We ordered a pizza and chicken burger with our drinks. The pizza was served in a pizza box! I asked for a plate, and we were given two paper plates. Luckily two, as I had to share the pizza; which was nice flavour. My chicken burger eventually was served, in a takeaway box. It was an untoasted white bun, with a small piece of chicken on a few bits of shredded lettuce, soaked in mayonnaise. I returned it for a refund! The girl text her manager, as she said she couldn't authorize that. By the time we were leaving, no refund. So the girl phoned her manager, but it went to voicemail. She and the other barmaid again told me that they couldn't authorize refund, so I spent a while demanding it, firm but not rude. Eventually the £8 was slapped on to the counter, and we left.

I have known this pub since the 80s, we held my parents 50th wedding anniversary party here. I received a friendly welcome from the girls on the bar. Had a couple more pints of London Pride, on pretty good form as us Camra members say. The roast lamb meal was generous with a good helping of gravy. I thought the carrots were tinned but I could be wrong. The chef asked if I enjoyed the meal and I certainly did. I get the impression the guys here are trying to build the business up and I think they will be successful.

Driven past the pub many times before and as we drove past today kids said they was hungry, so pulled over jumped out ran in asked if they was serving food to be told “yep” and then handed a menu. On quick glance spotted plenty of options for the kids and partner, called the rest of the family in ordered are drinks at the bar passed the menu to my partner who couldn’t decide out of 3 options. Narrowed it down to the sausage and mash! I ordered the steak and kids had sausage meal and cheese burgers! Ordered food came out in reasonable time and tasted amazing! Spoke to the chef after and said to come back for the carvery! Definitely be returning soon! Staff so friendly and good atmosphere in side!

Held dad’s memorial here following his internment of ashes. We were blessed, Don, Kirsty and their team were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble they laid out the food, made tea’s and coffee for whoever wanted, sorted out the slide show of pictures and the playing of a video that had been put on a memory stick. All this is private area with it’s own patio garden. I can’t recommend them highly enough, please check it out if you are looking for a venue. Lovely place to even go for a drink and catch up as they also have a lovely garden at the back.

I can't thank Donald and the team at the Hare & Hounds for making my daughters Baptism do so special. They were so helpful, professional and made the perfect. I used the the same private function room in February for my baby shower. The room is a great size with private outdoor tables at the front of the pub. Donald provided background music and had so much choice. I would 100% use The Hare & Hounds again for a function and would always recommend to and friends or family, we had an amazing day. I was returning on a tour of reminiscence to my Dad's old watering holes. So many local pubs in the area have gone the way of blocks of flats or Tesco Metro. The Hare and Hounds has escaped this thank goodness. it serves a damn fine pint of Fullers London Pride. The staff are friendly and welcoming. If you like your sport on TV then this is the place for you. it also seems to organise community events and has a large garden and smoking area. I enjoyed my short stay and was not offended by the beer prices. Recommended.

After visiting family we stopped for lunch at the Hare and Hounds and found a delightful traditional pub serving Sunday roast . The food was exceptionally good and plentiful with a huge Yorkshire pudding a selection of beef or turkey and freshly cooked vegetables all washed down with a great pint of pride . It was very busy with a great atmosphere for the football and was very busy for food which didn’t surprise me as the quality was excellent . Staff were busy but attentive and we will certainly visit again when we are down this way

Booked for carvery but not there. The only choice was beef or gammon. The yorkshire puddings were burnt, the veg overcooked and nothing was very warm never mind hot.No coffee or tea available as the "machine" was broken (they havent got a kettle seemingly). Only one member of staff serving food and looking after 3 bars so service poor.

