Avoid this place. Used to go often, but noted recently the area is very dirty, today filthy with uncollected trays piled high with food plates, drinks, food on tables, food and spilled drinks all over chairs, floor, settees, tables. There was nowhere fit to sit or that could be cleaned by a customer. Asking one of the staff to help at least wipe a table ended up with rudeness, then unpleasantness, then the two guys getting nasty and shouting, totally out of order. We were told they were busy , we'd have to stand there and wait. We suggested they stop making drinks until they made some tables available. Then when they started arguing we put the tray on the counter and asked for a refund. We did not get one. And one of us had been asked to asked to pay a surcharge for soya milk. I had needed to ask the guy on the till to remove an additional £ 2.50 off the bill as I noticed it on the handset before he put in the cost of the drinks! He made some excuse of crashing the computer. I was quite surprised the customer before us was asked to scan her app twice. I note in the last review similar comments. Harris and Hoole is not cheap and wants to be that bit more classy. But if staff drag the coffee shops down in this way then the chain will go under. Staff too full of themselves to clear tables end up with a dirty cafe with health risks. Very poor and disappointing. Tesco need to remove them from the store.

I ordered 2 coffees and a pastry, tried to scan my app, asked the guy serving me if my app had gone through- he tuts and replies ‘it’s too late’! I tapped my payment card, put it back in my wallet. Then the server says ‘you need to pay’! I said ‘I have paid’. He said it hadn’t gone through so I tapped again. To cut a ridiculous story short, I was charged twice- when asking for a refund I was told I had to ask in an email with a copy of my bank statement. I emailed with the details and am waiting for a refund. My email has not been acknowledged. Terrible customer service, I have been a loyal customer for years! I will not go there again. When I queried why my email hadn’t been acknowledged I was told ‘we’ve been busy’!!!

We stopped here as Tesco's was chocker blocker. The food was ok nothing special, not enough staff to keep up with the turnover of people, tables were grubby plates on some tables. Its on my not again list.

Just before we got to cafe they told us that no electric in the kitchen so they could not cook anything I was looking to see what I could have to eat so I said can I have a sandwich (not toasted) he said no so I said but you do not need electric to make a sandwich he replied well if you want one go to the kitchen and make it yourself. I said it's your job not mine I was speachless. He was so rude. I had ordered 2 cups of tea already and my mum was with me she needed it. So we sat there to drink it. I saw a manager speaking to the staff when he finished I spoke to him. I think he had a word with the young man but no apology. I just got filthy look from him as we left. This cafe is dirty I saw a staff member give a dirty glass a quick rinse and give it to a customer for her water. The tables are always dirty and they forget your orders to busy chatting. I will not be back.

We used to go to this place some years ago frequently- it's sad to see how it went downhill!!! Low service levels. The gent taking the order wasn't aware of the free drink incl in the kids menu which was advertised on the menu and wanted to charge for it - only after insisting we got the free drink. Tables were not cleaned and dirty (02:00 pm) even whilst the place wasn't busy. Asked for some glases for the tab water which is provided at a central place (nobody was bothered Placing new ones) thus my spouse asked for some Glases - and she got dirty / used once!!!!!! Not badly cleaned but really used cups. Food quality was also low. The menu choices they had a few years ago does not exist anymore. Very limited options. We won't visit this place again. To be avoided!

I'm told that after 5 years daily visitation, that "My staff, girls are uncomfortable around me". I'm astounded. Almost 60 years old. I'm treated this way. Virtually criminalised without trial. Truly unbelievable. HH Weybridge simply say goodbye after 5 years of my solid business. For God's sake..... what's going on in my country???!!! I'm gobsmacked and so are my associates. Well handled "HARRIS HOOL COOFFEE CHAIN."

Had a coffee many times and service so poor but on my last visit the reached a new low. I went to counter ordered a coffee late to go and paid and went to wait for my drink. All the staff decided to have a meeting about their night before and totally forgot about the customers waiting for drinks. After a few minutes I asked is there any chance I could have my drink and the look a got was unbelievable. The eyes rolled in the head and my me feel really uncomfortable. When I got the drink it was wrong and they had my me , I told them it was wrong drink and they all smiled at each other as to say (I don’t care any way). We never go in again and can now understand why it is always empty. I must apologise for being a paying customer but I have a choice where I spend my money and have taken the option to spend it else where

Really..... how hard is it to get a breakfast right? Leathery bacon, sausages like rubber, eggs that were overcooked, beans that were cold, tomatoes that weren't cooked, toast that was anaemic.... where to stop? Not cheap either - nearly £8 a pop which is pretty shameful. If you can find somewhere else, go there. Oh, and a rather rude young man on the till too with some very sarcastic answers to a reasonable question. Charming.

I agree with what a previous reviewer said, this was good when it started but it is noticeably worse now. I have been a regular visitor and the quality of both the coffee and the food has deteriorated over the last 6 months. Lukewarm or hot coffee, hot or cold food (that should be hot) - it seems to be pot luck what you'll get each time. Also some of the staff seem poorly trained and really not bothered one way or another. Always polite, but basically they shrug their shoulders if you raise a concern. When I asked for my coffee a bit hotter (something H&H used to promote as an option) I was told that wasn't possible but I could have hot milk instead of cold! A response that does not suggest someone who has had 40 hours of training as a barista, which is what the H&H website claims.

