Dave is a brilliant landlord. He’s so friendly and accommodating. All the bar staff are smiley and friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

Came in for a few drinks. Food is 10/10. Staff and owner are so lovely and welcoming. Sunday carvery is always amazing. The occasional music nights are so much fun and even the staff and owner sing and dance along to the music ! amazing pub !

Came in for a pint and some food, lovely staff, very polite and welcoming. Romilly and Amber couldn’t do enough for us! Props to the chef the food was spectacular especially the vegetable chilli!! Will be back soon

Great location for Gloucester football club. Friendly staff and service in a quiet pub at the time was good. Food bland but decent enough price.

Pretty much everything was quite good, but the food was brought to the table in drawn-out drips and drabs, so not everyone could eat at the same time, which was a shame, and the frozen desserts were defrosted as they were being served so they still had some ice in them. But on the other hand the waitresses were very polite and friendly. We just chalked it down to the kitchen having one of those days.

We visited here after seeing reviews on the' Search for sites ' app. We parked up our campervan and talked to a lovely lady in the pub . Spent the day looking around Colchester, then came back and had a lovely meal in the pub . Great food and lovely Staff 😍...... would recommend this friendly Pub 👌

Great atmosphere great food really nice staff. Apple crumble needs to be crunchy on top, the apples still had some of the core left on and needs to be served with double the amount of custard, a thimble full doesn't cut it, apart from that excellent.

Lack of staff, so slow service. Food was very poor, typical chain pub food. Burger was very dry.

We stopped for a free overnight stay in our campervan. Good food at reasonable prices & friendly polite staff. The Gloucester Quays outlet shopping centre is a 5 minute walk. Well recommended, will visit again.

Had a really delicious meal out this evening with the family. Food was great, arriving quickly and all hot. Fairly quiet for a Sunday night.

The food was lovely, from the carvery to off menu, generous portion sizes, nice and hot and very fresh. The staff were amazing, it was very busy but they were polite and helpful, you never felt rushed and they were more than happy to go out of their way to help with the extras. We had a very large table and they were just perfect, can’t thank them enough for making this a happy and wonderful event for us.

Food very nice and staff very welcome

Very welcoming, the staff are so friendly & helpful. Food was excellent. Been here a couple of times with my friend who lives in Gloucester and he visits fairly regularly and is always happy with the food & service etc.

Sunday carvery was good, beef and gammon really good. Yorkshire puddings need a bit of work though, had taller pancakes!

What s fab Sunday Lunch and dessert we've just enjoyed. Our waiter Henry was so friendly and accomodating to all of us. He is an asset to this establishment.

Came in with my mum Family run business Spoke with the manager Dave & his daughter Michelle. Welcoming & attentive staff. Go out of their way. Went for steak but was a hard decision as the roast cavers looked amazing will be trying that next time

We went out for lunch yesterday, Christmas day. It was all very lovely from start to finish. But when we first arrived I thought I'd be different as it was Christmas, and asked the young lady server (don't think we can say waitress any more) for a small sweet sherry. She looked at me and smiled a very nice but confused smile, and said 'I don't know what that is but I can ask if we have it'. Off she went, and returned to tell me they hadn't got any. Ok, chardonnay it was then. I know you can still buy sherry in a supermarket but I was very surprised by this. We had a lovely lunch though, good food, good service, all excellent. We would definititely do it again next Christmas.

Delicious Christmas meal, I had the Lamb Shank, meat just melted off the bone, lovely roasties, lots of different vegetables available too. Staff were lovely and friendly, atmosphere was fab too, just enough people there that it wasn't too packed. Tables cleared straight away and cleaned plus there were tables free for us to sit at and have another drink if we wanted but we weren't encouraged to leave the meal table. Really great place, would definitely go again.

Food a bit on the pricey side for what you get, in my opinion. I ate here on three consecutive evenings, choosing a different dish each day and nothing was above passable. Pleasant place though.

I can't fault the bar staff here, they were wonderful. However, we were told to expect a 30 minute wait for food, and got served after 1 hour and 15 minutes. We had to go back to the bar to ask about our food. We ordered a burger, a curry, and a kids pasta meal. The food quality when we eventually got it was great, but that long of a wait when the pub wasn't too busy on our arrival isn't good enough. As we had waited so long with a young child, he was then in no mood to eat the food which was then a waste of money for us. Had we known we'd be waiting so long, we would have gone elsewhere.

Brilliant staff and food! All in high spirits and looked like they enjoyed working together too! Mackenzie especially was very enthusiastic, in high spirits and just a pleasure to be served by!

