The best restaurants serving British food in Eastbourne South East

Such a lovely cafe. Beautifully decorated with pink paper fans, nice music and lovely staff. Tables inside or in the gardens which are full of lush planting - the bees loved it. Tried the lemon and raspberry meringue cake which was enormous and gorgeous. Lots of other cake goodies and a good looking menu of breakfast and lunch choices. And a play area for the kids. It's part of Gildredge Park so lots of space for walking or playing nearby. Added bonus is free parking which is small but we parked easily on a hot summer afternoon. Another Eastbourne gem.

I have been to Godfrey's restaurant a great many times over the summer for both breakfast and dinner and I've never been disappointed. The restaurant is located on the lower ground floor of Devonshire Park Hotel and the windows look out into the garden. The atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxed and bright with some lovely pictures of local places on the wall. The staff here are kind and friendly. I never had to wait long for service. They serve a nice selection of wines at the restaurant or they would bring down gin & tonics and other beverages from the bar. The chef here cooks up some of the finest dishes in Eastbourne! I have dined here on several occasions and usually order one of the fish dishes - cod, plaice, sea bass, etc. and all the time they were very tasty and came with new potatoes and fresh veggies. I also tried the curries and a vegetarian stew - both were very good. The desserts were delicious - a particular favourite of mine was the coffee mascarpone mousse. They serve a proper English breakfast here and also have very tasty fruit salads, croissants, and danishes as part of their breakfast buffet. You will never leave here hungry and will always want to return again soon.

My husband and I ordered a Caesar chicken sandwich and ciabatta, the bread was not fresh, the filling had been slapped in the middle with nothing at the edges, with a huge amount of sultanas. Our friends ordered bacon sandwiches, only one arrived, which had very fatty bacon, they had to remove the excessive fat. The lady at the till was struggling to understand what we wanted to order and how to work the till. My husband had to pour his beer into a glass himself, not what we have come to expect from the Langham. We were all very disappointed.

In this restaurant you can get a delicious breakfast for a reasonable price. I can recommend it to everyone who visits Eastbourne.

Mixed impression. Great service, clean and comfortable interior. Only the food lacked quality. Unappealing sausages, very plain scrambled eggs, basic bread. Very basic overall. No coffee machine so low quality hot drinks. A little investment in quality products and even a little flavouring and spicing would greatly improve this café. Brunch was plain and unappetising, bland. Step up the sausage style! Spice it up a little - and all would be perfect.

excellent dishes impeccable service family atmosphere we were here a few months ago and we returned to have excellent Portuguese food again, congratulations.

Went for lunch and had the roast. It was lovely and nicely priced. The staff were polite and very helpful. The pub had a good atmosphere and the facilities were well kept. Would recommend as a nice place to pop in for a good meal and some drinks.

Best Roast dinner in Eastbourne.

Great cafe, excellent customer service, very friendly. I had a bacon and egg sandwich 🥪, mug of tea whilst waiting for my car. Definitely will be going back when I'm in Eastbourne again. Thanks 👍

Do not confuse this cafe with OLD TOWN CAFE which is about 100yds west in Church St. A cafe but with training facilities for disabled adults.

Been eating at this restaurant since I was a little kid, the family has always been polite and friendly, the food has always been delicious and prices are reasonable too, highly recommend anything from the menu always 100% spot on.

It takes you back in time, but with the service you have in todays requirements.

Highly recommend the Perch in Eastbourne! The food was great, the place was very clean and the staff were very friendly. I’d like to give credit where its due- Our table was served by a lady called Rosie and honestly, I can’t remember the last time I went somewhere and received such wonderful service. She was very cheerful and couldn’t do enough for us- it was so refreshing, so thank you!! I’ve already promised her we’ll be back and am very much looking forward to the next time already
