As a member of the golf club, I have never visited on a Sunday to have the Sunday roast. After my wife suggested we tried the roast, we were not disappointed. The food was beautifully cooked, the meat cooked exactly as I would have at home and the excellent service was delivered with a smile. The amount on the plate, including the really cheesy coliflower cheese, was as much as we all could eat, and with the members discount it exceeded value for money. I am sure we will be eating at the club again.

After discovering the excellent "Bistro on the Green" we have visited 3 times in the last 2 months and every visit has been delightful. A perfect spot for a meal with the family and the food is terrific. Attentive staff who spotted we had 2 birthdays in our group and brought a surprise birthday treat desert. A great find!

Just had lunch again at this great venue - the monk fish special was beautifully presented and worthy of any top flight restaurant. Absolutely delicious!! I would also like to mention that we had a celebration Valentines evening here back in February which was held in the upstairs restaurant complete with musical entertainment. Events in this particular section of the restaurant are carefully chosen but I would really recommend the experience. The entire management team and staff are clearly doing everything they can to make a success of this venture. Good luck and well done.

My wife and I had lunch here a couple of days ago and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately it was very quiet but the staff and food quickly created a welcome ambience. We have booked for the special Valentine's night which is being held in the upstairs restaurant which has a very sophisticated atmosphere. Can't wait!!

We recently visited on a Saturday afternoon to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant was fairly quiet, so we didn’t have to worry about the kids disturbing anyone. Food was lovey - everyone had empty plates at the end of the meal. The staff were all very helpful and polite. We shall definitely be back again

We visited the now re-named Bistro on the Green for an evening meal this week, and found the food, service & ambiance top rate. The menu for the evening we were there, (a Wednesday in November) had six or so dishes each in the Starters/ Mains/ Desserts sections, which I always think is a good sign, (do less well) and so it proved to be. All three courses were very much good Restaurant quality (we both choose separate dishes, so sampled six between us) and were absolutely great. Restaurant itself is light and airy, seating about 30 I'd estimate, and the service was polite without being obsequious. The Staff mentioned that the restaurant used to be more steak-based, but certainly the evening menu we had since their changes was top notch. We won the meal in a local Charity Auction, but will definitely visit again as proper paying punters! 3 Courses for food would have been about £55-60 we think. We liked it a lot, if you haven't gathered!

I stayed at the golf club hotel while attending the three and half days golf course. Being a foreign visitor, I depended a lot on the breakfast served at the club to begin my day. The food was fantastic and the coffee was great! The 3 lady waitresses ( cant remember their names now ) were very hospitable.

We stayed here on a B&B basis (present from my daughter along with the Sedlescombe Organic Vineyard tour) and I called before our stay to book a table for dinner - glad I did as we may not have got a table for dinner! Having eaten in some of the top London restaurants our meal was fantastic and excellent value for money. The staff were also excellent and courteous. There is a good variety on the menu and also a 'Specials Board'. Both our evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Would highly recommend.

I took a group of ladies there for a 'muck about' on the driving range followed by a meal. The staff were really welcoming and helpful. The menu was so good it was hard to choose so the young lady waiting on us suggested half portions of two items for one of us and extra veg to add to a starter to make it a main meal for another. Wine bottles were opened for us to try before we bought. Nothing was too much trouble. The food itself was excellent. 10 out of 10.

Had a lovely evening meal in this restaurant while staying at the on-site hotel which is just a short walk across the car park. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was very good. Simple menu but enough to choose from. Set price for one, two or three courses. We paid £20 for two courses. Wine not over priced either. Had a equally lovely breakfast the following morning with a choice of cereals, yoghurts and juice, followed by a cooked food ranging from bacon baps to full English breakfasts. Very tasty.

We booked as we were staying at the hotel on the site without looking at menu's or reading reviews. The set menu looked really well priced, if not a little basic, The specials and additional menu had great choices of well priced food. The food itself was first class both in presentation, taste and portion size. There was a very good wine list and the service as very good.Although the restaurant was not full there was a lovely atmosphere/feel to the place.

This restaurant is p[art of the golf clubhouse but is open to non residents at the hotel / golf complex. It is located just off the A21 main road to Hastings and has extensive adjacent parking. The food is freshly prepared on site, service is friendly and quick and the dining area well furnished and interesting. There is a bar menu as well as a more formal evening one. Point to note is that there are on the evening menu three choices for each course only, including one vegetarian. No particular cuisine, but choices not unusual types and everyone is likely to find something enjoyable.

