We stayed for my husbands birthday. I was a bit weary as we had just come out of lockdown but did not have to worry. Everyone wore a mask and there was hand sanitiser everywhere.Even in the B&B part of the pub. The room had a great view over the fields at the front of the pub. Modern decor, very clean and the usual teas and coffees with an added touch of sweets. The meal at the pub was lovely. The host was welcoming and very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was great. There are some lovely walks if you want to blow off a few cobwebs. Will definately be returning.

Personal amigable.

A lovely local village pub. We booked this very last minute and what a delightful find it was. The owners are great and very welcoming. Super comfy beds and decent sized rooms above the pub. Loved the selection of “old school” sweets in the tea and coffee station. Didn’t eat dinner as they don’t serve on a Sunday but went to the New Inn on John, the owners suggestion. Breakfast was great. Heartily recommended for a pub away from the more tourist filled villages.

Two of us visited for lunch on a sunny Wednesday. The inside of this old pub has been very tastefully fitted out with up to date modern furniture and colours creating a very pleasant ambience. I was greeted by the manager who was very jolly and has a quirky sense of humour. We chose to take advantage of the good weather and eat outside in the paved beer garden at the front of the pub. We just had the one course, my friend opting for the fish and chips and I had a chicken dish. The food was very good, the surroundings were pleasant, the service was good and the toilets were spotless.

We arrived at the Keepers Arms, at 6pm on a Saturday evening - a pre-wedding party, who were willing and eager to spend money on food and drinks whilst watching a sporting fixture. We had all travelled for hours to get to the Cotswolds, and were eager to eat - a bowl of chips would have sufficed. We spent about five hours in the pub, and were denied food, even though other guests were being served. The staff were surly and rude, depending on the staff member my girlfriend could or couldn’t order her drink of choice even though the ingredients were in plain sight. It was an odd and altogether unpleasant experience, and didn’t make sense to us as paying customers who would have spent a fortune on chips (let alone a full dinner)!

We booked this for a family wedding last weekend. The location is lovely and the cottage is a lovely layout. We have stayed in several places and for the money we would expect some milk and tea/coffee supplies - nothing there at all apart from dreid stale coffee in the tin. We would also expect the fire to be laid. The cottage wasn't the cleanest when we arrived, the fire had not been laid (half burnt log and ash still in log burner), TVs didn't work no signal at all and ants in the kitchen near the front door and sink. Not what we expected (especially with a small child running around). Found the manager/owner quite rude. We went into the pub on the Sat evening for food (a large party of 8 adults and 3 children). When my brother went ahead of us to get a table he asked for a glass of water - he was bluntly asked - 'you are going to be ordering more than that - food and drinks?' - so a score of 0 on hospitality. And when we were checking out, we asked to confirm the check out time and we had half an hour left. The owner rudely looked at his watch and said 'well you better get a wriggle on!' We were in the process of packing up the car so this response was not warranted. After spending over £600 in your establishment I would not recommend that it is value for money or good customer service.

Bed was extremely comfortable, one of the best nights sleep I’ve had for ages and the room was spacious and nicely presented. Shower was lovely and water always hot. The suite is on the top floor in the eves of the pub so very tall people need to watch their heads going from room to room but plenty of headroom in the rooms. Lovely fresh cooked breakfast each morning with good choice of alternatives to full English and choice of different coffees and teas. We also ate in the pub in the evenings and everything we ate was lovely. Only small gripe was small choice of starters and puddings but the main course was ample so didn’t really matter. Fantastic Gin Menu which kept me extremely happy & lovely atmosphere in the pub in the evening. Would highly recommend staying at the Keepers Arms and would not hesitate to return.

