Cracking pub in the centre of town. We visited on a Saturday night, the football was on and as soon as that finished live music started. Lovely staff who were very welcoming and some cracking pints served up during the evening. Would highly recommend.

Been a few times for the masala wings alone, unreal! Spice bag is great too. Everything else is okay.

The best chips and peppercorn sauce ever so much so we came back everyday to get some they even gave us a portion of the sauce to take away. Can’t wait to come back again.

Best Sunday carvery in Belfast. We have our faves for Sunday lunch and are hard to please! Saw a review of the Sunday carvery at the Fountain and gave it a go. We were NOT disappointed! Fantastic. Generous, fresh and tasty. Stuffing and honey roast ham were highlights. £14.95 for an absolute feed.

Went in the week between Christmas and New Year on our trip to Belfast. The outside looks cool but that’s about it. The restaurant is upstairs and once we entered the dining room, the service staff were rude, told us to wait for a table, as we had 5, when we asked if we could order drinks while waiting, we are rudely told no, when seated it took a while to order drinks and food. General vibe was inattentive. The food selection was okay, the corn ribs were good, probably the best thing with a good flavor. We ordered the large bread starter and it had basic white slider buns on it to dip into oil and a whipped butter style sauce. When we asked what the sauce was the wait staff simply replied, “I don’t know”. The fish and chips seem to be a good size but are tasteless and either overcooked or the oil needed changing. The chicken burger was okay, but lacked any really flavor. The fact that they charge £1 to switch your potato side( fries, chunky chips, mash etc) is crazy and meant we had to get creative with who wanted what and what was their assigned side on the menu and then when the food arrived we did swaps to avoid potentially a £5 addition for no reason. When we were finished, again the servers took ages to clear the plates and for the price I was disappointed. The restrooms weren’t clean, missing soap and paper. Overall a bit disappointing as this was my pick for lunch for our trip. To note- they responded to my review. Asked me to email them, I did and then they never emailed back.

Online booking at 8.30pm. When we arrived they told us that it was possible to order only a main course and refuse the order of a starter. At the end of dinner we still had half a beer to finish and they kicked us out of the table and invited us to continue drinking downstairs. Very cold bathrooms without heating. Food and prices normal, nice environment.

It was decent. Not the worst and not the best, but not bad! Food was ok. I felt very safe and secure, no need to worry about anything. The service was good and very kind. Two kind waitresses served us and were good mannered. Worth a visit!

This is a dog friendly place. We brought our small dog here. Food is all right. Price is steep but it's the going rate in Belfast city. Charming and rustic looking place.

This place used to be lovely. Iv been going there for over 20 years but we hadn't been in a while so we thought we would call in yesterday. Food quality has dropped significantly. We won't be back. Do not order the christmas Quesadilla. We paid £10 for a wrap with cheese melted and very little salty turkey and ham. We left disappointed for the first time ever. 🙁

Long wait for our food....nothing special but expensive.

We had carvery lunch here one Sunday and it was great! Delicious and freshly cooked and good value. Service is great. A few in group had desserts too and they were also really nice.

Was here sat 30th December and dispite being very busy they were very professional and welcoming. We had a reservation for food but arrived 20 mins early and although the lovely waitress said our table wasn’t ready which was understandable. We went downstairs for a drink while we waited, 5 mins later the waitress comes down to find us to let us know our table was ready and we were welcome to come up. I never got the waitresses name but defo a lovely bunch of staff. Food was delicious.. We will return for sure 👌

Service for food without reservations bye Darren where no problem at all he was very welcoming and nothing was a problem. Witness from Australia was also lovely. Food was 10/10 stunning. We will be back.

First stop of the day on our annual Christmas shopping trip in Belfast. Stopped in the Fountain for a quick drink but noticed the festive chip on the snacks menu. Just the thing on a freezing cold day. Ended up staying for a few. Barman Joe was great craic, very friendly and a character. Brilliant service from we went in till we left. Set us up nicely for a great day in Belfast

Fantastic food and service - great upstairs with the rugby commentary, but was asked to go downstairs as they only had 3 tables occupied. Live music was great with silent rugby, given Ireland lost anyway 😆

Good cocktails here we ordered the pepper chips which was actually pepper sauce on chips they were nice just a lot of sauce and a few chips

The service at the bar and the music was great... no complaints. My partner and I had such a good time. But we got violent food poisoning from eating from the bar menu so I would recommend avoiding the food.

Had a lovely meal on Wednesday Hubby had fish and chips and the fish was huge I had the belly pork delicious and to our lovely waitress dont know her name she had long curry hair so friendly and nothing too much bother will definitely be back

Strange place - seems spacious but cramped at the same time. Eclectic crowd or old-timers and trendy - good prices and a decent outside smoking area. Orderly and handy for a quick drink

Great spot and well located with food and drinks upstairs and live music and drinks downstairs, I'll definitely be back and the staff were magic.

Really really poor food service.

I have never been so insulted in my life as I was by the bar staff in this pub I ask for a pint of blue moon which I have had before in the same place and he looked at me like something that came of his shoe his first reply was that they didn't sell it so I said then could I have a paint of a citrus IPA and he then replied with, " oh you look like you have been drinking today and I'm not serving you, I replied with, I am stone cold sober and he then said well I'm not serving you and this was embarrassing to say the last as it was Infront of other customers so I told him that I thought he was a cheeky bastard and to which he replied so are you, I realised that his problem was clearly a personal one either with how I looked or how I dressed, this happened me one other time in the same bar and I am almost sure it was the same bar man and older man with a bald head , I would be really interested to know if anyone else has had a similar experience with this place or this barman in particular

Went on wee evening friends meet up spree had some non alcoholic beverages for myself and my friends had Guinness and Rum and orders their Garlic butter chips and Spicy Korean wings was amazing overall experience and then service was so natural.

