Very busy pub so booking is advisable. We were a party of five for dinner. We all had a different choice and all five meals were excellent. Arrived in good time, ample portions and very tasty. We will be back next year but perhaps at a quieter time as it was quite noisy. The staff and service was excellent.

Great pub was very close to our hotel, reasonably priced and very friendly staff, next time will try their food.we will be back soon.

I’m on a solo getaway from London and had the pleasure of dining at the Crown and Anchor both yesterday and today. The food has been absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. A huge thank you to the chef for such delicious meals! I also want to give a special shoutout to Tara, who has been incredibly sweet and kind. Even though she seemed to be managing the pub on her own, she was welcoming, attentive, and brought such a lovely energy to the place. Truly a wonderful experience—thank you so much!

Only dropped in for a couple of pints, but so glad we did. Lovely pub, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The menu looked good but we didn’t eat so can’t comment on the food.

Stopped here for lunch before hiking to Beachy Head. I opted for a Turkey roast dinner which was really good - felt like a homemade roast with lots of veg, roast potatoes, creamed potatoes, Yorkshire and a pig in a blanket. Great value for money! We were sat in a very quiet part of the pub - a 2nd area of the main bar, which was pretty quiet and took a little bit of time to get served. Overall a really nice pub and would defo recommend for a roast on Eastbourne.

Went for Karaoke Waited for ages Seems that the friends get preferences After several complaints we were not selected to sing our songs. Also I have had to complain about the flat lager and after a year it is still the same!

Extensive food selection (almost too much ?) so could cater for all tastes. Great service from the friendly staff. Food generally good and promptly served - the only slight complaint was my belly pork was slow cooked but tougher than I would have expected. Still tasty though.

Great little pub in Eastbourne, we visit every time we have a long weekend break.

A Greene King pub on the seafront close to The Queens hotel. Back in the early 1970's and still at school I worked part time at the Queens. We would come here for our breakfast break. A pint and a game of darts. Still got two dart boards. Games room also has large TV's. ( Oddly nit here 50 yesrs ago!) Deric ( Flat Eric's cousin from Blackburn) making a rare day out with us. Treating us to an excellent GK breakfast and coffee. Opens at 10 am. Four real ales usually on sale. A popular community pub. Free wifi. Function room, outside patio. Deric had a half of Harvey's Sussex Best for old times sake. Very good.

This is our favourite pub to eat out in great menu and lovely staff.

My wife and I enjoyed every bit of our meal here. The staff are lovely and there is a very chilled and laid back atmosphere, which was just what we needed after our walk along the seafront. Well recommend.

Went here for an evening meal, s I have done several times before. The food is of a high quality and a lot of it is home made. Multiple TVs dotted around so its good if you want to watch sport. Has a games room. The beer is very average, but a good range of spirits and wines. Worth a visit.

Weekend away in Eastbourne after a nice stroll along the sea front popped in for a cheeky drink, went back for dinner the same evening, great food and great Gluten Free options , great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

Great food, really big portions. Good selection of drinks Staff really polite. They had a great bad playing too. Don’t be put off by seeing door men outside, we thought pub would be mega busy or rough, but it was neither. Also in a great location too

Have ate in this pub in the past and the food has been amazing, with really friendly staff. Had a bad experience last time but gave it another go Sunday with two simple burger meals during a quiet period. Explained to the duty manager chips were over cooked and that's why we didn't eat them and the burgers weren't great. He said he would speak to the kitchen team and then took my full payment. Great customer service.

Last night I had a terrible experience at this establishment, whist out with my family, the food came 40-50 late and what I honestly thought was an absolute joke of a security team, after walking back into the pub with my partner, I went to the bar, only to be asked to have a “chat” by one of the bouncers, who proceeded to tell me I was too drunk and I needed to leave, I honestly was so shocked as 95% of the other patrons in the pub were almost triple the amount of drunkness. My mum came and got me back and to make them happy I even had a full pint of lemonade, I drank the whole thing and proceeded to carry on drinking my beer, which was previously bought for me, only for then the land lady tell me and my family, whom mostly were more drunk than what I was, that I had to leave because I was drunk. Other patrons at the pub were louder, more intoxicated than me, I feel I was targeted by them and feel as though the land lady was being extremely petty.

