Called in today for a quick bite to eat. We come most weeks and are never disappointed. The food always arrives super quickly and it is always tasty and fresh. I love the small wraps they are good value and delicious. Thanks to all the staff, they do an excellent job.

Very large pub. Quite a few steps down as you arrive. Wheelchair accessable by a lift to get you to ground level. Bar is at the left as you enter. Staff friendly and polite. Usual tap beers and a few real ales available. Descently decorated. Beer was good. Toilets on the ground floor level which is unusual for Wetherspoons. Enjoyed my visit.

Very good pub to go to for a meal. And a very good atmosphere in the the evening 👍🏻

For Wetherspoons, this is better than average. Food always decent, drinks good! Probably will need a facelift and new carpet in next few years.

Great food, looks like a lovely place, however not a massive fan of getting offered drugs whilst taking a leek, especially when it’s the staff

I've given 3stars because wetherspoons could do with an update,the place is looking alittle tired, the food is ok, nothing to rave about, maybe they could update the menu as well, but if your hank marvin, starving and you're not to fussy what you eat then this is for you..

Loved the atmosphere created by all the old movies. A multi-level pub. But lifts to all levels we really enjoyed sitting in the large beer garden with our drink. Will pay a visit next time we are in Gloucester

Pub was a former cinema the far end was glass making the room very light inside definitely one on the better buildings

One of my favorite wetherspoons around. The service is no different than any other spoons (with natural delays in busy periods), and the food is just as fine as in other locations. What makes it stand out though is the massive panorama of a city up above the tables, which I've not seen anywhere else.

Always good cask beer, 4 stars because of the run down ambience and (usually) slow service.

A very busy Wetherspoons. One big critism, the tables and doors felt very sticky, which several people also noted.

Food ok, fast service. Toilets are horrendously disgusting. Both ladies and men. Revisited again 24/07 exactly the same. Shameful.

Food was over cooked Rice and Nan hard. Disappointing one sprig of coriander on the Katzu curry.

A large, ground floor venue, with a below-ground section, where most of the pub is situated. Lots of comfortable seating. Nice outdoor sitting/smoking area out the back. Sometimes the bar staff and/or clientele make for an atmosphere not suited to a lone traveller, although the door staff are usually very efficient, polite and respectful.Perhaps better to visit at less busy times.

Nice place to have a bite and the pint of beer is cheap as well which is a bonus.

Love these converted theatre Wetherspoons! The Regal is beautiful inside and out. Food was amazing and consistent, App service was a little slow as it was extremely busy, but the staff did an incredible job. Bar service was very quick. Staff were delightful, helpful and understanding. Atmosphere was insane due to the England match being played, even staff were having a good time which is nice to see.

Very cool i like the old movie props and the full english brekfast and just to think people were watching a movie there so long a go would defenetly recomend and ive been going there since i was 4 so going there inst like a new place

Only had tea on this visit due arriving by car 🚗 Great value.

Good pub with variety of food and food music. Love the place. It's highly recommended if you love to spend time alone, with friends or family.

Good spoons for Friday nights food is good for what you pay

People love it in here. Spacious, cheap drink and for those that like Wetherspoons, this is a winner.

We came for a drink after work, we brought our small dog with us and told by the manager no dogs allowed on the premises even on the seating outside the from, which is on the footpath not under cover and not bothering anyone, poor poor attitude

Standard Wetherspoons meal, lovely pub, friendly staff and good value for money, what more could you want. Excellent pub would strongly recommend you give it a try.

Average Wheterspoon, nice terrace. VERY ANNOYING and IRRITATING bip-sound (nearly constant).

Has become a regular spot for me since the prices are great for most people. The service is always great and I have no complaints about the food and the speed in which you are served. Great atmosphere and then music from 9pm is always a great addition to the weekends.