I have just had the unfortunate experience of breakfast in Harris and Hoole Sunbury-on-Thames. At just under £8 it was absolutely disgusting - a small spoonful of cold beans, 2 cold hard eggs, tasteless dried out sausages, bacon as chewy as a trainer sole, toast that looked like it had just gone past the toaster and some shrivelled brown things that I think could have been mushrooms. All in all a terrible experience. When I mentioned this to a member of staff they were totally uninterested. On a more positive note the single sachet of HP sauce was very tasty. I now understand why they don’t mention their food (?) on their website. There is nothing good to be said about it. Even the environment was not a pleasant experience with tables not wiped I had to walk round to find one that wasn’t too dirty. Would not recommend - buy yourself a sandwich in Tesco instead.

Considering it's In a Tesco supermarket it's a pretty good place for breakfast. I usually go once a month and have had both the Harris and Hoole breakfast. The wife has the salmon and eggs and it's usually quite good. Service isn't as I always have to clean my own table beforehand and put the old plates away. Some comfortable seats some less so but all in all good for a breakfast.

After doing some shopping at Tescos I decided to have a cup of coffee. The member of staff that served me looked bored and rather scruffy looking, as did all the other staff members that I saw. I sat down with my cup of coffee and noticed that a lot of the tables had not even been cleared, After about ten minutes a member of staff eventually cleared the tables but did not even bother to wipe them down. The table next to me still had crumbs on the top. Even though the coffee was alright I wouldn't fancy eating anything here.

After shopping in Tesco late lunchtime we decided to try this onsite eaterie out. Had read various articles on the chain, which I believe is actually owned by Tesco now so was curious. First impression on entering was good. Cosyish, laid back sort of place and menu choices were good. However, once seated I thought the table was a tadge grubby, the cutlery stained with dishwasher products and the tea-pots, though trendy, needed a good scrub. Staff also seemed a little scruffy for my liking and 1 member of staff on her lunch break, proceeded to sit at a table next to us, crossed legged on top of the chair. Very odd. Maybe she is a yoga devotee!Decided on 2 salads and 2 teas. Salads arrived and have to say that my smoked salmon one was lovely. Hubby thought the cheese in his was on the mean side.Plenty of tea leaves for me to have another earl grey out of it though so was pleased with that. Other diner's meals looked good, especially the burgers. Not sure I'd make a point of going back again personally. One of those 'try it and see' type of places.

I am usually a fan of Harris and Hoole. So much so I drove out of my way to get a coffee at this branch before our road trip. What a massive mistake. I understand they take longer than normal to make the perfect coffee. However 30 mins for two cuppacinos with a massive que is shocking. Then they still managed to get the order wrong! Cashier service slow and generally I left wishing I had not gone via this Harris and Hoole. I won't in the future.

This was my first visit to a Harris & Hoole cafe, but when I arrived at the Tesco Extra to do my shopping, I saw the large & inviting signage outside & I decided to stop for a coffee. It was around 9am & the cafe was already busy. It's a not really fair to call it a cafe, as I feel this is more upmarket, & more of a restaurant of sorts.Upon entering the establishment, I found a spotless reception area, with a general menu on a blackboard.I was warmly welcomed by the first member of staff, who's smile & can-do attitude was so very refreshing. She took my order (I decided to order a full English breakfast & an Americano with milk), took my payment, all the time engaging in polite conversation. I was then asked to go to the end of the counter where I met an equally enthusiastic barrista who made my coffee to perfection. I was then asked to take a seat & my breakfast would be with me shortly.I'd been sitting less than five minutes, when my piping hot breakfast arrived, freshly cooked. The young lady that brought my meal to me was equally pleasant & served my meal with a smile.I found the food & beverage to be of excellent quality, fresh & good value. The portion size was great & set me up for the rest of the day.Ambience-wise, the venue is great. It feels fresh, welcoming & inviting. There is a water station to help yourself to, and complimentary high speed wifi is available (you'll need to do an online sign-up, but that's really easy). There's an outside seating area too, so when the weather is glorious, there's a chance to sit & take in the sun.Looking at the menu overall, the establishment offered a wide range of coffees, teas & cold beverages, at reasonable prices.H&H has its own phone app, which you can download for free. This allows you to pay with your phone, using a top-up facility, store finder & free incentive program. You can buy food & beverages via the app, & I'm sure more things will follow.H&H Sunbury is a brilliant place to visit, either pre- or post shop, or even just to visit, drink &/or dine.Service is refreshingly enthusiastic, upbeat & genuine.I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to visit & enjoy the beverages & food, as well as sample some great service too.

This review is sad to say . I always say support local independent businesses but in this case I would of rather of gone to the Premier inn or travel lodge . So where do I start . Room 19 booked for 4 nights due to working local . Perfect location in a prime spot . Shower took for ever and a day to heat up. Bed and pillows harder than a brick . Bedding so thin for december. Heating didn't work . Windows really thin so Room was so cold . Walls and floor so thin you could hear everything and everyone . Friday night they had a party till 00.30 The music was so loud and speakers were outside. Fantastic if you haven't got a 5am alarm like I did . I did call reception and they was not much help or very apologetic. I followed this up with an email also have not received a reply. Unfortunately this place is over priced and needs much TLC . Would not recommend or stay here again . Nice touch they come in every day to make the bed and change bath towels . Please improve your Rooms.
