Linda pequeña LGBT bar / pub. Me enteré de este lugar a través de TikTok y visité durante mis viajes al Reino Unido. Desafortunadamente vine durante la semana cuando no había mucha gente allí, pero todavía era muy acogedor.

Very friendly staff, excellent coffee (with lovely oat milk option), great gluten free brownies. A swap library for books and games! Airy, spacious room with a peaceful atmosphere. And when I was there (drum roll...) my carbon dioxide monitor registered 650ppm. For those not familiar with this, it means that the air quality is very good indeed. Up to 800ppm is excellent. For anyone who wants to avoid viral infections, or who just wants to breathe clean air, this is wonderful!

Difficult to know where to begin - a hub of effortless cool and unpretentious loveliness for so many years - host to great music and exhibitions - with a wonderful buzz and fab staff - and social hub for groups from armchair philosophy to scrabble. Will miss it hugely and only wish the landlord would rethink. Huge thanks and appreciation for many memorable times.

Este pub tiene una buena selección de cervezas; las que tuvimos estaban en buen estado. Había rugby en vivo, pero en el área que estábamos sentados nadie estaba mirando y el sonido era intrusivo y distorsionado. Dos clientes, incluida la persona con la que estaba, preguntaron si se podía desactivar el sonido. El empleado del pub respondió que no se podía apagar, y si a la gente no le gustaba debería irse a otro lugar.

I had the pleasure of being served by Emilija at Ivy Restaurant in Oxford, and I must say she truly made my dining experience unforgettable. From the moment we sat down, Emilija’s warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care made us feel like VIPs. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offering excellent recommendations that suited our tastes perfectly. Her friendly demeanor and impeccable service throughout the meal went above and beyond. Emilija made our evening extra special, and I will definitely be returning, hoping to have her serve us again. Highly recommend her and Ivy Restaurant for an exceptional experience!

Changing my score from 4 to 2 stars, been in there before, and it was lovely…..until today. My partner was really impressed when we get in, by the decor, me and my daughter already have been in here a few times. We ordered the food, which took ages to come to the table, and that is where the disappointment starts. The fries in all the plates was almost cold, and the rest of the food was like lukewarm. I could have said something at the time, the reason I didn’t, it was because we where so hungry, and the replacement would take ages, and I was not in the mood for a discussion, so just decided to swallow. I gave 2 stars because is a dog friendly place, if it wasn’t that, I would give 1 star. There are better places around, and cheaper than The Red Lion.

We visited this pub for the second time last Sunday. We enjoyed the burgers on our first visit so we decided( without looking at the menu)to order them again. When paying I thought it was more expensive than the previous time so asked for an itemized receipt. When looking at this back at the table we realised that on a Sunday there is a 12.5% discretionary charge added to food and drink. So as it states "discretionary"we asked the manager why we weren't made aware of this before we paid,as this should be up to the individuals choice. She told us that there would be no refund as it is stated at the bottom of the menu.(In very small print). Very disappointed in the managers attitude. To cap it off the burgers we ordered where more expensive than what was stated on the menu which also resulted in no refund. We will find another place to eat next time in Oxford.

Very quiet for a Friday night. The barman was pleasant enough. It’s just all a bit dull for me. You can’t really see the cartoons as the room is not particularly well lit. The cocktails were fine. We walked through the hotel to the other bar which was slightly better but at £9 for a glass of not cold enough Pinot Grigio in another badly lit room, we left feeling rather conned after they added a service charge as well. . For a large hotel the wine selection by glass is very limited.

He venido aquí por un par de años esperando un buen desayuno frito. Solía ser muy bueno, los estándares se han deslizado. Más frijoles horneados (baratos) ahora, salchichas muy pobres, tomates enlatados y tocino graso. Fue cuesta abajo. Solo usa mejores ingredientes y cobra más.

High tea? More like low-T. *British guffaw* Stale sandwiches, scones from M&S and bagged tea. Should have known better when we were the only ones in at tea time. The beautiful setting was the only bright spot in an otherwise grave misuse of £50. Per person. Please avoid.