Came in to watch the Arsenal game whilst visiting Eastbourne for 1 night. Food was absolutely gorgeous and piping hot! Would 100% recommend. Staff are also very welcoming and friendly.

Really impressed by the friendly and efficient staff. For a chain oub it still felt like a proper local.

Arrived unexpected on a Subway with a party of 6. It was no problem at all. We had a delicious Sunday Roast, a nice pint. Wonderfull and very friendly service.

£7 a pint of beer? I get cheaper beer in Central London. Rip-off

We were a party of 12, adults and children and travelled from the Midlands. We all enjoyed the food, service and ambience. In particular to call out it was very cosy with the Xmas decorations

Odd shaped establishment, seems to be in the shape of an arc. Usual tap beers and a few real ales available. Wooden floors throughout and descent tables and chairs. Staff were friendly and polite. Beer was reasonable. Nice local pub. Enjoyed my visit.

Really nice food, great staff, really good all round, would recommend.

We have our lunch here when staying over. Steak pie was great, lasagne was a little dry. But the portions and presentation are brilliant. We then come back for last orders and catch the bands on which are pretty good. Service is great and quick and the place has a great feeling.

Early afternoon ,so I cant comment on the remainder of the day.. Drinks were good, food was overpriced, staff were attentive. And what we had for food was nice...........but after all it was a Green king pub and they will charge you what they like............. cos they are Green king 😔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Our issue.... Blue cards not accepted?! It's a Greene King building but privately run so they don't honour it. Staff were great. Food was great.

This place was recommended by our hotel. To be honest, the 2 young girls were not helpful at all. I ask how does it work here do order at bar or table. The reply was don't sit on a reserved table! So we found a table with the menu and waited while we watched the girl with dark hair take orders from people who had came in after us, then the same girl said sorry you have to order at the bar! That was it. We just got up and left disgusting customer service. It seems if you’re not local, they treat you like dirt!

Drinks are a tad pricey but we enjoyed afternoon of rugby wine/beer and some bar snacks. Will be back

Great pub welcoming to non locals and really friendly staff, who were able to advise us of a really good Chinese (Hoi Sum). This is a Greene king pub so all the usaul choice of drinks. We didn't eat there put we did see their fish and chips come out and that was a big piece of fish.

Been in for lunch , thought dinner looked greatest booked for the same night. As we arrived a guy seated us . Had to pay for drinks first... OK. Said he would come and take our order... 15 minutes no order same guy leaves, ok so I go to the bar where staff were gathered chatting so I say excuse me can order food. Had to pay there and then . As other people arrived they were being served and getting orders taken by a waitress. I question this , she tells me oh we only do the orders if we are free, ok but you have 3 guys chatting could they not of served me . She tells me "this is a pub, not a restraunt " but you sell food so is that not a pub/restraunt!!! Rude staff, cocky barman and the food was mediocre. Shame really. Won't be coming back. We frequent a green king pub/restraunt never not been served absolutely ridiculous.

Great live music; Fairly priced drinks.

Stayed in Eastbourne for the weekend, and we're lucky enough to have this great pub just round the corner. We watched live music on two nights, had a breakfast and Sunday dinner there. The thing that really makes this pub stand out, is the staff. With out exception, they were all extremely friendly and hard working. The food is delicious and the Sunday roast beef with homemade gravy, is highly recommended.

Great fun pub with a schedule of brilliant bands. Friendly staff and the locals are great fun and welcoming. average drinks prices for the area and decent grub too. Kitchen closes at 9 so get your snacks in before that!

I rarely review anywhere but the excellent vegan menu alongside more traditional pub fare has prompted me in this case. Not only is there an imaginative menu the food is cooked and presented very well. Even better they have cask beers and are dog friendly.

Went for lunch and had the roast. It was lovely and nicely priced. The staff were polite and very helpful. The pub had a good atmosphere and the facilities were well kept. Would recommend as a nice place to pop in for a good meal and some drinks.

