We've been here multiple times.. we live very close, we are some what regular but wouldn't say we are "regulars". We've been at varying times of day/time of year, and we've always been looked after. We had a terrible experience at a local venue tonight, and left without having eaten. We spoke to Ben behind the bar explaining our experience, he gave us some food and dropped us a voucher for some money off our next visit. This was not his problem, but it's small acts of kindness like this that make a huge difference to my perception of an establishment. A great person, with great people skills and great service. Ben is a great person to have working in a front facing roll. The barn owl has always given us a pleasant experience and tonight was no exception. Also, a big shout out to the waitress Debbie (I hope that's spelt correctly) as she has looked after us multiple times. You will never find a happier, friendlier member of staff, anywhere. Nothing is too much trouble and she's a lovely member of the barn owl team. Thank you Ben, Debbie and anyone else we've ever dealt with here. Your service is the reason we will always come back to visit. Thankyou.

Always good service and friendly staff - only ever had one mishap and it was resolved along with complimentary puds! *Adding to this three years later, we had a disappointing date night at another local venue, came to the trusty Barn Owl and Ben sorted us out a whole 56 minutes faster than the other establishment! Thank you again for having the best customer service, top marks 👌🏼

A busy local pub. It has no stand-out features but serves its purpose. It shuts at 11pm and no messing!!!

The Barn Owl is my local and I'd regularly come for a meal with my husband at weekends. When my husband passed, the Barn Owl was the obvious choice for people to come back to after the funeral. The staff organised an area for us, and had even left a card and flowers for me. They were brilliant at organising a tab for drinks and bringing out meals together for everyone who had ordered separately. And the food, as always, was excellent. Thank you.

It was ok apart from kids running around with people walking around with hot food and not saying or doing anything about it

Plenty of choice on the menu. Food is always cooked well and the place is spotlessly clean and tidy. Good pub grub!

Always a friendly atmosphere when we come here, with a great range of food and drink available

It was fairly busy the night we visited, but there was only one staff member to take orders and also serve at the bar. This meant nearly a 10 minute wait stood at the bar just to order our food. Didn’t realise until later that we could have order from our table, but I personally find this method poor, especially when in a group of people who all wish to order and pay separately. It’s much easier to open a tab and order all together. Waiting staff were good and friendly, although took a while to clear our table! A few of us had deserts and they came to the table whilst all the empty plates from the mains were still there. The food was nice! But that’s pretty much all there is to say about it. Everyone agreed it was simply alright, but nothing special. I had the surf and turf. Steak was well cooked, but a few scampi as the surf left it lacking. I had another one recently in a nearby pub which was £1 cheaper but been used kings size prawns in breadcrumbs and was just a bit more refined in general. 2 other members of the party both had the burger with pulled pork in. They said that the pulled pork didn’t really add anything to the burger and that it was more just like an additional BBQ sauce as opposed to being extra meaty. However, it hit the spot, and we had a good time, so I guess that’s the main thing. Unfortunately, due to the slightly underwhelming food for the price in comparison to other local places we have visited recently we would probably choose not to select here when deciding somewhere to eat.

Standard pub grub, nothing to write home about but good for dinner when in a pinch

T The best steak meal we've both had .everything on the plate was cooked to perfection. And even the pepper sause.cant wait to go back..The staff was also.great.the waitrace came and asked if every thing was OK.. nothing was to much trouble for the team..

We were told food wait was 45 minutes, but arrived within 15mins.

With a relaxed atmosphere, the pubs hosts and staff are friendly and efficient and they are more than happy to accommodate your request for sports on the big screen. The pub is very family and dog friendly and even have treats for your furry friends on the bar. The food is above average for pub grub and the menu is varied. They also have specialty nights with quizzes and meal deals. A great place to meet friends or go and watch your favourite team!

Tonight went out with the family, food was really good and my steak was cooked exactly the way I asked. The service at the table was second to non and Katie was always at hand if we needed anything. She also became a saviour to another customer as she found her purse and reassured the customer

Large pub which has a welcoming atmosphere for families. There is a reading corner too for children under 5. Wide choice of food choices and a gluten free menu on offer which was great for our daughter with coeliac disease. Reasonably priced and good, friendly service. Would definitely return.

