Right so me and my sister went for drinks on Christmas Eve and there were this group of boys making inappropriate/ derogatory comments about my sister so I told them to keep there mouth shut and they did but they kept on bringing it up so I got up and left and my sister followed me out and we started having heated conversation and then one of the Owners come out and said to me specifically that’s I was barred for DEFENDING my sister when he told me that I just thought to myself this man thinks I’m bothered when there is multiple different pub in the area

We booked a table for lunch for my dads birthday (four adults two children). My dad was a bit disappointed that the table had been reserved for the main bar area and not the nicer area out the back but we sat down & ordered drinks anyway. My mum's cappuccino arrived cold so she just changed it for a coke. We also ordered a pint of blackcurrant squash to share between the two young kids, however we received a pint of cordial (no water added). Based on the two basic drink errors we lost confidence in their ability & decided to go for lunch at the pub down the road. Shame really, food might have been nice. Good selection of draft beer though.

I recently visited this pub and was shocked to learn that children under 2 years old are not allowed after 6 pm on Sundays because the kitchen closes. When I asked for an explanation, the staff couldn’t provide a reason other than it being a rule set by their boss. This policy makes no sense to me. Furthermore, the staff’s behavior was unprofessional and rude. Instead of asking if I enjoyed my meal, they asked if I was finished so they could take my place. This is completely unacceptable. It’s disappointing to see such disrespect and poor customer service. The boss’s rules and the staff’s attitude reflect a lack of respect for customers. I won’t be returning.

Had a lovely rump steak which was excellent value. Paid £2 for peppercorn sauce which was appalling and commented to lad who was working there who said he would pass comment on to chef. He never returned so asked if he told chef and said he didn't really have a comment!??shame.

Popped in for a drink! Wow what a great experience. Landlady Tracy was so welcoming. She made me some dinner samples, lasagne and cottage pie fresh cooked they were amazing. Had a few drinks in a great atmosphere and was presented with a meal to take away when we left! Overall great atmosphere and good people we will be revisiting soon. P.s. Their dog “Guinness “ liked me haha! Overall lovely people a place to visit indeed!

Went for a few drinks and to watch the football and we went outside for a few minutes and they then proceeded to say we can’t come back in because we aren’t drinking. Bearing in mind we ordered around £50 worth of drinks. Shocking service. Bad atmosphere. We were the only ones in there. Went to a pub down the road and they said how they apparently hate all their customers.

Called in for some lunch on Sunday. Choose the Sunday roast although extensive menu was available. The dinner served was huge, proper home roasted potatoes along with a lovely selection of fresh vegetables. Plenty of meat and Yorkshire puddings and the gravy was to die for. Highly recommend a visit, as a warm welcome is given to everybody who walks through the door

Haven't visited this pub in at least 20 yrs before this week and won't be going back again. Terrible pint of beer and not the best of atmosphere with everyone stopping to look at us as we walked in.

This slightly renegade little vessel sails blithely on, veering wildly off course with its cargo of nautical china ornaments and foreign banknotes, and devoted local crew, not to mention ship's dog Guinness. The decks could do with a good caulking and the ship's cook only serves meals after 6.30 pm--but only if you've booked, and there are no menus to be seen. Prices for food start from £10. At the time of the illustrious Admiral Hawke, who retired to Sunbury-on-Thames in the early 19th century, and after whom the pub is named, it was common practice to press-gang new recruits into the Navy. This pub could take a leaf out of the old Admiral's book, by taking a more proactive approach to attracting new drinkers and diners. Some larger-than-life rollicking sailors, preferably in uniform, would set off the high-ceilinged yet deceptively small space to perfection..

I selected bangers and mash with a pint of organic brewed lager. The sausages were hard and over cooked. The mash was also over cooked. To add insult to injury, the lager was flat, and this must be a pub issue as Sams in Tadcaster is lively. Will not be going again.

