Came here as a spontaneous idea on a Sunday with family. the beef was slightly tough and the veg was pretty hard however that wasn’t even the bad bit! The girl with the coloured hair (pinks and purples) had the most horrendous attitude. Her tone of voice was disgusting, they eye rolling was disgusting. she approached us a couple of times asking when the rest of our family would turn up because the pub was busy. we had purchased drinks and was waiting to order food when the rest of the family arrived. we had no booking time slot and the tables weren’t reserved. We certainly will not be coming back again. Working in hospitality myself I know how challenging busy and hard working it can be. However Some one needs to have words with this certain employee as this has stopped us coming again.

Food was delicious and not overpriced. We had the steak and ale pie and the burger. Both were great.

Very Very plain tasting food! I understand it’s pub grub but for the price it should be better than Wetherspoons which sadly it isn’t the burger was pretty shocking zero flavour but the worst was the condiments Ketchup was cheap vinegary taste mayo was like white nothingness and the mustard was cheap and nasty the condiments must be the cheapest of the cheap big bulk no name decanted in to small dipping bowls and when the food has no flavour and the condiments are that bad it equals a terrible experience food wise! The bar staff are lovely tho.

Fantastic pub -been here a few times while we have been on holiday, recently visited my daughter dropped her bracelet -not realising until after we left we then phoned the pub they found it and put it aside for us 😀 Thank you all well worth a visit

Stopped here for a late lunch on a Monday. It was quiet but we were welcomed in by a friendly member of staff who talked us through the specials menu. This place has been recently redecorated and it’s looking great. We had the pizza deal - two for £20 and they were delicious! We had our young baby with us and were made to feel very comfortable during our visit.

Had one of the best roast beef dinner here! Fabulous food and service! Highly recommend.

Popped in for a bite and a pint. A fantastic welcome from the team, very attentive to our needs and setting a superb, professional atmosphere. The beers were delicious and well kept (tribute and proper job both tried) and we shared a pizza which was freshly cooked and very tasty. The whole experience was wonderful and will now be our "go to" place in Truro. Oh and very reasonably priced too.... Well done all and thank you

The prices for what you receive are outrageous. This is a city basic pub so how they justify thier prices is unreal £9 for a glass of house white 😳😳 food is all fried or chucked together, avoid @ all costs

Had a roast lamb and belly pork, roast potatoes were great. Vegetables were nice but the meat must have been sous vide or poached because it had no colour but cooked well. Just a little lacking in depth of flavour.

Visited during the week when staying nearby. Wasn’t particularly busy but still had nice vibe about the place. The staff are fabulous, really nice and smiley and friendly and always happy to help. The place is super friendly to families as well with a good range on the menu. They also allow dogs inside. Food arrived quick and was tasty and hot. Totally recommend visit.

A really nice pub with a good vibe and great selection of food and drinks. It's maybe on the expensive side but the food we had was very nice. It's always very popular so you might struggle for a table.

We won a voucher to go the William, we were so impressed with the service and food! We came with our two kids, the staff were welcoming and the whole vibe of the place is just lovely. It was nice to see staff getting on laughing and smiling, there aren’t many places you see this these days. The manager Rich was brilliant, very welcoming and helpful. The food was lovely and arrived quickly. My partner loves food and hasn’t rated many places on portion sizes or food recently, but he kept saying how lovely the pizza was and how great the portion sizes were. We would definitely recommend to friends and family and we will be back again. We had a great experience today, thank you for making our Easter weekend! (We were the ones with the smiley baby in the highchair by the window).

Came here for the first time with my Godmother on Easter Sunday for a roast. We were sat in the conservatory, which was quite bright and rather warm, due to bursts of sun. We ordered a beef roast, and it was one of the best roasts we've had at any establishment; the veg was cooked to perfection, the size was extremely generous, the gravy was flavourful and plentiful and the beef was thickly cut and delightfully soft. The service was friendly and helpful, and a credit to the establishment. I would highly recommend visiting here for a great atmosphere, efficient service and excellent food.

We were made to feel very welcome as we entered the pub. Seated in the conservatory and went up to the bar to order drinks and our roast. My husband had beef and I had the beetroot and squash en croute. Gorgeous vegetables, carrots, roasties, parsnip, cabbage, brocolli, suede and cauliflower cheese. Beef was very tender.Portion size just right. Service was excellent and the tables were cleaned after each customer. Value for money too. Will definately visit again.

Met my sister for lunch. Went to Pierros opposite the William 1V. Rude staff and such an unpleasant welcome, we walked out and headed here. What a world of difference, friendly smiling faces from staff that couldn't do enough for us. Food was fab, wine cold and very pleasant environment. Love this place! 😁

Visited with work colleagues for dinner. Busy, despite it being a cold rainy Thursday evening which is testament to the warm friendly atmosphere, its obviously very popular. I ordered the rump steak, which was slightly overcooked but lovely all the same. Staff were very friendly and excellent service. Lovely pint of cider too.

Lovely roast dinner, great service

We were frequent customers with a usual spend of £70+ … Went to lunch and I was served a pint of Proper Job. It was off, so I returned it to the bar and was told that they knew it was near the end of the barrel so they were not surprised. No apology (giggles) but it was replaced. Ordered food. Eventually our fish and chip meal arrived. The batter was case hardened, dark brown and the fish inside was tough, shrivelled and way over cooked. When we complained we were told the apprentice had probably cooked it. Apology this time when the meal was re cooked. The manager was not there that lunchtime … in the past I have often complimented him on service and food. Shame this incident has let him down and reduced our list of where to eat in Truro. Alan

Best Sunday roast in Truro! Absolutely delicious. Freshly cooked vegetables, beautifully cooked roast beef and all the trimmings and it was piping hot. Would highly recommend!

