Lovely atmosphere and even though the food was booking only we were squeezed in. An excellent lunch and well worth it! Return visit in May and exactly the same, a really great place to visit! Update: I really like this pub, it's lovely but there is a sign outside saying Sunday 'roast' lunch every Sunday, except even though it's only early September- you can't as they don't serve it? So, if not (which is fine, their choice) then take the blackboard in! Pretty simple. Closed Tuesdays which is fair enough if course. Update: Still excellent, lovely place!

The pub is olde world and extremely quaint and authentic. The kind of place tourists should and do love. The menu was very inventive, the food was outstanding and the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. There is a vast array of drinks on offer and even large displays of local artisan jewellery and paintings and drawings. Wonderful 😊

Seems they were having a bit of a nightmare with food during our visit - we overheard many complaints from different tables so we were a little apprehensive. Have to say though our food was fine - not brilliant but definitely good enough. Food aside our waitress was absolutely fantastic - super friendly despite how stressed she must have been with the issues caused by the kitchen - 5+/5 for service, will definitely visit again.

The service was rude, the food took over an hour to be delivered to the table also the order was incomplete we had to wait another 10 minutes for the last meal.( no apology) Would have gone there everyday of the holiday for drinks and snacks but because of the rudeness I stopped going basically loosing them about £500.. The Albion has stopped me going to crantock.

We ate here several times during our stay in Crantock. Each meal was great. It's made fresh and you can tell the difference. The prices are very reasonable - a Guinness and Double Vodka and diet coke was just over £10 which I found was at least £4 less than other licensed premises in the area. Dogs are allowed in the restaurant and pub area and there's plenty of seating outside too.

We always go here for sunday lunch when we visit Crantock, it's such a lovely Cornish pub. Food is good and all the bottles of wine are reasonably priced. It's nice to have your meal and then sit outside for a drink afterwards. This time there was live music in the beer garden, a crazy, wonderful afternoon. The staff, as always are polite and accommodating. Sunday lunch was good, my only criticism would be that the vegetarian roast was more like a children's meal this time. Shame because it was so nice, just very sparse. All in all, still a good afternoon and we will be back again.

We waited over an hour for this so we eat paid and left as if we moaned we would have to wait another half hour as I witnessed from another table. We ordered 2 fish and chips, chilli and a kids chicken nuggets. The food was over all ok but for the prices you expect very nice food. The main issue was the fish and chips at £17 each… £34 for 2 fish and chips. When it came one had the top half and other had the bottom. Would not recommend unless you want to pay a fortune for a minimal amount of OK food.

Exceptional staff! What a gem of a pub! We visited the Old Albion during the second week of January to celebrate my Mum’s 60th. The enthusiasm and kindness shown to us by all the staff, particularly Abigail and her manager (Hopkins?), were above and beyond anything we’d ever experienced in a pub before. From showing us how to make cocktails and mocktails to explaining the menu inside out with great humour made our night and even our whole year. My Mum and whole family were over the moon with the experience and we can’t thank you all enough. We will be back!

Uninterested Staff, Shown a table then left without asking for drinks or food. Drinks you order from the bar, out of three meals one was served cold. The waitresses were nice, and the one was very chatty and friendly. No music or TV on to keep patrons occupied, customers arrived at the bar and ignored. Wouldn't recommend it if you're hungry. Parking is nonexistent, three car bays out the front. Gave a tip to one waitress who looked like she never had one before, staff are friendly and the setting is beautiful. The manager was seen leaving the premises and leaving staff to their own devices.

This is such a classic country pub - warm and cosy in winter and buzzing with friends outside in the sun in summer. The food is always awesome (best Nachos in the Newquay area I reckon) and there's a massive selection of local ciders. We arrived at 7.45pm in search of a drink and food . Choosing and getting served for a drink was no problem but when it came to getting food it was a very curt no. The waitress ridiculed herself by saying no service inside but possibly outside like we were a couple of dogs. No thanks we would rather spend our money elsewhere where we happily did at Watergate Bay . This small minded rude service does nothing to encourage tourists to support local pubs . This is frankly a lazy rude attitude that dogged the British tourist trade in the 70s . I’m

Went here last night as recommended by our reception staff at Parkdean (where you can only eat if you are willing to download their app). Expected much better really. Wanted to eat either Sunday to Tuesday evenings, but no chance of that, so we booked for Weds evening. Checked in advance to see if they catered for wheelchair users, and told yes, no problem, just a few small steps - therefore, what they should have said was no. Waited for food for almost an hour, and one meal was sent back on two occasions as it was cold. No apology offered, just the usual reheated microwave fodder. Very disappointed in this establishment.

I hate writing negative reviews but our dinner tonight was disappointing. It felt like the pub had overbooked and just couldn’t cope. Despite booking the table 5 days earlier, they seemed surprised by our arrival and we were directed to a dirty table. We cleaned the table ourselves. After ordering two starters and 4 mains we were told it would be about a half hour wait. During this time, another couple walked out as their food was so poor (cold gammon, claggy rice with a curry). Our starters finally arrived after 50 minutes and were no more than passable. Mains arrived an hour and a quarter after ordering. Gammon and chips was barely warm, catch of the day was the most basic bit of hake with capers thrown over and Greek salad seemed to have about half a pot of oregano sprinkled over it. By this point, it was too late to eat anywhere else so we stayed and ate but left as soon as we could. It was such a shame… we’d heard positive things about the food but clearly tonight was not their night. If you’re in need of nice pub food, I’d recommend The Old Ship or the Golden Lion.