Hubby and I had their traditional breakfast for £4.99 each together with unlimited coffee at an additional £1.56 each...brekkie was hot and good and we love the fact you get 2 packs of anchor butter for the toast (and it's soft and spreads!!) Yep we did have a refill on our coffee and could have spent more time in their garden, in the sun, drinking more but shopping called. It's our go to place for a reasonably priced breakfast

I've eaten many meals in the Curry club but here compared to others, the Curry was a bit underwhelming. The Naan was nearly warmed and the poppadoms tough.

As a weatherspoon pub the difference is in the service -and the staff were generally friendly, in the quality of the food cooked and presented - the wraps were well prepared, and the building-this one is an ex cinema, and cavernous inside, but we took advantage of the outdoor seating.

I wouldn't normally trouble to review a Spoony, because everyone knows them and I'm no help one way or the other. But this is particularly charming, in a beautiful old cinema. Cask ale, as ever, excellent, and Spoony's menu on it's usual cheap, good form.

After having a very productive shopping trip, I popped into The Regal for a bite to eat and a pint before catching the bus back home. Upon arrival, the place was relatively busy and a lot of the table still had empty glasses and plates on them. Having glanced at the bar, I could only see one chap working so decided to find a table and order using the app. Fortunately I found a table that was clean so sat down and pondered what to order. However to my horror, I happed to glance on the seat next to me and there in full view was a tampon…..I soiled one at that!! Needless to say I picked my bags up and left as my appetite had vanished. I’m not blaming the staff in Spoons for this as clearly they were short staffed so there’s only so much they can do but this was not a good experience and has put me off going back anytime soon unfortunately.

It's a weatherspoons busy with a good mixture of old and young alike. Visit was a weekend evening with lots of people out, out to party

Did my best not to give a five star rating, but have to admit Wetherspoons offer great value for money food and drink in surroundings that you will like. Service is very good and I like their phone app, WiFi signal strength was okay here so no problems ordering.

Was not nice food was cold as the girl on the til did not understand English and I think was new to the job so our food went to the wrong table and no dogs allowed in so had to eat out side on a very windy day ☹️

A fun spoon with a lively dance floor. Very busy and the music is very loud. So hard to hear the people you might be with but that might be ideal for you

It is a typical Wetherspoons. Breakfast is nice and good value.

Went at 1pm on a Thursday and it was busy, despite this however drink and food ordered via the app turned up within 5 minutes. Staff were friendly even though they asked for my id multiple times (after already serving me 2 pints lol).

I come in to Gloucesteron Tuesday and come in for a breakfast and coffee on a Tuesday and been very pleased with the breakfasts and the service is very good

Good beer staff friendly , food cheap and cheerful sadly the toilets are appalling no locks on doors a lot of people who clearly have drink or drug problems. Sad to see how much Gloucester in general has gone down the pan.

Old school, big room Spoons - nice building, but a bit dark and subterranean inside as you go down some stairs into the main body of the pub. Friendly staff :-)

A nice 3-level pub, after an old cinema. the decor is not very original and needs to be repainted and painted in different colors. A bit too dark, you can't see the food. Great service, waiters!... quickly served food and a bottle of wine🤩 Unfortunately, very small portions of food... does the kitchen save??? The fish and chips we ordered were the size of an aquarium fish or sardine and a lot of frying. (the photo shows a fish with its tail cut off, nothing eaten) The kitchen needs to be improved or replaced!

Much better over last few weeks. Food hot, decent portion and cooked properly ( hasn't been for a long time) There were enough staff behind the bar and the Manager got 'stuck in' working the bar and floor efficiently.

