This is our absolute ‘go to’ for a great menu, lovely view and friendly, efficient service.

Fantastic location, very friendly and professional staff and excellent food and drink choices. My favourite for breakfast!

We went to the restaurant on New Year’s Day in storm and rain, without a booking and found the place fully packed. We could have turned down and certainly would have in other places, but we were served in a kind, friendly and helpful manner that I can’t recall having experienced before. The menu then was exceptional too, and each of our group of five was pleased with their chosen food. Thank you too a fantastic team and the young man going even the „extra mile“ after we‘d left ! The Perch will definitely be my place I’m going to with visitors in future (pre-booking of course!)

Looking for a dog friendly, accessible chilled out cafe on a day trip to Eastbourne and we found The Perch Café in Princes Park. What a marvellous find! The cafe is spacious with super views over the lake, the atmosphere very relaxed and staff friendly and helpful. Food portions are generous - we had the Monty and Bacon Baps with cappuccinos and a pot of tea, and who can resist a good fish-finger Bap?! The Perch was busier than usual (according to Google) but service nevertheless was good. All-in-all, definitely recommended and would come back again!

Ordered the fried chicken and bacon waffles that came with a huge stack of soft fluffy waffles drenched in syrup, a big chunk of crispy korean fried chicken and 3 crunchy rashers of super smoky bacon. Definitely was upset that I didn't manage to finish it because of the generous portion size, but it was an absolutely fantastic combination. Also ordered the basket of hash brown bites and the servers were super nice when I asked for the hot honey as the sauce from a different dish but they were happy to oblige my want to combine the sweet salt and spice which is my definite recommendation. Overall, for a first visit, I came in expecting a decent meal and had my expectations thoroughly blown out of the water.

This morning, myself and 12 members of my family, went for a pre booked breakfast at The Perch. Communication, service, food and experience was impeccable from start to finish. Kate dealt with my initial booking and accepted the many changes up until the day before without question. Total professionalism. On arrival we ordered drinks and then, when all were seated, our breakfasts were brought out piping hot. Delicious food and gluten free dishes were checked and cooked separately. Could not fault anything. Staff super friendly, nothing was a problem and happy to help. It was the perfect experience and i cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you to everyone at The Perch.

We had our Xmas party at the Perch for the second year running. Excellent service and a memorable night. Highly recommended.

My only disappointment was not having tried here before. What a fantastic place on our doorstep and what a fab meal myself and six friends have just had. We will be back and this will now be my local go to when wanting a lite bite in a fab location with friends. Great value as well 👏

We threw everything at them - 12 people, 2 dogs, vegans, gluten free people all there for Sunday brunch. They not only coped, they excelled. All food quickly served, correct orders, hot and excellent quality. Staff were just great, there when we needed then but not pushy, and all charming. They even moved tables so we could all sit together. Only 2 of us had been before, all 12 were really impressed and will be returning. They made a family gathering very easy and relaxed. Would highly recommend ❤️

Fantastic service! Lovely breakfast with a view! The waitress recommended the ‘Madame Christmas melt with turkey, stuffing cranberry sauce sausage & bacon’ it was absolutely Devine and huge! Definitely be back again food was delicious!

Christmas dinner at the Perch. We had such a lovely time here, the food was so scrummy, camembert, beef rib and cheesecake. Amazing portions! All tasted great with a homemade feeling. Service was fantastic! (Harry)even rustled up a non-alcoholic Xmas Mojito as I was driving, thank you. The band played some enjoyable hits that night, keep doing what you're doing, we will be back next year!! 🎄🤶🏻

Went for family dinner. I can’t work out why staff bring out hot plates then by the time the food arrives the plates are cold and the food was just warm not hot. The heating should have been on as people and us were eating with coats on. Disappointing I’m sad to say.

One of the best places to eat in Eastbourne

Even though we spent over £60 for a meal I was gob smacked when they said they needed the table for other guests arriving for the next sitting. Look out for the long haired blond who had a face like a wet weekend. Other staff were most helpful and happy. I may go back but I won't be rushing because of the above. BIG Parking just outside is closed off from the main road. You don't make it easy to sell your business. Shame really.

Had an absolutely wonderful afternoon at The Perch Cafe on Saturday. The staff were absolutely amazing, led brilliantly by Rosie, the Manager. We were there for a large charity event. The Perch were extremely accommodating & very helpful & everyone was charming & helpful & the food was absolutely delicious. Everyone loved their food. Thank you to everyone involved.

