Victoria Inn in The Vale of Glamorgan

Fabulous bed and breakfast Inn. A quite location just a short drive from Cowbridge but within easy reach of Cardiff and many other South Wales attractions. Rooms have all you could ask for, including a large, extremely comfortable bed, tea, and coffee making facilities ( replenished every day) wall mounted TV etc. The breakfasts are a must, A full Engish all with locally sourced produce. Lunch and Evening meals are available with a varied menu. All the staff are extremely helpful and polite. Beryl & Michael are the hosts in this lovely establishment and are more than happy to assist you with any information you may need. My wife and I have stayed at the Victoria several times now and always go back when we visit South Wales. Highly recommend 👌

We had a fantastic warm welcome and were shown to our table, menus were brought to the table and drinks order was taken, promptly. Our order was taken in an efficient and friendly manner. The food was excellent and extremely tasty and worth every penny. All of the staff are friendly and Victoria Inn is a must visit place to eat and enjoy yourself.

Great place for a late in the day Sunday roast & a catch up with friends sat outside.

First time here had the Hunters Chicken. Portions are fab and food was delicious.

Visited this local country pub last night for dinner, food was excellent, very tasty, service was brilliant the staff made us feel very welcome. pub is spotlessly clean also and has a lovely atmosphere. we will be coming again soon.

Only popped in for a drink, so can't comment on the food or the accommodation. Staff were friendly and helpful, there's a decent selection of beers in a hidden gem.

We were here as part of a large group (12 people) on 28th June. We regularly attend trackdays at the nearby Llandow circuit and always eat here on the Friday evening. The welcome we always receive, the friendly and hospitable staff really make a difference and as always this was faultless. It was a warm and busy evening. I had cheesy garlic bread and the wife had prawn cocktail starters. For mains I had chose from the "Friday Grill Specials" chicken and chorizo hanging kebab... it was awesome and tasted amazing. I wish i had taken some pictures to share! The wife had lasagne (it's her favourite) and again as always was faultless. Always get a side of onion rings too. There was a small problem with one meal in our party, however it was resolved swiftly and did not affect the good spirits of the evening. Thank you to all of the staff for yet another lovely evening and we look forwards to coming back again soon (maybe even as early as September).

Lovely local little pub with rooms. Didn’t stay but the food was lovely as was the service. Great place to go if in the area.

Friday night grill night was amazingly good!

It's a lovely village inn very well presented. I've been on several occasions from lunch to dinner, and have always received excellent service. The meals were great on all occasions, and the various beverages were all refreshing, always given a warm welcome by the staff , highly recommended.

Some nice beers staff friendly. Lovely outside space.

Lovely village pub, fabulous food here. Stayed overnight in our camper so can't comment on the rooms at this inn. I expect they are fantastic like the restaurant and bar area. So nice and quiet here, no noise at night, very peaceful and a good night's sleep. Thank you and we'll definitely return again.

First time, but it certainly will not be the last lovely food great service we'll recommend. You will not be disappointed

Came for lunch as we were visiting the area . Quiet disappointed with food. Although you had 4 vegan options they were very limited so felt abligated to order Two very basic meals for £15.95 each. I had the vegetable lasagna which had barely any filling - mostly red peppers and two slices of watery veg inside with A side of four chips. My partner ordered the tart with was also lacking flavour and a side of burnt chips. You don’t accommodate for plant based children as there was no option for my child who has dairy allergies. So we asked if we could order A child’s jacket potatoe and beans which we were later charged £7 pound for which is definitely overpriced as it was a very small potatoe. When it arrived it was covered in cheese so was left to wait. The new one was so hot it took over 5 mins to cool down ( perhaps it was put in The microwave for too long?) When I questioned the price of child’s meal with the teenage staff who were running the place to-day he said ( I took two pound off the adults price ) When i asked to speak to management he said there isn’t any today and he would have done the same as i did. I explained childrens meals usual come with a main drink or side , we basically ordered A side and was still charged the full price. The young waiter just looked at me and said nothing . Clearly didn’t understand my frustration or disappointment. Left feeling disappointed hungry and annoyed after spending A total of £30 on basic food. Overpriced and under seasoned. Will not come again

I have had over the recent months quite a few lunch time visits for what I would describe as a good all round varied menu, love the wine cellar, some really nice wines at affordable prices, but try to stay off the wine by the glass, keeping wine after opening never works and the glass or Rioca I had yesterday was witness to this. Having yesterday April 14th Celebrated my Wedding Anniversary, all 31yrs of them I had the mixed grill and my wife the Trout, both were excellent meals and if I had to be moan about anything it would be the lack of a good French Mustard and the Re-Heated Jacket Potato, but the steak on the mixed grill was the best I had ever experienced on a mixed grill in my entire life and a Feast. My last visit however did not reflect any of the above and I feel it is time to move on; service was awful, desert menu extremely poor, no cheese board offered and the coffee a disgrace. Sorry Victoria Inn but you have poisoned the well. Mr Spence Eng

If there was 6 stars they would have it! From the moment we arrived, we felt at home, the room was fantastic, we went down for dinner at our allocated time and the food was exceptional! Extremely great value for money. Shame about the weather but the hotel made up for it. Breakfast was fantastic will definitely come back and would recommend to everyone. Thank you for anamzing stay!

