Strange place - seems spacious but cramped at the same time. Eclectic crowd or old-timers and trendy - good prices and a decent outside smoking area. Orderly and handy for a quick drink

Great spot and well located with food and drinks upstairs and live music and drinks downstairs, I'll definitely be back and the staff were magic.

Really really poor food service.

I have never been so insulted in my life as I was by the bar staff in this pub I ask for a pint of blue moon which I have had before in the same place and he looked at me like something that came of his shoe his first reply was that they didn't sell it so I said then could I have a paint of a citrus IPA and he then replied with, " oh you look like you have been drinking today and I'm not serving you, I replied with, I am stone cold sober and he then said well I'm not serving you and this was embarrassing to say the last as it was Infront of other customers so I told him that I thought he was a cheeky bastard and to which he replied so are you, I realised that his problem was clearly a personal one either with how I looked or how I dressed, this happened me one other time in the same bar and I am almost sure it was the same bar man and older man with a bald head , I would be really interested to know if anyone else has had a similar experience with this place or this barman in particular

Went on wee evening friends meet up spree had some non alcoholic beverages for myself and my friends had Guinness and Rum and orders their Garlic butter chips and Spicy Korean wings was amazing overall experience and then service was so natural.

Called in for a drink on one of our walkabouts. We were enjoying a chat as it was quiet when a man and his son of about 13-14yrs old came in. A staff member stopped the father, seeming to challenge him in some way. The father and son left and returned about a minute later with a female I took to be the mother. It was obviously a foreign family on holiday. The father and son went to sit down and a staff member approached the father and told him that they had to leave as the establishment doesn't allow training bottoms. We found this quite an odd thing to do. The young lad wasn't very untidy looking and his bottoms were the cotton stretch type, not even like the bottom of a tracksuit. The family left, in shock at having been evicted. We left as soon as we finished our drink. I know that some places don't like football tops and things, but this really was a bit over the top on a weekday afternoon.

Called in without reservation and was given a table straight away. Food ordered wine ordered and all came out promptly. Lovely meal which my friend and I enjoyed thoroughly. The waitress was a lovely girl and very attentive. Will definitely be back!

A decent pub, staff are always very friendly. last time I was in various pumps were off, no Guinness, and few other draught options on a Friday afternoon. Nice little area to sit outside too and big TVs for the football.

Only been once recently expensive for what I got

Lovely carvery, fast service. You have to ask for a larger or smaller portion if you want, but portions were good anyway. Drinks etc soon make bill add up to a lot more, but set carvery price good. We went Sunday 1pm, it was only carvery menu available Sunday afternoon, which was a pity because there were some interesting items on menu, I'd like to try next time. I recommend it 🙂

We were in the Fountain yesterday afternoon. There were 3 other tables occupied. Drinks arrived promptly but we had to wait 45 minutes for the food. I complained and the waiter suggested that we should order another drink. The food was OK but hard to enjoy after such a wait and we had to rush it. There are plenty of equally good restaurants in central Belfast were the service is much better. I would give the Fountain a miss.

Recommended by one of the ticket sellers at the Belfast tour bus stop outside City Hall and we were thankful for his advice, great food choices, great friendly staff, food well cooked, nice ambience about the place, and the price's are right can highly recommend when in Belfast.

What I once remember as a quiet pub in the city for the daytime drinker has certainly changed. Now a trendy tourist spot in perfect city centre location. Even better it had pints of Kilkenny on tap which can be hard to find. Nice place to sit outside and watch world go by.

Food was incredible. Staff we're outstanding and a real credit to the place.

Absolutely fantastic, clean bar with great staff. It was a Monday afternoon when we called in. The barman was very friendly and for me this was the best pint of Guinness I had.

Nice place to hang out. Good music selection from the staff. Live music probably only on weekends. Drinks great. We didn't eat anything.

The service provided by Alisha made it feel like family. She welcomed our dog and made the entire family feel at home. The food was equally comforting, and the dark wood and rustic features combined to make the whole experience one to remember. Thank you, Alisha, for helping to make such a happy memory.

Sweet pub at street level, with restaurant upstairs. Traditional pub fare with healthy servings of everything. Seafood chowder -small-chick full of salmon, cod, veg and potatoes. Great burger with brisket on the patty, really good goat cheese and walnut salad, all with super friendly and attentive service

second best margarita james has ever had, and that's saying something (james has had a lot of margaritas) (but he's not an alcoholic).

No food. Brought in by MC Donald and immediately thrown out. Three pubs within 20 meters. Table difficult.

we were followed by a member of staff to the end of fountain street city hall end claiming we did not pay for our drinks she soon walked back in disgrace when i produced proof of purchase never experienced anything like it in all my years of drinking in the city.

