The best restaurants serving British food in Spelthorne South East

My friends and I came to The Bells for dinner and what a treat! The bar staff were friendly and welcoming and the pub itself was wonderfully spacious, with lots of different areas including garden seating. The food was delicious, hats off to the chef. The range of food was great, including sharers and “Bar Snack” options (the best chicken strips and prawns!) to suit everyone. The Baileys Brownie sundae was also devine! Thanks for a fab experience and look forward to coming again. Would thoroughly recommend.

Me and my girlfriend Had a very bad experience yesterday at The Retreat. Ordered two burgers which were 2 for 1. Both came out basically cremated and like cardboard. The chips were undercooked. The Calamari we had as a starter was flavourless and so cheap. Then to top it off we were charged full price for both burgers instead of 2 for 1 and didn’t realise until we got home. Awful. Wont be returning.

A very nice traditional pub in Ĺalehàm. It serves a variety of decent food at reasonable prices. The staff were friendly and efficient. A nice ambience

The team were absolutely brilliant at organising food etc at very late notice for my aunts after funeral get together… I would highly recommend them for their hospitality, kindness and efficiency… thank you all…😊

Went there for Sunday lunch randomly, warm welcome, lovely people .. Ordered a roast and was surprised how tasty and value for money it was. Recommend

Just enjoyed a fine time here. Staff are very welcoming and make you feel at home. Brakspears bitter was top drawer, fresh on last night. I had the prawn starter followed by the Lamb. All very good. I sat in the outside area and could hear a Robin singing blissfully. A very relaxing visit.

Lovely pub, great food & selection of drinks. Pub garden is good.

Came in for a Sunday Roast and we were quickly disappointed. Seated and ordered quickly however food was stone cold when it arrived and so we sent it back. It returned with all the same food, veggies colder than before and roast beef still cold. We were offered drinks on the house which was kind and a couple of desserts too. Sadly it was nothing special and lukewarm again but a nice gesture nonetheless. Not sure if it was an off day but the kitchen did not deliver the quality we would usually expect.

Met my cousins for cream tea. Cream tea was so lovely one of us (not me) had 2 cream teas 😋 We all had a very nice time, staff were amazing and very friendly. The dog seating area is a bonus, will come back with my pup, brilliant idea. Thank you so much.

Well priced, good portions and were very accommodating with special requests regarding an allergy. We will be back for more!

Right so me and my sister went for drinks on Christmas Eve and there were this group of boys making inappropriate/ derogatory comments about my sister so I told them to keep there mouth shut and they did but they kept on bringing it up so I got up and left and my sister followed me out and we started having heated conversation and then one of the Owners come out and said to me specifically that’s I was barred for DEFENDING my sister when he told me that I just thought to myself this man thinks I’m bothered when there is multiple different pub in the area

Avoid this place. Used to go often, but noted recently the area is very dirty, today filthy with uncollected trays piled high with food plates, drinks, food on tables,food and spilled drinks all over chairs, floor, settees, tables. There was nowhere fit to sit or that could be cleaned by a customer. Asking one of the staff to help at least wipe a table ended up with rudeness, then unpleasantness, then the two guys getting nasty and shouting, totally out of order. We were told they were busy , we'd have to stand there and wait. We suggested they stop making drinks until they made some tables available.Then when they started arguing we put the tray on the counter and asked for a refund. We did not get one. And one of us had been asked to asked to pay a surcharge for soya milk. I had needed to ask the guy on the till to remove an additional £ 2.50 off the bill as I noticed it on the handset before he put in the cost of the drinks! He made some excuse of crashing the computer. I was quite surprised the customer before us was asked to scan her app twice. I note in the last review similar comments. Harris and Hoole is not cheap and wants to be that bit more classy. But if staff drag the coffee shops down in this way then the chain will go under. Staff too full of themselves to clear tables end up with a dirty cafe with health risks. Very poor and disappointing. Tesco need to remove them from the store.
