Great food just watch your bills been overcharged the last two times we have been there thus time it was by almost £8.00 rectified by manager but happens too often

This is an amazing pub. The interior lived up to its name with its high ceilings and spacious feel. I could imagine owls roosting in the rafters. While the staff were friendly and the food tasty there was one thing I was disappointed about and that is that the pub did not offer a discount to Blue Light card holders. There is a good quality car park that is shared with the adjacent shops and so there is plenty of free parking available.

Excellent value food and drinks, we didn’t wait too long for food even though the pub was busy. Service was absolutely lovely, all the staff were friendly and helpful and clearly work very hard.

From on line booking, ordering, and eating was perfection. The menu selection is vast, the quality of food is great, and provides suberb value for money. The staff are a real asset to the company.

We have ordered dessert spoons cake and it was absolutely disgusting with rock hard base coffee was made from sachet again awful don't recommended any dessert or coffee also unhappy upset staff 😔

After another brilliant evening at the pub with family I wanted to take the time to leave a review. The barn owl is our favourite pub in the area! Always a good atmosphere, good food and really lovely staff who really go out of their way to help. Great place to bring the dog too!

Great local atmosphere,service was quick and food was perfect

The staff were very helpful and lovely. The man sorting out our food was so helpful, there was a couple of issues with the food being cold ( chips) and very dry (turkey) the tv was turned up very loud around 5:15 ish and ruined the evening as we couldn’t hear people talking on our table so we left.

Well laid out pub with kids reading area as well. Food did take 40 mins on a peak Sunday. Once arrived some of it was cooler than it should have been, but edible. Friendly staff

Lovely setting but can’t comment on the food because every time we’ve showed up at 1oclock on a Sunday they’ve run out of roast dinner. This has happened on 3 separate occasions now, with a booking every time.

T The best steak meal we've both had .everything on the plate was cooked to perfection. And even the pepper sause.cant wait to go back..The staff was also.great.the waitrace came and asked if every thing was OK.. nothing was to much trouble for the team..

Called in for lunch, really nice setting, quiet when we were there, lovely greeting from the team , gave us a nice table by the fire. It was warm and cosy, no tv screen, large dining room with plenty of places for a little privacy. Lunch cooked fresh, I had brisket sandwich & fries, my wife had salt & pepper calamari. Drinks came promptly, I had coffee ( rich & delicious ) my wife had a fruit soda she enjoyed. Food arrived in about 20 minutes and was good. The staff provided an excellent service for the entirety of our visit.

We go to The Barn Owl fairly frequently, for Sunday lunches, family get togethers and the occasional evening meal. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, the restaurant always spotless, the waiting staff are really happy, attentive, and nothing too much trouble for them. Today we went for Sunday lunch, and as always welcomed with a smile, and a hello. The roast beef I had was not just tender and tasty, but there was plenty of it, the same can be said for the Turkey my partner had. The roast potatoes were great, and the vegetables were cooked brilliantly. Oh, and the Yorkshire pudding was epic! I might not cook Sunday lunch next week! A really lovely treat out!

Staffs nice and social big open clean pub food is cooked to perfection with fluffy yet crispy fries, juicy chicken and fresh veg better than all the other pubs in the area will be coming and eating here more often. 😁

Food not worth the money or wait ! over 50 minute wait for basic food when the place was not even busy , crap service had to go up to the bar to order aswell overall i would avoid even ran out of roasts by half 1 on a sunday

Average pub in need of refreshing, selling average pub grub. Good choice of low/non alcoholic drinks. Wouldn't return.

The bartenders were amazing, kind and such a pleasure. This was our first visit to Barn Owl and we will definitely be back. As visitors, we were exploring for places to go when we visit our son who lives in Gloucester and they made us feel like we were part of the family. The food and service was wonderful and our pints were served cold and with warm smiles. Excellent place and even better people! Highly recommend!

