We were a group of 17, including some people with special dietary requirements and mobility issues. I phoned ahead of our visit to book a table, check their menu was suitable for our people with dietary requirements and to inform them that some of our group had mobility issues, they were extremely helpful and informative. When we arrived the staff were efficient and very helpful and the food was delicious. I can not thank the staff at Marino's enough, especially the man with dark curly hair (sorry I did not get his name). Highly recommend.

The best fish and chips for miles. We come mid-Kent and always get fish and chips from Marinos as part of a day out down to the south coast. They've never let us down.

If you like your food and definitely like fish and chips this is the place to be. I’ve never had no problems from here and I’ve been coming here since 2017. I love it the food is clean. It’s always hot and it’s always cooked fresh no faults to be found with this place And I would always recommend this to everyone.

I noticed there is a takeaway price and dine in price, so I've added photos of those to my review. I ordered a takeaway and had no issues. The pricing here is very good, cheaper than the last place that use to be my regular place, so that's good. The guys working seemed friendly and welcoming. I was a bit worried as I had read reviews about them being rude. The food was hot and tasty, I'd definitely recommend here and we will be back.

Delicious Cod Bites and chips!! The portion is quite generous, the medium size of chips is good enough to share. Freshly cooked, hot and crispy Cod bites, simple but the best. Take away price is different to the eat in price, a separate menu is in front of the restaurant entrance. We had take away and enjoy it in front of the seafront, chill and nice.

Disappointed after reading reviews. Chips we're overcooked batter was very thick and forgot peas after paying for them. Have had a lot better.

My 5 star review is totally honest and in my opinion fair the 5 stars go to Adam who was absolutely fantastic he was trying to do 10 things at once without much help, Adam was polite and welcoming. The food was good also the only downfall is the place is very tired and needs abit of spruce up other than that no complaints.

Great chips, nice place and the service is great. They seem to charge a bit more than other surrounding places for cans of drink though so perhaps something to be mindful of

AVOID 🚨 Avoid 🚨 Avoid 🚨 I paid £12.10 for a medium cod, chips, and a drink. I asked if I could eat in, and the guy said they would have to charge me extra for it. There wasn’t a single person in the place. Who charges extra just so you can eat inside? I asked for my money back because I thought it was unfair. The guy said I wasn’t getting my money back and told me to take my fish and go. The staff was extremely rude. In the end, they refunded me and told me never to come back. What a complete loser. NEVER AGAIN. Edit: I just read other 1-star reviews and it seems I’m not the only one who found the owner rude. He seems emotional and insecure, thinking he’s a big deal just because he’s cooking fish. He could use a lesson in manners and how to speak to people nicely. I’m actually amazed. Bro created drama, lost a customer, and gained a 1-star review just because he wanted to earn 50p for me to sit down and eat my food. 😭

Wow the food was amazing. The huss and spam filters and chips was by far the best we ever had. Prices was great. The best thing what stand out the most is the two menbers of staff. The young man who flying and the young lady who was the waitress. Both was polite and helpful and friendly. They really don't know how good they are well done

Our fav chippy. We've been coming for years and it's always great. One of the few shops to offer a gluten free batter. Kids won't let us visit bexhill without a trip to marinos.

Disgusting take away boxes of cod and chips, the cod extremely oily stuck to the box, old chips dark coloured, and I'm texting this from the toilet as I have diroreah DO NOT EAT HERE

Always had great food and lovely staff

Where to start with this shambles of a restaurant. Waited well over 30 minutes for a simple order while later comers were served quickly and when I enquired the apparent manager (who I will call "Grinning Ginger Buzzcut") made an almost comical show of offering me my money back. When I said I'd prefer the food I had ordered Grinning Ginger Buzzcut and his less than able helpers including a self proclaimed adult (in her own words: "F___ off, I'm 21") went into a state of unexpected paralysis and seemed unable to serve any of the large amounts of fish and chips that had by then accumulated to me and my family. GGB said I had been told it could be 20 minutes, no such warning had been given and I told him that I'd have gone elsewhere if it had. This seemed to rile up GGB and he started going backwards with the prospect of me being served. At one point someone said our order was ready but GGB must have countermanded the delivery and the interminable wait went on. Eventually I took up Grinning Ginger Buzzcut's offer as another 10 minutes of total inaction has ensued and had to suffer GGB grinning from all sides as he apparently thought he was getting one over on his customer. I have no doubt that these actions, led by Grinning Ginger Buzzcut, were deliberate by some of the rudest, most unprofessional and obnoxious people I have ever seen serving the general public. This is my fair and honest review.