Fabulous brunch- had the chorizo and sweet potato hash which I really recommend. Speedy and friendly service by Amelie who also made sure I had a table that suited my son. Great kids menu including colouring! Will definitely be back

My dad and I come here every week and the staff are great. They remember what we have which is a lovely personal touch. Morgan specifically is amazing. We never have to wait long to catch an eye and is always a smiley atmosphere. Love this place.

Morgan is well polite Very welcoming Friendly It’s dog friendly and my dog Roxie loves to look out and watch the swans and ducks swim in the pond/lake and other dogs Morgan is really chatty and hard worker

Nice place, nice location and good choice on the menu. Unfortunately, and not for the first time, service is poor. I chose to sit outside but had to remind the staff to make the coffee and bring it out. Seems that drinks-to-go gets priority. Not enough cups because no one bothers to clear the outside tables. It's a real shame, I'd love to recommend it...but I can't.

Cold day, no heating, food lukewarm, expensive

Just had a Sunday roast here. It comes on a carving board, shared by 2, for £39. Jebus H Kristos! There was so much food, top quality too, that I couldn't eat all my share and my son outlaw couldn't either! I can't think of a better Sunday roast anywhere locally. Top marks.

Unfortunately they have stopped selling Estralla larger which was the main reason for going there, too many dogs in the restaurant yapping, not hygienic at all, ok if they are outside but not inside. Won’t be going there again.

Visited in may as a couple and had the sharing roast and crumble dessert, we liked that it overlooked the lake. There was faeces smeared on the toilet floor which I spoke to the manager about on the day. However.....we booked with Katy the manager back in June 24 for a vow renewal breakfast for 50..... Worth £1000's. Was a bit of a nightmare getting through emails and messaging but after visiting the cafe 3 times in person, It was sorted and we were assured it was booked. (Shown in their bookings book) After following up in September 24 we have been told that the manager has now left and that our party has not been officially booked, and that they can't accommodate the times agreed and the price quote will now go up. We have sent invites out and dj was was booked who had liaised with the cafe. Thank goodness we followed up and have time to find alternative event space. We now need to reissue new invites at a additional cost to ourselves and lost a DJ deposit. I would not hold any trust in perch group for the future. We can't find Andrew Coombes email to complain to directly. Avoid the perch group in East Sussex

We recently visited Perch for breakfast for the first time, what a find! We were greeted by our server Rosie who was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The sweetcorn hash was so good and my partner raved about the full English, really good quality sausage and bacon. We both love a Sunday roast, so will be coming back to try this soon. Overall great experience, highly recommended.

Highly recommend the Perch in Eastbourne! The food was great, the place was very clean and the staff were very friendly. I’d like to give credit where its due- Our table was served by a lady called Rosie and honestly, I can’t remember the last time I went somewhere and received such wonderful service. She was very cheerful and couldn’t do enough for us- it was so refreshing, so thank you!! I’ve already promised her we’ll be back and am very much looking forward to the next time already

A very clean dog friendly cafe set in the park with the lake at the back with seating. Perfect to take your dogs or just a lovely view when having brunch :) Food was lovely with good portion sizes:) nice friendly staff :) Lovely home made cakes also :( We will definitely go back :)

How fabulous were the staff, the food and the venue for my wife’s 60th birthday party at the Perch. We all had a wonderful evening there, such friendly and attentive service from Rosie and all of the team. Would highly recommend for your special event.

Often pop in for a coffee with my baby so he can have some breakfast, the staff are always so helpful in getting me a highchair and bringing my coffee. I don't eat so I'm a low spending customer but they're more than happy to help and it's really appreciated

Great location in Prince’s Park next to the lake and over the road from the seafront. Varied menu with healthy options. I opted for the salmon bowl which had a good balance of protein, grain and vegetables with a tasty dressing. They also do a range or brunch options and desserts.

Very delicious, the only disappointing thing was the hot chocolate, in Spain it would be like ordering a colacao, very very liquid and with little chocolate flavor. Otherwise, the plates of food were abundant and very delicious, the service was very friendly and the place is beautiful. For children they have tablecloths with pictures to color while they wait for the food.

