Absolutely wonderful lunch. Everyone did everything possible to make our meal a pleasure. We had a vegan in our party and Karl the chef couldn't have been more helpful. Excellent food (I had the brisket) at a very reasonable price. £20 for 2 courses. We were treated like kings

Had so many recommendations about this cafe, that we decided to try it out. Lovely atmosphere, the brothers are so friendly and welcoming. I opted for the lasagne with salad and chips, my husband had the corned beef pie with chips, peas and gravy and my grandson had the chicken nuggets, chips and beans. Food was served within minutes, steaming hot. Have to say it didn't disappoint, food was delicious. The cafe itself is busy and we can see why, it's a very popular eatery, will we be back? Oh yes that's guaranteed. Well done!! 10/10

We went here following glowing reviews on social media and here on trip advisor. Very disappointed with our lunch. You have to order at the bar and pay include the tip without the knowledge that they earned it! Our lunch which was from the small plate menu Lamb, and portion of chips. It took 40 minutes to arrive even after a reminder. others near us had theirs served before us even though we had arrived first. We sat on a table in the middle of the restaurant. We seemed to be isolated, window seats on larger tables were available but not to a 2. We quite often find this in some establishments but are usually offered a better table when requested. When we left 6 customers left. Oh dear, we shan't be back. By the way we find the shop also expensive. Other deli's offer more and better value.

Another fantastic lunch served by the attentive friendly Nico, food was delicious , very hot. My husband had the lamb kofta which came with a lovely fresh salad including dressing and a grains/rice mixture that he was impressed with. I had the sweet and sour fish which was accompanied by fresh home made chips and prawn crackers. Can't fault the food or service, looking forward to coming back soon.

On a short visit to South Wales, we wanted to visit Barry because of it's links to a certain TV programme. Unfortunately it was a wet, windy autumn day. The actual sea front at Barry has been extensively modernised and now has great walks to explore. It still has some of the old more traditional sea side businesses, which are important to retain. Bay 5 is in a great location, and provides good quality coffee and snacks, at a (slightly) higher price than some of the traditional businesses nearby - we felt there was room for both here. In summery, great coffee, pancakes with friendly/helpful owner/staff.