I walked in here at around 1:45 on a Saturday and it was empty. Apparently there had been somnething on there the opreiosu night, and the lcoals were probably 'recovering'! One guy did come in shortly before I left though. I asked if they were serving food and was initially told no by the bar lady, but was called back as I walked away, as the landlord(?) said he'd cook. The menu wasn't extensive and I ordered the steak pie which didn't take too long to arrive. I'm guessing there's a more extensive evening menu. The chips were good, and the pie (which had flakey pastry) was absolutely packed with large chunks of meat. Tasty and piping hot. Sadly though, without anyone else there, I got no feeling of the real atmosphere of this place, which I'm sure is a lot better when busier.

A brilliant local pub, with welcoming staff and a wide range of drinks at reasonable price. The local feel within this pub is definitely present which is brilliant. We went during the Christmas period where the log fire was on adding that extra bit of atmposhere. A large car park is available for those whom are not drinking. A large function room is also available at the side of the pub as a well as a pub garden. Welcoming for families also.

Our motorcycle club christmas meal was held at the Admiral Hawke Pub. The food was excellent with generous portions. They had put up the Christmas decorations just for us as it was a bit early. The ambiance of the pub and warm welcome from the Landlady added to the event.

Visited The Hawke today after a two year absence. The decor has certainly improved and the welcome was warm. It was not very busy, perhaps, due to the hot sunshine which may have encouraged locals to sample the riverside taverns. We were served by Chloe who was helpful and friendly. We ordered lamb roast which was perfect, washed down with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Enjoyed the visit and will return.

Well we came into the pub for a drink and a chat. We were greeted by grimaces from the locals who are obviously not used to people coming in who are not regulars. The music (circa 1960's) blared from the radio and so we respectfully asked the landlord to turn it down. I was told people were listening to it. I asked whether it was the football but he answered not the adverts! How rude! The beer was poor and mismanaged. Then at 10pm last orders was rung! And then the radio turned up. This is obviously a failing pub, with such a welcome I can see why!

Haven't been to this pub in many many years having heard it had gone somewhat downhill but on learning it was under new management decided to give it a go last Sunday. It was advertised that Sunday lunch was 12 til 4pm and we got there slightly after that but they were happy to still serve and very glad they did because it was one of the best Sunday lunches we've had in a long time.I had roast lamb and other half roast beef and we were delighted that both were served rare just as we like it because we thought that maybe eating at end of service it might be on the well done side. The meal was accompanied with 2 yorkshires, roast pots, green beans, carrots and broc + an abundance of gravy. Wasn't wild about the potatoes but the rest was fab. Will happily return to try the midweek menu or enjoy Sunday lunch again.

This pub used to be the best dining experience in Sunbury but a few change of owners made it urch to being worst. However now back under new management again, it has picked up again, now serves fairly average food, in untidy settingA bit of TLC would help, but at the moment is about on a par with the Flowerpot and behind the Magpie

Arrived at the hotel early evening after a 3.5hr journey, didn't get a warm welcome, they were more interested in getting my payment for the room. What then told the restuarant was closed. When asked about other places to eat was told they didn't come from the area and they think there is a restuarant a short walk away. Got to room which was large but very unwelcoming. The following night we ordered food at the hotel restuarant, my husband had steak which he asked for medium to well done and it came out rare, his peppercorn sauce had fat floating around the top and his plate was swimming in grease I ordered chicken curry which was awful and I couldn't eat it and when I said it was awful they didn't ask why, it was just taken away. I was asked if I wanted something else but I declined and I did not pay for the curry. When we checked out the following morning we wasn't asked if we had enjoyed our stay, they just took the key. The hotel could really be amazing. It has a great location, however it lacks any kind of atmosphere. We were the only people in the restuatsnt on a Saturday evening. I would not stay here again. They are only interested in taking your money, in hindsight i would nit have paid the amount they charge to stay there. There is no pleasantries and they do not care if you have had a nice stay or not