Just stopped for a pint on the way to view a property. Mid afternoon hardly anyone in.Waited politely to be served only for someone else to get up, wander over and order before me.Then for 2 other lads to come in and be seen one after the other while I was stood there. 10 minutes later I was reluctantly approached and grimly mumbled at "wo'll it be?" Afraid to say we will give this pub a wide berth from now on.I'd organised an 'after funeral meal' and on that occasion, the food was OK but the chap serving us seemed put out that he was there and over worked (he said he'd been called in especially to help out but seemed to be the only person dealing with us, another chap was on the bar and 2 ladies used in, plonked our food down and that was the last e saw of them) and after spending quite a lot of money, there were no goodbyes, thank you very much etc etc which I thought a tadge rude. Still, we were very hungry, so Hubby & I decided to pop in for dinner as it's just up the road from where our Son lives - and who we were visiting - and he had already eaten. '1 lasagne & one sirloin from the specials board please' and down we sat.Whilst we waited for our meals we sat sipping our drinks for a while. After 20 mins or so the mains arrived. My lasagna was burnt all around the edges, black and crumbly inside and very unappealing. As dry as a bone. 1 small taste and there was no way I was eating it. It came with 1 mega slice of garlic bread and chopped up gem lettuce which was not the mixed leaves advertised. When asked 'is everything alright'. I said no, it;s burnt to death and give him his due, he took it away and I asked for the house burger to replace it. Unfortunately, in the meantime, Hubby discovered that his steak, although cooked medium as ordered, was on the cold side as were the chips. Luke warm in fact. Rather than complain about it, he decided to eat it as he was starving. When he was over half way through, my burger arrived and everything was piping hot. I gave him half my chips to eat with the remainder of his meal.I can only assume that whilst trying to heat up the lasagna, not only did it get burnt, but the steak and chips were cooked ahead of that and got left on the side. The other odd thing was that on asking for mayo, the chap turned up with a small jar of Helmans with no spoon! I nabbed a knife from another table and used that, conscious of the fact it had been opened already and used. Not good at all so alas, never again. We paid the £46 bill and left fed up and feeling very disappointed.

A colleague and I were stopping at the Travelodge nearby for a couple of nights and did a search on Google for nearby pubs and two came up in walking distance, so for night two we tried this. The pub was quiet when we arrived although there were a couple of "characters" sat in the corner. We ordered drinks and food from the bar and took a table near the door. The service was good, as were the burgers we ordered, but there was a lack of atmosphere or interest. This could just as well have been a Wetherspoons or Harvester. It's okay but nothing special or interesting, I wish we'd gone back to the Grey Horse again.

Small local pub and we figured a group of 9 might be an issue so we called ahead. Still waited a good half an hour plus for our food and it was not what we expected. Good presentation but the quality was far below that which the looks would suggest. Cold food on almost all the meals and clear evidence that most of the options had sat under the heat lights for a while longer than they should have. Onion rings were greasy, chips were well done and yet cold, and the fresh salad in the burger burns belied the cold patty, barely present cheese and cold bacon. Despite 75% of the meals being hardly touched we didn't get offered a full refund for all meals. When the refund did arrive it didn't match that amount that been paid so more complaining was sadly required. Caught them.on a bad night?Quite possibly but not a great endorsement. Beer was also beyond its best as it had zero head retention, no body and was pretty lifeless. The other line was cleaning so couldn't sample that

Visited here on a saturday evening recently with my daughter since we were staying locally and it looked one of the better places to eat in the area. However when we arrived at 7 o'clock and sat down to order our meals we were told that they'd had a rush on chicken during the day so there was NO meals including chicken available at all!!! I have reviewed several restaurants in the past and one of my biggest bug bears is when restaurants run out of anything that is on the menu, in my eyes it is just not acceptable. Not only that but when I came to choose my second choice, king prawn linguine, I was told they also didn't have that!!!!So after finally deciding to have the lamb and vegetable pie and my daughter had kids fish and chips, the food was actually very good quality and decent value for money although there was a bit of a wait for it to arrive. However once we had finished that is where thee service really went downhill. We waited around 10 minutes for plates to be cleared, not too bad, but when the girl came to clear them she asked my daughter if she had ordered off dessert menu yet to which she replied no. I then assumed she would come back with dessert menus for both of us but no. I then saw no-one for about 15 minutes before I did finally catch the guy who initially served us (who was helpful) and asked if she could have the dessert she wanted as part of kids meal deal. This then came several minutes later, but then I had to wait another 10 minutes before bill came (which I'd asked for when the dessert came since I was fed up of waiting around by that point). In summary, the food is actually pretty good and decent value for money but the service was so so slow and the fact that they had run out of a good chunk of their menu by 7PM was not great. Not a great experience!!!