Called in for a drink on one of our walkabouts. We were enjoying a chat as it was quiet when a man and his son of about 13-14yrs old came in. A staff member stopped the father, seeming to challenge him in some way. The father and son left and returned about a minute later with a female I took to be the mother. It was obviously a foreign family on holiday. The father and son went to sit down and a staff member approached the father and told him that they had to leave as the establishment doesn't allow training bottoms. We found this quite an odd thing to do. The young lad wasn't very untidy looking and his bottoms were the cotton stretch type, not even like the bottom of a tracksuit. The family left, in shock at having been evicted. We left as soon as we finished our drink. I know that some places don't like football tops and things, but this really was a bit over the top on a weekday afternoon.

Called in without reservation and was given a table straight away. Food ordered wine ordered and all came out promptly. Lovely meal which my friend and I enjoyed thoroughly. The waitress was a lovely girl and very attentive. Will definitely be back!

A decent pub, staff are always very friendly. last time I was in various pumps were off, no Guinness, and few other draught options on a Friday afternoon. Nice little area to sit outside too and big TVs for the football.

Only been once recently expensive for what I got

Lovely carvery, fast service. You have to ask for a larger or smaller portion if you want, but portions were good anyway. Drinks etc soon make bill add up to a lot more, but set carvery price good. We went Sunday 1pm, it was only carvery menu available Sunday afternoon, which was a pity because there were some interesting items on menu, I'd like to try next time. I recommend it 🙂

We were in the Fountain yesterday afternoon. There were 3 other tables occupied. Drinks arrived promptly but we had to wait 45 minutes for the food. I complained and the waiter suggested that we should order another drink. The food was OK but hard to enjoy after such a wait and we had to rush it. There are plenty of equally good restaurants in central Belfast were the service is much better. I would give the Fountain a miss.

Recommended by one of the ticket sellers at the Belfast tour bus stop outside City Hall and we were thankful for his advice, great food choices, great friendly staff, food well cooked, nice ambience about the place, and the price's are right can highly recommend when in Belfast.

Food was incredible. Staff we're outstanding and a real credit to the place.

What I once remember as a quiet pub in the city for the daytime drinker has certainly changed. Now a trendy tourist spot in perfect city centre location. Even better it had pints of Kilkenny on tap which can be hard to find. Nice place to sit outside and watch world go by.

Absolutely fantastic, clean bar with great staff. It was a Monday afternoon when we called in. The barman was very friendly and for me this was the best pint of Guinness I had.

The service provided by Alisha made it feel like family. She welcomed our dog and made the entire family feel at home. Sweet pub at street level, with restaurant upstairs. Traditional pub fare with healthy servings of everything. Seafood chowder -small-chick full of salmon, cod, veg and potatoes. Great burger with brisket on the patty, really good goat cheese and walnut salad, all with super friendly and attentive service

we were followed by a member of staff to the end of fountain street city hall end claiming we did not pay for our drinks she soon walked back in disgrace when i produced proof of purchase never experienced anything like it in all my years of drinking in the city.

Live music volume last night was just way too loud. Can't escape it from any part of the pub. Earsplitting volume levels. When I asked if that could be toned down, customer service was severely lacking.

Food was Gorgeous! We all had 10oz ribeye steak , roasted veg , chunky chips, peppered sauce! They were all cooked to perfection! + a few drinks each Would highly recommend , and staff were lovely, very helpful,

Too expensive, low waged and unemployed can't afford a drink or food if they were to go out once a month. Rip of artists ( like alot of bars/pubs in Belfast) using CV19 shut down and other excuses to put their failure to attract customers because of their high prices.

Slightly limited menu, but we'll cooked, we'll served and all at a reasonable price.

A great plate of very nicely cooked hake. A great portion size and a good pint of Smithwicks. The staff were great craic too.

4 of us called into the Fountain Bar on Sunday after a walk round the Xmas market (which was very expensive) didn't know you had to book but luckily a table was free. There was no menu today, it was a special Xmas carvery for £13.95 absolutely worth every penny, plate was warm the turkey and ham was moist and delicious the amount of veg, roast potatoes and mash was very generous. Will definitely return in the new year couldn't fault the service either. Merry Christmas to you all at the Fountain Bar.

S'ok, very busy - hard to get service!

Splendid Christmas menu. Lots of choice for everyone and food was great quality. In the pictures are salted chilli chicken and the turkey dinner. Service was second to none. Very polite and attentive.

I really wanted to visit this famous place as I’ve heard so many good things about it and I wasn’t disappointed! I took my dad here for the first time to enjoy a pint of Guiness. We loved it so much we returned 3 times in the same day after walking around the city trying to find another place - every time we both said to go back to Fountain Lane! Unique atmosphere, legendary Guinness and exceptional service received from Connor and Jackson made Belfast experience memorable. This is place is one of a kind!

Didn't had food here, went for a private party but the place and atmosphere was good and staffs were very friendly.
