The best restaurants serving British food in Rother South East

Delivery of my order has taken an hour and a half.!!! Twenty minutes after they said it should. It's not even that far away. Totally unacceptable and was tempted to send it straight back and request refund just for taking so bloody long to get here.

We ate here recently and it is very good, we often eat at the sister restaurant which is also exceptional. However, the most recent lunch was a very tough piece of cow which we had to chew and chew for ages until the final swallow. When we questioned the waitress she explained “we are using a sustainable part of the cow that no one eats” Which in my simple mind was ridiculous, I let the waitress know that our repeat business wasn’t sustainable if we have to eat that. A chuckle amongst us all. I hope they soon realise this and revert to using parts of the cow that are tasty and not chewy.

We just discovered this restaurant in the grounds of the golf course .We went there for dinner ,although it was very quiet , we enjoyed the food and the staff were friendly . We plan to come back for lunch and see what the view is like .

Now called Chapter Two, not Two Trees. We enjoyed a lovely no thrills breakfast here which is exactly what we needed. The owners had signage up stating that they were away and the lady who appeared in charge in their absence was doing a great job. Made us very welcome and provided great service with a smile.

This is a fantastic place, friendly staff and fantastic food, caters for vegetarian, vegan and meat eaters! Soya, almond and proper cow juice! Stella the owner has tried to cater for all. Stella also puts on events one I went too was viewing the Sun by Astronomy Adventures, kind people explaining what we saw (Mind Blowing)

Good burger, pleasant staff, but what is it with the "discretionary" service charge added to your bill? We ordered a burger, they brought a burger, nothing more or less.

Gemma really looked after us, reserving a table on a busy night, and serving us drinks within the happy hour. They don’t do food but allowed us to bring a takeaway pizza in. Great atmosphere and great pub 😍

Mandys cheese and bacon turnover is the best I've ever had, excellent ingredients and the thickness of the bacon prefect, my sister had steak and kidney pie and said it was delicious. They did a drink and hot food offer. They made our dogs very welcome with a sausage. We had a massive cake to take home to share. Will go again soon and highly recommend it.

What a lovely find after a long journey. More than happy to accommodate my dog. Highly recommend the food, it was very well presented , lovely quality and best of all it was hot. The crumble and custard was extra special. Friendly staff who made our visit even better. We will be back in a few weeks as promised.

Great pub.met my son and grandson for a drink .Felt safe and the staff were brilliant.Does a fantastic Sunday roast.(advisable to book).If you want a pub where you feel safe, with good atmosphere and speedy service then this is the pub.Must highly recommend.

Arrived for our holiday in Camber sands and quick google for dog friendly pubs and this lovely pub came up (not a lot of other sit in options open this time of year). We have 2 children of primary school age along with an excitable sprocker pup and the team on duty -Peter, Madeline and Laura could not have done more for us considering we just turned up with no booking. We were seated away from the main restaurant which suited us. Before we’d even ordered our own drinks they’d arrived with a fresh water bowl for the dog and the team continually checked on us to make sure we were all ok. The food and range of drink were lovely, pricey but you get what you pay for.

Great food and brilliant service can't comment on the atmosphere as it was early on a Monday 😉👍

Food was delivered 10 minutes early which is as good as it gets really. I ordered a Pork burrito and onion rings. The burrito had no flavour at all with a tortilla wrap that was burnt. The onion rings were warm but soggy. I will definitely not be going back. Dreadful.

The most magical place, full of character and authenticity, unlike anywhere else really, full of so many treasures and the loveliest cosy tearoom with excellent cakes.

Well worth a visit quirky quaint quality and quick, staff attentive facilities good garden centre not bad either
