High Orchard in Gloucester

First time visit to this location,will be going back somtime soon.

Excellent restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is lovely

Food was lovely, we all had a carvery and it was amazing; all the sides were delicious. The atmosphere was great, and the servers were really friendly and helpful. One of my guests had an allergen and they were amazing at looking after her.

We go to the high orchard every single Sunday for a roast. Great service! Brilliant value for money. Couldn't recommend more!!

So took myself and a friend and young child for a Sunday carvery at 5 pm 10 days ago roughly , anyway after enough fiddling about at the bar went to get food , no beef , no gammon , all the veg was cold , burnt my hand though on the serving spoon , potatoes were cold and disgusting , gravy pot like a hand grenade exposed , all il say is they will take the pie and eat it , customer service is zero and food disturbance never go again

We went for a meal at tea time and enjoyed it, very nice meal, cooked just right, inside was nice and clean, tidy, and good decor. Will be back soon. Been back many times and always perfect.

Lady behind the bar was really lovely to talk to. She took all our orders with a smile even though we were a pain. Drinks were served quickly and the food arrived in good time and was tasty.

food and service was good we will not go back as we have had a £100 fine for parking in the pub car park for 35 minutes

The food was nice but the beer is a bit pricey.

We both had a burger and were very pleased how good they were. The beer was spot on and the staff, as always lovely, friendly and helpful.

Popped here for a meal in the evening as had a voucher. This was the 2nd time visiting here, but unfortunately this time my meal wasn't very good. The rump steak was very fatty and gristle, most went home for the dog.

Come in for a nice family meal and was served by Lacie and rhi who were both so lovely, friendly and full of smiles. Food come out wrong but they were quick to correct it. Definitely recommend.

The staff are really helpful and kind, they were very sweet when i ordered my food. The atmosphere is a happy, fun-filled environment. The food is lovely and cooked just right. Thank you to the staff of this pub, I will be coming again soon.

The food was brought out one by one, so we had to wait for each dish to arrive. By the time the others came, the earlier ones had already gone cold. There were only four of us at the table. Personally, I didn’t enjoy the food much. The chicken was over-fried and too hard, though the BBQ ribs were okay. But overall, considering the price, it just wasn’t worth it.

Went for lunch with my son and had a fabulous time. Good food, good service, and a bonus of 30% off mains. What’s not to love. Will definitely visit again!!

Very very slow service over half an hour wait for jacket potato and a gammon steak. Table next to us been waiting an hour. Don’t bother using this pub

Absolutely awful experience! This was the message I sent the company to not even get a reply back , Hello,I did try contact the company who own this pub however I have not received an email back. me and my family came to the High orchid in Gloucester on the 30th of march for the Mother’s Day three course meal. This is the first time we have gone out together for this as my mum had been told she had a couple years left to live so we were super excited to spend this time together. However my brother paid for 5 three course meals of 21.99. starters arrived we were missing one bowl of breaded mushrooms which then my dad was asked to pay for again … even tho it had all been order and it was made out that it was our fault even tho they didn’t tap it on the machine properly. When they finally realised it was their fault the refunded back pudding .This had already ruined the mood of the family meal. We were then presented with the 5 main meals , on the menu it was mentioned we would get tender steam broccoli with the Provençal chicken ,however it was just broccoli, our chicken was also super dry , we had like barely any cheese on the meal when it was mentioned on menu it was included , the pea shoots looked dead and not nice, my mums fried egg was well overdone and she could not eat it, my mums gammon was over done / burnt and chewy so unfortunately this was an awful experience for all of us. Then they took our plates around 2.15 , so we sat there waiting for our puddings, we was sat there probably nearly an hour and no puddings had arrived , the time hit 3.15 and the same lady who gave us refunded for a pudding ,came to our table and said to us “ we do need the table for 3.30 , you can go to the bar for drinks” yet we hadn’t even been served our pudding and it was completely forgotten about . We then had to mention this. When we mentioned this she was quite rude and said “ did you order pudding “ this was said in a rude tone as if we didn’t order pudding . so we stated we literally ordered the 3 course Mother’s Day meal, and then she said “ she will get them to do that now for you” again we then felt super rushed and not very happy it had been forgotten. They then brought our puddings out but only 2 of them and by time the other three and been brought out my dad and brother had already finished there’s so we did not even get to eat together . We then only a few minutes to eat our desserts as we were told they needed the table back for 3.30 so we couldn’t even finish our pudding. We are very disappointed with this experience and we would request a full refund please ,I have attached some pictures related to these issues of the egg, the gammon, the broccoli and the table service . Look forward to hearing back from you Thank you very much So appalled that they haven’t actually tried to resolve this situation and I even attached pictures of the food . Would not recommend and I still would like a refund they said they would contact me and never did . Honestly not a happy experience

McKenzie gave us excellent service, the cocktails were unreal. Couldn’t have asked for anything more !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Visited with family for lunch and have a wonderful experience. We were served by Mckenzie who was cheerful and informative in regards to the menu. Anything we needed she was very happy to help. Even while training a new staff member she kept her cool when it slightly picked up. Big props to her. The food was delicious and would definitely return again. New family favourite!

