We booked here for a carvery. Up on arrival the place was full of drinkers on a Sunday night. The restaurant was not the best and smelt of bad air freshener covering the smell of damp. We had a carvery that to be fair was not that bad. The place is very run down and could do with a refurb. The staff were friendly this place could be good if they decide to do it up and make it good for food but sadly its definitely more of a drinkers pub with bad lighting and could do with a clean up

They turned up in a van as a pop up at Berrow Church, and we, and our neighbours, jumped at the chance for hot fish and chips at home. The guys, and lady, were lovely and chatty, and the food was delicious. The gluten free fish was exceptional and it's rare that my wife gets to enjoy fish that tasty. A very generous portion of chips, and the peas were exactly as you'd expect. Thank you for a lovely Thursday night meal

Fabulous pub in the heart of Kingsholm just opposite the gates of Gloucester Rugby. Great atmosphere even on non-match days with friendly staff, comfortable seating areas and a great selection of beers etc.

Food was tasty but the seafood/fish portions were tiny for the price paid. £13 for a tri-scallops appetiser with each scallop no bigger than a 10-pence piece. Shouldn’t these scallops be left in the sea a while longer? The Thai monkfish main course was also tasty but at £25 was tiny. I understand that I will be paying a premium for the stunning Isles of Scilly location but expected more from a high-quality restaurant that is supposed to be showcasing the best in local seafood. I politely gave this feedback to my waiter but no attempt was made by the hotel management team to discuss this feedback before the bill arrived.

Yesterday me and my partner stopped at the York Hotel for 1 night, this was such a lovely experience for us, we was greeted by a gentleman with a smile on his face, welcoming and professional, it was only minutes after our arrival we was given keys, instructions and exploring our room for the night. The room was just as expected, roomy with a double bed, private bathroom, tea/coffee, TV, hair dryer, towels. Although the room was slightly outdated the room was spotless and well presented. The bed was comfortable and the large window allowed natural daylight and fresh air into the room. We was not far from the restaurant but the noise traffic was not heard from the room. On the evening we decided to eat at the restaurant, They staff that served us (Amelia, Will and Crystal) was welcoming, friendly, well presented and very professional. THE FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING! I myself had a mixed grill where everything down to the peas was cooked with perfection and my partner had the ribs which was delicious! The restaurant had beautiful sea front views, calm and relaxing, the staff was helpful and took my allergies into consideration, they wasn't over to check on us to often leaving us to enjoy our meal in peace but checking in at the right times to remove plates, replenish drinks and ensure all was well with the meal. If I could of stopped longer I certainly would of! Me and my partner visit Westin Super Mare each year and this is the first restaurant we said we would definitely come back to affordably and excellent in many ways! Hats off to the owners, management and everyone involved in making the stay perfect! We will be back to visit again! (Hopefully next year)

I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, the rooms were disappointing. They were outdated, dirty, and in need of maintenance. The view from my window was dreadful- definitely not worth £140. While the manor looks impressive from the outside and in photos, the interior tells a different story. I also visited the spa, where the staff were friendly, but the cleanliness was subpar. I found a bitten-off toenail stuck to my hand while in the jacuzzi, which made me feel physically ill. Upon further inspection, I noticed several more toenails by the side of the jacuzzi, along with hairs stuck to the wall. I wouldn't recommend this place and certainly won't be returning.

Ordered food staff very good, food arrived and the 2 pasta dishes were cold, so we took them back and they were reheated. The chicken on the pasta was in breadcrumbs and burnt . The third dish was Brie, bacon and cranberry hot sandwich served with fry’s and coleslaw, the bacon was dry and rubbery and the Brie was hard to find as there was so little. Fries cold coleslaw looks like it had seen better days. I did return the Third meal and got a refund which was offered. The staff out front were very polite and agreed that it was not acceptable.

Highly recommend this charming pub in the heart of Dymock, near Ledbury and nestled within the famous daffodil walking area. Run by the warm and welcoming Matt and Ali, along with their children, Noah and Greta. This family-friendly establishment is a true gem. They are passionate about their village and ensure that every visitor is greeted with friendliness and helpful suggestions. The pub boasts an excellent selection of carefully maintained beers, spirits, and other beverages. Their food menu is equally impressive, offering a great range of dishes. My personal favorite is their fantastic burgers—served in a soft white bun with cheese and onion, far superior to well-known fast-food alternatives. The steaks are also exceptional, but the highlight has to be their Sunday roasts. Generous in portion and full of flavor, the beef roast is my top pick, featuring crispy roast potatoes, fresh vegetables, and rich gravy. One piece of advice: bring a doggy bag—you’ll likely struggle to finish it all! The pub is incredibly dog-friendly, making it a great spot for families (including any mischievous little ones). At the back, there’s a lovely, well-protected garden, perfect for enjoying a drink in the warmer months. Throughout the year, the pub hosts various events, a testament to how well-loved and respected Matt and Ali are within the community. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this pub is well worth a visit!