Always good service and friendly staff - only ever had one mishap and it was resolved along with complimentary puds! *Adding to this three years later, we had a disappointing date night at another local venue, came to the trusty Barn Owl and Ben sorted us out a whole 56 minutes faster than the other establishment! We've been here multiple times.. we live very close, we are some what regular but wouldn't say we are "regulars". We've been at varying times of day/time of year, and we've always been looked after. We had a terrible experience at a local venue tonight, and left without having eaten. We spoke to Ben behind the bar explaining our experience, he gave us some food and dropped us a voucher for some money off our next visit. This was not his problem, but it's small acts of kindness like this that make a huge difference to my perception of an establishment. A great person, with great people skills and great service. Ben is a great person to have working in a front facing roll. The barn owl has always given us a pleasant experience and tonight was no exception. Also, a big shout out to the waitress Debbie (I hope that's spelt correctly) as she has looked after us multiple times. You will never find a happier, friendlier member of staff, anywhere. Nothing is too much trouble and she's a lovely member of the barn owl team. Thank you Ben, Debbie and anyone else we've ever dealt with here. Your service is the reason we will always come back to visit. Thankyou.

A busy local pub. It has no stand-out features but serves its purpose. It shuts at 11pm and no messing!!!

The Barn Owl is my local and I'd regularly come for a meal with my husband at weekends. When my husband passed, the Barn Owl was the obvious choice for people to come back to after the funeral. The staff organised an area for us, and had even left a card and flowers for me. They were brilliant at organising a tab for drinks and bringing out meals together for everyone who had ordered separately. And the food, as always, was excellent. Thank you.

Always a friendly atmosphere when we come here, with a great range of food and drink available

It was fairly busy the night we visited, but there was only one staff member to take orders and also serve at the bar. This meant nearly a 10 minute wait stood at the bar just to order our food. Didn’t realise until later that we could have order from our table, but I personally find this method poor, especially when in a group of people who all wish to order and pay separately. It’s much easier to open a tab and order all together. Waiting staff were good and friendly, although took a while to clear our table! A few of us had deserts and they came to the table whilst all the empty plates from the mains were still there. The food was nice! But that’s pretty much all there is to say about it. Everyone agreed it was simply alright, but nothing special. I had the surf and turf. Steak was well cooked, but a few scampi as the surf left it lacking. I had another one recently in a nearby pub which was £1 cheaper but been used kings size prawns in breadcrumbs and was just a bit more refined in general. 2 other members of the party both had the burger with pulled pork in. They said that the pulled pork didn’t really add anything to the burger and that it was more just like an additional BBQ sauce as opposed to being extra meaty. However, it hit the spot, and we had a good time, so I guess that’s the main thing. Unfortunately, due to the slightly underwhelming food for the price in comparison to other local places we have visited recently we would probably choose not to select here when deciding somewhere to eat.

We were told food wait was 45 minutes, but arrived within 15mins.

First time in the barn owl and it was a fantastic experience, the service was excellent and the food was out of this world, I will definitely be coming back, thank you all for such a good and positive evening, went back again last night and was not disappointed, up to your usual excellent service, thank you again, have been very many times now and cannot fault the service or the quality of the food, this is definitely my go to place, once again came last night with members of my exercise class, for my birthday, as usual an excellent time was had by all

They also have specialty nights with quizzes and meal deals. A great place to meet friends or go and watch your favourite team!

Tonight went out with the family, food was really good and my steak was cooked exactly the way I asked. The service at the table was second to non and Katie was always at hand if we needed anything. She also became a saviour to another customer as she found her purse and reassured the customer

Large pub which has a welcoming atmosphere for families. There is a reading corner too for children under 5. Wide choice of food choices and a gluten free menu on offer which was great for our daughter with coeliac disease. Reasonably priced and good, friendly service. Would definitely return.

Always a pleasure to visit the barn owl, the staff are absolutely amazing and there is always such a great atmosphere. Manager of bar rude they had no traditional cider just fruit when I asked she told me it was not a drinking pub I beg to differ as there were 20 sat outside drinking!! Horrible lady and atmosphere will never step foot in there again

The food and drinks were great of course but the staff are so lovely (especially Katie!) I took my dog and they made sure he had fresh water and even cooked him some sausages! We will definitely be regulars! The pub also had a big board with lots of activities like pub quiz, cocktail nights etc!

Staff went out of their way to be dog friendly. We were mainly served by Katie who was very warm & welcoming as this was out 1st visit due to moving to the area. She brought our dog water & treats & told us about menu choices for him. All staff interacted with our dog which he really enjoyed!
