While waiting for our cappuccino coffees a gentleman came up and complained his coffee was cold. Unfortunately our coffees we're also cold. Won't be returning. Shame as it's a lovely little cafe.

This is a beautiful location and the coffee is great. My only criticism is the fact that there is very little in the way of savoury snacks available. At my last visit there was only soup & sandwiches. I did notice however that they were at least six different types of cake and scones! Great for a cake lovers but how about something for those who prefer a savoury like a cheese scone, sausage roll or even a toasted sandwich?

Prior to the Covid pandemic this cafe was a lovely place to enjoy good coffee and lovely cakes in the tranquil setting of the walled garden. On a recent visit, the quality, friendliness and value was gone. A very small coffee in a disposal cup (no explanation as to why China cups were not used) was way overpriced. A slice of lemon drizzle cake was as small slice as they could get and again way overpriced for the size (they used to cut a lovely big slice of cake, but no more) If you want to enjoy a coffee and cake whilst sitting in the walled garden, I'd get a takeaway from the Little Italy cafe a couple of minutes walk away and then return to sit in the walled garden with the satisfaction that the poor customers in the Embroidery Gallery Cafe were being ripped off and you were enjoying reasonably priced good coffee and cake in the lovely walled garden.

Beautiful location to come for something light to eat and enjoy the view of the best kept gardens in Surrey. The cakes are freshly made every morning and the afternoon tea is simple but to die for. Easy parking which is free for the first hour. Highly recommend the wall gardens we which I visit three times a week. Only down side is that they are not dog friendly 🙄

I live locally and so invited a few friends to this delightful hidden gem. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful setting of the gardens, which are beautifully maintained. Had tea and cakes which were delicious and then a guided tour of the tapestry and other exhibits by a vary charming and well informed lady. Can’t praise it enough.

Been here numerous times over the last 15 years. It’s set in beautiful walled gardens with outside and inside seating. Firstly this place is run by volunteers and is attached to a gallery. They served hot food, cakes and hot and cold drinks. Overall cakes are 5/5 most are homemade but their tea cakes come from the Cavan Bakery which has a few local branches so all cakes are locally produced which is a plus. We have only tried some of the food but the soup is always great and comes with a whopping slice of bread. Really tasty. I have also tried the cheese ploughman’s which again was pretty big. I always find with a ploughman’s that there is more cheese than bread/biscuits and this is no different. But again tasty. The service is always friendly and welcoming. The only thing that is not great is the quality of the coffee. It’s quite weak and so a cappuccino tastes like frothy milk only. It may be that the clientele prefer weaker coffee but would really love a stronger cup. We have found a way around this with black americano and a jug of milk. Overall this is a volunteer run place that is really welcoming and friendly. Cakes are great and the view is lovely and atmosphere peaceful. I would love the coffee to be better especially as we usually go for breakfast but it hasn’t stopped us visiting twice a month for the last 10 years and recommending this place to friends and family.

This is a truly a super small gallery. The Embroidery itself is well worth a visit but they also have some very interesting exhibitions.. Be sure to stop long enough to have a cup of tea and taste their exceptional cakes!

Organised a group of 30 girls in 2 groups to visit the embroidery gallery as well as the café having travelled from the far north of Buckinghamshire. We were not disappointed. It was fabulous - both the embroidery as well as the café. A truly hidden gem that I’d thoroughly recommend to everyone. Oh and the cake was... superb!! Thank you to the 2 volunteers who gave us the short talks about the history of the embroidery too.

Nice little café within the pretty walled garden. Limited menu and also limited seating but very pleasant. Has home made soup, jacket potatoes, sandwiches and homemade cakes. My vegan friend could find very little suitable for her however (I was fine as a vegetarian). Adjoining is the gallery with the Millennium tapestry, a must see beautiful work with lots of interesting information supplied, and also offered. There is usually a display of an artist's work alongside this, usually craft, I have seen either glass, embroidery or sculpture on different visits.

We came here after the concert at Riverside Arts Centre after the classical concert(see my review). The food was amazing for such a small cafe & all made to order eg sandwiches, bake pots & croissants with fillings.Good menu including gluten free. It was busy as such a lovely day on Saturday just gone. We sat outside & a few of us from the concert joined us.We had sandwich with ham & water cress on brown bread, mayo, little salad, apple juice, soup with mix bread & butter. All very yummy indeed. I found it not expensive at all. We didn't have time to see the The Sunbury Embroidery Gallery itself, but see it a few times, lovely if you like needlework like myself. We didn't have time to walk around the garden either, but took some pics & plenty of birds that came to get your crumbs not shy at all, lovely to hear the birds singing too. There were some flowers in bloom lavender where I was sitting & some of the roses. Parking available, pay & display, but park after the machine as that's for all of us, not when you go in as for people who live there. Would recommend.

The Embroidery Cafe is in the Walled Garden in Lower Sunbury. It is a lovely spot for lunch or just tea/coffee. Light lunches such as egg mayonnaise sandwiches and jacket potatoes are freshly made, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. We have been regular visitors over the summer and on sunny days the cafe gets busy. Thoroughly recommended.

My wife and I use this cafe quite regularly. We like the friendly atmosphere/staff and the tables have fresh flowers. In the fine weather you can sit outside and enjoy the walled garden. The food is very good, we have had lunch here several times. There are daily newspapers and clean toilets in the cafe. It's closed on a Monday and over Christmas there was quite a long shut down.

What more can you ask for? A light and modern cafe set in the beautiful walled garden. This is another local gem that I visit time and time again. Whenever I have a hour, I sneak off here and enjoy a nice cup of tea, a slice of delicious cake (all of them are great!) and sit outside (weather permitting) enjoying the view. One of my favourite places to be on a warm day. The prices are good and offer value for money. No worse than the Starbucks and Costas but the cake is definitely much much better here!

Really just because this is by the Thames and near the millennial embroidery there is no reason for this to be an over-priced coffee shop. Expensive for what it is with staff that need to be trained in customer care. A poor outside location and I would avoid if I could.

The Embroidery Cafe is a little hidden gem. The cakes are home made and exceedingly good! The staff are super friendly and efficient. But the best aspect of this tucked away cafe is: It is set in a beautiful walled garden, away from the roar of the road!! I don't want to say too much, in case it become less of a hidden gem!

The food is really good, big portions, so unless you could eat a horse, be careful when you order a starter. The night we dined we were the only group and it was very quiet. However, I have been there when it has been packed and the atmosphere is good then.

The friendly, helpful staff were the only positive at lunch today. The seats were stained and there was a pervading smell of old cooking fat in the restaurant, if there were other dining choices nearby we would have left. My friend and I both had the ribs and salad which was perfectly ok. This place definitely needs a good clean!
