The best restaurants serving British food in Spelthorne South East

What an absolute gem of a place. Not your sort of refurbed faux old pub, a real old pub. And the food is amazing good, and portions are huge. And real home cooked stuff. Prices are so cheap, especially for the amount you get. I booked for a family reunion, so varied ages and tastes, and everyone loved it. And they wrapped up leftovers in foil for us to take home. I recommend taking tupperware with you. Honestly the best place I've eaten in the UK for decades....lots of parking... you can have dogs in the bar area, but not the restaurant. And all the locals were so kind, wanting to pat the dogs. Just wished I lived around the corner, i'd ne there every day.

My wife and I were out for a walk along the river when we decided to look for somewhere to eat. This pub came up in a search so we thought we’d give it a go. The pub was pretty quiet (12:45 Sunday) so we managed to get a table in the restaurant. We sat and contemplated our choice of food. We ordered at the bar to discover that my first 2 choices were unavailable. So we eventually chose the blue cheese burger and chilli con carne. When the food arrived it was hot, good portions and well presented. Unfortunately for my chilli con carne that was where the positives ended. It literally had no taste and definitely no chilli in the ingredients. The boiled rice it was paired with probably had more flavour than the meat. My wife’s burger on the other hand was tasty, nicely cooked and had a great portion of crunchy sweet potato fries. The pub itself had a nice community feel and the atmosphere was good, but unfortunately one of the barmaids left a lot to be desired, looking and acting miserable behind the bar.

If you want to escape the chaos and are in the Feltham / Heathrow area then this is a good place. I had an hour to kill and was needing a good breakfast. This place is like an oasis of calm, and the owners are welcoming and friendly. Had a great full English breakfast and urgently needed coffee. Parking also very good . Will definitely be going again.

Its lucky that you come to Kempton for more than this restaurant! Been coming to the Chase day meeting in the Panoramic Restaurant every year for about 12 or so now and they just cannot get the service right. Always leave feeling a bit grrrrr! Its annoying given its not the cheapest of ways to enjoy racing!

While waiting for our cappuccino coffees a gentleman came up and complained his coffee was cold. Unfortunately our coffees we're also cold. Won't be returning. Shame as it's a lovely little cafe.

Had a lovely meal there was told by a friend who goes regularly the food was freshly cooked and catered to my allergy needs it did not disappoint huge array of my favourite gins the staff are lovely really helpful and nothings to much trouble I have to point out how clean the place was including the restrooms as well definitely worth a visit

We had a fantastic evening at the Hare and Hounds with great service and really delicious and hot food! It’s such a great sign of a good restaurant if they care enough to make sure your food is hot! We were 2 couples and had a mix of food. The Szechuan chicken starter was massive and really tasty. The cod goujons were fresh, delicious and hot! Then we had a mix of chicken burger, beef burger and pan fried salmon. I had the salmon. Sometimes in pubs you can be a bit worried they won’t do fish well (unless it’s fried! Lol). Don’t worry here! The salmon was perfectly cooked. The spring onion mash was really tasty and the mixed veg was wonderful. Al dente park choi and tenderstem broccoli. The burgers were smashed burgers, 2 in each brioche bun. My husband had the Daddy, really good and perfectly cooked. Our friends had the jalapeño burger and fries and the chicken burger and fries. All totally delicious. The Hare and Hounds is our local pub and food there has in the past been a bit hit and miss. Or missing altogether! Tonight it was 100% wonderful. I hope the Kitchen there continues for many years. We’ll be back soon! Thank you.

Lovely little Caffe, great fresh food. Best coffee in town ,The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Enjoyable place to eat and have coffee or tea. Great desserts. Service was excellent. And close to the river for a nice pre or post meal walk. If you're in the area and need a bite to eat, this is excellent.

Good breakfast always staff friendly and quick serve dine in or take away . I now this place over 8 years and every time when i m in the food was very good .

It was amazing got here to try their roasts and it came in now time! Friendly helpful staff. Really recommend it!

Arrived at the hotel early evening after a 3.5hr journey, didn't get a warm welcome, they were more interested in getting my payment for the room. What then told the restuarant was closed. When asked about other places to eat was told they didn't come from the area and they think there is a restuarant a short walk away. Got to room which was large but very unwelcoming. The following night we ordered food at the hotel restuarant, my husband had steak which he asked for medium to well done and it came out rare, his peppercorn sauce had fat floating around the top and his plate was swimming in grease I ordered chicken curry which was awful and I couldn't eat it and when I said it was awful they didn't ask why, it was just taken away. I was asked if I wanted something else but I declined and I did not pay for the curry. When we checked out the following morning we wasn't asked if we had enjoyed our stay, they just took the key. The hotel could really be amazing. It has a great location, however it lacks any kind of atmosphere. We were the only people in the restuatsnt on a Saturday evening. I would not stay here again. They are only interested in taking your money, in hindsight i would nit have paid the amount they charge to stay there. There is no pleasantries and they do not care if you have had a nice stay or not

Great food, great atmosphere, great staff. Beef roast my best!