Dropped in here for an evening meal as we were stopping at the premier inn close by, it was only a 5-10 min walk and looked better than the Thyme restaurant in the Premier inn. First impressions of the place was ok, had to wait a while to get drinks but the Barman was on his own and doing his best. We ordered some starters and mains and carried on having a drink while we waited, after a while the Landlady came over and let us know the food was on its way, it did not take long after, unfortunately there was a mix up on the order and everything came out together and also missing a main meal, the landlady was fantastic and got the extra meal out as soon as she could, she had been let down by 3 members off staff so we was impressed how they managed at all!! The food though was gorgeous and tasty, and good sized portions too! After we finished we settled up our tab and the Landlady had knocked off the cost of the main meal and a child's meal which we thought was a very nice gesture. I hope she gets the staff sorted out and we wouldn't think twice to go back again if we were in the area

Staying at the nearby travel lodge hotel which had little choice on eating in the evening, this hostelry was the closest for food. Although it was a Monday night the pub was very quiet. Although you can eat at various seating around the establishment we were shown to the restaurant area which was at the rear of the building, being just the 2 of us it felt we were ushered out of the way. There is not a vast offer on the menu and to be honest it read better than it actually tasted. I had the stake and ale pie for which I expected a home made pie in a bowl possibly topped with puff pastry, what I got was butchers purchased pie with a hard crunchy pastry and the vegetables seemed to be defrosted from frozen so were watery and mushy. The burger my wife had was delivered as they wanted to serve it, no asking if she liked it rare medium or well, it came well done so was a little tough. It was great but it wasn't terrible it was just " not good" If I have the choice again I perhaps wouldn't seek this place out again.

To be honest I did not know this Pub existed even though I live a few miles away. We were looking for somewhere local for a Family Birthday meal and read a very positive review in a Shepperton Newsletter so thought we would give them a try. From the moment we contacted them they could not be more helpful. When I telephoned them about the booking they offered to decorate the table for a Birthday and made sure everything was arranged. On the day it was fantastic Liam looked after us and made sure we had everything we needed and was very friendly. He even spent time showing one of the Children how to draw, which he loved. The table was decorated as promised. The food was the best we have eaten out for a long while and there was plenty of it. Great friendly Chief. I had arranged a Birthday cake which they brought out brilliantly.Overall, A very friendly (and child friendly) place with great food and value for money will be going back very soon.If you are local or just passing through you must stop here.Thank you Liam and Team for a great Birthday Meal

We were staying in the nearby Travelodge for the Rugby World Cup and looking for somewhere to drink when we stumbled upon the Hare & Hounds. The Australian Manager / Owner was extremely friendly and helpful and we very much enjoyed our afternoon there sampling their well stocked bar, listening to the jukebox as well as spending some time in the beer garden.Would definitely recommend.

Office xmas lunch booked for 25 and deposit paid and all pre ordered. Tables booked for 1pm arrived around 12.30 to be told we must sit where they had placed our names as they could not cope with what everyone had ordered otherwise. Starters did not start arriving until after 1.30pm and these were either over cooked or not hot whatsoever. Main meal well what can we say the turkey was too dry and the beef look like a dogs dinner. Desserts -- some OK and others burnt. Our Party was the only ones in their for their 2/3 course meal. The waiting staff did their best but the female staff member very rude!! The boys tried to accommodate and offered free drinks which some of the party accepted, for me I got my money back as I only had the starter as main meal was unacceptable and they had run out of Turkey and the alternative off the main menu was not available either. For a restuaran/bar coping with a large party they could not handle. Never again

the pub is very noisy and seems to not care about the people living near it. It has late night music every week, which always sound horrific. The staff are very rude when approached about the noise and the people who go to the pub week in week out are very rude too.Would not recommend it to anyone.

I am back again at my favourite pub in Sunbury. I was told about the place on my first visit to Sunbury by the site labourer, he told me it was a good boozer that did nice food, and boy was he right. The real ales are v.nice and a good selection, , the food is also very good. The people behind the bar are friendly as are the customers. Altogether it is a very enjoyable place to visit.

