The best restaurants serving British food in Crawley South East

On approaching the restaurant walked past 3 kitchen staff smoking sitting on the grit bins. Booked table online as thought maybe busy but was surprised to find it quite quiet, took ten minutes to get the attention of the waitress to order our drinks and food and then another 50minutes for me to ask and point out that our food was waiting on the serving hatch for the last 5minutes. And then waited an age for us to be offered the desert menus to de the staff then clearing a table that had been left for an hour. The salad bar was poor and half empty and hearing families being told it would be an hour and half for a table when there was only a max of 4 tables with people eating didn’t seem right. On speaking to a staff member was told it was because they have been taken over by the hawth and half the staff have been sacked and the the rest have been cut right back so was only two serving staff on shift.

Probably one of the worst places I’ve been to. The service was awful. All of the tables were filthy and we had to request for our table to be cleaned prior to sitting down, which was done begrudgingly. When our breakfast came out, I can only describe it as a refied and warmed up previously cooked food. Everything was over cooked due to constant refrying and warming up, the beans were served up with a congealed bean sauce where they had been sitting for so long. No condiments are on the table like you would expect to find in a normal decent establishment. You have to go and request these as apparently they have a problem with theft of ketchup and brown sauce. This is definitely not a good place to eat. Definitely not fresh food!! And in my opinion avoid at all costs!!!

Ordered food the waitresses were great, the food was good, quite a lot of choice on the menu, overall a very enjoyable meal.

This place used to be one of the best around but in recent months it has slowly declined. Quality and quantity is reducing gradually while prices are increasing. Chips are hard and dry and portion sizes are inconsistent. Fish much smaller and a large portion now resembles small elsewhere. Such a shame... time to go elsewhere

I ordered a doner burger from here and was extremely disappointed. When I got home and opened the box, I found that all the doner meat was completely burnt and hard. We returned it to the shop, and the person serving us said, “Of course it’s hard, you ordered over 40 minutes ago.” Even if the burger was ordered 40 minutes ago, the doner wouldn’t become hard just because it got cold—it was hard because it was burnt. The quality was really poor, and the customer service was even worse. They should stick to selling Fish and Chips. Avoid!!

Brilliant service from Iain. Very friendly and attentive could not ask for more. Credit to you business. The food was exactly what we asked for. The meal deal for lunch is great value

A family sunday lunch with teenage kids. Plenty of parking, friendly welcome and service and good quality food and choice from the carvery. Would recommend for the great value and we'll be going again!

Called in to charge car and have food, service great, prices ok for location, food and drinks good. Always good service and food here.

Possibly the worst quality food ever seen at any Wetherspoons. Granted i did not complain at the time due to time constraints and no wish to embarrass my business partner but after complaining online a week later, received a stock email saying they would do nothing to rectify the situation.

Arrived at Wetherspoons Gatwick South Terminal for breakfast at 4am only to be told no coffee available!! Unbelievable🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Excellent customer care from all staff members we encountered Rhydian was very efficient and checked back regularly to ensure everything was okay.

I visited after a Crawley town football match and the place was pretty busy, despite that service was prompt. Tables could have done with cleaning more regularly

Greggs on Crawley Haslett Avenue West. Super little Greggs. Visit on Mondays for lunches. Usually the chicken bacon baguette lunch with a drink .. and yumyums 😋. They are always busy .. sometimes very very busy. And the staff, they are always attentive and friendly. Today, only long yumyums in the box, no doughnut yumyums in the box. Quin offered me two doughnuts yumyums in their cabinet for the same price as the box 😊. Thank you helpful friendly Quin 😊 You are a great credit to Greggs.

Live music, particularly the open mic, drew me here. It's a friendly, locals-type pub, with interesting food and great live music.
