7.99 each for breakfast paid extra for toast, I have given 4 stars as the beans were not hot enough, you get 6 mushrooms which were small and shrivelled. 3 breakfasts added extras were 3 toast, 2 eggs and a sausage on others plates non refill tea, latte and coke £40! Other hungry horse establishments food is far better The girl who served us with red hair is wasted there, her customer service is outstanding. The food was average but me and the group I was with have very dodgy bellies since coming here today at lunchtime. Abit let down :(

I’ve been coming to Royal Oak for many years now and at times it’s been less than good! Come to meet friends for dinner and it was amazing! The food was hot and cooked very well, the staff were lovely and we waited a more than reasonable amount of time for our food. Will definitely be back! 🌟

Had a fantastic experience whilst out for a small family dinner. Was greeted and served by Kim who was bubbly and friendly throughout and made it seem like no requests were too much as my children changed their minds and wanted straws. Despite the venue being busy we didn't appear to wait too long for our food to arrive and they ensured the childrens food was brought out before the adults food. All meals were good quality and very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this place for service, food and value for money

Chewy gristly steaks, burger and kids meal were apparently good. Candymania sundae didn't live up to the advertised

Very short staffed, took over an hour for the food to be served even though most of it had obviously been on a hot plate for over half an hour meaning the food was cold and dry. The ‘sizzler’ dishes weren’t sizzling! The staff were doing their best but the management need an urgent review of how they run this pub. I won’t be going back anytime soon, compared to other Hungry Horse pubs the food was like from a different menu. Just been back 7 months later and what a change! Quick service, food hot and tested nice. Will give this 4 stars now and go back to have other menu options and consider giving 5 stars.

Came in and was served by Trinity and Cameron. I felt that being a wheelchair user I am always in the way and a burden but they made me feel that nothing was too much trouble! Visited here with family last week. Booking process was easy, ordering straightforward and friendly service. Wide variety on the menu, reasonably priced and was shocked at the size of the portions, so feel excellent value for money. Will definitely consider visiting again to try some other options on the menu!

What lovely staff they have here, all very attentive and food was exquisite. Offered colouring to our children which was a lovely little touch. Desserts were also lovely. Will be returning soon Thankyou for the experience guys :) all smashing it

Popped in for a bite to eat at lunchtime midweek. Unfortunately no Real Ales on. Food was reasonably priced and plentiful. Staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly.

Good ol' fashioned local. Value for money. Good staff, shame about a few ignorant patrons- family pub, but less so when sports are screened- kids need ear muffs :)

Went for an evening meal. As it was Thursday we opted for the free starter deal. Due to a mess up on the till we got the wrong meal (the same item appears twice on the menu in 2 different categories). We paid with vouchers, which means that we only pay for drinks. During the meal it became clear that the wrong menu item had been selected at the till. This meant that we had been overcharged. We were offered a " free" pudding to take away, which we accepted. The place was unlike others in the chain. It was more like a social club than a pub.

Warm welcome and good hospitality throughout our visit. We popped in for food and drinks and were warmly greeted by Kim and Trinity who were attentive and helpful throughout our visit. We were also impressed by the service that we received from Lau during our visit too.

Lau has been very helpful and accomodating to us. Came in for an after work drink and he found us a table and has been a great host all night.

First time I’ve been in the “Oak” for a while and chose what I thought would be a quiet Wednesday. Place was packed and we were lucky to get a table. No real wait on food out and really good. Staff very friendly. The one young waiting staff girl (short, black hair, may have had a foreign accent) who was working really hard all shift even tempted us to have some desserts. Great stuff. Massively better than a lot of chain pubs I’ve visited. Will be back in the future!

Food was ok, didn't have any sauce for halloumi sticks. Staff were more interested in watching the races and seem to pay more attention to the regulars, wouldn't go there again

Excellent value for money. Food is good value & served hot. Would have given 5 stars, however, having had this 'sharing' dish on other occasions this time we only had one scampi & one prawn whereas have had more in the past. Consequently not enough seafood for 2 people. Still good value though.

Table booked for Sunday 1pm Booked for a family lunch. I wasn’t expecting much as been told it wasn’t a particularly “smart” place. I had Tesco vouchers that needed using up and this was the nearest. Firstly, Booking system all good and reminders sent. I needed to adjust booking and that was all done too. Communication great. Additional person added and table was all ready when we arrived. Secondly, first impressions - Decor was modern and fresh. Atmosphere ok, the football was on big screen but didn’t hinder meal. Six adult meals ordered at a total of £61. Thought this was great value. Drinks also well Priced - G&T about £3! Food arrived really quickly after ordering - and good amount of food. Steaks cooked well, although one ordered for rare was a bit over cooked for my son, but he ate it all anyway! Staff checked if we had everything we needed and checked that food was ok. All of us too full for dessert! Particular mention to the steak and ruddles pie , it looked good and was enjoyed by recipient. In all I was pleasantly surprised by The Royal Oak. Friendly staff, quick service, nice decor. Well priced meals and drinks and apparently some some parts are dog friendly - so will definitely return on a dog walk next time! A nice little pub!

Parents allowed their children to run around the bar playing hide and seek, and to play on the floor and getting in the way of other customers.

From our last experience here it has much improved since new management has taken over. As being a wheelchair user the staff and management could be more helpful in making sure I was seated safely and in a easy accessible area. Food was good and over all feel was warm and freindly

Ate there Monday 26th Feb, very disappointed, food was cold, my steak was cremated, peas were definitely old and dry, the heating wasn't on it was freezing and the ladies toilets were dirty and no toilet paper in any of them...we often eat or drink here and have never had any complaints before......shame

Come here often for meals with family, food is always great love the full Monty mixed grills and they always get the steak how I like it. Served by trinity a few times and she’s always very smiley and always attentive, and interacts well with my children bringing colouring over and balloons. Highly recommend this pub for great atmosphere and great food

The oak is a community public house and resturant. Since Adam arrived increased footfall Mixed ages of customers get on well. Staff always have customers at the forefront. Great value, great sport coverage for all. Keep up good work Adam and staff. Enjoy the oak.

We enjoyed our visit to the Royal Oak. The drinks are reasonably priced and plenty of selection. We had a shared starter for food, which was very nice. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Will be visiting more often.

It has been a shame to see lots of the familiar faces behind the bar move on for various reasons but the new staff do not disappoint. Great, friendly service always and a perfect pint of Guinness served with banter from Ben this evening!

The pub is so unapologetically what it is, it's not fancy but the food was served very quickly and was piping hot, the staff were so friendly, the toilets could do with a lick of paint but very clean. Menu catered to vegans well too. For the price and great service I certainly couldn't complain and we will be back

Just been out for Sunday lunch with the family. Booked a table online it was ready when we walked in. Staff were happy, smiling and very friendly. Food was quick, lovely presentation, hot and tasty. Special thanks to Lau who goes the extra mile for customer service. He is very attentive, friendly and made sure our visit was a pleasurable experience. Highly recommend and we will return again in the near future.

One thing you cannot fault is the staff; Lau in particular was THE nicest man I have ever met. He went out of his way for us and was so kind. The food wasn't the greatest but for a BOGOFF on burgers, what can you expect?

Just visited for the first time, called in on the off chance. Very impressed, lovely friendly staff, food served quickly and piping hot , and made to feel very welcome. Also it was nice to have clean tables. will definitely be visiting again.