Always a pleasure to visit the barn owl, the staff are absolutely amazing and there is always such a great atmosphere. Katie and Benjamin was most helpful with our selection choices and offered great recommendations. Manager of bar rude they had no traditional cider just fruit when I asked she told me it was not a drinking pub I beg to differ as there were 20 sat outside drinking!! Horrible lady and atmosphere will never step foot in there again

The food and drinks were great of course but the staff are so lovely (especially Katie!) I took my dog and they made sure he had fresh water and even cooked him some sausages! We will definitely be regulars! The pub also had a big board with lots of activities like pub quiz, cocktail nights etc!

Staff went out of their way to be dog friendly. We were mainly served by Katie who was very warm & welcoming as this was out 1st visit due to moving to the area. She brought our dog water & treats & told us about menu choices for him. All staff interacted with our dog which he really enjoyed!

Lovely family pub , we go to steak night most Thursdays ( after using the tanning shop close by) Great value for money , nice food and clean tables . Defo recommend :)

I came to the barn owl and was greeted by the lovely Stacey, she’s a credit to the company, I come to the barn owl most days, it’s a fantastic place to meet up with friends.

The food was what you expect from a Marstons, well cooked and good quality. We were served by Leona who was very helpful

We were disappointed with the last restraunt (the avenue) but we're very warmly welcomed by the team at Barn owl. Building food and service was lovely. The team that served us was, Kate, Feb and lily. Plus the bar manager. Thank you very much saved our family birthday meal. We will be back.

Came here for the first time yesterday and enjoyed a relaxed and pleasant meal with very friendly staff. Pretty much standard pub grub on the menu but cooked very well. Only small observation and hopefully something the management can pick on was the stained upholstery on the dining chairs. Apart from that, would recommend thus place to anyone who fancies a decent pub meal.

Was meant to go to meet family at a different pub, my family advised me don't meet there we are going to a different place. We turned up here and was treated perfectly!!! The staff are so friendly and the food was delicious!!!! Will definitely come here again!!!

We arrived here in a group of 13+ after a really disappointing visit to another Marston's down the road. This place couldn't have been more different! The staff were all super accommodating, friendly and so willing to help with everything. They found us a table right away and the food was incredible!!! The building is absolutely stunning, clean, really spacious and a beautiful beer garden! We've now found a new meeting point for family meals in future and will definitely be repeat customers. It's a great place, very nice decorated, friendly service and the food was good for a reasonable price. Only to order at the table you had to register for wifi and I don't want that.

Lovely meeting place to see a friend who had travelled up for a visit. The kids enjoyed their meals and playing in the childrens area and the adults enjoyed their time together in the well spaced out seating areas.

I came into this restaurant for a drink today and I was immediately greeted and given a warm welcome at the bar. I ordered promptly and the price for a drink was very reasonable, the staff were also very talkative, it was nice talking to Avril and Leona and felt as if it was a place where I could relax and meet new people, Leona who was working was happy to give me drink recommendations based on what drinks I like. Excellent service! Will return 100%!!!!

It was very good and I had the cheeseburger and it was the best burger I've ever had and they got everything correct. The chips were great and the mayo was good. Great service and drinks. Great menu. Defently coming again.

Another great quiz evening at The Barn Owl. Not because we won unless you call last but one winning ! The food was great, the bar staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun even in the most competitive moments !! Even if you don't like quizzing the food is well worth a visit.

We went on a very busy Friday night and the staff were incredibly stretched, but, our server Debbie was so friendly, efficient and attentive and she explained that there would be a wait for our food. She kept checking on us in the meantime. When it arrived, it was piping hot and nicely presented. The steak was absolutely excellent and our whole experience was really good.

Really great burgers, Katie was lovely as always. We had a voucher so great value - was told tonight the are also now doing meerkat meals :)

Wow what an amazing evening we had tonight. All the staff were there to brighten up our evening with glowing smiling faces and the warmest welcome we have ever received. The staff went above and beyond their duties with the most thought full surprise of flowers, a card and a certificate to help celebrate our 20th anniversary.
