Do not confuse this cafe with OLD TOWN CAFE which is about 100yds west in Church St. A cafe but with training facilities for disabled adults.

Fabulous Sunday roast in the JPK cafe today. Lovely venue, beautiful food and great staff team. Would highly recommend, a real hidden gem.

Lovely idea to run a community cafe whilst training neuro-diverse people in catering skills and building a new residential facility. However, people with disabilities are not properly trained or supported, and the management of the organisation is chaotic. I volunteered here briefly and was shocked by the way the place was run. I was instructed not to contact them again after raising my concerns, and that if I did, it would be construed as harassment.

Great little cafe with lovely staff. Previous reviews show breakfast, actually its tasty and I like crispy bacon! Spotlessly clean, don’t miss it if you are nearby, perfect little place for a gathering, coffee with friendsetc, I pop in after dog walking in nearby gildredge park. A great local initiative. It will be good when the building works stops next door as there will be more room in the car park. The staff are in training so go easy on them, they do have a mentor with them . Recommend? Latte… its lovely

A real find tucked behind Waitrose in Mitcombe village. A variety of art works are displayed and for sale to make the surroundings interesting. The coffee is good as is the menu. A real find and we'll wirth a visit.

We have been here for Sunday lunch quite a few times and it has been good. Today it was poor. The dinner was barely warm, parsnips hard, roast potatoes were hard and cold. We asked the waitress to please tell the chef, but whether she did we don't know. Wondered if the chef had changed.

All freshly cooked so a small wait but worth it. Delicious fish and lovely chips. A short walk from home for us so what could be better. A great organisation training young folk, with some difficulties, in catering. Great food and supporting a wonderful charity.

Popped in on way into Eastbourne. Waitress brought my order after a long wait. Thought she was getting freshly cooked scones out of the oven. Received a cold one that was past its best! Tasted like a very cheap ready mix type! Paying took even longer! Old friendly staff have gone along with customer service and quality food!!

Unfortunately me and my wife will not be returning!!! The food is not how it used to be and the new waitress who served us was very rude. Where have all the lovely staff gone???? We missed the fabulous team work of Tracey and Andrew. Definitely not the same experience as it once was. Such a shame to find out all the lovely staff have left!

The food here is brilliant and well beyond expectations. The charity is providing fantastic opportunities for adults with learning disabilities to get real world experience of the restaurant trade and they put most other establishments service to shame with unrivalled attention to detail, politeness and efficiency. We will return as frequently as possible and make this our number one destination of choice when eating out. Could not be more impressed.

Met at the entrance to the cafe when we were asked to take our pick with a table and menus were given. A very nice waiter took our order. We had cream teas for two, which were very delicious. All in all a great experience. Nearby car parking was a necessity, which is why I chose this cafe today. Car park on the premises. All very clean and a spacious tea room. Lovely staff, who are all volunteers. They have very nice items, such as china, glass, cards, preserves etc. for sale. They have a good choice of food with wine available. Would fully recommend this cafe.

Dreadful experience. Arrived Sunday morning 11:52. Told not open to 12 but could sit down by older man. Waitress said she would take details for Covid-19. Waitress took order. While she started coffee the man asked her if she had taken details and was told she was going to. I heard him say to her they didn't do coffees on Sunday without roasts. The man seemingly just wouldn't stop complaining about situation so I stood up and said we were clearly not wanted and left. He said something else which I didn't catch. A completely obnoxious man who shouldn't be in service industry. Can't say about capaccino quality as never got them.Thats money the charity won't get for 10 minutes of time. 1 and they don't even that.

A pleasant surprise. First visit here. Lacks a little character but still quite a pleasant place for a light meal or tea and cake. Nice food and drink at good prices. Fairly extensive menu with good choice of simple food. Some simple home made pickles etc for sale. Operating on behalf of a charity makes this place feel special. Will use again if in the area.

As first time visitors to Eastbourne the Palm Court Tea Rooms name caught the eye - I was expecting Edwardian frills, crisp linen, cream teas and waiters with long aprons and waxed moustaches, somewhere near the front. Not a bit of it, this is a charity project up in the Old Town area not far from Waitrose, and it deserves to be sought out. The worthy aim of the JPK project is to provide opportunities for people with learning disabilities but the bottom line is a cheap as chips lunch served in spacious, spotless surroundings by smiley people, and every mouthful was a delight. As well as the light lunch options there are stacks of home-made cakes, too. Not what we were expecting, but probably our best eating experience during a weekend trip to the coast.

This is without doubt a very special place which we now use regularly. The food, service and atmosphere being truly special and classy with it ! I have yet to taste a better bowl of soup, trust me, it's lovingly produced in their large spotless professional kitchen by a chef who is on top of his game whatever meal you choose. Look for their 'specials' blackboard or simply choose from their regular menu, all at very affordable prices. I'd like to keep this place a secret but the ethos of the charity and sheer professionalism would make it a crime !

First visit for us. First-rate food, all home made on the premises. We enjoyed a delicious french onion soup complete with parmesan tuile, crispy onion rings and freshly baked roll, along with buttermilk chicken and pulled pork with chunky chips and coleslaw. Just so good and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend and wish JPK every success.

Llevé a mi viejo amigo a The Palm Court Tearoom para almorzar tarde.