We have just spent two nights at Sedlescombe golf hotel and had two great dinners at Green's together with breakfasts and lunches. Prior to arrival the manager had emailed us the evening menu and asked if we wanted any freshly caught fish collected from Hastings for our evening meal. The chef Doris even came out to ask us how we would like our fish cooked once it arrived. The food was beautifully prepared and very tasty. The lunches and breakfasts were of the same high quality, freshly cooked and served with a smile. The restaurant is fairly small but nicely decorated in old sports themed memorabilia. As with the rest of the complex the staff are excellent, friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

We went for lunch at the golf club over the weekend. I have previously been a member of the golf club for a few years and often went to the restaurant and rated it fairly well. I'm not sure if the kitchen staff have changed as I hadn't been here for food for a while, but I had quite a poor experience this time. We ordered three different main meals on the menu. The staff said that there was no mash potato left on one of the dishes so I opted for fries instead (what kitchen runs out of mash, especially on a bank holiday weekend when this was on the bank holiday menu?!). Once ordered, the waiter later on informed us that for the club sandwich there was no chicken and asked if we wanted to order something else or a replacement meat (again, what type of kitchen runs out of chicken especially if it's on a special menu for the weekend - very amateur!!). Lastly, after waiting a long time when we eventually got the dishes, the vegetables were cold and the cabbage that was meant to go with the belly pork wasn't even present on the dish. Very very poor. Secondly, we could hear swearing coming from the service hole in the wall which was very bad considering there was a table of children next to us. Really, in a decent restaurant these meals would have been comped but thy only gave us the drinks off of the menu. The whole set up was completely amateur and we were all disappointed. It seems the kitchen/restaurant has gone downhill in the last few months since the last time we came. The head chef needs a talking to.

A limited menu but no worse for that! The chicken we ate was succulent and tasty and the vegetables freshly cooked and not overdone. The wine was very nice and not overpriced. The service was excellent and the dining room atmosphere relaxed and friendly. The full English breakfast was well cooked and there was plenty of coffee. A greater variety of breakfast starters would have been nice but there was plenty of choice with hot food.

Dinner Saturday evening was OK.For convenience after spending the morning at the Golf School (which is brilliant) we thought it would be a good idea to have Sunday Lunch in the Greens Restaurant.I ordered Roast Beef my Wife ordered the Garden Salad, we had to wait 45 minutes for our food to arrive, my Wife's Salad consisted of a few limp Lettuce Leaves an Egg and a few Greens, nothing like the Salad listed on their Specials Board. My Roast Beef was terrible, the Roast Potatoes and Vegetables were at best the left overs from the night before.I do not like leaving negative reports and Tripadvisor is meaningless if people big things up when the food is not up to scratch. There are plenty of better places to eat in Sedlescombe.

We went to this place for Sunday lunch, only to be told that the widely advertised "Carvery at your Table" had to be ordered by Thursday. My fault for not reading the small print I suppose, and I believe it is shortly to become a "standard" feature.Having both chosen the Mackerel Pate and Melba toast, only to be told it was not available, we opted to share the smoked seafood platter - very good. My plaice and my wife's lamb were also good. Wine by the bottle seemed expensive, and desserts at around £ 6.50 are higher than average in this area (the name "golf club" should not confer some sort of opulent exclusivity, although many clubs seem to think it does). The restaurant surroundings, unfortunately, are very plain and lack the views many golf clubs can offer to countenance sometimes average food. Undoubtedly sitting outside on a summer's day will enhance the overall experience - perhaps we will try it again!

We booked here as a convenient meeting place with friends and parents coming up from Bexhill. I phoned prior to make sure they were open as we had no power at home due to the high winds on the night of the 23/24th December. The food and service was excellent and I was even more impressed when I realized that chef had cooked a turkey for a local who had no power.Although this restaurant is not local for us and during good weather will take between three quarters and an hour to get there, we are already making plans to go there again later in the year and even introduce some of our local friends to this new found gem of a place.I am extremely fussy having recently been in the pub/restaurant business and can honestly say this is a gem of a find, a must visit.

