphere at all. Ordered and asked if we could have chips with the pizza was told that they don’t do chips !! When the pizza arrived 30 mins ish. I asked for ketchup and mayo which took just as long. Food was generally ok but felt like I was eating in a library

Great place to nip into. It was warm and got us out of the wind. Very good service. Really friendly staff The bonus was I beat my husband 3-0 at pool.

Can't believe anyone would eat here, the whole place smells like a gents toilet, in fact the gents smelt better than the pub, drink and staff were fine, but left after a pint, good for sport, maybe better off putting the TV'S in the toilets

Popped in for a quiet pint and game of darts on a Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Very quiet which suited me. Very expensive compared to other similar venues in St Ives.

We was staying at the Carbis Bay hotel and wanted somewhere to watch the darts final. The man on reception recommended the queens bar. This bar was perfect, it had lots of screens around the pub and it was busy with a good atmosphere in the pub. Great beer and we had 2 pizzas as well which was really nice. We will definitely be returning to this bar in the future.

The best sports bar in St. Ives, football, rugby, F1. Great atmosphere not overly expensive fir St Ives, and lots of screens and good var service 👏. I've not had the food, so I can't comment.

Only visited for a few pints and to watch football on Sky. Pleasantly surprised - great pint of beer (Tribute) and friendly and pleasant bar staff. There were others beers on hand pumps as well. Worth a visit.

A local pub with a pool table, televisions for sports, live music and Laphroaig.

We had a wonderful time there, staff very friendly and welcoming when we came in July this year, can't wait to try the menu . We will be back next year..

Recently watched the England game here, really nice spacious light pub with a good pool table and a few good screens. Didn’t eat here but nice selection of drinks.

In the heart of St Ives it's great to see a good, old school pub. With the kitchen being refurbished I'm sure it will be even better once finished. I wish the new manager all the best. We'll certainly be back.

Very clean, friendly staff and manager. Plenty of choice of alcoholic beverages. Plus coffee and live sports.

Two nice at Austell beers on tap. The 90s indie music was the main draw though. No food but very nice.

Highly recommend, lovely pub, great choice of drinks and fab atmosphere. Lovely pool table my family and I spent a couple of hours at only 50p a play was shocked it was so cheap.

Was booked in today for Sunday lunch. Had many here over the years. Got a call at 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon ‘just to advise we no longer do Sunday lunch’. Booked a month previous, no warning on the website that they no longer do Sunday lunches. Then left with no where to book Sunday lunch due to how late in the day it was. Thoroughly disappointed & clearly an issue for them otherwise they wouldn’t be ringing up to tell people. If you change the menu so significantly it’s usually worth putting a disclaimer when you book…. Not less than 24 hours before.

Young lady who booked us in was very pleasant. We were told where our room was and it was clean but very tired looking. Very much in need of updating. The shower didn't drain the water away so you had to be quick so as not to flood the bathroom, also the radiator was dangerously hot and the light over the mirror wasn't working. Windows were very hard to open and were running with condensation in the mornings. The guests entrance was via the road into a small grubby alleyway then through a very tight firedoor. The stairway to our room was very grubby and difficult to manage with suitcases. There was a huge pebble on the landing of the first floor obviously to use as a doorstop! Fire Regs!!! Photos of the paintwork on the doors attached, they've probably never been cleaned. All in all not the best of stays which is a real shame as location is perfect. Would not recommend.

We had Sunday roast here! I’m coeliac so need gluten free food, this place is great! GFO on the menu and all I couldn’t have was the Yorkshire and the cauli cheese. Gravy was amazing and the beef was so tender! We all loved it thanks :)

This is quite possibly an overlooked little gem of a place!! We visited St Ives a little while ago and the town was totally rammed with visitors, so much so that finding anywhere to have lunch was virtually impossible, but up a little side street was this place, didn't look much from the outside but inside was totally different, a proper, warm Cornish welcome and good, wholesome food!! We'll be back again, no question!!

This is a very tired hotel in need of a tidy up, a lick of paint and the carpets on the stairs and landings being cleaned or replaced. Breakfast was good and the lady that was there on the first two mornings was efficient, courteous and helpful. The same can not be said of the male member of staff working on our first night. He treated us appallingly and we were residents! He gave a masterclass on how NOT to provide good customer service and it soured our visit. It also cost the hotel money because we were determined not to have the same experience again and so we eat all our meals elsewhere. He was shocking.

Not a pleasant experience - payment for drinks demanded in advance and sloppily presented. Worst of all and beware, if you eat here your highlighted bill “total” will includes their discretionary service charge and the server will take that payment without a question. The printed bill is provided to deliberately mislead you and is a disgraceful, sharp practice.

Very limited choice of food on the menu and no specials on the board . We sat next to a speaker which was playing hard rock we waited about 15 minutes to get the attention on the waiter to get a drink . The chicken burger was a dry piece of over cooked chicken with a bit of tomato and a stick of lettuce . This used to be an amazing place to go and eat . Lively and buzzing with plenty of specials on the board . We tried for about 30 minutes to get a second drink but then gave up .

Did not stay at the hotel but had a meal and drinks there on several occasions during my stay in St. Ives. The view in the public areas of this hotel is stunning literally everywhere you sit down. Particularly I liked the roof terrace that overlooks St. Ives harbour. Had beef burger and chips for late lunch - regular pub grub really. Friendly staff, good service.

