The best restaurants serving British food in South West

This is our stop off when we visit Cornwall, we always look forward to it .The quiche was delicious .

New spring menu. Hot day, great salad with nice wine- it doesn’t come much better. Well done guys we will see you again soon.

We had a fantastic evening at the Exmouuth Arms. We booked for a group and the pre booking was easy. Staff were attentive and meals delicious. I must add it was the best apple crumble I’ve eaten in a long time. Thank you very much.

Quick and friendly service. The upstairs dining room looked nice, we sat in a booth near the window. We had a potato and leak soup, thick fries and grilled peppered chicken. All very tasty.

Great place to visit and relax. Re 9mmend this place.

The inside of the pub is lovely and there us an outdoor area where you can smoke, although there are some steps to get to it. We had a lovely burger for lunch and good beer. We don't live locally but always go to this pub when in Taunton. Staff are friendly and helpful

Was staying here for a few days and all I can say is amazing rooms, and amazing food, so many options for the b and b breakfast not just your normal cooked or pastries and the pub is amazing friendly staff and good atmosphere, Lots of parking and good access routs to m4 and all of Swindon, 1000% recommend!

Went there a few days ago. Absolute scenes!!

Not our first visit to the Ash, it’s a good place to eat but this evening standards there fell a little. Shown to a table then nobody came to take our food order or even ask if we wanted any drinks. After we got over that little mishap we waited ages for our food the only excuse I can offer is that they were busy with food orders and quite a few people at the bar mainly because a band was due to play there later in the evening. Other than that it was a good evening so give it a go!

First and last time eating here. I had the nut roast, which was bland, but the real disappointment was the roast potatoes. So dry, hard and tasteless - are they frozen potatoes? The vegetables were nice, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The affrogato was lovely, especially with the almond biscuits crumbled into it (a clever addition). Sorry, but the potatoes were unforgivable.

Solid historic pub with lots of local beer, only misses out on the fifth star as it's a card only pub and I think that sort of thing should be discouraged..