Great place to go at weekends. Female bar manageress is a very Biased. Does not adhere to or respect the mental health act. Someone hit me on my back of my head with a pint glass a couple of years ago. I said something to her when I was thown out that I would not have said if I did not have head trauma. I went in a few months last abd said I was so sorry and embarrassed and I would not ever say something like what i did to anyone. She accepted my apology and said I could go back in last year in November. that was in 2022, bu meaning this november. Went in tonight for the first time in a very long time to see some friends and she walked past me and said in my ear "you're banned" she would not even wait for me to respond reminding her of what she said to me oh so long ago. Then the bouncers came and I was escorted out. I would like to add that the person who glassed me then rn off has a city wide ban from going in any pub in my city, let she has never banned him and he still continues to go in there to this day. She has no respect for the mental health act and is very self concerted and follows her own rules. Twisting and bemding them at her own will. She should not be working in a public environment aspecially in a managerial position. The power she feels she has over people clearly affects her ability to be a fair, understandin and cnsiderate human beings. I will be reporting her to the police for victimisation. I hope you read this you lying mean human being because if I have it my way which I'm going to do the best I can do to achieve. you will never work in a manegerial position again. You have been and contually to be mentally abusive and mean to me because I suffer from combat related post traumatic stress disorder, that is nowhere near acceptable behaviour. EVER!

As you would expect from a Weatherspoons. Guinness was good. Very busy, clean and friendly. Didn't wait long to be served. Unfortunately I missed breakfast, so cannot comment on food.

Friendly bar staff. Great value pizza and pint deal. Pizza was really good!..definitely my go-to next time I visit Gloucester.

Bog standard old Spoons pub. Same selection, slightly lower or higher prices depending on what you're used to paying as it's in Gloucester (I'm based in Cardiff and it's slightly cheaper in the Regal than the Prince of Wales). The decor is fine, it's not as tired as some other Spoons pubs but it's not as bright as some of the newer ones. Perfectly fine, you know what you get coming here.

Total mess and not enough staff ( staff on hand were busy clearing) not enough staff to deal with the mess. This was our dinner ambience for the duration of our stay for a meal (so 30 minutes or more.) I have contacted the pub over 24 hours ago and have not received any acknowledgement.

It's a very nice place, but is always busy when we happen on there. It's a nice place though. Steps down to the pub, but there is a small lift to the left if you struggle

Went for a couple of afternoon drinks and a bite to eat. My wife’s small fish and chips was a bit! Seen bigger fish fingers, mushy were crap. Usual poor Wetherspoon chips. I had sausage beans and chips, bloody awful . Sausage tasteless and greasy, beans cheap. Chips rubbish and not hot. Don’t mind paying for something half decent, but when we both left over 50% . Enough said, once again Spoons fail again.

Standard withies in old cinema. Although ok is in desperate need of a revamp and decoration. Sticky dirty carpets.mmmmmm

This Wetherspoon pub was in a previous life, a well loved cinema, and theatre, and had all of the 1960's star playing there, eg the Stones, Beatles, well you get the picture(s). Now it is a thriving, well run pub. But the cinema stle lighting is still in the past - really dark. Very good breakfast, excellent staff and the place to relax.

It's, really great for polar bears penguins and maybe people who live in the arctic unbelievable cold try to pick if you can a, warmer place which by now people know so it's like a game of chess or wear very warm clothing.

It's a Wetherspoons. What can you say. Cheap drink and cheap food. Fast service

The service is shocking. My wife got sprayed in the eye with wine as the server poured. He laughed and walked away instead of asking if she was OK. The food came in different intervals, our friends were almost finished when we got ours. We complained, and it didn't appear to be taken seriously. Everyone seemed miserable. Food is the same price however, the food quality has dropped. We were told we could only get soft drinks with our meals, even though there is two prices, one with soft drinks and one with alcohol.

Even though I write, good reviews, about this, establishment the heating is, non existent everybody Sat with coats, hats, and scarves, a few weeks ago the heating was, bypassed obviously because, of the problem and it was lovely but unfortunneatly now it is freezing cold and not at all welcoming

Burgers and chips ordered by 4 of us. Shocked at how small burgers were for price, Also chip were barely warm.

Always great selection of food but not the best quality. This Christmas special pizza was unreal though.