Popped in for lunch after a long morning. Picked up menus from table and checked time. No lunchtimes specified. Chose our food, went to order and was told lunch was only served til 2. Went somewhere else. They should have taken the prominent menus off the tables between serving times. We've eaten here before in the evening and the food was delicious

The service was ok but our meals, both the sausage and mash seemed not freshly cooked. We were at this restaurant on our first night in St. Ives and decided not to return as all the places we visited after were better for both service and food.

Went in to have a drink. Asked if it was dog friendly. When they said yes, I explained we had to leave as my husband is asthmatic. Got laughed at by one of the the bar staff.

Stayed for a weekend in a room for two at the Queens Hotel. The check in process was smooth, and our rooms were tidy and clean when we arrived. Breakfast was very good with a good selection of food and drinks. Wifi was a bit spotty, so beware if need to use internet while staying here.

Great location, nice rooms and pleasant folks. I recommend parking at one of the lots BEFORE you drive into the village and taking your luggage with you. There's no place to park in front of the hotel.

Not as busy as some of the other pubs/restaurants in St ives so a bit more of a relaxing atmosphere than in some place. Good choice of food and decent drink options.

We went in here for a quick drink while on holiday. Staff were surly and unhelpful. Not welcoming at all. It was like they were doing you a favour by allowing you in the door. Tables were left uncleared even though the bar staff weren't busy. Drinks were relatively expensive. We only stayed for one and promptly left. Wouldn't go back.

The service was very efficient and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was good quality and they made allowances for some dietary requests

Booked Sunday dinner via Facebook messenger a couple of weeks before our holiday in St ives, quick response and confirmation. Food was amazing, best beef roast we have ever had. Great quality and price. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely return next time we are in St Ives.

Fantastic Sunday Dinner, random visit to book, to be honest wasn’t sure how this would be with it not being a carvery. The food was fantastic, tasted great, superb quantity, great service. I would recommend this Sunday lunch to anyone, fantastic value for money

Have previously given this place 5 stars for food and service as we always eat here when on holiday. Comedy of errors tonight so just one star. Arrived at 5.30 for table for two booked in advance. Shown to smallest table in the place with overhanging shelf that reduces table size. Ordered drinks and service seemed slow. Three staff on but guy waiting tables was doing so in slo motion. Meals came out but didn't seem particularly hot, just seemed as though it was either kept warm or warmed up. Couple on table next to us had half their bill mixed with half of ours. When it was our turn to pay guess what? Yep mistake again and drinks missing from bill which i owned up to. Then Mr speedy was turning away residents that had booked even though there were empty tables available. Luckily he was saved by one of the waitresses. The residents then had to keep returning to the bar due to the slow service. Good place gone bad. Such a shame.

Excellent room and wonderful breakfast. Very friendly staff. Booked again for next year. Also had Sunday lunch, never been so full, brilliant. What more could you want?

We had a beautiful Sunday roast here, we were fit to burst ! We returned on Thursday evening for the quiz night, really good fun great staff !

It looks very ordinary from the outside - just another hotel. But when we went in, the staff were very welcoming and the table layout created a lovely atmosphere. The food came fairly quickly and was excellent, and good value too.

Been going for years when holidaying in St Ives, eaten bar meals and Sunday lunches, consistently good and staff usually bang on it. Like having a drink there too and well stocked bar 🍸 🤪

I ordered a burger that came to be one of the driest thing I've eaten to date, I won't say I enjoyed the food I was served. The onion rings were baptised in some kind of ancient oil, I'm not kidding, I almost threw up. The décor of the place was lovely there was some thought put into it.The location is really close to the beach, walkable to most car parks nearby as you'll find out parking is a night mare on busy days so you'll have to prepare well ahead of time.

Stayed here for one night on Easter weekend. The staff were lovely and welcoming and the room was quirky and cute. Some little things need fixing and look a little run down but nothing drastic and we were even lucky enough to have a small sea view from our window! Breakfast was good too. In a great location in the centre of St Ives with a 5 minute walk to the harbour. Would highly recommend!

Very central pub with rooms. Convenient for us as we were walking the Southwest coast path. Very good breakfast and friendly helpful staff. Room was small and there is no lift.

Wonderful staff and great beers, they take care of their lines, awesome, one always enjoys a pint there. Went in again today and a very good pint of St austels proper job, and the guy who served me had good bants.

Having spent another Christmas in St Ives, we were looking for a pub for food and then drinks with family and friends on Christmas Eve, and the Queens was perfect. Lovely food, great service and a nice Christmassy atmosphere. We both had the veggie lasagne...

Was going to eat but ( although January) a lack of atmosphere. No- not because of the amount of people but the lighting is just so stark/bright . No ambience, & not cosy and welcoming at all . Cant fault the decor but please Queens...

Stayed at the Queens just before Christmas had a lovely time. All the staff friendly couldn't do enough for you although we stayed in a small double the room was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast set you up for the day and the meals at night very good. This is the third time we have stayed can't fault it. A big thankyou to all the staff

Hotel is in the centre of city st lves. Walking distance to train station, bus stop and beautiful beaches and other sceneries. Cuisine and breakfast in their restaurant bar is yummy. Front desk the young guy Sebbie and the lady are very kind and friendly.

Stayed for 2 nights in a comfy room, though a bit noisey as faced onto the street, however the staff were lovely and the full english breakfast was very tasty. Would stay again but maybe book a room at the back of the hotel. Great base though as right in the middle of everything you might want to see or visit.