Had an absolutely excellent meal here. All freshly cooked and with a lovely homemade feel All 5 of us couldn't fault any dish. Great service Main meal and afters only around £20. Another very nice stay at the Victoria Inn, comfortable rooms, friendly welcome, excellent breakfasts and Dinner menu. Vegetarian options too. We had the Christmas menu and would definitely recommend that. Great Christmas decorations. Good selection of beers at the bar also.

We stayed for one evening before attending a function in the area. Really nice pub with a friendly host and staff. We had an excellent double room with an en-suite shower room. Everything was spotlessly clean and there was a TV in the room. Good quality fully cooked breakfast served in the bar. A reasonable rate for the service and facilities.

Happened to be in the area last Sunday and googled ‘Sunday lunch near me’. Luckily we were 2 miles away. I would have travelled 20 miles knowing what I know now. Great Sunday roast selection with lots of other dishes available from the standard menu. Lovely freshly cooked food. Great staff and a great atmosphere overall. Will definitely be visiting again!

We returned to stay at The Victoria Inn after a hiatus of 3 years (Covid lockdown) and found that the owners, Mike and Beryl, had not only maintained their excellent standard of accommodation but improved on it. Every aspect of the room is impeccably clean; bathroom facilities are excellent with luxurious towels provided, and complimentary toiletries. Breakfast is included and we had the best 5-star full English breakfast ever! All with local produce. Room facilities now include iron/ironing board, fan. Wi-Fi is free with great speed, which is a bonus for business travelers like ourselves. Highly recommended place to stay - somewhere we'll always come back to.

Went with two friends Dinner was just awful, had the FIsh Pancake ?? i asked for salad but still had the vegtables lobbed on my plate is was all such a sloppy mess and cold, just awful Our guests had The scampi and chips which were over cooked, we had one ham egg and chips the Ham was tough (one slice) the egg hard and the eight chips over priced not good value poor quality wont be rushing back.

Another great stay at the Victoria Inn. Very comfortable and clean rooms. Excellent breakfasts with lots of choice, including vegetarian and vegan options. The evening menu is very good too. Very friendly bar with a homely atmosphere, and welcoming. Lovely rural location. We stayed three nights and were very happy.

Road trip down the vale , called in to the Vic for lunch , glad we did as we enjoyed it very much, staff were friendly and helpful, choice on menu was excellent, food first class , visited this pub many years ago , it's lost none of its characteristic and hospitality. We will return.

Our first Post Covid Lockdown meal out and what a lovely meal it was too. My wife and I had Sirloin and Rib-Eye steaks that were cooked just as we liked them. Accompanied by chips, mushrooms, grilled tomato and garden peas and topped off by a really tasty peppercorn sauce. For afters we had Sticky Toffee Pudding and Apple Crumble and Custard which polished off the night well. A busy night with a really enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere with plenty of well spaced out tables. The staff were really busy and provided an excellent service. A really lovely and memorable meal that was very much appreciated.

By far the best Sunday dinner I have had (apart from my mother’s of course).We ordered 3 beef dinners. The beef was delicious and the Dessert equally as nice. I saw other dishes going out which also looked amazing. The staff were lovely and very helpful. I would definitely return here and encourage others to do so. Thank you

Stayed at the Victoria inn for 2 nights and had dinner both nights. Lovely little b&b to stay in-food was of really good quality, not overpriced and large portions. As a vegan I was expecting to just being able to eat the chips however I was very pleasantly surprise to be offered a vegan tart with chips and a full vegan fry up the next morning. The room was lovely and big with a large comfortable bed and piping hot shower- all very clean to. Could not recommend more- lovely stay. Thank you

Ham, egg and chips was fine, ham of good quality and thickness but rather dry.Lasagne very nice, well recommended.Poor ambience, despite the friendly service simply because the restaurant is extremely dated, over patterned and really does need renovation. We were a group of 14 pensioners who booked to enjoy a Valentines Day lunch. I was there a few years ago and was dis-appointed but not today. The setting was good, the service was prompt, the food very good and the atmosphere welcoming. Will definitely come again.

Excellent speedy service, lovely ambience & a truly lovely, flavoursome vegan pie with mash, veg and gravy. Highly recommend visiting to try this dish to all fellow herbivores. A vegan dessert would have been an added bonus.

I have eaten here on other occasions, but yesterday's meal was gorgeous. Leek & Potato soup with a lovely warm roll & butter, then the roast lamb dinner, melt in the mouth lamb and thr best roasties I've eaten out in ages, to finish apple tart and custard, absolutely delicious, my cousin said the ham & parsley sauce, and cherry cheesecake was also 1st class. Well worth a visit