Went for specifically for the late Sunday sharing roast (4pm till 7pm). The sharing roast platter is ideal if one doesn't eat as much as the other, say. The platter is generous(3 meat and all the trimmings). Nicely cooked and served perfect temperature. Atmosphere is lovely and respectable with ambient tunes playing and bustling with couples and large along with nice staff with dispositions.Surrounding s of course, lovely with outlooks over the lake. Priced at 17 pounds pp plus leftover takeaways makes it very a reasonable Sunday lunch.Oh, and the Perch does a vegetarian Wellington option platter. So, we would genuinely recommend it!

Visited over the weekend this was our first time, we was out on a dog walk and just fancied a small bite to eat and a little drink we was greeted at the door by a lovely friendly lady that explained everything she made us feel really welcome in fact all the staff were really friendly and helpful the food was amazing and I really liked that it’s dog friendly we will definitely be back!

Came in with my partner who’s a fussy eater but they had more then enough choices on the menu and the member of staff who served us was very helpful with explaining the allergens as well as there personal favourite on the menu definitely a must come back

We visited for lunch before taking part in an event, the food came out and it was very hit and miss, two meals were missing the items stated on the menu, when queried were told they had run out of one and the other had been missed. The plates were taken to add the missing item and put back on the table. Fore pots of tea were order and one came out cold. When as for a hot one they said they could not do it so have something else. A chocolate brownie was order and that came out burnt. The staff were very dismissive and really did not care. We had used this venue before and it had been a really good meal. After yesterday we will definitely not be returning

Waited 30 minutes for mediocre food that was very pricey. As an excuse the Manager said they had been busy, but they could have told us the wait would be 30 minutes. Will not go back.

Very disappointed that, arriving soaking wet from the rain on my mobility scooter, the waiter said there was no space to sit down and I would have to drink my coffee standing up

Really disappointed. Shortly after arriving, a member of staff who I assume may have been the manager came over accusing us of being a couple who had been in recently and not paid the bill. She explained we looked just like them. I was pretty taken back and explained that this wasn’t us, but appreciated how frustrating this would be to happen to a business. Still, she didn’t let it go and kept questioning, an uncomfortable situation and we certainly did not feel welcome. Really strange customer service from this particular woman, won’t be rushing back. Edit- yes my review is for your business. A member of your staff confronted me as I explained above. I can’t remember the exact date we visited which is probably why you can’t see anything on the CCTV.

Great view, very friendly staff and top quality food. The staff were really welcoming providing excellent service. The restaurant has a great atmosphere which is very family friendly, the view adds to the experience. Has really good vegan options and some new meat options like Korean fried chicken & bacon on waffles which was really tasty. Reasonably priced for the quality and portion size. 2 adult meals, 3 drinks, 1 side and a child's meal at £50, considering the whole package view, food and service this was well worth it!

Walking from Sovereign Harbour to Eastbourne pier. Popped in with friends for an all day breakfast. Decent food and portion. Pleasant staff. Nice outlook to the lake. Always puzzled in this day and age that whilst offering a gluten free breakfast they don't have GF sausages 😞

I booked a baby celebration here on Sunday. The chef Ben was wonderful at accommodating all the dietary requirements for guests and the food was amazing. The staff were great to help decorate and make the experience even better. Thank you! ❤️

Food - presentation was good but the food doesn’t made well. I’ve order avocado toasts with poached eggs and bacons. First toasts are just slightly toast bread still soft, poached eggs I only can taste vinegar I don’t know how much vinegar they cook with it and last bacons not crispy. All those ingredients are super simple and easy to cook. They just couldn’t handle it. Coffee I would say not a nice coffee. Service - Staff are not very friendly especially you didn’t book a table. Atmosphere - Nothing special if you’re not sitting in the window area.

Popped over for a quick breakfast when I couldn't be bothered to cook! Been here loads of times and, whilst the costs are sneaking up to eat out these days, the food is still worth it and the vegan options are still some of the best in town. REALLy enjoyed the vegan breakfast and the service was on point

Stopped here for breakfast/brunch. Pleasant inside area and lovely chatty staff. We ordered various breakfast combinations on avocado sourdough. All freshly cooked snd poached eggs were runny - always a bonus! Quite substantial portions, so come hungry. Overall a very good breakfast.