Live music volume last night was just way too loud. Can't escape it from any part of the pub. Earsplitting volume levels. When I asked if that could be toned down, customer service was severely lacking.

Food was Gorgeous! We all had 10oz ribeye steak , roasted veg , chunky chips, peppered sauce! They were all cooked to perfection! + a few drinks each Would highly recommend , and staff were lovely, very helpful,

Too expensive, low waged and unemployed can't afford a drink or food if they were to go out once a month. Rip of artists ( like alot of bars/pubs in Belfast) using CV19 shut down and other excuses to put their failure to attract customers because of their high prices.

Slightly limited menu, but we'll cooked, we'll served and all at a reasonable price.

A great plate of very nicely cooked hake. A great portion size and a good pint of Smithwicks. The staff were great craic too.

4 of us called into the Fountain Bar on Sunday after a walk round the Xmas market (which was very expensive) didn't know you had to book but luckily a table was free. There was no menu today, it was a special Xmas carvery for £13.95 absolutely worth every penny, plate was warm the turkey and ham was moist and delicious the amount of veg, roast potatoes and mash was very generous. Will definitely return in the new year couldn't fault the service either. Merry Christmas to you all at the Fountain Bar.

S'ok, very busy - hard to get service!

Splendid Christmas menu. Lots of choice for everyone and food was great quality. In the pictures are salted chilli chicken and the turkey dinner. Service was second to none. Very polite and attentive.

I really wanted to visit this famous place as I’ve heard so many good things about it and I wasn’t disappointed! I took my dad here for the first time to enjoy a pint of Guiness. We loved it so much we returned 3 times in the same day after walking around the city trying to find another place - every time we both said to go back to Fountain Lane! Unique atmosphere, legendary Guinness and exceptional service received from Connor and Jackson made Belfast experience memorable. This is place is one of a kind!

Didn't had food here, went for a private party but the place and atmosphere was good and staffs were very friendly.

We called in here yesterday Friday 17th November it was only a short visit to belfast but if we wernt going home today we would be back in this as although we did not eat here we had a few drinks and the bar staff were amazing, they knew after ordering our first drink what we were drinking and the baby guiness and rum and coke were flowing nicely. We will definitely call back in there when we come to belfast again from Wales. Thankyou guys x

If your looking for no nonsense well prepared food Fountain Lane hits the spot. I had lunch upstairs in the grill restaurant served by helpful and informative staff. I’ll return the next time in town.

Went for the Sunday Lunch; it was amazing quality and value! Think it was around £13.95 per person, and you get a choice of what meats/veggies you'd like. Very tasty and we were stuffed afterwards. Would definitely go back!

We chose an unfortunate night to dine at the Fountain Inn, but we have to say our lovely hostess handled the commotion of a noisy golfers' post-charity-tournament ruckus beautifully and skillfully moved us from pub front to dining room. We enjoyed a typical nice pub meal and actually were entertained by a not-your-typical-tourist experience.

Mi marido y yo hace poco tuvimos una comida en la fuente mientras se hospeda en un B&B cerca y quedamos muy contentos con la comida. El menú era limitado, pero que podíamos ver algo de lo que quería. Mi marido tenía el filete de cadera y dijo que era muy buena, lo que es alabanza de él, normalmente el mejor dice de una comida es que era "todo"! No había grissly malos y era cocinado cómo le gustaba. Tuve el risotto de pimiento rojo era muy sabroso, aunque era un poco seco que me gustaría y era bastante pocas pimienta roja. Mi marido no podía gestionar cualquier postre pero tuve el desastre de Eton, que era precioso y muy grande. Él tenía una cerveza que gozaba (creo que dijo que estaba Doombar).

Review title says it all but curry night on a Wednesday is a must breakfast is not for the faint hearted but on the other hand it carries you through to dinner!

The service was very good, the food was excellent and great value. The pub was built in the 1700's. Well worth a visit.

well val and ted the owners are a lovely couple. made us feel at home with the friendly banter. the food was great although last time we were here we had a fantastic sticky toffee pudding but it was not available this time.

Reheated frozen food, rude and obnoxious manageress, no atmosphere, will never set foot in the place again.

comida tradicional de pub en un tradicional pub del pueblo - buena relación calidad-precio, con unas ofertas cambiantes junta. los asados del domingo son excelentes. Evitar las patatas dos veces cocinadas aunque - quemada y correosos. Normalmente tiene una buena selección de cervezas que cambia con frecuencia, pero evita el Flacks y si es caluroso y luego tienes lager!

This pub does the best ham,egg & chips (triple cooked), I haven't managed to try anything else as I love it too much but they have steak nights & curry is on the menu daily. Friendly & good value

Lovely meal in a traditional English village Inn. Good local ales and hospitality. This is not fine dining just good, honest traditional fayre.