I hardly know where to begin. This has to be without doubt the worst experience of appalling customer service I have ever encountered. I was born in Quenington and persuaded two of my older friends to accompany me to the wonderful fresh air sculpture exhibition today. Walking back to the car we noticed a sign for Wynstones ice cream and called into the Keepers Arms. The landlord (I presume) greeted us with 'do you want a drink?'. No hello or what can.I get you?. I asked for ice cream and what the flavours were. He told me to just look on the board. After waiting ages the ice cream X 3 arrived in bowls. When my friend said she thought they would come in a cone (as they tend to) he replied that that was it or nothing. We were all a little taken aback by his rudeness but took our ice creams outside. He wandered out a few minutes later to talk to some other customers he knew and during their exchange remarked in a very loud voice, "all I get here is the old and gay." My friends were extremely upset by these comments, especially after the way he had spoken to us in the pub. I was so angry I called into the pub before we left to tell him how rude I thought he was. Of course he had no idea what I was talking about. Oblivious.I would never entertain the idea of returning for a glass of water, let alone food or drink and I suggest you do the same. I would imagine that plenty of his regular customers are both old and gay and I wonder how they would feel if they knew how he felt? Appalling.

We visited this place at lunchtime on a hot sunny day. The pub was busy but the bar team were very efficient and friendly and we didn't have to wait long to order food and drinks. The menu was ok but had a reasonable variety to choose from. Prices looked ok so we chose a ploughman lunch for two at £12.50. When it came there was no pickle with it and on asking was advised that was not an available option. Brad was just four slices pieces of white bread, the ham was good but the cheese was simple smoked applewood. The home made pork pie was ok but on the small side - if we'd chosen a single portion for £5 less it would have been disappointing. A lovely location but cannot hide disappointment overall at value for money being perhaps not quite there. Will visit for an evening meal to see if this changes.

We stayed here one night to attend a wedding reception at The Swan Hotel in Bibury where the cost of a room there was extortionate. The pub/hotel was spotless and the room was lovely , the beams are low so my husband whose 6'3" did struggle a bit! The bar area has a traditional rustic feel to it and is a Free House to boot. When we asked about taxis to The Swan the owner said he would run us there in his car (it is about 3 miles or so away) .. now that's what I call service !!! Breakfast was fine despite them having to attend to a party of 12 adults and children from Spain who were staying as well , I am sure it would be have been a better experience had they not been there. I am so glad we stayed here at not The Swan, their food was not a patch on The Keepers (we had a light meal before leaving for the reception ) I have to say. and have a wide variety of gins to choose from if that's what you like Quenington is a quiet pretty village and a great base to visit the Cotswolds. A very warm welcome was given by the landlord and his staff to my wife and our monster size Great Dane! We were made to feel very much at home. There was a good choice of lunch time food on offer. We very much enjoyed the bacon and brie sandwich. The bacon, which came from a local butcher in Lechlade, was the finest we had tasted in a long time. The food is locally sourced and the list of named suppliers is proudly displayed in the bar - this was a nice touch.Quenington is a great place for a stroll in the Cotswolds and the Keepers Arms offers a wonderful stopping off point.

We were a party of 6 for the most delicious Sunday lunch. The Roast Pork and Beef was excellent with a variety of fresh vegetables cooked to perfection, accompanied by a gorgeous coliflower cheese. Looking forward to mashed carrot and suede on our next visit. Excellent waitress service on a very busy Sunday afternoon.

Just had a brilliant afternoon, we were a party of 7, we had starters, mains and deserts, all exceptionally well cooked. Plenty of fresh assorted vegetables to accompany the roasts, and a special order of Cauliflower cheese, was very much appreciated. Every thing was great from our welcome when we arrived, to the girls and John serving us, and we will definitely be back x

We had eaten at the Fleece Inn in Cirencester and discovered that the chef had moved to this pub so we thought we'd give it a try. The barman was welcoming and witty, and the pub itself was lovely. The waitress did not appear to be well trained and needed to know more about what comes with dishes, as well as how to respond to questions. e.g. 'I am not sure' does not really help the customer, whereas 'let me go and check....I'll be back in a moment' does. The food was fine without being anything special. I had a steak, our two friends had the pie, and my wife had the fish. The fish dish was the most disappointing of the four with the pies being the best choice. The chocolate fondant for pudding was again nice without being fantastic. So all in all a perfectly OK evening but not memorable and not what we had hoped it would be.

Quite fortunate to stay here for the weekend. The owners are lovely as are the locals. We stayed in the earl grey room upstairs which was done up to a very high standard. Would definitely recommend having a bit to eat from the pub.. special shout out to the mussels on toast. So yummy.