On 23rd August 2013 we held a charity Golf and family fundraising day at the club and it was a massive success due to the exceptional organisation of the Green Restaurant Manager Sam and her team bar staff. The pro shop was stocked with high quality items and the staff very attentive. The golfers all 62 of them enjoyed their 18 holes and a refreshing drink in the colonial style bar, where they could relax in leather sofas and watch sports on a 42" flat screen. The barbeque they provided for our guests was EXCEPTIONAL! not just your average chicken and burger but a gourmet plate of food (gluten free provided on request!) enjoyed on the sun terrace in beautiful surroundings albeit the car park too, but that was to our advantage on the day, as is was plentiful. The day ran into the evening and the staff remained up beat and actively public with the guests outside. A music licence allowed us to have two live bands and plenty of space to dance - with a plan B option if it rained. All in all we raised a fabulous £8,500 with over two hundred people attending the day. so, thank you Sedlescombe Golf Club and Greens Restaurant for an amazing day.!!!Highly recommended for anyone's special event / casual lunch and of course the golf! Beware hole 15!

My family and I have just returned from a very disappointing evening at this so called "restaurant". From the start the evening began badly-our first drinks order was changed, no Rosé and no Dry Martini available - if this had been a Monday night I may have forgiven them, maybe waiting on a delivery? But to not have full stock on a busy Saturday service spoke volumes to me of what laid ahead. A family member spoke of her disappointment which was ignored rather than tried to make good - from this point on our waitress seemed to be very miserable or didn't care about our needs. We changed drinks and the evening progressed, the menu was limited but had enough to just cover everyone's palettes. Starters were fine, basic but good. The wait between courses was bog standard, then sadly a mix up with the steaks, one received blue when they ordered medium rare so we had to swap, a forgivable error but it doesn't take a scientist to remember which plate of food you are carrying in which hand. The next point for me which grated was having to use the same wine glasses for white and then red. I would imagine that even a part-time waiter/ress would realise this is simple service but it wasn't even offered. Our evening continued and the food was good - as you can tell that is not where my complaint lies. From here on in the waitress who seemed to be dealing with our table was more and more disinterested, sighing at laughter from us and another noisier table close by. Clearly she (Bianca) had had enough and wanted to go home. A slightly friendlier waitress cleared our plates and offered puddings - no menus to read from but a selection of 4 from memory. We ordered these and duly waited. In between this the waitress dressed other tables in a very unnecessary noisy fashion, still seeming very unhappy. Sadly the other table consumed a lot of alcohol (6 men on a golfing weekend I presume) and were getting louder and louder. The best part of the evening was having our desserts ordered by the pastry chef-clearly the waitresses were far too busy (lazy) to deliver them. He showed more respect for us in those briefs minutes than she had done all evening. He glared at her when he saw there wasn't any dessert cutlery ready. We had our coffees and were surprised by the choice but by now a very unpleasant smell had wafted round the "restaurant", whether this was from a drain or glass washer I am unsure but it was repulsive-bad eggs/food and toilet cleaner comes to mind-not what you want when trying to enjoy the last part of our evening. We thanked the chef as he left and passed on our brief thoughts about the so called waitress, he seemed to know far more about customer service than she. The evening went on and we paid the bill, sadly it was ruined by the group of rowdy, rude men who didn't know when to stop with the alcohol consumption-the staff did nothing. I tried to ask them quietly to stop the bad language but sadly that only made it worse.I recommend this restaurant receives some form of crisis management to retrain the staff to an acceptable standard. I would be willing to take on such task having been a restaurant manager myself in several eateries, mainly a boutique hotel in Dorset. For now family ties have changed my career path but experiencing such poor quality service fumes me, and I want to ensure other members of the general public do not suffer the same.It had such potential being linked to a reputable club, and two if the family members had been before with friends-they had a delightful evening and very pleasant waiter. However the only way I would return is if I got to serve myself or had the chef serve as well as cook. Get rid of the waitresses bringing the place down and one day it might be worth a visit.

We had dinner in here on Friday night and had a really lovely meal! So nice we had three courses, all of which were superb! Very good chef indeed. However I can't agree with the comments from another reviewer. We had excellent service, all the waitresses were very attentive, informative about the dishes on the menu and nothing was too much trouble. The desserts were listed on the blackboard on the wall for everyone to see. The roasted figs were delightful. As we were staying for 2 nights we sampled breakfasts too. Again both mornings, food and service were to a very high standard. We would have eaten there Saturday night but we had a prior engagement to attend ( taxi booked for us by the waitress) we will definitely return for another stay. Oh yes the noisy golfers mentioned, weren't all bad as I saw them all contribute to the Lady Captain Charity Day raffle earlier in the evening...........

One of us had the special which was bacon and onion suet pudding……You get a generous bowl of veg each and one of us had new potatoes and one had chips. Dessert was clotted cream rice pudding……Heaven!
