Greggs in Crawley

A quick lunch with mum . We had sausages rolls and Belgium buns and tea all delicious. I have a couple of downsides I told the server we was eating in but he put two sausage rolls in one bag and the two buns in one bag . No plates or serviettes no sauce I had to help myself to more bags . Also the shop was very dirty mess all over the floor and the customer toilets was very dirty and no toilet roll available . Half the seating area was also closed. This used to be a great place to eat with plates and proper cups it’s hit rock bottom now .

Usual cheap and tasty pasties. Friendly staff. But in this branch, the toilets were filthy! Even a really unhygienic and dirty loo brush. Avoid the toilets, it will put you off your sausage roll!

Visiting family in the area we stopped here for lunch at 11:45am on 23rd October 2023. Being a regular Greggs customer in our home town we were expecting the same standards of food and service. On receiving a steak bake and steak pastie we were shocked to discover our "hot food" was stone cold. I went to the counter to let them know. I said excuse me to the staff member (a young chap) who was close by and explained that my food was cold. Another lady then interjected and rudely told me that there was a sign on the display that says that food may not be hot as they are not hot counters. She said that it depended on how long the food has sat there as to whether they were warm at all. She was extremely rude and abrupt with me. She basically told me it was my fault and that I should know not to expect hot food. I was hoping that they may at least offer to warm it up in the microwave but no I just got told that they didn't have the turn over and that was that. I was shocked by how rude the staff were. After, I looked at the counter and could see no such sign. All I could see was a sign that said freshly baked products may be hot, not that food may be cold. I took a photo of the display to see if I had missed something which I hadn't. The only other sign was one on the counter that had information about the baguettes. In all the many years of visiting many different Greggs up and down the country, I have never once had stone cold food. I would have accepted the explanation if it had come with an apology or without such a rude delivery. I will certainly never return to this particular Greggs again. Not the usual standard of service, this team really needs training in customer service.

We visit this Greggs a lot. The staff are always friendly and the food is always nice. the place is clean and you can usually find a seat to eat in if you go at the right time. We will continue to go here. The prices are reasonable too.

Just popped in for vegan sausage rolls, special offer buy 3 get one free….very tasty, had to queue, staff wearing masks, maybe a little more friendliness , ie hello, thank you and goodbye would improve service

We like going to Greggs but there is never enough seating to eat in, or every time we go, we pick the wrong time. :) The food is always lovely, especially the hot sausage rolls and the cappucino is really good too. The staff are always polite and friendly.

They don’t let you use the toilet. Rude employees, both of them. Disgusting place, just perfect for the kind of people they employed.

I use this Branch now and again and always find the staff attentive and the bacon baguette with a coffee is reasonably priced and enjoyable

Staff member ask what I like and before I could tell her she walked off. I only got half a cup and had to complain and just to top it off my partner is Cup had a hole in it disappointing service

Cup of tea to go and a pain au chocolat, okay food and a hot tea so nothing to complain about. Very reasonable prices so nothing to complain about really. Good option if you don't want to sit down but just carry on shopping.

The product range with the Greggs bakery in Crawley appears to be identical to any other Greggs. This means a wide variety of food, most of which are very tasty. Everything is of good value, but the prices are slowly rising (Especially for the sausage roll!). There is a seating area, but it's very small. If you want to sit down to eat, I'd advise visiting the nearby memorial gardens.

Sometimes this place is a bit hit and miss. I think it depends on what time you visit. I tend to go in for a hot sausage roll or steak bake, as I'm partial to them. The food I've found is tasty and well cooked, but the coffee slightly bland and tepid, well for me anyway. Sadly I've noticed that occasionally the tables are left dirty and the floor needs cleaning. Nevertheless, overall it's a good place for a snack.

Your quote "famous steak pies," must be famous due to the fact there was nothing in it. One tiny piece of meat a small squirt of cold gravy and cold and with a luke warm cup of soup with a spoon. What was the spoon for, the soup was like dog p#*s, you should have given me a straw. Unfortunately zero stars was not an option, absolutely discussing and never again!

Without prejudice to its healthiness, Greggs hot food is solid and well cooked. It’s mainly bakes, such as sausage rolls, but they are hot and golden. The sandwiches are wrapped and look like those from anywhere else. Hot chocolate here was rich and tasty. Not sure about the seating area, which creates bottlenecks when the store is busy. Greggs is principally a takeaway service and it does pretty well. Service is prompt and the staff friendly.

Tables where filthy and staff where standing around chatting with each other. You don’t get plates for your food it’s served on the same tray as your hot drinks.. yet they charge you extra for eating in! How does that make sense? The toilets are absolutely filthy and smelly. This place really has gone down hill yet the prices have been hiked up. Really disappointed Greggs!

Whenever we are in Crawley on a last minute shopping trip we pop into Greggs for their sausage rolls and cakes, sit out just outside on a bench and watch other people walk by.

Decent price for what we ordered. The staff are friendly. Though the area to queue up to order and pay isn’t super clear, and there’s no waiting area for your food, since the person at the till takes your order, and then they’ll heat up the food and/or make the hot drink you’ve ordered as you wait behind the till. Otherwise the food is good as is the coffee

Always welcoming and well stocked at 07:40 in the morning. Great croissants/slices and hot chocolate. Sandwich I really liked no longer made, but found a replacement.

Horsham store Fancied a hot sausage roll @ 3pm All were cold Can you heat it? No sorry not aloud! Have you anything that is hot-no!! Left and went to Pret Complete joke!!!

Popped in for a pie but more expensive and shrinking. Staff very friendly but tables not wiped clean even though the café wasn't busy.

Good location......prices reasonable........food not very hot........tastes like yesterday's......staff not very friendly.

The horsham greggs has a really lovely team of staff, they are all very bubley and nice. In particular Richard stands out from the rest, he's always happy to see me and my friend and asks us how our day is going, jokes with us and always ensures we leave with a smile.

There is a certain staff member here that is extremely rude..

Good sandwiches and drinks. The cost is fair. Not clean at all unfortunately, chairs are filthy and broken.

Always busy, especially early morning. Really like the chicken and bacon sandwich, not available in the summer . Good value for a drink and croissant

We were passing and decided to pop in for coffee. Although busy there was still some seats so we had two lattes and two filled baguettes. The coffee and food was good, tasty and although pre packed it was still fresh. It tick the boxes for a quick snack.

Have visited this establishment many many times over the years & nearly every time I end up leaving in disbelief at the way the staff talk to the customers, certain staff are so rude & have no idea about customer service.

we use this store to buy freshly baked bread, cakes etc, it has recently had a revamp and it is very clean and tidy etc, highly recommended

Great early in the morning to pick up lunch. Great choice of sandwiches and soft drinks. Breakfast deal looks good. Mini doughnut's so tempting

Used to often call into Greggs for a beef slice - they have done the place up with a nice new shiny door and they appear to have done away with plates - we ordered - a slice each and he had a sausage roll too - the woman put it all on one plate - I said 'can't we have a plate each?' so she gave me another plate leaving me to move the hot slice with my own fingers - again I had to ask for knives and forks and asked for salt only to be told they don't do salt now - confused - why have a sit in and eat service and not provide salt and pepper - no think I am going to have to find another eaterie locally - sad as the food is still tasty