We visited the pub with friends for Sunday lunch, the pub having been recommended to us. We had the roast beef and yorkie, and it was very good, as were our desserts. Also the Butcombe was excellent. The only negative comment was that the main course was not very warm. Also, unfortunately, we had a family sitting near us with a infant that cried and grizzled for most of the time we were in the pub.

Went on the recommendation from family on a Saturday night. Arrived before the kitchen closed and ordered starters and main. When requested a dessert, was told no as the chef had cleared down the kitchen, so dessert was refused. Found this quite bizarre as the rest of the order had been accepted so we were technically an 'open table' (still live until we pay the bill). No one ate really slowly, so we weren't penalised for that, and we were having a quiet family meal, so we weren't causing trouble and had to be removed. I've worked in many restaurants and would never refuse an 'open table' a dessert. I was taught however, to ask a table when they had finished their main, and the kitchen was closed for taking new orders, if they thought they may have a dessert, just in case the kitchen could wrap up for the night, but never pressurise the customer. We had eaten starters and a main, and we wanted desserts/coffee, and to be told the kitchen refused as they had wiped down was ridiculous. First time this has ever happened to me and the people I was with.

We last visited this delightful village pub two years ago for Sunday Lunch. Our second visit was last Sunday also for lunch..six of us. We're almost regulars now!! We had the same warm, friendly and witty welcome from the landlord as our first visit. The service was friendly, efficient unobtrusive..in fact a delight. Two of us had roast pork, one roast beef, one had chicken and two had the excellent fish and chips, ...as we knew the fish portion was extremely generous we asked if two could share one portion. no problem was the reply. The fish was halved and battered separately. A nice touch. The food was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Our only smallest of observations was that more attention could be made to the vegetables which were not the best we have had...but having said that I would recommend this pub in a heart beat to any one.Highly recommended We all enjoyed

We stayed in the lovely village of Quenington in the Cotswolds and were pleasantly surprised to find a pub/restaurant within 50yds of the accommodation. We ate there on 4 of the 7days residence and cannot speak too highly of the food, staff and above all the convivial atmosphere . Between us we probably tried every item on the menu and were not disappointedwith any meal.A big plus is the range of ales that are changed regularly. If we aree ver in the area again we shall return to the Keepers Arms.n

Friendly local pub which has excellent food and good cheerful service. Beer selection is changed regularly. The atmosphere in both summer (space outside overlooking fields) and winter ( selection of wood burners, beams etc) is lovely. Dogs welcome. Popular with walkers. Haven't tried the accommodation as live locally

We visited this pub during a weekend away in the Cotswolds. The staff were friendly and chatty. Great knowledge and collection of gin! However we were told on arrival that food was limited as had run out of a lot of things due to it being busy early in the day. After going through what was available still we placed our orders. Service was quick. However a chicken and potatas bravas dish was served with chips instead, without informing us that they had run out or giving us the option to change our mind/potato choice.

The walks are amazing if somewhat challenging at times. The scenery is beautiful. John the owner is masterful in his domain & has the knack to make you very relaxed. The staff are exceptional & the food... magnificent at affordable prices. Definitely a place we will go again.

Stayed the weekend in Grove House in the 2 bedroom cottage attached to the Keepers Arms (find on Airbnb) whilst attending a wedding in Bibury. Lovely cottage. Well equipped kitchen (not that we used it), bathroom upstairs with toiletries provided and downstairs toilet. One double and one twin bedded room. Lovely comfortable beds and plenty of bedding and towels provided. Comfortable lounge with log burner and 2 leather sofas plus an additional sitting room that leads to the outside area. Ate dinner on the Friday in the keepers arms and lunch on the Sunday. Food good although slightly overpriced compared to other similar pubs. Great ambience though and would definitely return.

WE got in this pub at about 2pm on a Sunday so well within the food serving times. They simply told us that they were not going to serve us as they were expecting several booked tables and so could not cope.Don't operate a a pub if you cannot serve your customers. Only half of the tables were occupied in any case. Disgraceful.