Mackenzie was fantastic dealing with our work Christmas meal and her bright and bubbly attitude is a credit to her team.

18 of us went for a works meal to the High Orchard for a third year running and can safely say that it was our best year yet. A huge congratulations to our hostesses McKenzie who constantly kept us informed as to what was happening and in general amazing at uplifting the atmosphere. She could not do enough for us.

This is a long one....... So it's that time of year again! you know, the time when your forced to spend time with people you wouldn't normally (unless your being paid). Yes, work christmas party season! I rocked up to the high orchard pub, with that nagging feeling of dread and "why did I agree to come" walked in and was immediately hit smack in the face with a warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere. It put me at ease as I trudged over to my table and took a seat along with 16 others, and was struck by how much effort the staff had gone through to dress the table, floral centre piece, christmas crackers, and a generous and useful number of napkins per person. So off to a good start I would say. Drink orders were taken and then it began, 3 courses of great quality and very generous food, the pub had our names ensured everyone had the right orders, then as we all stared at our food eagerly waiting to tuck in, more dishes came out. Extra roasties, veg and most importantly enough gravey to fill an Olympic sized pool. I was in my happy place! Dinner and chat progressed and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Then came the part of the night everyone who has ever worked in hospitality dreads, SPLITTING THE BILL! I don't know how they did it (probably some form of wizardry) but everyone paid for what they had with little fuss, zero confusion and with the ease of a gloucester seagull stealing your lunch. Thank you High orchard for a great evening! Most importantly a massive shout out to our hostess for the evening Makenzie (apologies if I spelt it wrong) this wonderful person deserves to be made a saint or at the least, employee of the decade! never in all my years of attending dining establishments has someone made me feel more welcome and left me with such a positive experience! There warm smile, friendly and positive attitude were a god send! Thank you very much

The staff were friendly and helpful. I really appreciate all they did considering our party was rather large and my family can be a bit much. The food was all very nice and the atmosphere was lovely too.

This is a great place to stay overnight in a motorhome, close to the centre of the city. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food is typical pub grub that is reasonably priced. Wednesday is quiz night and turned out to be great entertainment. Our waitress automatically applied any discounts to the bill which was a welcome bonus. We would definitely recommend High Orchard.

Great friendly service from initial phone call to being served with food and drink. Food was very enjoyable, at a reasonable price.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful, we made a last minute booking for 20 people and they were more than happy to help, fair play to them getting all that food out in one go. Highly recommended

came on sunday with my mum, never been for a sunday carvery here before so thought we would give it a try, perfect amazing food nice carvery deck and selection, very friendly staff the owner is really lovely alwyas see him when we come in, the staff that work there are really lovely. food was amazing really generous with meat, we went for large portions and added on pigs and blankets. next time hoping to see lamb on the deck!!

Good food at a reasonable price with brilliant company

I held a 60th birthday party and had a buffett. The food and staff was outstanding and could do enough for us. I took decorations which they put up for me. We had music and our own section of the restaurant. I would 100 % recommend.

Great pub twice gone amazing food and service

We were seated at a small table in the window that had no lighting and made it almost impossible to read the menu. We had to move the table out into the light just to see. The table was sticky and dirty. The QR ordering code was difficult for both iPhone and android to read. We ordered separately but at the same time but the meals came out about 15 mins apart. The food was expensive (eg almost £12 for macaroni cheese and garlic bread), disappointingly there were few vegetarian options but the food was ok. Average at best. No cutlery, napkins or condiments were offered or provided and we had to go and ask for them. When I went to buy a drink at the bar I discovered that people were ordering food at the bar rather than using the QR code but that wasn’t made clear and to polish it all off the patronising really young member of staff spoke to me like a child when I was paying for my drink with my apple wallet. Blatant ageism!!!!! We will not be back!!!

By far the best pub I’ve been to in YEARS! Katie, Michelle and Dave were a dream team tonight and I can’t thank them enough for their gracious service and warm welcoming! Will 100% be back!

Tables sticky asked to be cleaned but still sticky got a share starter five pieces of wings that was it for £9.50 Hell waste of money , kebab chicken Three pieces of chicken, very poor chips and tiny bit of salad never go there again

Good scran would recommend very friendly staff - great car park and lovely scenery right by the water too ! Wow what more could I ask for !

Just dropped in for a few pints didn't stay long we found it one of the dearest for pints in the area.

As always, the food was good, and the children's menu was well tested 😆