First time for a few years and it was the best sunday dinner better than one we been to food cooked just right

Me and my friends popped in for a quick drink in the sun! Was immediately served by a lovely girl called Amber, she was very welcoming with a smile and served our drinks quickly asking all the correct appropriate questions! Made conversation while pouring our drinks! Will defo be coming again :)

Came in for a few drinks. Food is 10/10. Staff and owner are so lovely and welcoming. Sunday carvery is always amazing. The occasional music nights are so much fun and even the staff and owner sing and dance along to the music ! amazing pub !

Came in for a pint and some food, lovely staff, very polite and welcoming. Romilly and Amber couldn’t do enough for us! Props to the chef the food was spectacular especially the vegetable chilli!! Will be back soon

It was spot on. You had a new employee behind the bar who did an excellent job and the waitress staff did a splendid job too

Pretty much everything was quite good, but the food was brought to the table in drawn-out drips and drabs, so not everyone could eat at the same time, which was a shame, and the frozen desserts were defrosted as they were being served so they still had some ice in them. But on the other hand the waitresses were very polite and friendly. We just chalked it down to the kitchen having one of those days.

We visited here after seeing reviews on the' Search for sites ' app. We parked up our campervan and talked to a lovely lady in the pub . Spent the day looking around Colchester, then came back and had a lovely meal in the pub . Great food and lovely Staff 😍...... would recommend this friendly Pub 👌

Great atmosphere great food really nice staff. Apple crumble needs to be crunchy on top, the apples still had some of the core left on and needs to be served with double the amount of custard, a thimble full doesn't cut it, apart from that excellent.

Lack of staff, so slow service. Food was very poor, typical chain pub food. Burger was very dry.

We stopped for a free overnight stay in our campervan. Good food at reasonable prices & friendly polite staff. The Gloucester Quays outlet shopping centre is a 5 minute walk. Well recommended, will visit again.

Had a really delicious meal out this evening with the family. Food was great, arriving quickly and all hot. Fairly quiet for a Sunday night.

The food was lovely, from the carvery to off menu, generous portion sizes, nice and hot and very fresh. The staff were amazing, it was very busy but they were polite and helpful, you never felt rushed and they were more than happy to go out of their way to help with the extras. We had a very large table and they were just perfect, can’t thank them enough for making this a happy and wonderful event for us.

Very welcoming, the staff are so friendly & helpful. Food was excellent. Been here a couple of times with my friend who lives in Gloucester and he visits fairly regularly and is always happy with the food & service etc.

Sunday carvery was good, beef and gammon really good. Yorkshire puddings need a bit of work though, had taller pancakes!

What s fab Sunday Lunch and dessert we've just enjoyed. Our waiter Henry was so friendly and accomodating to all of us. He is an asset to this establishment.

Came in with my mum Family run business Spoke with the manager Dave & his daughter Michelle. Welcoming & attentive staff. Go out of their way. Went for steak but was a hard decision as the roast cavers looked amazing will be trying that next time

We went out for lunch yesterday, Christmas day. It was all very lovely from start to finish. But when we first arrived I thought I'd be different as it was Christmas, and asked the young lady server (don't think we can say waitress any more) for a small sweet sherry. She looked at me and smiled a very nice but confused smile, and said 'I don't know what that is but I can ask if we have it'. Off she went, and returned to tell me they hadn't got any. Ok, chardonnay it was then. I know you can still buy sherry in a supermarket but I was very surprised by this. We had a lovely lunch though, good food, good service, all excellent. We would definititely do it again next Christmas.

Delicious Christmas meal, I had the Lamb Shank, meat just melted off the bone, lovely roasties, lots of different vegetables available too. Staff were lovely and friendly, atmosphere was fab too, just enough people there that it wasn't too packed. Tables cleared straight away and cleaned plus there were tables free for us to sit at and have another drink if we wanted but we weren't encouraged to leave the meal table. Really great place, would definitely go again.

Food a bit on the pricey side for what you get, in my opinion. I ate here on three consecutive evenings, choosing a different dish each day and nothing was above passable. Pleasant place though.

I can't fault the bar staff here, they were wonderful. However, we were told to expect a 30 minute wait for food, and got served after 1 hour and 15 minutes. We had to go back to the bar to ask about our food. We ordered a burger, a curry, and a kids pasta meal. The food quality when we eventually got it was great, but that long of a wait when the pub wasn't too busy on our arrival isn't good enough. As we had waited so long with a young child, he was then in no mood to eat the food which was then a waste of money for us. Had we known we'd be waiting so long, we would have gone elsewhere.