I visited this pub with a friend on Sunday, for the first time despite living and working in the local area for the last 8 years, it's a hidden gem, friendly staff, good selection of beers and Fullers beers(they served Honey Dew and London Pride). They serve food, however I didn't eat any, but the menu looked good. They have several TVs showing sky sports. They have a large beer garden, with a good sized covered and heated area and a reasonable sized car park, there is plenty of local parking available as well. I will be visiting here again and would recommend it to friends

I would like to thank the management and staff of the Hare and Hounds for making a special day a great occasion. My daughter had booked this venue as she lives locally. The occasion was the christening of my granddaughter. This meant that all age groups were in attendance. Ranging from 0-90. As you would expect quite a range to please and satisfy. I am happy to declare that Bruce and Ingrid managed to achieve this great feat. The room was beautifully laid out. Wine on arrival. White wine chilled and Red wine ambient. We ordered food from the menu. I was very pleasantly surprised by the standard of the food fayre. It was of restaurant standard. The staff were attentive and worked very hard to meet our needs. And nothing seemed too much trouble.Only one downside, the car park. There were over 30 of us. All traveling by car. This is no-ones fault but created a few issues.I would recommend this Pub/ Restaurant to anyone looking for a family meal or occasion. It really does work.

I booked the Hare & Hounds for our company Christmas lunch, which was for around 30 people. The pub has been refurbished and the decor is very warm and welcoming. The Manager, Bruce, was very helpful and accomodating and met all our needs. We were seated in a room to the side, all the tables were laid out beautifully and the food was plentiful and well cooked. The service was also very good and the waitresses/waiter very friendly. We had ordered from the Festive set menu which was a good and varied selection, and very reasonably priced for a 3 course meal. I believe all my colleagues had an enjoyable time and we will no doubt be back next year!

We arranged to meet my brother and partner, child and another couple and baby, who live locally and all of our kids total 6 adults and 4 kids. The pub seems to be targeting our business as there is a kids menu with colouring pencils and high chairs. Oddly there was a full drum kit setup in the dining room when we arrived but I was not put off by this. The manager setup a table for 4 people next to ours with the full set of cutlery as well as Xmas crackers. We ordered starters which took an uncomfortable amount of time which were all nice and the kids meals came out at this point so all was good so far apart from the slow service. We all finished our starters and our plates remained on our tables for at least another 30 minutes. By now my 2x kids aged 3 and 5 had sat very patiently but they did get down and picked up the Xmas crackers off of the table as well as possibly move some of the cutlery which I replaced back afterwards. A lovely family of 4 adults turned up and very kindly gave my kids the crackers and seemed to enjoy them pulling them and playing with the hats. Finally our starter plates were removed and half of our party opted for the carvery. All going well so far - I thought the food was nice and our whole table were enjoying the occasion - a pre Xmas Sunday lunch. I was driving so no beer for me. Our table was sited in the middle of the room with very little room to get around it and my 2 children did get down and ran around the table to start hitting the drum kit. I immediately got up and went to stop them, but the furniture placement caused me a delay to reach them before they had hit the drum kit 5 or 6 times, at which point the manager asked to take me outside for a word. This was rather embarrassing and I said that I would rather not but that I apologised for my kids hitting the drums and that we were just leaving anyway. He insisted in quite a threatening manner that I accompanied him outside and then had a go at me for letting my kids touch the festive table and then the drum kit. This made everyone in the room feel very ill at ease, including the only other party in the room on the festive table. It ruined our whole day - I explained that I won't be returning to the pub in any case to which he answered 'good I am glad'. I paid the bill of £108.75 and left very angry at such treatment. We had booked the table for 6 adults with 3 kids and a baby. If you don't want kids to play the drums in your pub - can I suggest you don't put a full kit in it when there is a booking involving kids. If you want to just take our money and treat us like an inconvenience, can I suggest you serve and clear the tables quicker so that we can get on with it and leave. I do accept that my kids should not be touching either the other table or the drums, but they are just little people who don't know why it would bother a manager of a pub so much that he would cause such a scene and alienate his customers in such a manner. We had been there for around 2 hours and enjoyed most of it until the end has left me feeling very disappointed over what could have been avoided with a bit of common sense. There are plenty of other pubs in the area so we won't be going back there.

