First afternoon tea I haven’t been able to finish, had to give in and take some home there was so much Staff were so helpful, catering for dairy free for me, the food was fabulous- highly recommend

Called in for lunch today & had to wait a while to be shown to a table. The person serving was clearly rushed off his feet but took our order within a few minutes. The coffee was lovely & generously sized. The crepes were amazing, very well filled and served with salad & coleslaw. Both savoury choices (brie & bacon and Parma ham, olives, sun-dried tomato & pesto) were really tasty and very filling. Great experience overall despite them being short staffed. I feel that the interior could do with a freshen up as it's looking a little tired & dated, but food was absolutely perfect! Would try again to sample a sweet crepe as the choices were ample & they also had a specials board which was equally tempting!

We had the most amazing afternoon here tea today. Lovely fresh sandwiches, warm ham and cheese croissants, delicious scones, warm waffles with chocolate and a great selection of cakes. Very generous portions so came home with a goodies box too. Would definitely recommend. Staff helpful and very friendly too. Thanks for having us 😊

Food was nice, kids deal was a little pricey for what it was. The day we went, however, there was a family with 2 children riding up and down the cafe on scooters. Totally ruined the experience for us. Completely unsafe, a hazard for staff and other customers. I understand that the parents should be intervening, but surely the staff could see how crazy this situation was.

Booked catering for my baby shower and it was really hard to get in contact with them to communicate. They then sent an email cancelling due to staffing and I had to find a last minute alternative.

It's nice to go somewhere where they cater for gluten free people. Nice open space. We got there dead on 10 and were hungry! Nice experience.

Good place to bring the kids. I had a ham and cheese crepe that was very tasty. My friend's French toast looked amazing.

Came here today as a Christmas present for afternoon tea waited 10 mins and no one came over had to go up ask to order drinks, hot drinks came but was luke warm. Food came and started eating and after eating the fruit noticed the raspberries was full of mould. My daughter was then sick in the toilet which I explained to waitress and not even offered a glass of water or nothing had to ask for it, really disappointed as I was looking forward to it and staff really not even bothered by it just on there phone constantly 7-1 update Went back a week later as manager rang straight away to apologise and offered another another tea for free and full refund and what a difference our second visit was. Amazing food and even the service was outstanding lovely gentleman that serviced us. Food was delicious and all left feeling very full. Would recommend

Incredibly disappointing bacon sandwich. Single rasher of bacon on what seemed like Tesco value bread. For the bargain price of £6:50. Daylight robbery!!

Popped here to grab a coffee. Lovely big soya latte. My wife enjoyed her hot chocolate and my daughter had a salted caramel milkshake. Vegan options on the crepes plus other items as per photo. Soya and oat milks. Reasonable drinks prices.

Slightly disappointed as I order the French toast which was not as pictured, and came as normal sliced white bread instead of the large brioche bread slices in the photos. Otherwise, the staff were very pleasant and the service was timely.

Lovely afternoon tea, which only includes 1 tea or coffee, so additional teas and coffees work out expensive! Told only take cash, I only had £50 which waitress brought back saying manager said they could not accept! Couldn’t tell me the reason why! I then had to borrow money to pay for my portion! Which put dampener on things! Why they just can’t bank, I don’t know!

Popped in for breakfast but friend had already eaten so we just had coffee. Drinks arrived and both were barely warm. Raised it with gentleman that served us and were met with a stony stare. He did sort the issue & returned with hot drinks which were placed on the table without a single word being uttered. Very poor. Good service would have been politely acknowledging the shortfall in quality of our drinks & apologising.

I was treated to a cream tea, for my early retirement. There were 3 of us, who had the tea. Must say, it was absolutely delicious, loads of food/sandwiches were gorgeous, warm scones with a small pot of jam, and clotted cream , berries, a macaroon each, 2 slices of cake each, sliced, warm waffles, scrumptious, especially with the toffee sauce. My friends had a pot of tea each and I had a cold drink. I was really looking forward to this treat, and it didn't disappoint. The shop is clean, and nicely decorated, and the staff very friendly, and accommodating. Loads of food on the menu, you are really spoilt for choice. Will definitely recommend to family and friends. Great little place in Penarth specialising in crepes, French toast and ice cream. My partner opted for a tactical lemon and sugar crepe whilst I went for the Berrylicious French Toast. Both tasted fantastic and were cooked perfectly! If you are looking for a sweet or savoury treat I would recommend. We stopped in the middle of the week, during the middle of the day so it was a little quiet but the place is light and pleasant. Maybe some background music would make it feel a bit livelier when trade is a little quiet. Would recommend to anyone.

I went with my partner, his friend and his daughter. There were amazing vegan options for me, a children’s menu and loads of interesting combinations with substantial portion sizes making it excellent value for money (less than £10 for a full meal) and a most satisfying lunch! I would recommend Crepe Escape to anyone in the area!

Lovely cafe, our waitress was brilliant. Good service and the food came quickly. All 3 of us are gluten free and this was no issue at all. I had a gluten free crepe with banana, strawberry, and Nutella. The other 2 people had savoury options - chicken/mushroom/spinach and chicken/pesto. All delicious! Definitely recommend.