The weather was awful so I visited the restaurant section of this fish & chip shop whilst on holiday recently and ordered haddock and chips with a glass of water from the very friendly and attentive server, when my meal arrived it had been freshly cooked, was steaming hot and tasted absolutely delicious, their tartare sauce is amazing and I can't wait to return when I am next in this very beautiful area on the South Coast, overall excellent value for the money.

I got to be really honest here, this is the worst fish and chip place I've ever visited I ordered savaloy and chips for my mother and battered sausage and chips for my self the savaloys where cold, the chips where soggy and stuck together the battered sausages well I can't even call them battered they where barley battered at all and what batter there was, was raw on one side would not recommend ps it cost alot of money to.

Maybe they were having an off day but I really didn't rate the food. The batter wasn't crispy, the pieces of fish were a bit thin. Fish & chips is a difficult one because we all know what excellent fish and chips is like but this fell short. Sorry. Friendly people though.

Visiting the area from NZ and fancied cod and chips. Super sized cod if you wish and lovely batter and non greasy chips with salt and vinegar to eat in. Young lad serving was very helpful and polite and certainly reccommend. Yum!

A very friendly and welcoming place. Popped in for lunch on my own, I like the option of being able to choose the size of fish you want. Ordered a small cod and chips which did not disappoint. The batter was delicious and the child were plenty andc tasty. Great service, great food, thank you!

A long wait and zero atmosphere

The haddock and chips were rather awful, the atmosphere was terrible. And the owners and appearance of the restaurant and shop was dreadful.

This place serves excellent, well prepared, well presented food. Golden chips and fish of choice in perfect crispy batter. Quality produce at competitive prices. There is even an OAP meal listed on the menu ... items included as we would know fish and chips from times past! The staff are efficient and attentive. Service was prompt. Yesterday was our first visit and when I find myself next in Bexhill will certainly drop into this business again!

Not for the first time recently we have been disappointed with the chips from Marion’s. Don’t know if they’re using different oil, potatoes or what but they were horrid. A real shame as it’s been our local chip shop for years

The best fish and chips shop in Bexhill-on-Sea. The food is just so tasty. The chips are just the best. No soggy oily food here. The staff are hardworking and the place is always immaculate. There is indoor dinning if you needed to sit and eat

We really love this fish and chip shop. The choice of fish is fabulous and it tastes lovely. We come here every time we visit Bexhill. My husband had cod and I had skate. Other times I’ve had scampi. Everything is excellent. I also noticed the offer gluten free batter, we will try this the next time we visit as my daughter cannot have gluten. I hope they cook in a separate fryer to stop cross contamination. I will update once we revisit. We are ours on the promenade and got stopped a few times to see where we got our delicious looking fish & chips.🥰🤩🐟🍟

Lovely fish and chip supper. The fish was beautifully cooked and chips dry, not soggy just right. Would recommend. You can sit in or takeaway.

Disappointing experience. Came here after reading decent reviews however quality of food was poor. Chips had been overcooked, fish was poor with the batter falling off in big chunks like plaster from a wall. Staff were rude, made us felt like an inconvenience for ordering takeaway. A gentleman came in after us, was reading the board and the server was asking can she help. She turned her nose up at him because he didn’t hear her!

Visited with Mother as part of our yearly pilgrimage to place wreaths on headstones. We have been visiting Marinos for many years but always as take away bags to be eaten in the car. Today we opted to sit in for the first time as a treat, plus it was jolly cold outside. We were the only diners shortly after opening so had our choice of seats. Various fishing & coastal paraphernalia adorned the blue & white walls. Large cod & Chips Bread & Butter (singular slice, was hoping for 2) Small Haddock & Chips Beautiful golden chips, small salad garnish & a delightful crispy portion of boneless fish. Never had a bad portion out of here and it is always a treat to look forward to when we visit the South Coast.

First time I’ve been here and ordered scampi and chips the ships where very good cook to perfection and the scampi was a little bit soggy but was good the atmosphere wasn’t the greatest definitely needs a refurbishment the floors where covered in filth in the dining area and Takeaway area and in the kitchen they definitely need to do some cleaning

Popped in for a quick meal before a gig and best fish & chips we’ve had in a long time. Not heavy & greasy like many places, just really fresh tasting fish, light batter & perfectly cooked chips. Husband had the gluten free batter and said it was delicious. It certainly looked it!

