朝食、夕食で利用し、朝食は焼きたてのフランスパンとクロワッサンが白眉でした。 イギリス料理ですが、フランス料理の技法が入っているため、くどい味付けやスカスカの味付けとは無縁でした。

What a fantastic place to stay while visiting Thorpe Park! Round the corner from the park, free car park, we was upgraded to the “Robert de Vere” suit on the top floor overlooking the river Thames, It was beautiful to wake up too! The breakfast was beautiful, plenty of choice, definitely would book again Definitely recommended to use this while going to Thorpe Park, eating a full English at the side of the Thames river is beautiful and peaceful, definitely a selling point to this hotel,

After we were told that the chicken livers were unavailable, my fiance ordered the crab, which made her sick. We then had to cancel not only our hotel room at the Bridge Hotel (affiliated) but our holiday in the Seychelles and had to pay for a taxi to take us home. Never again.

We were staying at the hotel, we had eaten elsewhere but found that while this may be slightly more expensive it was quality food, nicely cooked and good service, i spoke to the chef about the gluten free options and he was very helpful, its a shame more people dont use the restaurant, the breakfast is also nice

A Saturday night and we were the only people there. Our steaks were very well cooked and presented with the best chips that we've ever had. Using a two for one Taste Card meant it was exceptionally good value.

a table with a river view is easy to find at this hotel. we where right next to the window and enjoyed a lovely view over the Thames and enjoyed a lovely sunset over the river. The menu is not pretentious just simple with enough choice for everyone and all sensibly priced. The food was very nice not the best quality but enjoyable and edible. Had a lovely family night.

Two large glasses of wine are as expensive as a bottle so ensure you get a bottle if you are going to have more than one large glass by yourself or between you.

The service is very bad. You have too order inside,at the bar. You have take your drink from the bar. The food is simple and no so good. The ice cream is the only thing to remember.... And expensive. Really nice views on the terrace.

The best of this place is location and views of the River. We did enjoy the food but you should work on service. It can be a nice restaurant as it does have a potential because of the place.

I first went here to a wedding a few years ago and the food was delicious. Have since been back several times and made use of the tastecard discount. The food is nice but the service could be better and experience is spoilt by staff not understanding how the tastecard works. On two seperate occasions have been told off for either not informing the staff that we planned to use the tastecard or by sitting in the wrong area (!), this is despite booking in advance and mentioning the tastecard at that point. This place has lots of potential, the riverside location is great and they have free parking. Whenever I go there though the place is dead.

Went to the Riverside Restaurant for dinner with my other half as a treat and had the option to use our tastecard. We sat in the restaurant which over looks the thames, and with today's beautiful weather was fantastic. Regretably I wouldnt be as positive about the food presentation, however behind the look sthe food was nice and warm. The waitress was very attentive and always happy to help. Overall, we had two courses and a drink each and ended with a bill of £31 which was very well received. Overall a good meal for its cost.

We recently visited the Thames Lodge Riverside restaurant for lunch and it was very good. Our waiter, Mo, was friendly and attentive and the food was superb. Our Mum and Dad were married 60 years ago and held their reception at the hotel so we took Mum back as a treat. I booked the day before but was called half an hour before our reservation to be told that there was a function and we couldn’t sit in the restaurant. We had a table on the terrace which is decorated with beautiful flowers and it overlooks the river. This wasn’t really a problem although it was a little chilly without a sweater. The menu is not huge but there are plenty of interesting dishes to choose from. Unfortunately they don’t have a copy of the menu on their website. I had hake in crab and lobster sauce, served with saffron potatoes and spinach which was very good. Mum had fish and chips and my sister had a beetroot and onion tart with a portion of fries. The fat chips served with the battered fish were lovely and there were plenty of them. Mum had Crème Brulee for dessert which was lovely. I would recommend this restaurant, especially if you have a Tastecard which gets you discount off the food. Location is lovely, food delicious and service very good.

Went here on a Thursday night using our Tastecard. If we hadn't therefore received a 50% discount we would have asked for a discount on what we received. Asked for no potatoes with my salmon: received potatoes and no extra veg as requested. Salmon was bland and not worth the 15 quid price tag. My husband had steak which was overcooked (not the medium he requested) and was tough as old boots. His mushroom was burnt and his veg was soggy. We told this to the waiter - nothing was offered. Shan't return. Would have retrieved better food at Harvester.

Start off with the good points: location, location, …. As its name implies it is right on the river, with excellent views from the dining room which has attractive dark wood furniture. The staff are friendly, but our French waiter could have done with a bit more training. Hint to the waiter, if there are a few of you, then you make sure that the food all arrives at the same time.We ate from the à la carte menu. The rib eye steak was described as one of the restaurant's “signature dishes”, with the meat left to hang to gain flavour. This was a mangy overcooked piece of meat, not medium rare. The rump of lamb was not very exciting, and likewise the chocolate truffle dessert was just passable –Carluccios do far better.

1st December - early family Christmas gathering and our visit didn’t disappoint. The Retreat delivered a superb Roast - tender meat, crispy roast spuds with a delicious range of veg! Even the Christmas crackers were funny! Staff looked after us with food delivered promptly but without being rushed. Also nice atmosphere so we will be back!

This review is sad to say . I always say support local independent businesses but in this case I would of rather of gone to the Premier inn or travel lodge . So where do I start . Room 19 booked for 4 nights due to working local . Perfect location in a prime spot . Shower took for ever and a day to heat up. Bed and pillows harder than a brick . Bedding so thin for december. Heating didn't work . Windows really thin so Room was so cold . Walls and floor so thin you could hear everything and everyone . Friday night they had a party till 00.30 The music was so loud and speakers were outside. Fantastic if you haven't got a 5am alarm like I did . I did call reception and they was not much help or very apologetic. I followed this up with an email also have not received a reply. Unfortunately this place is over priced and needs much TLC . Would not recommend or stay here again . Nice touch they come in every day to make the bed and change bath towels . Please improve your Rooms.