Took my 5 and 7 year old here. They had pancakes and waffles and I had scrambled egg on toast. The eggs were soft, well seasoned and very nice. The coffee was lovely. And from what I gather from my kids, the pancakes and waffles amazing as wasn't a bite left. Friendly service, nice atmosphere. Def recommend and will go back

My daughters treated me to afternoon tea for my birthday. The food was lovely, a large spread, and my granddaughters had the children’s afternoon tea on their own serving table. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Everything was efficient, and the food was delicious. A memory to treasure.

Ordered one of the afternoon tea/sharing delivery boxes from Crepe Escape. The product is excellent: delicious and looks beautiful. The family loved it as a treat. However, the staff also went above and beyond to ensure it was delivered on my chosen date/time; 'Peter' took time out to personally to do this. Very much appreciated and highly recommend this business as a result!

Every bite was delicious, it was beautifully presented, and the children’s cake platter for my daughter was a perfect touch. Fantastic service today Crepe Escape! The food was delicious and the staff super friendly! I had American pancakes with maple syrup and my daughter had A customised American pancakes with mixed berries which she devoured. I highly recommend soft, fluffy American pancakes!!!! I decided to plan a very last minute baby shower for my cousin, I am so thankful that Crepe Escape had space for us! They were so accommodating considering I was asking to book for 20 people at short notice. We all had an afternoon tea, it was honestly delicious! The whole of the party thoroughly enjoyed and there was so much food. Enough to take some home! The staff we amazing too, I cannot thank you enough for helping me! The venue, set up and food was amazing, I 100% recommend. I’ll be back soon to try more of the menu 😍

Going to Crepe Escape is mine and my daughter's Friday routine for 1 year after we moved to Penarth. We love delicious crepes, waffles and milkshakes. They also do catering and buffet for special days. Highly recommended!!!

Quite poor tbh ... Uninspired food is either very bland or too salty. The place is looking a bit tired and desperately needs a face lift.

I was looking for a baby friendly place (where I could breastfeed comfortably) to meet my friend for coffee, along with her 16 month old. The Crêpe Escape did not disappoint. We had a warm welcome from Lisa, and enjoyed some delicious crepes and hot beverages, they had high chairs, baby changing facilities, the whole place was bright and airy and some large sofas where we could relax (as much as the little ones would let us!!) after eating, plus it’s situated within a short 7 min walk of Belle Vue Park. Parking nearby was straightforward too (weekday morning). Highly recommend!

I popped in Sunday afternoon on the sunday just gone (22nd May 2022) around 12:30. I stood were it recommeneded to stand to wait for service and I was waiting a few minutes, which was no big deal as I was looking at the menu on the wall on my left. There was no customers there, which is normal sometimes. Two young girls walked out, with one carrying food that she placed on a table infront of me with other food and then the other stood behind the counter. I said in a friendly manner 'I thought you may be closed' she said smiled condescendingly 'I'm making food for an event' turned around and walked back into the kitchen. The girl behind the bar (with a face like thunder) then followed her, walked straight past me without saying a word! with me still standing there! (if the cafe was closed, couldnt they say that in a nice manner!?) I then walked out and went to a different cafe where my friends met me for food and drinks.

Six of us went here so much tasty food staff very friendly gave us boxes to take remainder of food home,definitely worth a visit.

I got given this recommendation while at the vaccine centre, and it was well worth the trip. The atmosphere was really welcoming, with the staff being super friendly and attentive. I had the nutella, peanut butter, and strawberry waffles while my friend had the amerocan style stack with bacon and maple syrup. Both were delicious; I was almost tempted to order more! I think this place may become my new favourite in town.

I've visited a number of times with my 8month old and friends with babies. They are so welcoming and friendly and dont seem to mind the noise or the mess that it seems impossible not to create! Not only this but the food is great! I expected the crepes to be tasty (which they are!) but their non batter based meal options are delicious too! I expect we'll be regular visitors now!

As the Crepe Escape in Mermaid Quay has closed down, we thought we'd venture out to the one in Penarth. The cafe is nice and bright and it was a lovely treat having crepes for breakfast. The customer service was also good.

Absolutely amazing ice cream! So creamy and fresh I was blown away. If I lived closer I would be visiting here a lot more lol. Staff also incredibly friendly and helpful. I absolutely recommend this place and already have boasted of it to friends.

First time visiting after seeing it on Fb. Friendly and helpful member of staff from the onset. Ordered 2 different crepes both Delicious. Service was fast and correct. Was only open for takeaways at the time of visit, but not an issue. Will definitely be a returning regular. Parking was easy enough just across the shop on that particular day, but can see that may not be the case always hence not a full 5*👍🏽

I phoned during lockdown to have an afternoon tea delivered for my dads birthday. Amazing communication, amazing food . He really enjoyed it , enough food for two days worth of lunch . Really please with this service can’t wait to try it myself.