Mediocre at best …. Saturday evening we popped in to try a take away fish and chips as it had seemed busy when passing on a couple of occasions. It was fairly busy Saturday evening too… Positives: Large portions of both fish and chips, batter was pretty crispy All cooked fresh too order Negatives: The fish was tasteless and had been frozen. The chips were oily and soggy. Expensive for the quality served ! Definitely not up to Minnie Bertha’s standards.

Absolutely shocked at the most disgusting, dried up piece of grey , obviously frozen , cod and undercooked chips that I have ever seen….after unwrapping my so called fish and chips I did not eat it but returned for a full refund which I was met with a very rude manager who completely refused to give either another meal or any refund . As a family we have eaten at Marinos for 18 years weekly and we shall never set foot in the place again … there are so many fish and chip shops in Bexhill who will now have my custom … Beware

The worst food possible recieved tonight. Shocking. Undercooked chips/ then others completely burnt. No salad in burger! Sausages crucified. Battered inedible. Unwilling to admitt there poor food quality and service! Will not return Herd so many bad reviews recently.

It was horrible, spent £40 on food, half of the chips were undercooked and the other half were overcooked. The only part of my order they got right was the savelouy! Even the food was some what soggy and cold. I've been there once or twice this is not the first time I have been to this chippy. This was horrible, staff who served me were rude,ignorant and more! In the end never got a refund!! Not a single penny back. Would not! Recommend.

Food is shocking, under and over cooked chips. Staff unhelpful and unwilling to offer of refund after taking food back to the shop. I have a been a long loyal customers of Marion’s, but after today I won’t be going there again. Staff seemed happy to say that my food was eaten when there was clearly a single it taken out of it.

We were in Bexhill for a concert at the De La Warr & decided to have a fish dinner before we went in. We knew of Marinos, having used the one in Burgess Hill & found the food good. The Bexhill establishment was equally as good with attentive waiting staff, who were both very pleasant. It might be detail but it makes for a nice experience. Onto the food. The menu is plain & uncomplicated, as you'd expect from a fish & chip restaurant. We plumped for the haddock & the cod, along with chips & the obligatory mushy peas on my part. Our food was cooked fresh as we could see it being prepped. SWMBO was very pleased with the haddock with a nice thin batter & my cod was equally as good. Both pieces of fish were succulent & moist, with very little oil residue, a sign of a good cook. The quantity of chips were a challenge to consume but hey! its part of the dish. Neither of us could fault the dishes, not that we wanted to. The food was almost as good as our standard measure of the Dolphin in Seaside Road. Clean tidy premises with pleasant staff will make us want to return when next in Bexhill. It must be good food given the large crowd waiting at the take-away counter.

Have always come here, the food is fantastic however the owner speaks to his young staff like rubbish and it’s completely unacceptable. I do wonder why there is always a sign in the window for new staff. He needs to show more respect they’re always polite when serving and are effective behind the till, But still he degrades them to the point where I stand feeling uncomfortable whilst waiting for my order.

Really delicious crispy chips in a generous portion. Didn't have long to wait despite coming by on a busy Saturday lunchtime. Cash accepting which means they are welcoming to all. Friendly service, with kind attention paid to elderly customers.

According to the website, it should be open,but after a 10 min walk to get there , it is closed. Not amused, please update your opening times on the Internet.

Crispy chips and quick service!

Great friendly staff here, and the chips are great, the haddock tasted fresh. But two things let it down - a heavy / dense batter, and the fake vinegar they use (annoyingly common in fish n chip shops now) which tastes of nothing but gets your chip soggy. Best fish n chips for a light golden batter? Go to Maggie's in Hastings. Kings Road chippy in St Leonards is also much better.

Fantastic place to take friends and family

I’ve given an average for the food only. We sat in to eat and what I witnessed was disgusting. Clearly a young girl who was working there had only just started and was learning the job. What I found upsetting was how the owner, I presume he was anyway by the way he was acting, was treating her. Constantly telling her off and not quietly either. This to me was an act of both control and bullying. I actually left my food because I couldn’t watch this happen. I’m equally as upset with myself for not asking the girl if she was ok.. I hope she is. I was watching and couldn’t see what she was doing so wrong!

We love coming here for our gluten free fish & chips. We come down from Tunbridge Wells and enjoy a walk along the promenade before. Thank You.

The best I've ever had! A lot of choice with different serving portions and several species of fish. Not too fatty, fish well cooked but not dry at all. Really superb quality. Friendly staff. I highly recommend this restaurant!❤️
