This pub has been bought by the villagers. It’s is wonderful in so many ways. Cowbridge seems to be a black hole of decent food aside from the hare and hounds and maple and bean. This felt like a proper community pub in the 90s. The staff were all amazing. The food was amazing. There wasn’t a 400% markup on rubbish wine. The service as great. The atmosphere was lovely. Great starters of crab and squid were followed by perfectly cooked steak. The doughnuts with custard cream and strawberries were lovely. No rip off frozen food or “small plates” that nobody likes here. Go and support places like this. The rest of cowbridge eateries need to up their game.

Family meal . Sunday lubch expensive for what you got. Stated had run out of meat but enough for us. Adult Meat portions were tiny same size as kids meals yet £27 instead of £9.50. Beef could hardly be chewed. Tge placecwas nice with beer garden and friendly staff but meall disappointing

Wow what a place! Beautiful styling in the bar restaurant and outside with all the Adirondacks to chill in with a sunshine glass of something! Delicious Sunday lunch with the beef served like a perfect steak alongside a Yorkshire the size of a side plate and a generous helping of roasties, mash, veg and gravy. We tried two of the puddings and they both appeared home made and tasted stunning. Good wine selection at reasonable prices. All topped off with excellent service from every staff member we interacted with all extremely welcoming even when we booked last minute. We will be back!

Enjoyed a fun family reunion here last week. Food was excellent, as was the service. Girls said the wine was good, and the non alcoholic choices made sure we could drive home. Would not hesitate to recommend.

This pub is in a beautiful location. The food here was spot on! Their homemade focaccia bread for sharing starter was amazing. I had the buttermilk chicken for starter and the fillet steak for main from the special board. Food was piping hot and massive portions! Upgrade your chips for garlic and Parmesan. They are incredible. Service was excellent. Would definitely come back here on my next visit to Wales.

Had to leave a review as the food and service was fantastic here on Sunday. Haven’t visited for a few years and loved the update. Such a cosy and welcoming pub with a lovely team of staff. The roasts had 5* from us all and we literally fought over the puddings…I’d love to know the recipe for that cheesecake it was something else! Our new go-to for a Sunday treat. Thanks!

Visited with mum and daughter as birthday treat. Absolutely stunning food and first class service. Hats off to the staff at The Fox. Beautiful pub with plenty of parking space, 2 log burners, interior beautifully decorated. 2 course set lunch. We ate fish and chips: steak and chips. All cooked to perfection, with trimmings. Tasted beautiful. No food left on plates. Very good price for the meals. Pub has been taken over by villagers and you can see they are keen to keep the pub going in the future. Honestly we were blown away by the service, ambience and staff. Top class. Well done. We will be back.

Beautiful atmosphere and a really cosy place to relax. The best gammon I have ever tasted and very well priced. Big portion size. A good selection of wine and the sticky toffee pudding and custard was the perfect way to finish the meal. I will definitely be visiting again.

Really good…..we have had a jolly good feed! The pub is warm, clean and the young staff are really happy and friendly. The meal we had was delicious. I had the salmon starter , followed by a juicey gammon, egg and chips. The serving staff were on the ball and all in all the overall experience was lovely. I sincerely hope this resident buy out pub makes it in the future, they’re trying hard and good luck to them. 😁👍

Absolutely beautiful Sunday lunch. I had turkey and my husband had beef. Both were beautiful with loads of lovely veg and homemade Yorkshire puddings. Really good gravy too. Open fires and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend 👌

Beautiful setting, nice comfortable seating but not enough room as too many tables crammed into the dining area. The waiting staff were constantly squeezing past us and asking us to move in so they could get past. Very little choice on the menu. The chicken lemon and pepper linguine was very bland, the chicken lacked flavour the pasta was dry and luke warm. The steak was very thin and disappointing. Cheese and biscuits was on the menu as a starter, we asked if it could be served as a desert. We were told it was not possible. At that point we gave up, paid the bill and left. Such a shame, this place could be so nice. Let down by poor food, poor service and inflated prices.

We walked from Cowbridge to the Fox and back to rediscover this charming traditional public house. It has everything you would want from a GREAT pub. A very good selection of beers, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks. A menu that provides a variety of meal options from beautifully prepared sandwiches and lamb burgers etc., to a truly delicious meat pie, filled to the brim! It has a relaxed atmosphere with comfy chairs. The hosts were welcoming and very caring when one of our party was unwell. The forthcoming music nights look interesting so we will certainly return for lunch or dinner in the near future.

Unfortunately, it was the most disappointing Sunday lunch I've had in a pub. The lamb was undercooked - I don't mind it a bit rare, but it was very fatty and sinewy and chewy. The Yorkshires were dry and burnt, and judging from the identical size and shape on every plate, were readymade/frozen, not homemade. The roast potatoes had the mealy texture of potatoes that had been reheated (we ate early so couldn't even use the excuse that it was the end of service) and were not even the slightest bit crispy. To be fair, our server was great and had I complained i have no doubt she would have tried to help, but the fact that so many key elements were bad, it felt like a lost cause. I'm very surprised the chef was ok to send it out from the kitchen in the first place. At £21 it was definitely overpriced and under delivered. I was not the only disappointed customer - I heard someone else complain about the lamb too. Gave it 2 stars because apparently the chicken was ok.

£17.95 for two slices of beef and a few bits of veg. Food was warm at best, definitely not hot. Left feeling completely underwhelmed and ripped off. We were not asked if everything was ok, during the meal. Or, if we’d enjoyed it, when we paid the bill. Very telling! Avoid!

Is ok , sometimes staff good , other times not so much. However , the main point is this has got to be the earliest closing fish and chip shop in Wales if not the whole of the UK!

We have been visiting the Casa Paco restaurant for a few years. Each meal is better than the last and we’re always made to feel welcome. The meals are consistently high standard, I can’t wait to go again. We had many deliveries in lockdown and they were always piping hot and fresh. Karen and the team are wonderful hosts and cannot do enough for us. My favourite it the fillet steak and Rossini sauce - highly recommend!

I have been here quite a few times with friends. It's a lovely place with a very well stocked shop if you are looking for special food and drink items for a treat. I have always enjoyed the food in the cafe, but this time I was sadly disappointed. I ordered the spiced lamb. I asked if it would be well done when I ordered and was told it would be. The flavour of the dish was delicious, but although the lamb was of very good quality it wasn't cooked enough which left the fat on it very chewy. I don't mind the fattier cuts of lamb if they are cooked enough to be either soft or crispy but chewy is not good. I didn't send it back because having to do that ruins my experience anyway.

2nd visit to Penarth and the windsor restaurant and tea rooms. Welcoming, friendly and food great. Pity I couldn't fit in dessert they looked lush.
