Live music, particularly the open mic, drew me here. It's a friendly, locals-type pub, with interesting food and great live music.

We live half a mile away and can still hear their obnoxious noise, what I presume is karaoke. It's great to have fun but can we remember people need to sleep for work/have children that need to sleep. Clearly no concern for others at all!

Poor beer, rude staff, obnoxious patrons and excess noise spilling out into the street from speakers that face away from the pub. At all costs, avoid this terrible blight on the neighbourhood.

As a band member booked for a gig i travelled from essex as did my drummer from brighton and guitarist from guildford. To be told at 4.30pm that there had been a double booking and the landlady chose to have a DJ instead. The mind boggles , surely knowing that. Band members had travelled distance and personally i took a day off plus fuel im out of pocket £160. No consideration or offer of reimbursment is a shocking way to treat people. Personally i will never accept treatment like that and will never play such a venue again. I would urge other bands to be on there guard with pubs such as this and i personally will be issuing contracts in the future

This pub has had a recent refurb and it really didn't change much.. This is a pub for the locals of broadfield.. This is not a family friendly place.. I would never take my family here.. Staff are also very rude and pushy..

Been usung the pub for over 25 years before mooving away. i Called in last night and very suprised , clean and fresh .New carpets throughout , if any pub needed a face lift it was here , well done to all of the managment team, on the down side music was so loud you couldnt converse and the dividing rail between upper and lower bar needs ro be put back before someone breakes leg

Haven't been here for sometime this when built in 1975 was really good to start but went right down hill. Today I am amazed at the transformation really gone from the pits of the Earth to somewhere you quite feel a proper pub sadly lacking these days. Honest John

Like most pubs it can be dull, but when it's rockin i don't want to go home, like the idea of giving the old age pensioners xmas dinner every year waited on by the pub locals.

I have used The Imperial as my local for about 20 years. I have always received a friendly welcome from all the the staff. They are helpful and knowledgeable about products and events. This pup has never been a big food pub but a drinkers pup. That said there basics such as burgers etc and a Sunday lunch which looks and smells good as they are bought out. I often come in and work on my lap top and I am left in peace to get on with it, however a member of staff will stop by and ask if I need a top up and bring t to my table. The Imperial also has a great sense of community supporting local charities and providing a Christmas party for local pensioners. Entertainment is provided by way of local bands, discos etc. and are well attended. All in all this is a fantastic pub.and I would recommend it to anyone. Ian Burgess
