Kingsholme Inn in Gloucester

A good old get together with pals and use of the skittles Alley. The buffet was truly impressive whilst unfortunately almost every beer I tried tasted not so fresh. Staff were polite but they knew the pipes weren’t great. It was awkward. Nice people, nice food beer not so great. Convenient for the Rugby of course.

Always a pleasure before the Army game

The Kingsholm Inn (the Jockey) is a great traditional pub that's been updated to a good standard and has managed to retain the good atmosphere and decent beers at a sensible price which it's always been renowned for. The 2 ladies who run this establishment do so with a great passion and even at its busiest you still don't have to wait too long so I would say match day or any other day give this pub a try and you won't be disappointed .

Last weekend, my friends and I had a fantastic time at the Kingsholm Inn Pub. It's the perfect spot for rugby fans, with multiple TVs showing the game (with sound on) and friendly staff. We visited both before and after the Gloucester rugby game. The choice of drinks were excellent, and prices are reasonable. The new management, Jade and Julie, have really transformed this place into a fun and welcoming pub. We felt right at home and can't wait to go back. Highly recommended!

The mess the unessasary noise and worst thing As local living in area our broad band signal goes from miniute stadium lights go on till go out ! Your selfish beyonned all believe pay to put system update so locals don't always feel the Victims .

Visited after the game Friday. Great service and friendly staff, plenty of character. Worth a visit for a pre or post match tipple.

Used before Gloucester ladies game against Harlequins asked if Granddaughter could go inside and was made really welcomed by the staff good drink selection will be using again great atmosphere

Emma, the landlady, was extremely welcoming on a quiet Friday afternoon. She chatted to us about the rugby, recommended a local Indian restaurant (which was fab) and was all round lovely. The pub itself looks bright and well maintained. I can imagine it's packed on match days. We will definitely be going in prior to the game.

I absolutely love this place. It's become somewhere I look forward to coming to at the end of a long week. A large selection of beer, always served an excellent pint. The landlady Emna is always cheerful and really welcoming. Really can't recommend this pub enough

Really good. Had a makeover since I was last in and it's very nice now. Good range of beers too!

Pub has been modernised and brightened. Probably not welcomed by all of us who have drunk here for decades before and after the rugby. Still a great pub to drink in with fans from home and visiting fans, but doesn't feel like "The Jockey" any more. The Guinness is good, and reliable.

Always a great pub with very efficient and pleasant bar staff and a warm welcome.

Nice friendly pub on the edge of Gloucester. Under new management and NOT a dedicated rugby or football venue although TVs with sport on but not the usual rifraf. Nice welcoming friendly staff. Dog and child friendly. Would recommend to all. Enjoy.

Great local. Shame the infrastructure needs so much work. We tried to buy it but stupid price and then you have the 300k to make good. Real shame. Maybe GRC should buy it?

Lovely proper pub by Gloucester Rigby ground. Staff and locals were friendly as. And bonus the pints were cheap. 4 pint were around £13. Bargain! Brilliant looking pub too with loads rugby memrobillia.

Pub is a little outdated, but still quite nice.

We've not been in since the new owners took it over, pleased to say the toilets have the heating on now and have been repainted, great service, much busier than it used to be.

Lovely cold pint very friendly staff very handy for the rugby ground . Although I didn’t try their Thursday steak and chips looked and smelled beautiful. Will definitely return if here again.

Well kept pint of Doombar at a fair price although the service was a bit slow on the day we were there. Very handy for a pint after the game!

Under new ownership and starting to see improvement, friendly staff beer prices have been lowered and this is getting the punters in, steak night on a Thursday good food.

Great pub to visit before a match at Glos rugby stadium (Kingsholm). Good range of beers, fast service, very reasonable prices - they do not bump up the prices for a big game. Only tried the rolls, which were fine, so can't comment on the general quality of the food. Love the atmosphere, never any hint of trouble - maybe because it's a rugby pub? My review is based on it being a pub, not a restaurant.

An excellent place to place a pint of real ale prior to going to Gloucester Rugby match at Kingsholm Stadium. This pub is opposite the ground. Much better beer and choice than in the ground itself. This a pub which sells only sandwiches.

Came to watch England - SA game - Saturday 12th Nov 15 - 19 rugby players -- Arrived 1pm for a 230pm kick off - I expect we would have spent £35 a head - spend nothing as closed - RIP

Made the mistake of going here before a rugby match. Pub was very busy, so had to wait a while to get a drink. I was not eat here. which was good as nowhere to sit. I now know how a sardine feels in its tin. will visit again but not during rugby season when Gloucester playing at home.

Came in this establishment after watching the Gloucester v Bath match. Which Bath won, then blatantly being ignored for wearing Bath shirts and giving Gloucester fans priority. Rugby is a friendly atmosphere so why treat us like the opposite sport. Other than that the Doombar was brilliant

I have been here for Sunday roast on many occasions. The food, which is always home made, is freshly cooked on the premises. The roast meats are always tender and cooked to perfection, plenty of fresh veg and delicious gravy. They also do a variety of lovely puddings, and all this at such a modest price! Do try it, if it's well cooked, good value food you are after you won't be disappointed.

Been using this pub for many years. Busy on match days since it's just across the road from Gloucester Rugby Club. Good atmosphere when visiting supporters come to town.

Great people to chat to, great atmosphere, good range of drinks, love the rugby memorabilia, ideal pub to visit before or after a Gloucester rugby match!