My wife has eaten before, and really enjoyed it. My first impression not so great. Booked table for Sunday lunch with elderly relatives. Arrived at 12.15. Asked (at 12.25) to move table as ours was next to gents’ toilet and smell of urine very unpleasant. Was told all tables booked, but could sit in sports bar on high stools, which wouldn’t have been suitable. There was a table booked from 2.30, asked if we could sit there, would be finished well before then, but told no. 15 mins later, a couple were allowed to sit at that table? Rest of party ordered food, but I didn’t want to eat with lingering smell, even after propped open fire door closed. Can’t comment on food, others looked ok. Left hungry and very unhappy 🙁

Always have trouble eating out as I'm gluten-free and dairy-fre e. But had a good choice of food to choose from. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable which helped. We're definitely recommend it to people similar as me.and we'll be going back again

One of the better pubs about Eastbourne.

Came for a roast was told there was a wait and glad we stayed good was hot tasty and very good value lamb shank and beef was great. And we shared the pate starter which was the right decision

We went to their sister pub and the roast was fantastic 10/10 so we thought we would try here. It was truly awful, roast potatoes are like burnt ends/crisps, the meat was like school dinner sliced processed meat, the veg looked old. We left all the food and drove straight to the Alex Arms and had another 10/10 fresh roast there. I don't understand how 2 pubs that are linked could be so different.

Had a lovely evening meal. Ribs and belly of pork was absolutely delicious, especially the pork. Staff were lovely and friendly. Service was spot on. Would highly recommend this restaurant/pub.

Extremely rude young staff second time I've run into this particular young lady first time asked her for a particular bottle beer she said they didn't stock it until I pointed it out in the chiller

Brilliant pub. Came here for a meal on a Friday evening, it was busy but a great atmosphere. Love to see a pub where they have more then enough staff to suit everybody's needs. This pub I can imagine is great for some (football supporters)however if your after a peaceful pub lunch this is not the place, prices are reasonable we were in a small group and the food looked presentable and tasted ok although the three of us that had fish also had a long time on the toilet! The service was slow but the servers polite and helpful would not return.

The pub offers an excellent buffet. All very tasty. The spareribs are excellent. The service is super friendly and helpful. The ambience and atmosphere fantastic.

They stay open until stupid times letting everyone sing and shout drunkenly outside at 2am while still serving them a real nuisance

Met up with some other Chesham United fans for the 1st away trip of the season. Decent atmosphere, great presentation with the food, great laughs and drank plenty that day. Just need to learn to stop collecting glasses from our tables 🤣🤣🤣, when i'm out. Once a bartender always a bartender 🤣🤣🤣

It's OK, we're were staying up the road so called this our local, it felt like it to, friendly staff, nice atmosphere god drinks, fair prices.

Excellent Fish and Chips after a great hike from Seaford… nicest pub on the coastal road

This place was one of the worst bars I've ever entered into, and that includes some of worst dive bars in America. The staff were totally unattentive, there were no bar mats on tables, the tables were sticky and seats covered in detritis. The drinks and food prices were more expensive than West end London prices (where I work) and trying to get served was an absolute joke. I wanted to walk out after my first drink, however my wife wanted to try the Eastbourne Iced Tea cocktail, which considering it should have contained 4 shots of alcohol tasted like blue flavoured water... Complete waste of money and zero atmosphere. Had intended returning to Eastbourne on 18/08/24 for airshow, but so disappointed with this visit, that have cancelled booking and will never return to this town as found this lack of customer service is endemic here.

I'm sure this could be a good pub, located right on the beach front it could have the potential to be great, my main issue throughout my visit was the teams lack of customer service and general miserable faces behind the bar. Food was ok. Wouldn't return again though sorry.

Staff seem quite lazy, like they don't want to be there. Assume chef has changed in the last year or two as food not as good as it used to be. My wife witnessed a member of staff using a broom to sweep the coffee station counter down and then use the same broom on the floor. I didn't use the toilets but my wife said the ladies were dirty and no toilet roll in one of the cubicles, which tells me they're not attended regularly.

Popped in for a bite to eat and a drink. Had the bangers and mash which was delicious and a pint of Guinness which went down a treat. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. Overall a first class pub

Well... we did had food just because were hungry. Otgerwise not worth visiting. Lack of clean tables, horrible toilets,service not great...garlich mushrom was not possible to eat,loads vinegar/acid. And pricey!