Visited this weekend as they are serving roast dinners again, we all had a different roast and all were delicious! Food was fresh and hot, service was quick and easy and we will definitely be back to enjoy it again!

Have been coming here for years and always very happy. Recently came in for a quick bite before a cinema visit. Great atmosphere, fab menu with loads of choice and fabulous friendly staff.

Just finished our meal and drinks. The front of house guy was superb, welcoming, attentive, and there when needed. The bar staff were spot on. Warm and prompt. The food was lovely, well presented and good value for money. We'll go there again.

I went there today with my brother and his girl and me and him had burger and chips which was really nice and I brought the little one macaroni and cheese and she loved it I will definitely be going back

After buying a pint and a drink for my girlfriend and myself we sat down at a table to enjoy our drinks in peace. The table wasn't reserved and there was another empty table nearby also unreserved yet a rude staff member told us we had to move from the table (and stand up I guess) even though he admitted the table was not booked. The even ruder landlord said the same. As paying customers we are not putting up with this rudeness. Surely we can enjoy our drinks without feeling like we are in prison. T aking our custom elsewhere. Avoid

Lots of seating, a large menu, and friendly staff. I stopped by this pub for lunch and a coffee. There were a few, basic 🌱 vegetarian options on the menu: A margarita pizza 🍕, a cheese 🧀 and olive 🫒 board for sharing, a vegetable ciabatta, a few of the side 🍟 dishes, and the jackfruit burger. I ordered the jackfruit burger for £13. 🍔 The chips were good and it was nice to have something other than soy in a burger but I’d probably get the pizza next time (I heard they’re great here). ☕️ The coffee was really good. 💯 There are loads of seating options 🪑 and at least 📺 5 TVs on the walls. The staff were all friendly. The host came over and introduced the menu to us; sharing what specials they had on. Service was fast, too. The WiFi password is available on request. ♿️ Wheelchair accessibility: They have a lift to the accessible bathroom and options on the ground level for seating. ⚠️ There are two stairs to enter the restaurant and didn’t get to ask if they have a ramp.

Staff very pleasant, good value.

The atmosphere was nice, easy service at the bar. The disappointing part was the menu. 3 of our group of 9 are vegetarian and the choices were either a margarita pizza or a jackfruit burger. The lack of choice these days is unexpected and a let down, until the menu is updated we won't be back.

A comfy pub in the heart of Truro. Food is okay, service staff are warm, company is always excellent.

Very pleasing and spacious place. Salads were delicious. Asked if they could put the Arsenal game on and was told yes before we ordered. But that turned out to be not the case. We ate our food quickly and left to find the match elsewhere. Chairs at high top tables are uncomfortable for short people like me.

Popped in for lunch yesterday and took advantage of the half term offer of buy one get one free pizzas. Can honestly say that it was the best handmade pizza I have had in a long time! Great same friendly service and atmosphere as always. Highly recommended 👌

They don’t do carvery anymore so didn’t eat there. It’s a shame because it used to be amazing.

Absolutely gorgeous meal in this pub today. My friend had a gluten free pizza which she said was the best she'd tasted. I had the most gorgeous red thai curry. Will definitely go back here, Absolutely delicious! Nice attentive staff and lovely inside.

Lovely lunch once again at William IV kids meals were great they ate the lot which is unheard of. Chicken burger and waygu burgers were delicious. Friendly service. Also dog friendly which is a huge bonus.

Sharing this review on behalf of my mum who is not online. She took my brother there for his birthday. They were really disappointed, the food was awful. The peas were rock hard! The service was ok. She said she'd never return.

Lovely place gorgous food was nice atmosphere and even though there was football in wasn't over noisy staff were very helpful from start to finsh will be going again

What a find this little gem was. Down the bottom end of town but eye catching when you walk up to it and extremely welcoming when you entered. Menu catering for all. We just wanted a small bit and can highly recommend the Parmesan Fries, fully covered from top to bottom in Parmesan and the Aioli mayo side accompanying was perfect.

Very noisy when visited. Rugby on TV on every screen and speaker, really loud too. Only a handful of people watching. Would have been better to have some areas for just a social get together. Had to shout!

We came here for Sky TV coverage of a particular football match. Staff happily put the game on for us and had a great night with a grest selection of beer. Comfy pub. Lively. Would recommend. Oh and Southampton won.

O always visot The Billy when seeing in friends in Truro. A great pub with a really decent array of choice of on tap beers and ciders. Staff are always engagong, conversational and friendly. A very spacious pub on the inside and some nice outdoor area too for when its sunny. Always a good time to be had at Billy's.

I had time to kill and was hungry, and desperately wanted to sit down. The little side garden is a total sun trap, and the staff were super helpful. Food arrived quick, and the portions were huge. Lots of cut chicken, thick granary bread, and crisp but fluffy fries. The house Prosecco was nice too, really made the meal.

Loved the service and the food here! Couldn’t do enough for us! 8 adults a 2 year old and 2 dogs. Thank you so much for having us. Xxxx