A reservation was made for 12 people for Noon as we were going on to Kempton Racecourse, we picked this pub / restaurant as it had quite positive feedback, but alas this feedback did not turn into a positive outcome. We arrived 10 minutes early and one of our party (four of whom were pensioners 80+) asked to use the toilet but was lately told that the establishment was not open for another 10 minutes...........When the pub eventually opened, we attempted to order a round of drinks which seemed to take an age and we were sat down at 12.25, when it came to ordering, the starter order was taken but no main dishes, so I asked for a pad and pen and collected the order to be told there was no steak nor ribs both of which are on the main everyday menu. When the starters arrived, the duck pate resembled cat sick, there was NO finesse to the presentation, scrapped into ramekins and whilst I appreciate this is no a michelin starred establishment a small amount of garnish or care was taken in the presentation. We then waited until 1.40 before the main course arrived and this was not before the staff were reminded of our order. Two lamb pies, the pies looked fine but the vile coloured broccoli, dried out carrots and lumpy mash put onto a plate was not pleasant, burgers not completed, with items missing or changed from every burger. Needless to say, we did not stick around for desserts, if the pub is trying to replicate a Wetherspoons, it does so badly. We paid £15 a head for this experience not a lot I know but in reality a decent Wimpy or KFC would have definitely won the day. We only go Kempton racing once a year, there will be no detour to this pub again, infact avoid at all costs if you want a hearty 'homemade' meal of any description.

My husband , son and brother visited here yesterday after a recommendation from my daughter and her partner. We were not disappointed! The food was lovely and fresh with a wide selection of Vegetables; cauliflower cheese, peas, sprouts, cabbage, carrots and parsnips. It was 1pm and only one other couple there so very early on in the service. My only criticism is that the portion of meat given was very small. Three slices which would be fine but only one was a proper slice, the other two were merely half slices! They obviously train the servers to do this as all of us got the same! However for the price the meal was good value.

Absolutely amazing. Good menu, good service and friendly staff. The only problem is the foul mouthed locals. OK in some circumstances, but when children are in the bar?The food is great! I have been staying in the Travelhutch down the road and this English pub is all that kept me sane! It is by far the best food in the area, believe me I have used them all.Good luck for your business and I hope that the refurbishment of the bar goes well next year.I have a new job now, so I won't be back, otherwise I would be there every night that I stay over.

Our first visit here, and a great welcome. The pub has recently been refurbished and they have done a great job, I was particularly impressed by the toilets which were decorated well and wonderfully clean. A good choice on the menu. I had the chicken from the specials menu which was amazingly good, great taste and not the usual dull fare of so many other pubs. Everyone in our party really enjoyed their food. I can't praise the chef highly enough, and the landlord Bruce can feel justly proud. A friendly place with great food and choice of beers, and fantastic entertainment.

We went to The H&H along with other family members last Sunday 13 July. Our first meal there for months. We immediately noticed a vast improvement, undoubtedly due to change of management. There were 14 of us and most had starters all freshly prepared. The kids menu was good and portions generous. The carvery was good, 3 meats available, beef, gammon and chicken. We booked for 2.30pm and although it opens from 12 to 5 the later you arrive there is less choice.A good choice of ales available. Fullest London Pride, Chiswick and a seasonal choice.

I have been to this pub twice in the last couple of months with friends and each time there were big improvements. It is clean and tidy, friendly bar staff and a good range of drinks. Unfortunately no food offer at the moment, Sunday Carvery only, but when I asked the bar staff why, they said that a new menu would be coming soon. A excellent range of drinks.I went back a couple of weeks later on a Sunday and tried the Carvery: it was delicious :-).The football was on the box and there was a mix of people. To my surprise there was a table with pots of crayons and colouring sheets which some children had occupied themselves with. This I thought was a nice touch. I will visit again.

Its a wet and windy night. You enter this pub, find the loud car with the football on and despite your better judgement, you hang around to see if there is someone in to cook some food for you. The result;- flat pint of Fuller London pride (and from a Fuller's pub)- a microwave beef chilly- a microwave apple and blackberry crumble with ice cream that burns the inside of your mouth from overheated fruitSo, my advice to this pub. Either do food properly on the weekend only or not at all.I appreciate your pub going onto TripAdvisor so that I can provide some honest feedback.
