The Old Bathing Station in Rother

This is a fantastic place, friendly staff and fantastic food, caters for vegetarian, vegan and meat eaters! Soya, almond and proper cow juice! Stella the owner has tried to cater for all. Stella also puts on events one I went too was viewing the Sun by Astronomy Adventures, kind people explaining what we saw (Mind Blowing)

The Old Bathing Station is a great place to sit and admire the sea views, always lots going on there! Bexhill 100 Classic cars, late night astronomy viewing FB @astronomyadventuresuk. Stella the owner is a character of Bexhill loved by all :-) Prices produced on Bing are not correct and much more reasonable! Out of season only open for special Events and Weekends. Next Stargazing is 21st October (weather permitting) and its free!

So sad to have to leave this review as we have had nice service by the staff in the past, but never have I ever been treated so badly as a customer as I was this Sunday. Stella, the manager was beyond rude to us, it was a little shocking. I can only assume that the heat had gotten to her. About an hour later she had the audacity to shout at my 8 year old (who was with his brother) for walking between the chairs and her serving hatch rather than going around them. He is 8!!! I'm beyond upset that we had to endure such an embarrassing encounter. Needless to say, we shall be finding a new family Sunday stop off spot now.

Stepping back into time, this quaint cafe offers al fresco tables over-looking the harbour, hilarious staff and a relaxed ambiance. Didn’t matter that the tea was rather tepid, or that the odd member of staff was a bit ditsy, it was delightful sitting in the sun watching the world go by and imagining we were several decades younger!

This lovely quaint hut on the front is a must if you are in Bexhill. Lovely coffee and cakes or ice cream if you prefer. Always popular with the locals, a little meeting hub right next to the beach.

Called in for a snack lunch and an excellent one it was. My wife is Gluten Free but her diet was catered for. There was a good choice of snacks on the menu and the service, by the friendly staff, was timely and efficient. The seating is all outside (which makes it dog friendly), with some giving good views of the beach.

I am so impressed by this place...huge effort for vegans...so rare to see. Have a look at the photos for the range of food. It's good to sit on the promenade too, in full view of the sea....guess it wont be there when things get more wintery.

Walking along the promenade we came across The Old Bathing Station at just the right time for a cup of coffee. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and tried to do everything they could to satisfy your needs. My wife is Gluten Free but Gluten Free snacks were available, as well as different milks for the coffees, which were tasty and freshly made. The outside seating was socially distanced and you could sit either on the promenade or, where we did, with a good view of the beach

Despite pouring rain and strong winds The Old Bathing Station was open and made us a great cup of tea. Friendly helpful staff and a great selection of homemade cakes (as well as other tasty treats).

British seaside cheer, food and drink at its best. An array of hot/cold, sweet/savoury, traditional/modern foods and drinks served with attention to detail, a smile and a sea view. I cannot recommend this place more highly, agree with other review, there just aren’t enough stars to give this place!

Having had a long walk along the promenade we were very happy to find The Old Bathing Station. Social distancing was in evidence and sanitising spray and gel were available for customers. We sat on the deck with a lovely cup of tea, enjoying the fabulous view. Could have stayed for hours!

It all started with no social distancing measures in place which I found very negative from the start. Then to find overpriced items in which I was disappointed and yet added to my negativity. This ruined my last day of my holiday & I Will not return to this negative place.

A little gem on Bexhill seafront. We regularly visit with the dog. Friendly owner and staff. Look out for the astronomical society evenings, lots of fun.

This is a great place to rest after walking the promenade. The hours are very good even in winter when they open if the weather is suitable. Look for their tide table and events booklet...very useful!!

We visited Bexhill as were staying at the Combe Haven Holiday Park. After a nice stroll we decided to stop here for a bite to eat. Very nice and friendly and clean. We had a cup of tea and a hot dog. We thought the hot dog was over priced @ £3.50 ( bearing in mind this was a frankfurter sausage not a proper sausage). The sausage was warm not hot and the onions were dry.

I love it here, simple layout with tables on the prom and decking. Good proper coffee, Ho made cake and bread pudding. Friendly service.

I find this place a bit odd, it’s mainly focused on the tourist trade and shuts early when there are no day trippers. It is mildly irritating if you’re a local, whom likes to stop for a drink or an ice cream when dog walking as the closing times vary day to day.....

Lovely hut that does lovely bacon rolls. Nice hot choc. And a good whippy ice cream. Nice walk along the prom then reward yourself. Hot day today didn’t go out until this evening for a walk by the sea. Then I e cream. Delicious.

Very nice spot for hot and cold drinks and snacks and Ice creams. Superior in many ways to most beach side cafes.sarnies look apetising and sensibly pricedStaff very nice and efficient and decent amount of seating but its all outside so not a great prospect on a wet day.Appreciate the place is very little bigger than a beach hut it was dissapointing that the very nice Gluten free cake options were stacked with regular flour containing cakes. Thats ok if one is GF by choice which is quite trendy but very dangerous if one is coeliac . Surely if they have Gf cake it could be kept in a separate tin. To be fair they do have other Gf wrapped options but not as appetising as the cake we wete told was GF.

Was in Bexhill On Sea and came across this place right on the sea front. We opted for a hot chocolate topped with cream and marshmallows. Absolutely scrumptious. There is plenty of seating right on the promenade, a great place to sit and enjoy your drink or snack, whilst enjoying the sun. If i find myself in that neck of the woods again, I will certainly call in.

Just stopped for coffee but saw cake so treated ourselves it was amazing the coffee was lovely. Now the service well the lady that served was lovely nothing was too much trouble very rare nowadays so well done

Awful experiences the last two times. One of which was borderline dangerous, where the ice cream had a horrid chemical taste, I had to take them away from all the children who had them and complain (in a queue of a couple of others waiting to complain) to which a very defensive denial was the response. Hopefully a retrospective lesson in customer service was learnt on self reflection by management...perhaps not

This is " our " cafe !! This is how my sister and i refer to this little cafe. My sis loves the hot chocolate and it's a filter coffee for me. The bacon Sandwiches smell great and the cakes look good too. There are benches looking out to sea and well as tables and chairs . The cafe also loan out seat pads to stop and chills.

We poppped down to bexhill on sea for a leisurely walk along the sea front,and we came across this little hut that does hot and cold drinks and snacks .we purchased a couple of hot chocolates and a couple of bafs of marshmellows,amd was pleasantly surprised at how much cheaper they were compared to other shops and cafes around . The staff were extremely friendly and polite .would highly recommend using this little gem again.