Worst service ever in my life. Plenty of empty tables but tried not to seat us wanting us to queue at the counter. We insisted on a table whereupon the wait person made us wait a very long time before she took our order and even longer before the beverages turned up. We watched this woman steer another family away from the seating area as well. Seems very strange behavior for a cafe to be turning down business when most tables are empty. My latte is also pretty bad so I would never return to this place

Lovely place with a great atmosphere. However, the service was a bit of a letdown. Despite having plenty of staff, the person making the drinks was overwhelmed, ending up with four trays of orders. I waited for 10 minutes as my drink sat on the side before I finally got it. While the staff were attentive initially and offered to take my drinks, the overall experience was somewhat disappointing.

Booked for 5 on Fathers day, the food was amazing best roast we've all had in a long time. Definitely be back.

Overall very good, but let down by being rushed off of our table. We began our meal at 2.30, and were told at 3.30 that the table was booked for someone else at 4pm, but didn't get our desserts until 3.45, so it was a tight finish. Waitress then came over again with the bill, asking us to pay and leave, while my daughter was still eating dessert. Overall it was good, decent food and decent service until this little issue. IMO, I think it would be better if the new customers would be asked to wait 5 or 10 minutes, than to rush the current customers. I feel if I was the other customer, that wouldn't ruin my experience, whereas being rushed at the end of your meal does ruin it. Not a big complaint, more a suggestion of how to deal with that situation in a better way. Other than that, we were happy with everything else.

We are local and have been to the Perch lots of times before, always happy with our food and experience. However today was a let down and we probably won’t return for a full meal here again. The food is fairly expensive (as all restaurants are these days), but was quite basic and not cooked as nicely as it has been in the past. The Korean chicken burger tasted good, but the chicken was very gristly and the bun just went completely soggy. The presentation was just not there either. Breakfast bap again was just ok, bacon not great and a slightly odd taste where I think they put the bun on the grill? The chocolate cake was very good! However what was most disappointing was the state of the toilets - these obviously haven’t been cleaned in a while. Not just the toilets themselves, but the floor, the corners and the door and around the door handle and the sinks were so grubby and grimy - that’s weeks/months of not being cleaned, not just a day or two. If we hadn’t already paid for our food before visiting the toilets, we would have just walked straight back out again as it doesn’t speak very highly of the hygiene.

The Perch Princes café in Eastbourne provides an excellent dining experience. Ordering via smartphone is incredibly convenient, and the service is both outstanding and polite. It's a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy a cake and coffee. Overall, a highly recommended café for its ease of use and delightful ambiance.

Sadly a bit disappointing yesterday, staff seemed flustered and short staff. Food was ok, lukewarm at best, poached eggs cooked and reheated so were hard. We ordered another drink but it didn’t arrive, we have been a few times but sadly not great this last time.

Excellent staff and service. Was really noisy and hot. The food and menu isn't as good as it used to be. There is a great looking choosing Sunday roast but for some reason it isn't served until 4pm. Asked for a dish but they had run out. Had a bacon bap instead but it was not to my taste (hard, crispy bacon and burnt roll with no accompaniment). I tend to think that some of the dishes are classics but with an unnecessary addition which doesn't make it better like a cheese and ham toastie with a fried egg in top. Just keep it simple. The ingredients are great though. A few of us couldn't choose anything they liked on the menu. Strange that there wasn't a sandwich as an option.

First time here for a breakfast and it won’t be the last, delicious food, plenty of it and very tasty. The staff are run of their feet as it got very busy but they continued to be very professional and friendly throughout the service. I’d highly recommend a visit if you haven’t been before. I’ve also had a sharing roast here before with exactly the same experience 🤩

First time visiting Perch today and loved it! Would be great to see more places like this in Eastbourne. Really enjoyed the free live music, view of the lake, trendy interior and best gluten free pizza I've had in town. The staff were busy so I did have to queue for a while to get my food, but they were doing their best during a packed event and were very apologetic/friendly.

Really disappointed. Quite an expensive place anyway but thought I would treat myself on my walk home. Ordered an iced coffee and brownie, walked the 25 minutes home and then realised I was given a millionaire shortbread instead. Not a hard order and annoyed that they got something quite simple wrong.

Had breakfast here on a sunny Saturday morning, tried the vegan breakfast on the menu and the dirty chai latte. The portion was huge and it was probably one of the best breakfast I had in ages! It was lovely and i would definitely be back.
